This is a world that is on the brink of change, a world having to come to terms with what mankind has produced from itself. This is a world where the Phoenix force tired of Professor X and Magneto wasting their potential to change the world for good and rewound them in time to give them a second chance. This is a world where mutants are hated and feared, where superhero teams like the Avengers never occurred because who would trust a person with powers strange and incomprehensible?
In short, this is a world where anything is possible, timelines have been rewritten and the entire mutant question is a new and terrifying one. Starting from the beginning, our world is only just realising the extent of the talents that can be born out of the human genome and how it deals with the rise of mutants and superhumans...well, that's up to you.

Eli halfway smiled at his friend, at the concept of this strange new discovery of mutanthood. ”There are worse ways to find out, I think.” He looked up at the rooftop and then back down to David with a skeptical expression. ”Lo siento. I'm stuck on the “not being dead” part, asere. Everything else is just, uh, less importante.” It really was. Eli wasn't sure he cared about the “whoah, sudden mutant” factor, but then again, he had still been a mutant before he discovered his teleportation powers, so there was not much change for him. The concept of David still being alive was his focus right now, and Eli couldn't care less if the man sprouted horns and turned green with yellow spots as long as he was still living.
When David moved to lean against him, Eli stayed still, momentarily tempted to do his usual and throw an arm around his friend but he was reminded that guys usually did not appreciate that gesture so he avoided it. The earlier “flirting” from David was completely forgotten in the wake of an almost-death, and so it was by sheer habit that Eli even thought of the gesture.
”Don't worry so much, Casablanca.” Eli began, watching as David fretted about how long ago he should have realized he was a mutant. He screwed up his face in concentration, the effort of remembering and counting a little too much for an intoxicated Spook. ”Yo pienso that I was... almost eight when the tattoos and otras cosas kicked in, and I dunno if the teleporting was there too, but I didn't get that until I was fourteen.” He paused, then continued with a questioning tone because Eli doubted his own ability to remember stuff that he'd rather forget most days. ”Well, I kind of did what you did. Stumbled upon it. Just less “almost deathy” and more “yay escapey”.”
The request for a cell-phone brought Eli back to reality, and he fished in a pocket before pulling out his own and handing it to David. ”Un momento.” With that, Eli faded out, reappearing on the rooftop to grab the man's cell-phone and debating with his questionable morals and common sense about whether to grab the alcohol. The answer was no at the moment, but he'd probably be back up here sooner or later to grab them anyway. Another poof led him back down to the ground floor, where he plopped himself back down next to David, handing him the phone.
A moment of discomfort was evident as Eli debated The Right Thing To Do, and his conscience won out over his fear. ”Do you need to go to the hospital or something?” Eli had heard stories about how mutants were treated there, but fortunately he avoided danger and/or creepy ass sanitary places that reminded him of his one-year home. He really did not want to go to the hospital with David, but if push came to shove, he'd at least make sure the man got there in one piece.

He laughed a little bit. "Yeah, I guess the not being dead bit is kinda important here…" Gaze went to the sky as he meandered through his thoughts. "Well, I'm pretty sure I don't have invulnerability or whatever seeing as I still can get hurt…" Pursing his lips, he looked back to Eli. "Maybe I'm, like, super durable or something…" He half shrugged, wincing a little at the attempt of movement from his dislocated shoulder. Oh right, there was still that to deal with.
As he listened to Eli relay his own tale of woe, David felt oddly comforted. Yes, he was just finding out he was a mutant now. But it was nice having someone around who understood what he was feeling. Granted, he was heavily intoxicated so thinking clearly was proving more difficult than usual. However, the request for his cellphone had been made and David found himself holding Eli's phone as Eli took off to grab David's phone. He stared at the phone for a bit, trying to remember why he wanted it in the first place. He must have had a brain fart, because he honestly couldn't remember why.
A second phone was handed to him. Ah, this one was his. David returned Eli's phone before picking up his own, shoving it into his pocket so he wouldn't lose it. Then he was asked if he needed to go to a hospital. Looking from his shoulder, then back to Eli, he told him, "Um…yeah, might be a good idea…Unless you know how to pop a shoulder back in…" He laughed nervously in an effort to levy the mood. Then he had a sudden moment of clarity. "Hey, I think there's a clinic around here that's mutant friendly…Um…Shit, what was it called?" He tapped the side of his head. "Gah, I don't know, I just know there is one. Passed by it a couple times…We could go there if hospitals don't sit too well with you…"

Eli gave one of his “I have no fucking idea, man” shrugs towards David at the mutation suggestions he was making. Hell, it could be all kinds of things. Devil knows that it took Eli a lot of tries to figure out that his own mutation wasn’t just some weird power that took away all of his breathing air and made the world go all wonky. Spook sure wasn’t going to come up with the answer while drunk, that was certain. He could barely science (yes, science is a verb) when he was sober, let alone drunk. Right now, Eli was much more apt to blame magic than anything else. Blame Harry Potter for all he cared, he was edging toward wanting sobriety anyways, as the fear of the situation kept leaking into his system and making things worse.
The phone was pocketed back to where it belonged, and Eli contented himself with fiddling with switching a few rings around on his fingers in a half-hearted attempt to distract himself. The gods knew that Eli would switch them back anyways, but that wasn’t the point, as the action in and of itself was unrelated to anything. Simply a distraction. It was needed as David suggested hospitals, since that suggestion brought up another wave of quiet, irrational fear-laced paranoia.
”No, I know where to go.’ And it would not be a hospital or a clinic, which was just a tiny hospital. Eli was completely unaware that one of Xavier’s own was working at the particular clinic David suggested, so he still viewed it in exactly the same light as before. Even with that knowledge, Eli would be deign to go there, but, ugh, Xavier’s was so far away, and this mutant clinic was looking better and better. Drunk Eli was happy go lucky as always, but drunk Eli was also more prone to paranoia, and this particular drunk Eli couldn’t figure out what to do. ”Mierda,” He ran a hand through his hair before rubbing at the base of his skull while he thought, coming to a decision as he did. ”We’ll go to the clinic, but I’ll wait outside and do something else, ‘kay?” There was no point in making David suffer when it was Eli’s paranoia that would cause it.

Given that Eli apparently did not have any theories as to what sort of mutant he was, David decided to drop this particular line of dialogue. David nodded at Eli's idea. While he was fairly certain this place was a place safe for mutants, he wasn't going to push Eli one way or another. Drunk or not, David needed Eli right now. Closing his eyes for a moment, he took in several deep breaths in an effort to calm himself. Pushing against the wall with his back, he slowly got up. They needed to get out of here, preferably now.
Eventually, David was on his feet, one hand cradling his injured arm. Being as drunk as he was, keeping himself upright would have been incredibly difficult if it weren't for the wall he was leaning against. Tempted as he was to just get Eli to teleport them over there, he wasn't entirely trusting that he could get them there in one piece while intoxicated. Like driving while impaired, it just seemed like a bad idea. Taking a few steps towards the street, he looked back to Eli, "We should probably catch a cab. No offence, dude, but I don't know how well you handle passengers when drunk teleporting." He chuckled a little bit. As fun as that might have been, David didn't really want to risk something going wrong. So, he began his slow walk to the sidewalk. It was time to catch a cab and get that arm of his fixed up. Then, he was so gonna crash.
