Well? Have a good book you just can't wait to share?

Myself, I just finished reading The Ladies of Grace Adieu which is the short story collection going with Suzanna Clark's Johnathan Strange and Mr. Norrell which I just absolutely love. Highly recommend it to anyone who likes alternate history and fantasy. Supposedly there is a film of it being worked up but news has rater slowed down for it so I'm not quite sure how that is going. I'll have to poke around the internet for more information.

Right now I'm reading The Golden Compass. ^^; I like it so far, but I'm only on Chapter 7.

I just recently finished catching up on the au pairs, except for the second book. ^^; They were really good. happy.gif

Sounds interesting, Fergie! I'm a bit of a history buff, myself, so I love most books that take an alternate twist on things. :]

I'm reading BRAVE STORY by Miyuki Miyabi right now. I'm not very far into it just yet, but what I have read, I've liked a lot. The book was just translated and printed in the US in July of last year, because it was first written in Japanese.

The gist of the story is about a fifth-grade boy named Wataru whose life is falling down around him after his mother's attempted suicide and his father abandoning him. He attempts to change his fate by venturing into this alternate universe, filled with the mysterious and fantastical, to plead with a goddess of fate for a change in his life.

It's a very engrossing story. I like it a lot.

I'm actually reading several books right now. Two of them are for a new reading program that my school is making everyone do and then the other two I'm just reading for the my own personal enjoyment.

I'm almost done with The Da Vinci Codeby Dan Brown. It's really intresting and even though they have those boring moments it can be a real page turner.

I'm also in the middle of a book called Peeps by Scott Westerfeld which is, from what I'm getting at, about this disease, that turning people into these parasite type creatures, and the way these people are getting it is having sexual intercourse with carriers kind of like STDs/AIDS. I can't really say too much about it, but its pretty weird and the narrator likes to talk about how he is always horny.

I'm not too sure about it, but my teacher told me to read it she said it was good, so yeah...

The other two are Death Note by Tsugumi Ohba (I'm guessing thats how you spell it) most of you know what Death Note is, but just to sum it up it's about a college kid named Light who finds a Notebook that has the power to kill people.

And last but not least I'm picking up The Little Friend by Donna Tartt. I began reading it than had to stop because I was getting behind on the books I should be reading for school, but its about a little boy living Mississippi and his family finds him dead hanging from a tree in there backyard and no one has a clue to who done it, years later his little sister Harriet tries to solve her brother's mysterious death.

I have been incredibly busy lately so I had zero time to read. Also, I know how horrible I am at summing stories up. :[

How ironic is it that I almost bought Peeps a few days ago? ;]

Is it good? If so, I might have to borrow from the library or something.

I'll tell you when I'm done with it. I'm still a tad bit unsure of it yet plus the narrator, I forgot his name, likes to go on these long biology rants.

Awesome. Thanks. ;]

Anyway, the more I get into BRAVE STORY, the more I love it. It's incredibly well-written, and you get sucked in easily. I seriously recommend it to all of you.
