Hey guys! Now that we've cleaned up it's time to put up our newest plot. It will be a quicky to help us get use to characters and to give us more time to come up with a new big plot. So here's the deal: (Credit to Rose)

There's been a HUGE mishap at Hogwarts. Someone casted a spell and now suddenly people are finding themselves in someone else's body. Not everyone however has ended up in this state, there is mass confusion around the shcool until it all gets sorted out.

The Guidelines
- You will keep your own account, but should have a picture of the person's body in your signature.
- Your character's switch buddy will be picked out of a hat according to who has signed up, that will be who you switch with
- Don't give your password to anyone else (safety reasons here)
- You have until Friday, March 13, 2009 to sign up
- There will be no killing of anyone
- You cannot do anything to someone else's body without his/her permission (i.e. get pregnant in another body then switch back, get a huge tattoo, etc)
- Your character can't automatically know how to solve this problem.

Characters Involved

Athens Masters
Jessica O'Connell
Johnathan Devault
Lance Higgins
Marc Watson
Rosabella daBarucci
Seth Kashani
Shiloh Arcos

Body Swap Buddies

Seth Kashani/Athens Masters

What Happened
Early Monday morning, September 2, a fourth year checked out a book from the restricted section on a dare. Then studying it with a few friends they tried a complex spell, the spell was in latin and they sumbled over the words. Having no idea of the effects of the spell they assumed it was cool by the pictures. Casting the spell, the group of friends noticed nothing had changed and feeling let down the friends returned the book that afternoon. Little did they know that eight individuals who had been around the area they had cast the spell, were now in a different body. No body knows what happens, and no body knows who anybody is.

This is set to go on for about a week in game time or until somebody finds an answer to it. Your character can't just know how to solve this, it will have to be a thought out idea that should probably be figured out with at least two of the switchees. Have fun with this guys!

Marc Watson

*I do not know how this will work, I would like feedback from other people. Marc is a Squib and this can go two ways: he will switch bodies and suddenly have magic, or he will switch and still not be able to do magic. The issue is whether it's the body or the soul that has control over magic or is blocking his magic.
*If it's too complicated, I can sign someone else up.

I think the magic is considered part of the body, because you can use magic for good or bad just as you can use any weapon for good or bad. So I think he would be able to do the magic.

So, just clarifying, when he switches bodies, he'll be able to do magic in that new body, but whoever's stuck in his body can't do magic. That's the explanation we're going with?

Btw, I can provide a picture for whoever gets Marc.

Unless Katie or Kat objects, then that's what we're going with.

I'd say its part of the soul. Soul is what makes you good or evil, soul is what allows someone to be all they can be. A body, really, is just a shell. Its a tool of the mind and the soul.

Look at the body as well. A wizard and a witch will have a child with magic, leading us to believe that magic is genetic and attached to the body.

But then children of muggles can also be born with magic, proving that the distribution of magical powers cannot be genetic because how would those children receive the gene? I say magic is attached to the soul, that's just my opinion of course.

Dear goodness, I feel like we're discussing Hitler and whether it was a chemical imbalance or that he had a bad soul. lol

Okay so here's the bottom-line question. Should the squib be able to perform magic when he switches into a body where the person can perform magic. If it were just the body, then I think it would be fair to make sure that the individual person's aptitude (as in their knowledge) would transfer with their mind. That way someone who knows very little about magic could have the potential to do the magic, but not actually know how since they have little experience with it.

I agree with Katie. I think it's part of the soul. Which would mean that Marc would be unable to perform magic in another body because the soul is who he is and that doesn't change no matter who's body he is in.

By the way, we could use a few other people in this plot.....

Oh and Katie, because I don't really know when I'll talk to you next, can Kali go to Hogwarts. She isn't magic, but since we have squibs in the school I don't see why she can't attend, besides she can protect Annie while she is there.

I think the soul makes more sense, but I also think it would be kinda funny for him to suddenly have magical accidents and the other person to be like, "Wtf? I can't do magic!" ...But we can go with the soul, if the majority agrees.

((Lol, the werewolves at Hogwarts....))
