April 9th : There is a new word of the week up, this one should be a lot easier to use. Secondly, the plot has begun, find the first post here. And thirdly, the contests are over at the end of today, so get those last minute entries in. I'll be judging them all and announcing winners tomorrow. April 5 : Just for a little stimulation to the point system, I gave everyone that has made an IC post in the past week an extra 20 points! So congratulations to myself, Ayita, Ceres, Rahyven, Saosin, Skarl, and Terralee. Keep that activity up! PLOT IN THE MAKING Look at it, add in your opinon, get involved. Here it is.  Ranks The Packs. Here at Enigma, the packs are run completely separately from one another. Because of this, the packs honor different ranks and have a different hierarchy. Arcanum Ranks. Alphas. One male, one female. These wolves are not necessarily mates but they most often are. They are the leaders of the pack. They are the ones who make important decisions, call pack meetings, determine whether other wolves may breed, often organize hunts, and take care of other important tasks in the pack. These are very highly respected wolves among the pack and deserve the most submission. Betas. One male, one female. These wolves, like the alphas, are often mates, but it is not required. The betas are the trusted advisors of the alphas. They are often good friends of the alphas and rarely is a decision made without their consent. These wolves are also highly respected among the pack and deserve only slightly less submission than the alphas. Members. Unlimited number of either gender. These are arguably the most important members of the pack, because they make it up. The Arcanum pack values it's members highly and offers specializations among the members. These specializations generally do not entitle the wolf to any more respect than another member, but it does inherently happen sometimes. Often times, the alphas will call on wolves with a certain specialization for their knowledge or skills. Specializations. Wolves can only hold one specialization, but may choose if they qualify for more than one. Puppysitter. Complete 3 threads involving puppies. Hunter. Complete 4 threads in which a successful kill is made, at least one being a large game, group hunt. Herbalist. Complete 3 threads displaying your knowledge of the healing abilities of plants. Peacekeeper. Complete 2 threads in which your character intervenes and stops a fight. Messenger. Complete 2 threads in which your character successfully delivers a message of any importance. Guard. Complete 3 threads in which your character protects either a fellow pack member or an innocent. Cavalcade Ranks. Alpha. One of either gender Leader rank. In charge of everything, from deciding who's allowed to mate, to where the pack will hunt. Accepts or rejects new members. Beta. One of either gender Helps the Alpha in their duties. May also accept or reject new members. Decision is subect to review by the alpha(s). Warrior. One male, one female Equal in rank to the hunter. The warrior is in charge of protecting the pack and patrolling the borders. They greet the newcomers, but may NOT make the decision on whether or not to accept them. Hunter. One male, one female Equal in rank to the warrior. The hunter is in charge of keeping the pack fed. Dagger. One of either gender Equal in rank to the bow. The dagger is the assistant to the warrior. Assists in border patrol, may greet joiners if the warrior is otherwise occupied. May also be employed as a scout in enemy territory. Bow. One of either gender Equal in rank to the dagger. The bow is the assistant to the hunter. Pre-scouts potential prey, and helps to bring it down. Jester. One of either gender The jester is in charge of taking care of the pups. The jester is also in charge of pack morale; if the pack seems to need more humor, the jester may arrange a game of tag or some other uplifting game. The jester is also the pack bard. Member. Unlimited of either gender The member is a general rank. Members are expected to help with whatever they can, whether it be hunting, scouting, or pup care. Omega. One of either gender The omega is either the newest wolf to the pack, or the wolf least in the alpha's favour. The omega is usually seen, but not heard, and will always eat last at meals. The omega is chosen last for team games, or completely ignored. They are also usually blamed for anything that goes wrong, whether it be a failed hunt, or a rainy day. |
