TELEPATHY

Synopsis: Colin and Ryan discover a special talent they have. In Colin’s POV.


I woke up on the morning of the years first “Whose Line?” taping. I had flown in from Canada only last night, and I was still very tired. Only the thought of seeing my best buddy Ryan again allowed me to drag myself out of bed and get dressed. Rubbing my eyes tiredly, I headed downstairs to make myself breakfast and a cup of coffee. I took out some eggs and the coffee pot, when I heard a strange sound, sort of like an alarm clock, and then some incoherent muttering. Seeing as I was the only one here, and I locked the doors last night, I shook my head and, assuming I was hearing things, pushed the noise to the back of my mind.
As I got in the car and headed for Raleigh studios, I pretty much thought the weirdness was over. I could not have been more wrong. I heard a grumble of annoyance come out of nowhere, and then a grumbled “Shoot I got up late Drew’s gonna kill me ”
What the-? That sounded like Ryan And it seemed so close Where the heck was it coming from? I rubbed at my temples and focused on the road ahead of me. God, I must be losing it. Ten minutes later, the hallucinations, or noises...or whatever they were, started again.
I was both amused and confused to hear the faint sound of someone.... of Ryan... singing a hoedown. When I cleared my mind and listened more closely, I heard the sound of a running shower. So I can hear what Ryan hears to? Whoa Where did THAT come from? I am SO not hearing what Ryan hears, and I most certainly cannot hear his thoughts But who am I kidding? I can But how? Why? Why now and not when we first met or something? I think we would have noticed this before Wait... can Ryan hear what I’m thinking too? Well now there’s a creepy thought. How am I supposed to bring up a question like that anyway? Should I just walk up to him before the show starts and go “Hey Ryan, can you hear my thoughts right now?” He’d think I’m totally insane Or maybe I’ll just ask him in my mind and he’ll respond. Yeah, like that’s going to happen. I can just imagine how stupid I’d feel, standing there with my eyes closed in front of him
“sending” my thoughts to him. You know what? I’m just going to do that
right now, just to prove I’m not hearing his voice, and that I’m just going totally insane. Well thats a much better thought isn’t it? I’m not hearing Ryan, I’m only going insane WOOO okay, now I’ve gotten off track a bit.
I pulled into the large parking lot, right next to Ryan’s car, my mind absently noticed, and headed for the backstage entrance. On my way there, and feeling incredibly silly mind you, I scrunched up my eyes to a squint and focusing on clearing my mind, I clearly thought, // Ryan, can you hear me?// I waited for a response, feeling more stupid as every second passed, and then...

// Yeah, Col. I can, isn’t that weird? //

Did I just hear what I thought I heard? ? Oh no, no...way, there is no way this is happening

// Ryan?//

// At your service // came back Ryan’s confused, But all the same cheerful reply. Whoa.... just....whoa. I focused my thoughts again.

// Hey, Ryan? If you don’t mind me asking.... what the HECK is going on? // I don’t know how, but I could just sense that Ryan was in deep thought. After a few minutes, he replied.

// I don’t know, to be honest. But hey, you gotta admit, it’s pretty cool //

Ryan’s thoughts were happy, but I could sense he was scared, just like me.

//Yes, I admit, it is pretty cool, and we could probably use it to improve are Improvisation and everything, but until we get the hang of this, lets try holding off messing with the guys minds okay?//
As I said this, I walked into the green room, and sat right next to Ryan. I took a moment to notice how odd we looked, sitting right next to each other, deep in thought, and occasionally exchanging quick glances. But this is not the time to worry about that now, and besides, Drew, Wayne and Brad were doing there own thing, it’s not like they were watching us.

// NOT messing with the others minds? Aw it sounds like so much fun.// He stole a quick glance at me, and upon seeing my serious expression, sighed.

// Fine It’ll be difficult.... But, yeah, lets hold off messing with Drew and everyone’s mind until.... like, tomorrow.//

// Ryan....// I warned jokingly.

// Fine Next week.//

I wanted to think this whole thing over, but I felt sort of uncomfortable with Ryan listening.

// Ry, could we maybe, I don’t know... keep to our own minds for now, we can talk, or think, about this or whatever, later. But for now lets get ready to go on stage and switch to normal speaking mode.//

Ryan glanced around, making sure no one was listening, because it would be really odd to hear him reply to nothing, and said in a slight whisper, “Sure Col.” I let Ryan walk ahead of me as we headed toward the sound of the talking and laughing crowd. Suddenly remembering something, I ran up to Ryan, and when he turned, he was confused to see an evil smirk on my face.

“ Uh, Col...... what’s up? I don’t like that look your giving me.”

My smirk turned to a grin of amusement as I leaned a little closer to him, and said, “You know , Ry, I can hear more than what you think.” Seeing his look of confusion, I continued and, not even bothering to hide the laughter in my voice, asked, “ Do you always sing hoedowns in the shower?”

Lol. Thanks dood. He is the funkiest/goofiest of them all hehe. Don't worry I'll get to reading it at school. I couldn't today, because all Study Hall I was studying for my Cold War Test in History. Don't worry I'll read it tho

Got boreded, & read it. I liked it. Especially the singing hoedown part. Made me chuckle. Thanks for brightening up my evening. Now that makes me want to think of a new story to write... I usually write stuff dealing with war... I wonder how I can turn that around into a Whose Line? thing.... hmmm....... lol.... now to go sing a hoedown in the shower XD

Sometimes stories you right that are pretty quick, spure of the moment thing happen to turn out the best than a long dragged out story. I did like it though. One of my favorite Whose Line? Fan Fictions I read. Its probably better than mine XD

Yes I actually did. I liked the monkey part when he ran into the hut & woke up Jeff XD made me laugh. Cuz I just pictured Jeff running out screaming: AHHHHH!!! MONKEY!!!!!!!!!
