Dungeons The dungeons are colder than in the main castle. The surrounding walls contain many jars of pickled animals, which the students find particularly creepy, and ice cold water pours from a gargoyle's mouth into a basin in the corner. Potions is taught here and William Santana's Office also resides down here . Down the corridor and to the left in are the Slytherin Dormitories. The Slytherin Dorms are actually located under the lake, however, access is gained in one of the dungeons and opens when one gives a password to a blank stone wall. It has a low ceiling and low green-tinted lamps.

The Cellar The Cellar contains the kitchens, which are directly below the Great Hall. They have 4 long tables just like the Great Hall so that the food may be magically transported up. Many house elves work in here and are more than happy to give you food if you just tickle the pear on the painting guarding it's entrance. Adjacent to the Kitchens are the Hufflepuff dormitories.

Ground Floor The Ground floor is accessed from the west though the entrance hall. It is wide open and a bit drafty, but somehow homey and cosy at the same time. In the Hall you can see the four house point hourglasses and the staircases that lead to the first floor, cellar, or dungeons. The Great Hall is to the left, which has four House tables and one Staff table. The ceiling is enchanted so that it shows what it looks like outside.

First Floor Up one flight of steps is the first floor. It is very well lit corridor with many widows and statues and the Transfigurations Classroom and Office is in the corridor that is on the right hand side. The History of Magic Classroom and Office is in the corridor on the left hand side. If you continue straight without turning down either corridor, you'll end up in the Hospital wing, where Johnny is always available to patch you up or for a shoulder to cry on. He loves to even just hear about your day if you're particularly excited.

Second Floor On the second floor are a few classrooms and the unused haunted girl's bathroom where Moaning Myrtle resides. This floor is well lit and has many windows facing out to the beautiful view of Hogwarts.

Third Floor The third floor is one of the most cramped floors due to the trophy cases lining the hallways and all the classrooms that are on the floor. Past the statue of a gargoyle is a corridor to the right that contains The Defense against the Dark Arts Classroom and Office. If you continue straight past the gargoyle you come upon the Charms Classroom, Office, and the Forbidden Corridor which Professor Flintwick was put a locking charm on but we all know what charm unarms it don't we... -wink-

Fourth Floor The entire Fourth Floor is taken up by the library. This huge area is run by the school's librarian and contains tens of thousands of books. The restricted section has books containing powerful Dark Magic that is never taught at Hogwarts and is only used by students studying Advanced Defense against the Dark Arts. In order to use this section, a student needs a signed permission slip from a teacher. The Librarian guards the books, and has been known to put unusual jinxes in the books to make sure that they are not mistreated.

Fifth Floor The Fifth Floor has many Passworded rooms in it. Therefore there isn't much for students to do up here unless they are a prefect or are in Occlumency/Legilimency. Prefects may enter the Prefect Bathroom by saying the password to Boris the Bewildered Statue.

Sixth Floor The Sixth Floor is the one floor out of the whole castle that has an unbelievable number of suits of armor. These are bewitched around the holidays to sing songs a people walk by. The Ancient Runes Classroom and Office is located here at the end of the hall between two lion statues. The Boy's and Girls bathrooms are down the corridor on the right hand side and a Hunchback Witch Statue that leads to Hogmeade. (Not many people know this)

Seventh Floor The Seventh Floor is the highest floor in the castle other than the Towers and it is the hottest. During the summer Teachers must put air cooling charms on some of the suits of armor so that the students can at least breathe. The Entrance to all the towers are up here as well as the Arithmancy Class and Office. At times if you are in great need of something you may also get lucky to find the Room of Requirements. The are also three Empty Classrooms, Classrooms #45, 47, #50

The Towers There are six Towers that are connected to the Castle. One of them is the Astronomy Tower where Astronomy the Classroom and Office is. It is the tallest tower and has the best view of the night sky. There is the Headmaster's Tower which is guarded by a guarded by a gargoyle. The head master lives here. Another is the North Tower where Divination Classes take place. The Gryffindor Tower is where the Gryffindor Dorms are located. To enter the Gryffindor Common Room you must tell the Fat Lady the password. There is a West Tower that has the Owlery at the top where you can send letters to family and friends and there is the Ravenclaw Tower that contains the Ravenclaw Dorms.
