i am looking at changes mainly for the 2k list here, but it could apply to the 1k list on the smaller scale

i shall concentrate on the troops first: i like the ghouls in this edition, and there really isn't much to say about them. my only concern is that without the option of full command, you are really needing to capitalise on kills and ranks! the former is not really a problem but i will explain that later, the kills are down to luck though, admittedly you are onto a good start though.

the Black Knights - i would say give them barding (no movement penalties), also give them Banner of Hellish Vigour, so that they can move freely. may benefit from a unit of Dire Wolves as support/to draw enemies in?

a Varghulf may be nice, level one mage and can help units march! its fluffy for Ghouls too! may need to drop a Ghoul unit to fit in though.

as nice as they are, i cannot see justification for the Blood Knights sub 3,000 points - they just eat up too many points.

my thinking with this edition is that that Wight King really needs swapping for a vampire. otherwise they are going to be very slow - also, keep him on foot.

also with this many Ghouls, take 'summon Ghouls' on any Vampire you can. Dark Acolyte would be a nice idea too!

don't think you need infinate hatred and dreadlance, but i shall check.

good start as far as i can tell, but i have been spending a lot of time pondering the various vamp powers/magic item combos, and i think your characters need looking at.

basically, you need as much magic as you can possibly get. try to figure out what items/powers will help you to use your magic, and where possible will do it for you? you have already taken Sceptre de Noirot, which is going to improve Raise Dead, but as i say above, Hellish Vigour will allow you to keep the black knights independent if needed, and if you can manage it, skull staff will give you auto +1 to cast, as will summon ghouls (on Ghoul units) and also allows you to increase their sizes.

also, where's the corpse cart? its a must! (this is going to be a standard phrase on VC lists that don't use at least one, so get used to it! wink.gif ) give the first one Lodestone.
