They've Finally Found Me

PERSONALITY ::
Okay, so, maybe playing both Hell and the Winchesters at the same time wasn't the best idea but a girl likes to have options and back-up plans, right? Ruby's just that type of person, planning to be two steps ahead of everyone else and she'll make it her goal to come out on top. She hasn't survived for as long as she has by being an idiot. She's cunning, devious, and her most charming trait is probably the crushing amount of sarcasm she wields. She has no qualms saying what's exactly on her mind and, to most, is a bitchy, snotty black-eyed pain in the ass.

Being one of Lilith's minions was a pretty sweet deal and even though the pay kind of sucked it was better than the alternative. Y'know, death or being tossed back onto the rack and such. No thanks. She likes being topside and if that means she has to go against Hell and stick with the Winchesters for safety, than so be it. The enemy of my enemy and all that jazz. But a demon is a demon no matter how you look at it and it's no wonder everyone's waiting to see who she'll betray or screw over next. Ruby plays on a team of one and that team plays for keeps.

Friends: Ruby doesn't really have friends, so much as she has very, very loose ally ties to others. Right now that's pretty much just Sam Winchester, since Dean would probably rather put a bullet through her skull and be done with it. Other demons and her don't get along since she's pretty much a renegade at this point, though there might be others out there who feel the same way she does about this whole apocalypse thing. So yes, Ruby could make friends, but they'd have to be crazy to put up with her.

Foes: She's a wanted woman. She screwed over Hell, chose to side with the hunters instead of her own kind, and she's not exactly a nice person. Anyone could be a foe; hunters, demons, angels, even that nice old lady down the road who bakes pies every Thanksgiving and passes them out to her neighbors. Ruby burns bridges faster than she can build them, after all.

Other: There's rumor that this demon may or may not have tender mortal feelings for a certain Winchester but if she does, she's not going to fess up. Other than that she has no real emotional connections to anyone. Most people aren't turned on by the whole having black eyes and telekinetic powers thing, after all.

HISTORY ::
Roughly 600 years ago there was this French peasant. She traded her soul to learn the art of witchcraft and, once her time was up (during the Plague, thankfully), she found herself in Hell. Never sell your soul to a demon for any reason, kids. She learned that real fast, especially once she found herself strapped down on the rack. Several centuries later she was let off of the rack and finally became an official spawn of Hell, AKA: a demon.

It was during that time she was offered a job by Lilith, mother of all demons. Help Lilith resurrect Lucifer, open some seals and she could be free as a bird. Why not? It was better than the alternative. All she had to do was get in good with the Winchester brothers, earn their trust, and make the younger one open a seal via the death of Lilith. The last part would be easy. Earning their trust? Not so much.

So Ruby, as she was now calling herself, decided to step in and rescue them from a bad situation. She helped the brothers defeat the seven Sins in human bodies, did some mysterious yet helpful stuff, revealed herself to be a demon to Sam, and eventually gave their adopted family member Bobby the demon-slaying Colt.

Things were fine, aside from some rough bumps (such as wanting to sacrifice a virgin to stop a horde of demons) until the hellhounds came. Ruby wasn’t expecting Lilith to take over –her- meat suit, with her still in it, and all she could do was watch as the demon queen of Hell opened the door and let the hellhounds in to rip Dean apart. Even she was disgusted by the sheer brutality and violence, not to mention being trapped inside of her own so-called mortal form. The look on Sam’s face as she watched him watching his brother being savaged caused an odd pain in her chest, but that was nothing compared to the pain of being sucked back into Hell when Lilith forced her out of her meat suit and then left.

Back on the rack. Back to the suffering and agony. Back to being just another person to tear apart over and over until she earned her way out of Hell again. She was given a choice: aid Lilith again, or suffer unthinkable torture in Hell for the rest of her unnatural life. She chose the former but, as usual, had an ace up her sleeve. She wasn’t going to just be some pawn in a stupid war. Oh no. She was going to make a backup plan just in case Lilith’s failed.

End up back in Hell? Not a chance. Ruby’s shown herself to Sam, once, since being let out from Hell, but his displeasure with her inhabiting a living mortal body has caused her to seek out an alternate form. She has yet to reveal her new self to Sam, but it’s only a matter of time before she does.

The Renegade Who Had It Made

Ruby hated the days where she had to stick around the motel room, when Sam was out trying to ~save the world~ with his brother. It was a futile attempt, she'd told him that countless times, but the stupid moose always replied with some optimistic drabble that just made her roll her eyes.

At least she had the television and the menus to several local take out places. But even trashy talk shows and questionable Chinese food couldn't hold the demon's attention for too long. Sure, she was supposed to stay put, being a wanted mandemon and all, but Ruby had other ideas.

She needed to get out and go for a walk, at the very least, just to stretch her legs and get some fresh air in her hollow lungs. There was a greasy spoon diner down the road, maybe she could grab a quick lunch there and be back before anyone realized she was gone.

Just in case, Ruby grabbed her knife and slipped it into her leather jacket, within easy reach should she need it, then grabbed her phone and a key for the room. Leave a note for Sam? Not in this life time. Or the next, probably.

She wasn't going to let him keep her on a short leash like some common mortal girl. The thought of it made her sneer and shake her head in disgust as she made her way down the road, flicking off the occasional idiot driver who decided to honk at her.

Ugh, mortals.
