Title: Alright boys, new list for killyness!!!
Description: 2250 beasties of Tzeentch
Wargor Stuntie Slayer - September 13, 2008 08:23 PM (GMT)
Ok, I need a new list. I don't want to be spending to much, so i go with tzeentch, effective, and expensive point-wise models!!!
Lord:
Beastlord of Tzeentch, Chaos armour, shield, sword of might: 268 pts.
Heroes:
Wargor of Tzeentch, heavy armour, shield: 136 pts.
Lvl. 2 bray shaman, lore of beasts, 2 dipel scrolls, braystaff: 166
wargor of tzeentch, heavy armour, shield, biting blade: 146 pts.
Core:
12/5 herd for the beastlord with standard and musician: 104 pts.
7/5 herd for the shaman, musician, standard: 69 pts.
5/5 ambush herd for the wargor: 55 pts.
5 chaos hounds: 30
5 chaos hounds: 30
Tuskgor Chariot, mark of tzeentch: 105 pts.
Tuskgor chariot, Mark of Tzeentch: 105 pts.
15 tzaangors for the 2nd wargor, Full command: 230 pts.
Special:
5 centigors, shields, musician: 102 pts.
3 minotaurs of tzeentch, great weapons: 158 pts.
Rare:
3 dragon ogres, light armour, great weapons:237 pts.
Shaggoth, light armour, great weapon: 306 pts.
the total comes to 2247 pts. i think i have enough heavy hitters with 2 chariots, minos, dragon ogres, and a shaggoth. the centigors and ambush herd are good for chariot and lone mage hunting. tzaangors are just there as a support unit, and to generate more dice.
oh, i forgot:
Power Dice: 12
dispel dice: 6 and 2 scrolls

I actually really like this list. One reccomendation though, how but you try one of those super herd thiungs. Those seem to work effectively.
Grarrzag - September 14, 2008 03:45 AM (GMT)
I've tried the whole super-herd thing before, wasn't that effective, to me it was just a large expensive herd...
Looks like a pretty good list, go and wewp a$$ with it!
Wargor Stuntie Slayer - September 14, 2008 10:52 PM (GMT)
@Kroq-Gar: Thanks, but I tried a super herd kinda thing at a mega battle... all it took to kill it was a unit of Silver Helms and a Lion Chariot to charge it... the heard was completely destroyed as well as my beastlord. I find that having multiple small herds to take objectives are very useful though, my side nearly one the game cuz i took one early on with an ambush herd and my teammate tied everybody up so they couldn't get to it.
@Grarrzag: Thanks, I plan too!

I think that if you have a comp. friendly enviroment where you live, you would get hammered on comp. Yes it is a very effective list, but seriously, 15 powerdice? It seems abit OTT.( I count 15 powerdice, not 12) I reackon you could build a better list, less hero heavy, with more Beast herds.

I count 16:
Basic army pool (2)
1 lvl 4 (4)
3 lvl 2s (6)
2 chariots (2)
1 tzaangor unit (1)
1 minotaur unit (1)
=16
Lord Gargarim - September 16, 2008 07:52 AM (GMT)
Yes woops, I missed the Minotaurs. This is even worse. It is very OTT.

@ everybody: thanks for the replies, and helping me figure out the powerdice. Ya, I will probably be hammered on comp (might escape the worst of it just because I'm playing beasts), and my painting points will only be average, but if I can pull off some wins (I get better every time i play :) ), and be sportsmanly and fav. opponent and all that stuff, I might be able to get up there in the rankings!
Lord Gargarim - September 22, 2008 04:30 AM (GMT)
With that many powerdice, you could be Dogs of war and you still would get hammered. I would drop the powerdice down to 10 at the max. This way you will only be slightly hammered on comp.
Wargor Stuntie Slayer - September 23, 2008 11:21 PM (GMT)
i don't care about comp. seeing as if I go to a turney there will be super-hard elves and VC lists and the like, I need to be hard back, as long as i play it right, this list could be mighty hard!
Kroq-gar - September 28, 2008 02:23 PM (GMT)
Maybe you should change the list some, since you somewhat foun out what seemed to be lacking in your list in the game yesterday against me?
Lord Gargarim - September 29, 2008 08:48 PM (GMT)
What happened in the game?
Wargor Stuntie Slayer - September 29, 2008 09:51 PM (GMT)
Well, I mainly blame myself for not anticipating the amazingness of daemons and the underpoweredness of beasts (and partly blame myself for tactics) but i think the list is Ok.
Lord Gargarim, I put up a hell of a fight against Daemons. I dragged it a good while, managed to take 4-5 wounds off a GUO with the Shaggoth, but poor leadership and being outkilled in alot of combats pushed me to the edge, and in turn 4 or 5 i had to concede. i killed off almost an entire unit of plaguebearers, i killed a herald, and killed one of 4 units of horrors (and nearly killed another). He really destroyed me in the end though, because my magic wasn't doing good against the plaguebearer's regeneration and ward saves....

Stick with what you've got  you could play a balanced army and still get womped on comp <_<.
warhound of chaos - October 3, 2008 02:48 PM (GMT)
Shaggoth and bigger Herds are quite much liabilities for competitive beasts at the moment. Except real superherds, which are still OK. Shaggoth should be changed to Minotaurs and Chariots, much more effective use of points(ASF is seen more regularly= Chariots=Gold and Minotaurs are just bad-ass like always.
Commissar Craig - October 3, 2008 11:35 PM (GMT)
I'm going to have to agree with Woc on two points. The Shaggoth isn't all that great under the 7th ed rules, if you want something big and scary go with Dragon Ogres. Also Chariots are liquid gold, their a good investment both in money and points. Go with Chariots for your Core.

Shaggoth has it's uses IMO. Not the greatest, but shaggoth+giant is a great combo. They either shoot the giant down or shoot the shaggoth down. The rest of your army survives and you have a large terror causer in their lines :D Chariots are very good also. If they wereny so expensive (mony wise) I'd buy more of them.

Or they can shoot both  or tie them up with skirmishers ;). I use Zombies their free and nether giant or Shaggoth will kill enough of them.
