Your Name: Meggles

Character's Name: Antonia Meredith Carlowe
Nickname: Tony (almost everyone forgets her full name; even teachers call her Tony)

Age: 16 (DOB: December 3)

Race: Human

Wand Type: Cherry, phoenix feather, 14''

Special Abilities: n/a

Hobbies: Horseback riding, soccer, Quidditch, swimming

Year: 6

Physical Description:

Tony is about 5'9'', lean and muscular from physical activity. She has long brown hair, but never styles it much more than a ponytail. She has dark, chocolate brown eyes (she calls them "mud brown"). Her skin is naturally tanned, and is varying degrees of tan throughout the year. She has several scars from childhood and sporting accidents, the most notable one where a Bludger collided with her knee when she was twelve. She usually has small scrapes or bruises -- she's never really one to sit inside a bubble.

Tony is very pretty naturally, but she doesn't recognize this. She doesn't ever wear make-up on a daily basis, usually only applying a very light layer for family dinners or other special events. Her hair remains unstyled and unlayered, rarely more special than a ponytail. She dresses casually in practical clothing that she can move comfortably in. If she can't play a sport in something, she usually won't wear it. Dresses are out of the question most of the time.

Personality:

Tony is friendly, outgoing, and competitive. She is mostly happy and doesn't really brood on anything trivial or insignificant. She gets along with most people unless they offend her or someone close to her. She tends to hold a grudge until someone has proven his/her worth. When she gets angry, she usually doesn't "snap", but rather falls back into the aristocratic aloofness that her parents pressed into her. She has a stubborn streak and is hard to sway once she's set on a path. She is very bright, catching on quickly to new ideas, and often gets into trouble because she is bored with her classes. Sometimes, she is rebellious just to be rebellious; she doesn't want her parents to think they have her under control, like her older sister. Tony consciously resists their idea of what a proper young lady should be.

Her closest friends are guys and she hangs out with boys most of the time. Girls are nice and all, but they tend to annoy Tony, who has always been a tomboy. She finds girls to be overly complicated and dramatic, even the sporty girls. As a result, she spends most of her time with guyfriends. Tony has always been accepted as "one of the guys" and other girls recognize this as well. She has a few girlfriends, but she's not exactly bosom buddies with any of them. She knows how to deal with every type of guy: shy ones, funny ones, arrogant ones, whatever. However, if a guy ever liked her, Tony wouldn't know what to do; she'd be oblivious or bewildered. Really, she doesn't see why anyone would want to date her or what attracted him.

Likes:
+ sports and flying
+ horses and animals
+ sunny days
+ running
+ shopping (secretly)
+ summer rain

Dislikes:
- frilly dresses
- damsels in distress
- French onion soup
- stereotypes

History: Antonia Meredith Carlowe was born to parents Samuel and Maria Carlowe in northern England. The Carlowes are one of the oldest and wealthiest magical families in Great Britain, a fact that they are very proud of. They aren't necessarily against Muggles or halfbloods, but rather just very proud of their pedigree and heritage. They tend to be very old-fashioned, dressing for dinner, and using proper manners. They drilled their children into these habits growing up, and, despite her efforts to be like any teenager, Tony often falls back into these habits without realizing it. Tony is actually embarrassed by her family's aristocratic attitude and tries to hide or ignore her wealth. Sometimes even her last name embarrasses her.

She has one sister and four brothers. The Carlowe children (in order of descending age) are: Sylvia, Thom, Jason and Brendan (twins), Antonia, and Sean. As a child, Antonia spent most of her time with her older brothers, as Sylvia was too old to be a real friend. She grew up a tomboy, although she was always just tagging along with her brothers. She is closest to Brendan and Jason, as they are only a year apart in age. As she grew up, her brothers became more overprotective of her, although she proved that she could take care of herself. In turn, she is protective of her younger brother Sean, who is entering his fourth year at Hogwarts.

When she began Hogwarts, her sister was in her seventh year, Thom was in his fourth year, and the twins were in their second year. She had trouble making friends at first, because she was used to hanging out with her brothers, who had their own friends and didn't want to make time for their kid sister. She also didn't really get along with the girls in her year and sometimes secretly jinxed them out of annoyance. However, in her second year, she became friends with her Potions partner, a boy named -----. To this day, they are still close friends. In her second year, she found a second family with her Quidditch team, proving herself by playing through a game even after a Bludger cracked her kneecap.

Currently, she doesn't know what she wants to do after Hogwarts. She's tired of her family trying to plan her entire future and just wants to live life to the fullest extent.

Your Name: Meg
Character's Name: Tony Carlowe

Year: 6

House: Gryffindor

Position: Chaser

Sample Post:

Tony strode out onto the field in the early morning, not at all bothered by getting up early on a Saturday. Out of all the sports she had ever played, she loved Quidditch the most. Quidditch was completely different from any other sport. It wasn't just back and forth across a field, it was up and down and every possible direction. It was competitive and rough and often quite dangerous. Tony loved every minute of it.

She mounted and took off with the rest of the team, already on a high from the exhilarating feeling of morning air surrounding her. She made a few little loops in the air before returning to the general plane of her teammates. Josh Stratford - their new Captain - was outlining a few plans for the newest members of the team. He was a seventh year; it was quite possible that Tony was up for Captain next year. Tony tuned in, although she already knew what he was telling them.

The team began to warm up together before any real playing. She and the other Chasers flew their standard formations across the field while the Beaters hit a normal soccer ball back and forth in the air. In the corner of the field, the Seeker and the Keeper were practicing their dives. Tony marveled at the team, how well they worked together, how they could read and interpret the slightest body movements. They didn't discriminate against her anymore for being a girl, not since she proved she was easily as tough as any of the boys.

Soon, they began running actual drills with the Quaffle. Tony flew effortlessly, dodging the defense of the "other" team (consisting of the Beaters and the Seeker), speeding up as the Quaffle was passed to her. She ducked down further, as a Bludger whizzed over her head.

She flew straight towards the goal, pulling up and shooting on the Keeper's known weak side. The red Quaffle sailed through the hoop, and she yelled happily, winking at the Keeper in a good-natured manner. Whenever she was flying, she felt like she never wanted to come down again.
