REGISTRATION!!- Please register with your character's code name in proper capitalization, for example: Wolverine. If your character doesn't have a code name, register with First Last, also in proper caps. Ex: Jean Grey.
- All Players, that's you, must be eighteen years or older.
- All characters and play-bys must be at least sixteen years of age.
- No scene queens or kings or internet models - actors, professional models and musicians only, please.
- All play-bys must be alive.
- As a rule, unless you can make a ridiculously convincing argument for it, PBs and characters are expected to be within +/- 5 years of each other. The obvious exceptions are any characters with slowed/delayed aging, Asgardians etc.
UNIVERSE!!- It has been decided that mutant/superhero powers are fantastical enough. We have opted to make WoH a non-magic board. Should your canon character have 'magical' powers, please pm an Admin, and they will assist you with skewing them to be more scientific.
- Again, in order to keep a balance there are currently some bans on original characters. For a list of current bans, check out this thread.
- AMNESIA is currently banned across the board, for canon and original alike, unless it can be proven that it is, in fact, canon.
ACTIVITY!!- There is no current character limit. However, there are certain expectations of activity and if at any point in time we feel you are taking on more than you can handle, the admins may ask you to back it down. This also applies in relation to our 300 word requirement per post and the three strikes rule that goes along with it.
- Since the heart to every site is the activity of its members, we expect you to be active. You must post for each character once every seven days. If you fail to do this, your character may be taken from you. Originals can be killed off, and canons will be put up for adoption.
- To be allowed your SECOND character, your last character must have been accepted 7 or more days ago AND have 15 or more IC posts, with no posts owed that have been outstanding for more than a month. 14 of those 15 posts must be in a thread with another character. Only one one-shot will count towards the collection of posts for a new character.
- After your second character, to be allowed any subsequent characters you must meet the above standards except your last character must have been accepted fourteen days or more ago, to prevent people too quickly taking on too many characters without showing they can handle them first.
- Activity checks will be held once a month, lasting for seven days. If you miss an activity check, your original character can be killed off and your canon can be put up for adoption.
- Since death is permanent (unless the Phoenix gets involved) to reduce the risk of canon characters being taken out of play forever without having been 'earned', no canon characters can be killed until they have 300 IC posts.
WRITING!!- Don't godmod. It's annoying, and we won't stand for it.
- No mary-sues.
- Don't meta, almost as annoying as godmoding, and we also won't stand for it.
- We have a site wide word count of 300 words. This does not include quotes or song lyrics! If you need to be reminded to beef it up three times, you will not be allowed to apply for another character, until your writing is a little beefier, at the discretion of the staffers!
- As this is an intermediate to advanced rp, we expect a decent grasp of grammar and spelling. No one's gonna freak over commas or a misspelled word, but just keep an eye out.
- This board was skinned as is to make the font legible. Size 1 is acceptable as long as it is not paired with fonts that make it appear smaller. The staff will alter it for you the first time, and after that, well mister, you'll just be in trouble.
GRAPHICS!!- You must choose a celebrity representative for your character. No drawn what-nots.
- Signatures are to be no larger than 530x250. Avatars are to be no larger than 150x200.
- No animated/gif graphics in any permanent posts.
- No nudity.
CBOX- Don't spam in the cbox.
- Don't advert in the cbox.
- Don't nag for posts, threads, plots or anything, really, in the cbox. The polite question here and there is fine, but if you're constantly posting 'who wants to thread/plot with me?' or poking at people to reply to your threads then you're actively ruining the relaxed, casual atmosphere we like to have in the cbox. If you want plots, go to people's plot pages rather than expecting everyone else to do all the work, then trust that we'll do the same in return.
RATING- This site is rated NC-17. Hence the rule of players 18 and older. There will be violence, sex, drugs, rock and roll. No, we're not a porn site, and don't turn it into one, but you can say fuck as much as you please.
