Rhydian jacked the power pack into a Spartan Laser, then slung the weapon and set about polishing his AR (Assault Rifle) and sidearm.
Slinging the AR, he holstered the pistol and wandered over to the viewport and stared at the planet ourside the window. Glass. Almost the entire surface of the planet was angry black. One area, though, stood out like a sore thumb, visible to the naked eye even from this distance.
Five hundred thousand square miles of the planet's surface was completely covered with alien plants. The Brutes were slowly "Bruteforming" the planet, similar to the way that humans had terraformed Reach, Eridanus II, and otehr planets. As such, although the atmosphere was quite breathable, even outside the vegitated area, wandering outside the area meant almost certain death if you stayed out there too long, as much of the said surface was so radioactive that it could penetrate UNSC battleplate, and energy shields.
Rhydian turned his back on the orb floating serenly outside the viewport, and immediately almost collided with another Spartan.
