Title: How do I paint:

Grarrzag - April 29, 2008 01:42 AM (GMT)
Hey guys,
I need advice on how to paint a certain version of the bestigor, more specifically his "skirt"

Advice would be apreciated (the first one on the front left)

I want to paint the skirt itself red, but it is the square things I cannot think of painting, should I start by painting the skirt red, and then paint the squares black, and the drybrush the square sheets of metal?

How would you do it?

Thanks for the advice,
G.
:)

Quite simple.

Put a coat of red on everything on the 'skirt' to make sure you dont leave a spot unpainted. Then paint the squares with some metallic colour (Boltgun metal works good, or if you want a rich look brazen brass) Then if their is screws on the metal squares paint them a different metallic colour. Then possible a ink job and you should be ok. Making the belt a different colour could help too.

Hope that helps

actually if you go with Gromzarg's idea of red and bronze you could get some tips from the GW website for 'how to paint Harad' in the LOTR section

damn i cant stand these models and i'm glad mine are painted albeit not that good and not red. for the red i would stick with a dark metal rather than the brass and gold route unless you want them to look like khornigors rather than bestigors. the scaly type guy is the hardest armor to distinguish the skirt from the metal but the other aren't to bad
