WELCOME
This is a world that is on the brink of change, a world having to come to terms with what mankind has produced from itself. This is a world where the Phoenix force tired of Professor X and Magneto wasting their potential to change the world for good and rewound them in time to give them a second chance. This is a world where mutants are hated and feared, where superhero teams like the Avengers never occurred because who would trust a person with powers strange and incomprehensible?

In short, this is a world where anything is possible, timelines have been rewritten and the entire mutant question is a new and terrifying one. Starting from the beginning, our world is only just realising the extent of the talents that can be born out of the human genome and how it deals with the rise of mutants and superhumans...well, that's up to you.

"Hm, what do you think of this one?" She asked her companion. She had dragged the poor soul to the shopping mall, insisting she wanted his opinion. In truth, she really just needed another set of arms so she wouldn't have to carry everything all by her lonesome. At the present moment, she had already forced him to carry a pair of jeans, two dresses and a half dozen tops, all of which she would be trying on in about five minutes. The dress she held in her hands was a lovely little cream dress with lace details. Perfect for the warmer weather that was coming.

Not really waiting for his opinion, she tossed the dress onto the pile and moved on. She perused the racks of clothes like she was flipping through a magazine. Every single piece of clothing was pulled out, inspected, promptly followed with comments. "Hm, no…no…hell no, God, who would buy that?" She had pulled out some strange looking orange dress that looked like the bad end of the 80's. She put it back quickly, wiping her hands like it was diseased or something. "I will never understand why people wore stuff like that back then…I mean, it's just gross…"

Picking up the clothes out of her companion's arms, she pranced off to the dressing rooms. "Come on, slow poke." She called to him as she reached her destination. Once safely inside closed doors, Jubilee quickly stripped down and started trying on clothes. She tried on the first dress, crinkled her nose and quickly took it off. The second one was a dud too, so she decided to try on the jeans before trying on the lace number. The first set of jeans were a dud, but the second looked positively stellar. She pulled on a frilly sort of top and she knew she was in love.

Popping out of the dressing room after several minutes of admiring herself and just general ruling out of other outfits, she did a little spin in the larger mirrors. Turning to her companion, she asked, "Hey, so what do you think? Don't I look cute?"

Forge simply huffed under his breath as he carried the seeming mountain of clothing (okay so maybe he was over exaggerating a bit here) behind the other as they walked through the store. He wasn't the happiest of campers at this moment. But then again...shopping was not his forte here people! Not at all. Even if it was something he went out to get himself for something he needed. Sheesh! Give him the oil and the mechanics and the inventions any day!

Ohhh how did he even get himself into this mess again?! He had been minding his own business! Not doing a thing but eating actually. His stomach had decided it had enough of this...being empty thing and so he had been eating a sandwich (the ever popular meal on the go) in the kitchen (for a change) when she had approached him to ask him if he would join her. Jubilee was a sweet girl. She really was. But my god she could be such a persistent one! Jesus Christ! He hadn't really wanted to go anywhere today. And he had told her this and that he had some things to do in the tech area. But being the ever persistent one, after a while--he couldn't help but just say yes.

Course he didn't foresee himself becoming the carrier in this equation (as he . But he didn't say anything. They were already there. And it was only for the day anyways. It wasn't like they could spend the night after all (for which he was glad of) And he would be making sure that this would be one of the only times (or one of the rare times) that he let Jubilee talk him into this.

It wasn't that he didn't like the other. Cause he did. The other's company wasn't a bad thing at all. He just felt so...lost. Yep lost was a god word for it. He wasn't one to really care about clothes too much. So long as it was clean, had no holes and looked decent--brands meant nothing to him. And so he was out of his element here. He felt out of place. A little nervy even. He just came in, got clothes, paid for them and walked back out. None of this other stuff. But he was dealing with it. For the sake of it. This just showed how much he was willing to do sometimes just to keep the peace....

He snorted as the other called him a slow poke. Who was the slow one now? She was the one looking at everything. He was joking. He didn't really care to be honest. He waited as she tried on this and that and as she asked him how she looked, he nodded. "Looks good." he said. And he had meant it. He was honest. It did look good.

Continuing to admire herself in the mirror, she looked over her shoulder at Forge when he made his comment. "Um, well, yeah, of course it looks good. I was hoping for something more along the lines of in-depth analysis from ya." She paused, turning her head back to the mirror, "Then again, you are the guy who lurks in the basement all hours of the day." Eyes back on him, she told him, "We should probably get some stuff for you too. Lord knows you need something…I dunno, clean? You know, not threadbare?"

A little more posing in the mirror and she decided she was definitely getting this outfit. There were still a couple tops she wanted to try on, so off she darted into the change room. Stripping off her top, she pulled on the next one. It was grey with explosions of colourful graphics all over. Cute, but it wasn't really doing anything for her. So off it went to the growing 'no' pile. The next top had a similar fate. Upon further inspection, she realized none of these other tops were going to make the cut. Pity.

After pulling on the clothes she came in with, she first came out with the clothes she wasn't buying and putting them on the rack that was allocated for them. Returning to the change room, she scooped up the jeans and top she had shown to Forge earlier and strode over to his side. "Alright, I'm gonna get these ones." She then walked over to the cashier so the woman there could ring her up. After the appropriate exchange of money and clothing was done, Jubilee was handed her purchase. "Alrighty then, any thoughts on where we should go next? Oh! I know! We should get some frozen yogurt! I have the biggest craving for some right now."

In depth analysis?

Well shoot if she wanted that--then she was asking the wrong man. If she was asking about something technological or mechanical--then sure, he could have given an in depth analysis out of his ears! But clothes? Not his element. He was clueless really. A simply yes or no usually worked for him in this area of things. And he was a simple man when it came to clothes for himself. As long as it was clean with no holes in it--that was just fine with him.

He couldn't help but snort and his eyebrow rose near to his hairline as she spoke again. Threadbare? Clean? What the--? He laughed. She had no idea did she? Nope. None at all. She didn't know of the variety of nice clothes he did have. He just didn't work in them was all. He shook his head, "I happen to like the clothes I have Jubilee. Thanks anyways. Plus I got a bunch of non work clothes already. No use is wearing something nice around oil, mechanics and fuel now is there?" There. His point had been made. And that was that (-include mental smug smirk here-) He wasn't a slob.

He waited for her to finish with her clothes. Still wondering how he got into this. But hey. It was all right. It could have been worse. He wasn't complaining. Confused? Maybe. (Certainly there were many people she knew who were better at this then he was) Complaining about it? Nah.

She walked out with the clothes she wanted...and put the clothes she didn't where they needed to go. "All right. Sounds good." he said as she mentioned which one she got. Well that was done. It seemed to be anyways. She mentioned frozen yogurt and that was definitely something he could get behind a little bit more then clothes criticizing. "Sure. Sounds like a plan. Where's it at?" he asked. Yep. It worked for him. What could he say?

Jubes sighed and rolled her eyes at his words. "Fine, have it your way. Just don't come whining to me when someone asks you out and you have no idea what to wear." She pointed accusingly at him, eyes narrowing slightly. "You have been warned." This was promptly followed by her sticking her tongue out at him. He wanted to be like that? Fine. She knew full well that it was entirely possible to have nice work clothes that could handle being down and dirty. But if he wanted to believe he had nice stuff, it was obvious nothing she said would change his mind.

Clothing bag in hand, she strode out the shop, pausing only to make sure Forge was keeping up. A smile returned to her face as he agreed with her plans for a bite to eat. "The place I'm thinking of is in the food court. Not far, but the foot traffic can be pretty out there for this time of day. I swear, this place seriously needs an expansion or something. Because, honestly? Way too crowded. Not to say that it's not great. It is, totally. It's just getting hard to breathe, since this place is, like, the only one around. I mean, it's close for like everyone so of course everyone'll go, but still." She paused for a minute, realizing she was rambling. Looking over to him with an apologetic look on her face, she told him, "Sorry. Rambling. Your ears aren't bleeding, right?"

Eventually, after weeding through the various throngs of people, Jubilee located the frozen yogurt place. "Ah, here we are." Looking back to Forge, she added, "This place is amazing. Dozen different flavours, fresh fruit, all the good stuff. Plus, awesomely short line!" She gestured widely to two people in front of them that constituted a line. Eyeing the menu, she was mentally going through the various combinations to figure out which she wanted. "I don't suppose you already know what you're getting?" She asked Forge, not really looking at him.
