WELCOME
This is a world that is on the brink of change, a world having to come to terms with what mankind has produced from itself. This is a world where the Phoenix force tired of Professor X and Magneto wasting their potential to change the world for good and rewound them in time to give them a second chance. This is a world where mutants are hated and feared, where superhero teams like the Avengers never occurred because who would trust a person with powers strange and incomprehensible?

In short, this is a world where anything is possible, timelines have been rewritten and the entire mutant question is a new and terrifying one. Starting from the beginning, our world is only just realising the extent of the talents that can be born out of the human genome and how it deals with the rise of mutants and superhumans...well, that's up to you.

Welcome to Wake of Humanity, an AU Marvel roleplay opened in May 2011 that accepts both canons and OCs and where any facets of any Marvel-verse continuity can be drawn upon when crafting a character. We are an 18+ site with an emphasis on gritty realism, character-driven story development and being a relaxed roleplay community where everyone has bountiful options for joining in the plotting since organic is how we roll.

Kitchen
To house so many people and keep them fed, the Xavier Institute Kitchen is rather large. It's up to date with all the most high-tech and gourmet appliances and accessories, and the staff make sure to keep it well stocked. Three meals a day are made by the Institute's chef and sous, though attendance is not mandatory. Students are welcome to putter about at any time, though they best clean up after themselves, as the chef has been known to have a temper.

A small table that seats eight is in the kitchen for meals not taken in the dining room.

Dining Room
The large dining room is right off of the kitchen with a massive table that seats fifty. Meals are served at eight am, noon and seven pm every day, and students and staff alike can choose to partake or not.

Room 203 - Ali Blaire
Ali's room is surprisingly tidy and organised, which has surprised some of her contemporaries because it's blatantly not in her character. She has a variety of trinkets and collectables related to her taste in music, and has recently moved her guitar up from her camper van, so it hangs from a wall. She has multiple posters dedicated to Bowie, and her CD's - since she still prefers them to digital - are all arranged in a carefully filed alphabetical format on shelves. The only exceptions to this oddly mature and tidy side to Ali is her bed - which is always messy and unmade, and a conspicuous mini-fridge which, she claims, 'is just for snacks'.

Room 205 - Illyana Rasputin
Winter Wonderland. Snow Princess. Ice Witch. Her bedroom is shades of warm whites and silver, from the heavy fabrics around the window to the comforter on her bed. Wall panels rest atop white-blue paint, the only coverings on the walls. By far her bed is the centerpiece, a four-poster silvery-white carved wood frame, always neatly made with a set of three pillows. A mirrored-glass end-table borders the bed and a matching wardrobe rests against a wall. Physic textbooks and Russian novels line glass bookshelves, but not enough to fill them. She keeps her desk neat and clean, along with the rest of her room, housing only a single Byzantine icon whereas her end-table houses a little altar. A crucifix hangs above her door, a candle in a red holder hanging from the ceiling in a corner, the religious paraphernalia especially striking as they're the only colors brought into the room. They're also the only addition Illyana has made to the room as it was decorated to begin with by her brother and Storm to welcome her to the Institute and make her feel more comfortable having her own, private room for the first time in her life.

Room 206 - Eli Contreras
Right now, Eli's room consists of two and a half boxes and a duffel bag of his stuff, but sooner rather than later he'll begin adding craziness back to the mix. Basic set up - bed, dresser-type-thing, desk. Very plain and un-ornamented, save sketches taped to the walls around the desk.

Room 208 - Laurie Collins
Laurie's room is what one might expect from a quiet, bookworm kind of girl. Her bookcase is overflowing with various books, her single bed is straight and tidy, and everything has it's place. Aside form the bed, and bookcase, there's a simple dresser and a desk in the corner with a lamp. A few photo's are scattered here and there, as well as some personal items, but otherwise, it's a fairly normal, tidy looking room.

Room 209 - Jay Guthrie
Fairly minimal - nothing too cluttered, tall or fragile for his wings to risk knocking over. The bed is ridiculously large to accommodate Jay's wings; in the same way, the desk chair is backless.

Room 210 - Levi Christiansen
Perhaps its an homage....but Levi's room has a distinctly African Savannah vibe to it. From the walls to the furniture, Levi made it so it was like a little slice of home away from home.

Room 211 - Melody Guthrie
Silver door-knobs in the shape of hands cover two opposing walls of her room, each attached to a square drawer that seamlessly fit together. From floor to ceiling, it's a maze of storage space, and she can float up to those outside her reach. A rainbow of rope-lights covers her ceiling and continue down the walls to create a thick curtain over her door and window. A lomme bed rests atop the white hardwood floor. Glow in the dark, multicolored footprints create winding paths over the white drawers, changing when Mel gets bored and decides to repaint as she petitioned to keep leftover paint. It's unnerving, which was exactly what she was going for when she finally decided she might as well design the room. She didn't want anything that could remotely make her think of home.

Room 213 - Paige Guthrie
Paige's room is rather messy, as if she hasn't time to keep it tidy or doesn't care to...depending on the day either explanation is valid. The bed is never made, sheets and quilt (the latter brought with her from back home in Kentucky) always left in a twisted tangle from her constant tossing and turning during the night. Fluppy is also usually found somewhere on the bed, always loving scooped up from the floor and replaced in his rightful spot when she’s had a particularly restless night. The desk is covered with lesson plans for upcoming classes and papers she has yet to grade, while the floor is home to randomly discarded clothes, which are usually dropped haphazardly when she undresses rather than placed in the basket that sits in the corner for just such a purpose. Finding bits and pieces of previously shed skin is not uncommon either, left over from those moments where she just didn’t have the extra time to shower. Various pictures of the assorted members of the Guthrie clan are littered throughout the room, with a picture of Paige as a tow-headed toddler laughing with her father holding the place of honor on her nightstand.

Room 220 - Casey Tavernier
Being in Casey's room is like being transported to the Rocky Mountains. A gorgeous mountain mural is on the wall above her bed and everything else is decorated like the mountains.

Room 222 - Molly Hayes
Molly’s room could be considered cluttered but not truly messy. The walls are white, and decorated with an assortment of posters of musicians (Lady Gaga and Pink), cartoon and video game characters, along with some of her own artwork. The curtains are white, and the bed has a blue/purple/green color combination sheet and blanket set. Also on the bed is a rather well-loved Gir doll. A set of bookshelves over a writing desk holds her favorite books , comics and stuffed animals, and a box near the closet contains her rather extensive hat collection. The hats tend to migrate though; with some ending up on the bed and others perching on the chair to her desk. The desk itself is covered in pens, pencils, paper, and different drawings in various stages of completion.
