dungeons
below the castle is as if wintertime came and never left. freezing cold, which adds to the dreary effect it creates by being both dark and holding the most vile house in Hogwarts. one dungeon leads to Slytherin, while the opposite direction leads to Hufflepuff. however, neither of the paths toward the houses are extremely comforting. it's suggested that you run before you are caught by something fowl.

the floor where most activities are held, and where all of the school population can be found during mealtimes and school meetings. you might find a couple of people in the broom cupboard as well...

up the stairs separating the ground floor from the first floor are three very important classrooms and a room for the badly injured. luckily, the hospital wing is on the same floor as the defense against the dark arts classroom.

the second floor does not have many student-related rooms besides the lavatories and transfiguration. therefore, the second floor has a small amount of students on it usually.

also known as the marauders floor. many of their pranks are pulled here, because the armor gallery and trophy room is where filch usually lingers. also, the humpacked witch statue is a well-kept secret of the four, having a secret passage to hogsmeade behind it.

fourth floor
a floor where most artistic personnels situate themselves, because not only is there the library but also the music room. bookworms and musicians alike are brought to this floor, usually having intelligent conversations about ancient times. ironically, the ancient rules classroom is placed here too.

fifth floor
the only room mildly interesting here is the prefects bathroom, considering it is coed. apparently the men and women are supposed to be mature enough to bathe in the same bathroom.

towers
considering it holds two houses and two other towers, the towers are the most populated on the weekends. letters are sent out of the owlery frequently, and students can usually be found in the common room no matter what hour of the day/night.

grounds
a landscape with many attractions, but nothing that students would usually venture into besides the forbidden forest, quidditch pitch, and beside the lake. a very romantic setting, which gets many involved pupils in trouble.

in the center of the village, you may find the sweet shop. it sells a variety of candies, and homemade blocks of fudge and chocolate.

upon entering hogsmeade, the pub is the first building you encounter. a friendly atmosphere, the perfect place to stop into for a butterbeer before the walk back to the castle.
