lia isabelle giovanni

Lia Giovanni is a 24 year old civilian. She works at the New York Times as a new reporter and loves her job. Her father used to be the chief of the NYPD before he was killed by Charles Moretti when she was twelve years old. She desperately wants revenge. Lately, she's taken an undercover investigation story to try and bust the Morettis' latest dealings. This will entail dating Leo Moretti.

----- Delaney is a 23 year old female civilian. She works at the New York Times as a columnist but wants to be a lawyer. She's super smart and super quiet and doesn't quite understand everyone's obsession with dance marathons. Her guilty pleasure is definitely alcohol so prohibition isn't sitting well with her. She's lia giovanni's best friend and has been since they were children. She's got a bit of a thing for ------ Smith (2) but won't say anything.

----- Smith is a 25 year old, male civilian. He's incredibly immature and the bane of most everyone's existence. His father is the editor of the New York Times so it's clear that he only got his job as a reporter there because of a bad case of nepotism. He isn't particularly talented but he's got good intentions with everything he does. He idolizes the mafia and would never let his brother or father find out about it, but lately he's been talking to Claudio Giordono about taking on a job or two for him. Perhaps he'd be a more talented mobster than a reporter?

---- ----- Smith is a 25 year old male civilian. He's a lot less annoying than his twin brother and actually cares about his job at the New York Times, though he'd rather be doing something more stimulating and exciting with his life. He watches out for his brother constantly and has a bit of a sweet spot for ----- ---- delaney, but he's too shy to come right out and say it. He hates the mafia and does everything he can to simply act like it doesn't exist.

Meyers Smith is a 52 year old civilian. He loves his job as the editor of the New York Times and always has. He's best friends with ----- Porter and used to be best friends with Lia's father. He doesn't care one bit for the mafia but knows that his news wouldn't sell half as well without them on the front page. He's a bit sporadic but he's got a good heart.

"The Moretti family are currently the ones that control the city. Charles Moretti ruled with an iron fist and everyone's watching to see if his son Leo will do the same."

Leonardo Moretti is a 25 year old, male mob boss. He was handed the job when his father died, more than anything and really isn't too happy about it. He never wanted to be the one ordering a bunch of murders and deals with a lot of guilt from it, but he does what he's supposed to do and his quick temper certainly makes it easier. To anyone who doesn't know him personally, he's a cold, unfeeling mob boss who doesn't take anything from anyone. His family is really important to him and lately he's beginning to wonder if Lia Giovanni might not make the first chink in the rock hard armor around his heart.

------ Moretti is a 27 year old female. She is the oldest in the Moretti family and takes her responsibility to take care of her family very seriously. She knows that her brothers are (and father was) involved in the mafia but pretends that she has no clue. She's a bit old fashioned but knows how to have fun. She's engaged to ------ guiseppi.

----- Moretti is the youngest of the Moretti family at 21 years old She's certainly the most carefree of the bunch and the most emotional. She loves her family and knows full well what her brothers are up to though, like her sister she pretends that she has no clue. She doesn't have anyone special yet but she's always dreaming about the day that she will. Her greatest dream in life is to go to college and become a school teacher since she loves working with children.

----- Moretti is the third youngest of the Moretti siblings at 23 years old. He really should have been the one that got the job as don since he's the one with the cold heart but he isn't too bitter about it... at least not all of the time. Like any good Italian, he loves his family, though he doesn't show it quite as willingly as his sisters do. He's got a temper that rivals Leo's but when he blows up it isn't nearly as dramatic. ---- Moretti is quite a bit quieter than his brother and the contrasts between them don't stop there. He loathes the Santorini and Giordono families almost as much as the NYPD.

----- Guiseppi is a 28 year old hitman for the Moretti mafia group. He's a rather quiet, solemn man around those he doesn't know well but he's perfectly gentlemanly when he's in his comfort zone. He had a lot of respect for Charles Moretti but doesn't know how he feels about taking orders from someone younger than him (Leo). He's engaged to ----- Moretti (27). He knows that she knows what he does but he doesn't like it one bit.

The Giordono Family
"The Giordonos haven't had true control of the city in decades and they're getting tired of it."

27 year old Claudio Giordono has been in charge of the Giordono mafia group for three years and hasn't done anything to improve it. He just doesn't have the killer instincts that his competitors have. He's much more passive and would rather be studying his books than ordering murders. He does what he's told, however, and tries to run the mafia group as best he can. He's currently dating ---- ---- Sorelli, but he's finding Alessandra Santorini a bit alluring lately.

----- Giordono is the 30 year old brother of Claudio. There doesn't appear to be an actual reason that he was passed over in the line when his father gave Claudio the role of don except for the fact that Claudio was always the favourite. One thing is for sure, ----- Giordono certainly has the guts and the coldness to do the job like it's supposed to be done, and he knows it. He'll do absolutely anything to push Claudio out of the boss's chair and take it over himself, even if that means murder.

------ Mancini is a 24 year old aspiring jazz singer with the voice to back it up. She is dating ------ Ricci and has been for quite some time. She's definitely the sweetheart of the group and goes out of her way to take care of everyone else. She's always been rather close to Claudio and is the only one that still supports him. She knows what he and the rest of the Giordono's do, including ----- Ricci and she doesn't approve, but she doesn't speak out about it either.

----- Ricci is a 24 year old hitman for the Giordono mafia group. He's practically part of the family. He has lived with the family since he was seven years old when he was orphaned and taken in by Claudio's father. He's certainly the smartest out of the three "Giordono" men but he doesn't speak his mind as often as the other two so most don't know that. He's been dating ---- Mancini pretty seriously for a few years now and doesn't plan on changing that. He doesn't mind his job but he doesn't want to do it forever. He hopes to someday be in charge of the Giordono mob or, if he and Mancini settle down, he hopes to be doing something completely unmob related.

------ Mancini is a 26 year old hitman for the Giordono mob. He is ---- mancini (24)'s older brother and is very protective of her. He's good friends with ----- ricci, but he doesn't like his sister being so closely involved with someone else in the mafia so he's always on the lookout for trouble. He's got a bit of a heroic complex but he's convinced himself that the murders he commits is for the common good. He's been rather attracted to Alessandra Santorini lately, however, so his loyalties may be changing soon.

Sorelli is a 23 year old flapper and dancer that's been dating Claudio Giordono for two years. She's posed as a pin-up girl a couple of times before and doesn't let anyone forget it. She's rather sweet but a bit clueless. She and her family immigrated here from Ireland (she's half Irish on her mother's side) when she was fifteen years old. She loves to party almost as much as she loves Claudio - and that's a lot. Someday, she hopes to be a famous model. She has no idea what the Giordono boys do for a living and doesn't really do much thinking about where they get all of their money.

The Santorini Family
"The Santorini's are in the greatest state of chaos, but they're so close to the gold that they can taste it and like a shark that's just gotten a whiff of blood, they're at their most dangerous."

No one likes to admit that a woman could do a job as well as a man, but even the toughest critic has to admit that it's obvious why 25-year-old Alessandra got the job of donna over her cousins when her father died. She's tough, frigid cold, and heartlessly cruel. She's a master temptress and seductress. What she wants, she gets and what she wants more than anything is to take down the Morettis at whatever costs. At one point in time, Alessandra had two older brothers, one of whom was supposed to have gotten the job of don once their father died. Charles Moretti had them killed however, and when Lorenzo Santorini died he had to choose between giving the job to a girl or to her idiot cousins. It's safe to say that he made the right choice.

26-yeard-old ----- Forgione is Alessandra's childhood best friend. He's a high-ranking hit man for the Santorini mob and also deals with much of their public negotiations. He's smart and smooth but also incredibly intimidating. He's got a secret soft spot for Alessandra but as far as everyone else believes, he's as hard and cold as a rock.

------ Santorini is Alessandra's oldest cousin at 30 years old. He was certain that he was going to get handed down the role of don and was rather angry when he didn't get it. He's made it his mission to find out why he was passed over and claim his rightful position from his cousin. He plays nice and goes along with being nothing more than a hitman in public, but he's always plotting behind Alessandra's back. Too bad he's more of a dreamer than a doer. Thus far he doesn't have a certain someone in his life but he's rarely without female company and his ego has only grown because of it.

------- Santorini is Alessandera's younger cousin at 24 years old. He didn't exactly expect to get the role of don but that doesn't mean that he didn't want it. He's a very ambitious young man who hasn't figured out who he is yet. He isn't cold-hearted necessarily, but he doesn't hate his job. He has his eye on a certain flapper that's been dating Claudio Giordono but he's only actually managed the courage to talk to her a few times and only when Claudio wasn't around.

The NYPD
"The NYPD are the law enforcers and peace keepers of New York. Plenty of them are just as scummy as the rest of the citizens and plenty are bought off by the mafia. Some, however, are simply trying to uphold a little justice."


jonathan ----- porter

Jonathan Porter is the 45 year old chief of the NYPD. He is a widower with no children and a secret that, once revealed, could destroy plenty of lives. Upholding the letter of the law is his life and he would do anything to make sure that everyone involved with the mob is taken down... even if it means murdering his best friend. He and Lia's father were incredibly close and after his death, Jonathan pretty much took over the role of father for Lia. What no one else knows however, is that Jonathan was actually the one who killed him.

----- ------ D'Luca is a 24-year-old male on the NYPD. He's fresh-faced and full of dreams that involve cleaning up New York City. He joined the force right after Lia's father was murdered. At first, his only goal was to keep his nose clean and do as he was told. Then, he was told to refile all of the old reports because the NYPD was getting new cabinets. He couldn't help his curiosity and read through a lot of them. When he came to the report that was filed on Lia's father's murder, he noticed that something was off. His inner detective kicked in and he has spent the past six months secretly trying to find out what exactly happened to Lothario Giovanni. He's started to catch on to Jonathan's true nature and if he isn't careful, he could very well endanger both himself and his young bride.
