What we're about..

We're an AU Vampire Diaries which means that we still have all the characters from the television programme but allows you to have original characters too.

Set in Mystic Falls it has all the same comfortable, familiar feel to it but without actually following the programme's storyline. Here we're allowing you to have your own little storylines to play out. Perhaps in the future we'll have a site wide plot, but for the moment it's up to you.

All that said we will still have site wide events like Founders Day, Miss Mystic Falls, and all the other town events
Date approx. February

BETTER VIEWED IN FIREFOX.

Daylight Jewelry

These pieces of jewelry, containing a lapis lazuli stone, are in the form of rings and pendants and serve as a form of protection from the sun. The following characters have been seen wearing them: Damon Salvatore, Stefan Salvatore, Katherine Pierce, Pearl, Anna, Harper, Isobel Flemming, Caroline Forbes and Elijah.

If they are not wearing them, they burn up when exposed to sunlight. Wearing them outdoors also makes them less detectable to human beings. However, should the moon and the sun curse be broken first by a vampire, then they will no longer require the use of this jewelry and will be able to walk freely in the sun.

All of the daylight jewelry was spelled by Emily Bennett, who was Katherine Pierce's handmaiden and Bonnie Bennett's great-great-great-great grandmother.

Bennett Talisman

This is an amber crystal within an iron setting and Damon retrieves it during the Founder's Day party at the Lockwood residence, telling Caroline he hid it there a long time ago ('Family Ties'). After he attacks her and ingests the vervain, which was in her drink, he collapses and Caroline finds it on the ground, placing it in her bag. She takes it home and places it in her room. However, Damon can use it to summon her to help free him from his cell in the episode 'You're Undead to Me' and when she settles into bed that night an outline of a pentagram is seen on her bedcovers.

In the episode 'Haunted', Caroline decides to dispose of it by handing it over to Bonnie. During the Hallowe'en celebrations at the school, Damon approaches Bonnie and notices that she's wearing it. He tries to take it from her but receives an electric shock in return. Bonnie flees the scene and when she reaches Grams' house, Grams notices the talisman and asks her where she got it. Bonnie thinks it's a piece of junk but Grams shows her a book containing a photo of Bonnie's great-great-great-great grandmother, Emily Bennett, who is wearing the talisman.

In the following episode, '162 Candles', Damon compels Caroline to organise a birthday party for his younger brother so that he can get the crystal back from Bonnie. Bonnie refuses to return it and Damon insults Caroline, labelling her 'shallow'. Later, Bonnie starts having nightmares due to the crystal's power and attempts to dispose of it in the episode 'History Repeating', only for it to end up in her bag again. Elena tells Stefan about Bonnie's nightmares but he knows about the crystal, telling her it belonged to Katherine and that Emily, who was her hand-maiden gave it to her. He also tells her that Damon wants it and that he will find out why. During a confrontation on the football field, Damon reveals the reason why he wants the crystal - in order to open the tomb so that he can get Katherine back - and says that the comet reactivated it.

At Elena's house, Bonnie, Elena and Caroline have a séance in the hope that Bonnie can finally be free of the influence Emily has over her. When the candles go out, the girls are frightened and soon discover the crystal missing. Bonnie heads towards the bathroom and is locked iniside, screaming while Elena and Caroline try to figure out how to free her. A few seconds later, the door opens again and Bonnie insists she's fine, exiting the bathroom, as Emily can be seen in the mirror. Confused about what has happened to their friend, Caroline leaves as Bonnie says she must go. Elena notices from the way she is descending the stairs that she is being possessed by Emily. She calls out to her but Emily says that she won't let Damon have the crystal. Elena phones Stefan and realises that Emily is on her way to the tomb site in the woods.

In the woods, Emily is approached by Damon, who says that they had a deal but she manages to throw him back against a tree with a stick lodged in his chest. Stefan arrives and pulls his brother down, soon realizing that he wants revenge on the town for how they treated the vampires. Emily also reveals that she saved everyone in the church and magics a ring of fire around her after using a stick to etch a pentagram in the ground. She taunts Damon by holding up the talisman in front of her and throws it into the sky, where it explodes. Angered, he attacks her not realizing that Emily's ghost left Bonnie's body moments before the talisman exploded.

Vampire Compass

The first time this is seen is in 'Family Ties' is in the form of a pocketwatch, when Elena polishes it so that it can be added to the heritage display at the Lockwood residence. Jeremy takes it before Elena hands it over to Carol Lockwood, who rings her to report it missing. He reluctantly hands it back after saying that it was meant to be given to the first-born son, but Elena later hands it back to him.

Carol Lockwood asks Elena during the party if she found it but she says she's still searching for it. At the end of the episode, Sheriff Forbes reveals that Jeremy has the pocket watch and Logan says that he will retrieve it. He goes over to the Gilbert house for dinner one evening and steals it from Jeremy's room. In 'Lost Girls', Mayor Lockwood takes it apart and changes it into a vampire compass. During a nighttime search in the woods, Logan notices vampire activity nearby and finds Stefan and Vicki in the cemetery. He shoots Stefan and is about to stake him, when he is savagely bitten by Damon. His attempts to cling onto life fail when Vicki feeds off him. Damon sees the compass on the ground and pockets it. Now in possession of it, Damon tells Vicki in the following episode that it's an old antique compass and wonders what Logan was doing with it. In 'The Turning Point', the compass brings Damon to an old warehouse and he discovers the now-undead Logan has been hoarding bodies and tries to find out who turned him, but is shot several times when Logan gets tired of him dodging his questions.

In 'Unpleasantville', Stefan tells Elena that it is a device for tracking vampires and tells her to keep it. Later, as she gets ready for the 'Decade Dance', the needle of the compass starts to turn and she notices it, phoning Stefan about it. Damon answers the phone and tells her that Stefan has gone over to her house to pick her up. Relieved, she hangs up and is pounced on from behind by Noah, who tries to bite her. Stefan grabs him and he flees.

In 'Children of the Damned', it is shown through a flashback to 1864 that Johnathan Gilbert originally possessed it, as the townspeople sought to expose and eradicate the vampires. Later, as the vampires are being rounded up an excited Johnathan excitedly tells Pearl about what is going on until the compass points directly at her, exposing her as a vampire. It is briefly seen again in the Season 2 episode 'The Dinner Party', during a flashback scene in which Johnathan Gilbert, Thomas Fell and Honoria fell are killed by Stefan Salvatore. However Johnathan comes back to life as he's wearing a protection ring. .

Journals

As well as using diaries to store information, there has also been the introduction of journals, many of which have been passed down over the years by the Founding Families. They are Johnathan Gilbert's journals, Giuseppe Salvatore's journal and Mason Lockwood's journal

Johnathon Gilbert's Journal

In the Season 1 episode 'History Repeating' the new history teacher, Alaric Saltzman, gives Jeremy the chance to earn extra credit by writing a history paper and while going through a box of family heirlooms, he comes across a journal by an ancestor, Johnathan Gilbert, with the first entry dating from June 1864. He reads through it and is inspired to start drawing again. In ˜Bloodlines' he approaches Alaric at the school and tells him that he's decided to write his paper on the past in Mystic Falls, using Johnathan Gilbert'sjournal as a source of information. At the library, he meets the cute-but-geeky Anna and is surprised to learn that an ancestor of hers also kept a journal.

In 'Unpleasantville, he receives an A for his paper and gives a loan of the journal to Alaric. Later at the 'Decade Dance', Anna asks to see the journal but Jeremy says that he gave it to Alaric, which angers her, so that her vampire face is revealed, and she tells Noah that she's working on getting it. A short while later, Elena receives a phone call from Noah and is chased through the corridors until she tries to seek refuge in the cafeteria and also tries to defend herself. Stefan and Damon arrive to rescue her and before Noah is staked, he tells them to check Johnathan Gilbert's journal in order to find the grimoire, but doesn't tell them where the journal is before he dies. Later, Stefan agrees to help Damon get into the tomb, only to admit to Elena that he's lying.

In 'Children of the Damned', an excited Damon wakens Stefan and Elena the following morning and tells the latter that she's on journal duty, as she's a Gilbert. Later, while looking through a box of family heirlooms, she notices that the journal is missing and Jeremy says that he loaned it to Alaric. At the school that evening, Alaric sits in his classroom looking at the journal and makes a photocopy of it. He leaves it back on his desk but it is taken by Anna when he leaves again after hearing a noise. He soon returns to the classroom armed with a stake rifle and is confronted by Stefan, who tells him that the journal is not on his desk. Stefan later returns to Elena's house and after Damon agrees to accompany Jeremy to the Grill to meet Anna, Stefan and Elena read through the photocopy of the journal and he realizes where the grimoire is, having remembered his father saying in 1864 that he would take his secrets to the grave. Meanwhile, Damon confronts Anna in her motel room, after remembering where he's seen her before, and she shows him Johnathan Gilbert's journal.

In 'Miss Mystic Falls' John Gilbert reveals to Jeremy that Johnathan Gilbert kept more journals and Elena finds some more in a hidden room at the Gilbert lakehouse along with weapons, while spending a romantic weekend there with Stefan in the Season 2 episode 'Crying Wolf'. In the following episode 'The Dinner Party', Elena is shocked to discover that Johnathan Gilbert was actually killed by Stefan before his ring brought him back to life. Further information in the journal reveals that Johnathan knew of The Originals and how to kill them. However, he also stated that if a vampire killed them then that vampire would also die. Stefan manages to get a message to Alaric, who warns Damon not to kill Elijah and does the deed himself. Elena soon discovers that the Original is not dead unless the dagger is left in their body. Elijah is killed a second time when Elena stabs him with the dagger. .

Giuseppe Salvatore's Journal

In the Season 1 episode 'Unpleasantville', Stefan comes across Damon rummaging through the various bookshelves in the library and the latter tells him that he's looking for their father's journal, which is a small brown leather-bound book.

Stefan later approaches Damon, who's sitting at a desk writing down the names of various Founding Family members, and says that he has already had a look at it, but it does not mention anything about Katherine or how to get into the tomb. Damon remarks that he isn't surprised, as their father could barely spell his own name.

Mason Lockwood's Journal

This is seen in the Season 2 episode 'The Sacrifice' when Tyler and Caroline go to explore the old slave quarters. It is a small gray leather-bound book and Mason used it to detail every transformation that he made after killing Jimmy. On the back page, Tyler finds a small memory key.

They go back to Caroline's house and watch the contents of it on a laptop computer. Caroline reads out the enteries, which are dated August 31 and September 16, and what they observe shocks them completely - the video lasts over three hours and they see that Mason has barricaded himself in the garage and is drinking wolfsbane, which tastes like battery acid, according to his account in the journal.

On the night of the previous full moon in Mystic Falls, which was also the night of Tyler's party at the water hole, Mason had been attempting to chain himself up in the old slave quarters, but was interrupted by Tyler and Aimee Bradley. He eventually turned in the woods and attacked Caroline and Stefan, before being stopped by Tyler. However, it is unknown whether he detailed this event before his death.

Gilbert Protection Rings

These are rings that contain a black stone and Alaric Saltzman and John Gilbert both possess one. Alaric's was handed to him by Isobel, who told him that it would protect him and if asked, he was to say that it's a family heirloom and John revealed to Alaric and Damon in the episode 'Under Control' that Alaric's ring had originally been his and he wouldn't have given it to Isobel if he had known she would hand it to Alaric. The ring he wears instead originally belonged to his late brother, Grayson.

In 'A Few Good Men', Alaric confronts Damon and is staked in self-defense. Stefan arrives and thinks that Alaric is dead, only for his fingers to twitch a few seconds later. He suddenly rouses and Stefan initially thinks that Damon turned him, but Alaric soon realises that the ring he is wearing protects him from being killed.

In 'Under Control', John talks to Damon at the Founder's Day kick-off party and reveals that he knows a lot about the vampires of Mystic Falls and their apparent return to the town. Damon kills him by snapping his neck and throwing him off the balcony. However, while he's enjoying the party inside a mere five minutes later, he sees John walk back into the room, very much alive and he later tells Alaric and Damon that Alaric is wearing his ring and that he has Grayson's, but he wouldn't have given his to Isobel if he had known she was going to give it to him. In 'Isobel', Isobel takes John's ring when he asks her to spare Jeremy's life and Cherie and Frank attack him. When she goes to the school to say goodbye to Alaric, he takes off his ring and she compels him to move on with his life, before returning it to him. In the Season 1 finale, 'Founder's Day', Katherine manages to gain access to the Gilbert house and confronts John, chopping off his fingers on the hand that contains the ring, before stabbing him repeatedly.

In the second season premiere, 'The Return', John is taken to hospital after Katherine's attack and is later confronted by Stefan, who warns him to leave town or he will kill him. John later follows through with Stefan's wishes and talks to Jeremy before he leaves and tells him the ring didn't save his father, as the accident was not supernatural. As she exits her bathroom, Elena finds a drunken and devastated Damon on her bed and he tries to get her to admit that she has feelings for him, forcibly kissing her. Elena doesn't know what's wrong with him and tells him that she loves Stefan and that it will always be him, echoing Katherine's words when she went to see Damon earlier. Jeremy enters and asks what's wrong but Elena tells him it's fine. A furious Damon tells Elena that Jeremy wants to be a vampire and grabs him by the neck, telling him what happens before snapping his neck. Elena is shocked and devastated by what Damon's just done, but he looks at her before walking away. Stefan later comforts her, saying that Katherine got to Damon and undid everything that was good about him. As Elena declares that she hates Damon, Jeremy suddenly comes back to life as he was wearing John's ring. In 'The Sacrifice', Jeremy confronts Katherine in the tomb, knocks her out and tries to get the moonstone, only for him to be attacked by her when he attempts to exit. When Bonnie and Stefan show up they find that Katherine is keeping Jeremy hostage and can feed on him continuously, as he will keep coming back to life.

In 'Daddy Issues', Jeremy encounters John Gilbert at the memorial service and attempts to give him his ring back. In 'Crying Wolf', John approaches Alaric at the tea party beaing held by the Historical Society and demands his ring back, but Alaric refuses to hand it over and John threatens to spill the beans to Jenna. Alaric and Damon are later attacked at the boarding house by Jules and her werewolves and Alaric comes back to life only after the werewolves have been killed and Jules has fled. In 'The Dinner Party', he finally returns his ring to John and warns him to watch his back.

Grimoire

This is a book of spells that is first mentioned in the episode 'Bloodlines'. When Damon confronts Bree for sending Lee after him she tells him there is a way into the tomb - a reversal process can be found in Emily's grimoire. She says she doesn't know where it is but insists she has been telling him the truth. Telling her he believes her, he kills her by ripping her heart out before he leaves the bar, as a means of getting even with her.

In 'Children of the Damned', Stefan and Elena are woken up by Damon, who is excited to be working alongside them. He tells Elena that she's on journal duty as she's a Gilbert and she asks what a grimoire is. Damon calls it a "witch's cookbook" but Stefan begins to explain its purpose, which makes Damon say that it is a cookbook. Elena says she'll look for the journal and Damon tells them to get a move on, as he cheerfully leaves the room. Later, Elena and Stefan are looking through a box of Gilbert family heirlooms but can't find Johnathan Gilbert's journal. Jeremy tells them that Alaric wanted to see it so he gave him a loan of it. At the school that evening, Alaric sits in his classroom reading the journal and decides to make a photocopy of it. He returns to his classroom and leaves the journal othe Gilnn his desk, but hears a noise. Having been spying on him, Anna grabs the journal when he leaves the loom to retrieve a stake rifle from a locker. He assembles it and goes back to his classroom, launching a stake, which is caught by Stefan. Stefan interrogates him and asks where the journal is as it's not on his desk.

Stefan returns to the Gilbert house where Damon has been enjoying 'family night' and they try to figure out what's happened to the journal. Quizzing Jeremy, Damon decides to accompany him to the Grill to meet Anna and while there he recognises Anna from 1864. When Stefan and Elena are alone in her room he shows her the photocopy of the journal and as they read through it, Stefan realizes he knows the location of the grimoire. Elsewhere, Damon tackles Anna when she returns to her motel room and she shows him the journal, having told him that she was responsible for turning Logan, but he refuses her offer of helping him get into the tomb, declaring that he works alone. In a remote part of the cemetery, Elena helps Stefan dig up his father's grave. He opens up the coffin to reveal a skeleton holding the grimoire. When he takes it out of the coffin, Elena shines her flashlight on it but they are soon joined by none other than Damon. Stefan says he can't allow Damon to bring Katherine back and Damon says he's sorry for ever thinking he could trust his younger brother, but Stefan reminds him that he isn't capable of trust. Damon says the only one he can trust is himself and looks at Elena with a pained expression on his face, as she fooled him by saying he could trust Stefan. He asks Stefan what he's going to do because if he tries anything, he will rip Elena's heart out. Stefan doesn't believe him and suddenly Damon grabs Elena from behind, force-feeding her his blood and threatening to turn hee unless the grimoire is handed over to him. Stefan says he's not handing it over until Elena is by his side and Damon tells him he doesn't trust him, but Stefan says he's done the one thing that ensures that he will co-operate - he's hurt Elena. As Damon watches, Stefan places the grimoire on the ground as Damon smells Elena's hair before handing her over. Stefan and Elena run off while Damon picks the grimoire off the ground and leaves.

After Grams dies in 'Fool Me Once', a grief-stricken Bonnie tries to look for a spell to resurrect her but there is nothing she can do. In the episode 'Isobel', Bonnie and Elena examine the grimoire and Bonnie tells her that Emily spelled everything with magic so that Johnathan Gilbert believed he had invented all of it - the vampire compass, daylight jewlry and the mystery device, which Bonnie soon realizes is a weapon against vampires.

The grimoire is currently in Bonnie's possession and she has continued to use it whenever Stefan and Damon need her help. She has also discovered that Luka and his father, Jonas, who are warlocks, have several in their possession as Jonas considers that all witches are family.

Founders Day Device

This device is first seen in the episode 'Miss Mystic Falls', when Pearl gives it to Damon and tells him that she stole it from Johnathan Gilbert, but realised she had stolen the wrong object when his vampire compass exposed her true nature. When she meets John Gilbert in the Mystic Grill in the episode 'Blood Brothers', he tries to retrieve the device and insults her, so she reveals that Damon now possesses it.

In the episode 'Isobel', Isobel orders Elena to get the device from Damon and Bonnie reveals to her that the device is actually a weapon against vampires. Elena manages to convince Damon to hand it over, saying that Bonnie can remove Emily's spell. She does so and Elena hands over the device to Isobel, who sends it to John. She tells him that Katherine wants the tomb vampires dead and wants Damon and Stefan added to the list. Bonnie reveals to Caroline that she did not do what Elena wanted her to do, meaning that the device is still fully functional.

In the Season 1 finale, John tells Mayor Lockwood that the device will expose any vampire within a five-mile radius, as its sound will incapacitate them. He activates it when Damon confronts him, injects him with vervain and rounds him up with many other tomb vampires and Anna and places them in the basement of Grayson Gilbert's old building, which is set alight. John kills Anna as a weakened Damon looks on and he finds Mayor Lockwood is also in the burning basement, having also been affected by the device and vervain injection. He is killed by another vampire.

As Tyler is driving away from the town with Caroline and Matt as passengers, he crashes the car when he is also seen to be affected by the sound of the device. Stefan realises that Bonnie never unspelled the device and once he has recovered from its effects, he rescues Damon from the burning basement.

Moonstone

The moonstone is a white semi-precious stone first seen in the posession of the Lockwood family. In 'Brave New World', Tyler finds Mason snooping around his late brother's office and asks him what he's looking for. Mason describes the moonstone as being the size of a hockey puck and Tyler says he'll keep an eye out for it. He later finds it in a safe in the floor, which is hidden by a rug. In 'Memory Lane', it is seen that Katherine originally possessed the stone before handing it to George Lockwood. She told him that she was a vampire and knew that he was a werewolf, so she gave him the stone in return for him helping her escape the tomb at the church. In 'Kill Or Be Killed', Tyler eventually handed it over to Mason, who at the end of the episode, met with Katherine and told her that he had been succesful in getting it.

In 'Plan B', Katherine asked to see the moonstone but Mason told her that it was hidden away. After Mason was abducted by Damon and Bonnie, Bonnie discovered that its location was at the bottom of a well. While Damon tortured Mason for more information about Katherine and the moonstone, Stefan set out to find it and once in the well he ended up covered in burns as it has been filled with vervain. With the help of Caroline and Bonnie, Elena rescued him and found the moonstone. Damon later phoned Katherine and told her what happened, but she was unaware that Mason had done all of this behind her back. In 'Masquerade', Katherine impersonated Elena at the Lockwoods' masquerade ball in order to obtain the moonstone. A witch named Lucy discovered that Bonnie had it and eventually obtained it from her. When she handed it over to Katherine, Katherine collapsed and was placed in the tomb along with the moonstone. In the following episode, 'Rose', while Elena was in captivity she learned that the moonstone is what binds the curse and that a human's blood is needed to break it i.e. the blood of the doppelgänger. In 'Katerina', it was revealed in a flashback that Katherine stole it from Klaus after learning that he was going to sacrifice her. Slater phoned Rose with information about the moonstone and asked if Damon could retrieve it.

In 'The Sacrifice', Bonnie turned the photograph of Katherine to ash, saying it would incapacitate her so they would be able to get the moonstone. Jeremy stole some of the ash and confronted Katherine, staking her and knocking her out with the ash. However, as soon as he secured the moonstone she attacked him, leading to Bonnie trying to get him out. Unfortunately, Stefan entered the tomb to save Jeremy while the seal keeping Katherine in was still active. In 'By the Light of the Moon', Bonnie and Luka managed to destroy the moonstone, only for it to be later revealed that Luka had tricked her and gave it to his father. In 'Daddy Issues', Tyler reveals to Brady and Jules that Mason had stayed in Mystic Falls after his brother's funeral as he was searching for a moonstone. In 'Crying Wolf', Stevie, Jules and Brady tell Tyler about the 'sun and moon' curse and Jules shows up at the boarding house with Stevie and three other werewolves and they threaten Damon to hand over the moonstone, as he is bound with chains and a collar equipped with wooden stakes. Elijah shows up with the moonstone and kills three of the werewolves by ripping their hearts out before killing Stevie by breaking his neck when punching him, after Jules flees. He frees Damon before leaving with the moonstone.

In 'The Dinner Party', Damon organizes a dinner party at the boarding house in order to kill Elijah. He dips the dagger in the white ash but information in Johnathan Gilbert's journal reveals that the vampire who wields it will also die, so Stefan phones Alaric to warn him. When the guests are seated around the table for dessert, Andie tells Alaric that she needs something from her bag and suddenly Elijah is stabbed from behind by Alaric, who has been able to use the dagger as he's human. However, Elijah comes back to life after the dagger is removed and finds Elena at the boarding house. She tells him that she could kill herself and then Stefan will feed her his blood, thus enabling her to start her transformation into a vampire if she fed on a human and therefore rendering her useless to Klaus. She wields a knife and he promises to keep his word, before she stabs herself in the stomach. She lurches forward and soon he is stabbed with the dagger and falls to the ground, as Stefan feeds her his blood to heal her. Elijah is placed in the basement dungeon again and Damon pockets the moonstone.

White Ash Wood and Dagger

The white ash wood and dagger are first seen in the episode 'Daddy Issues and serve as a means of killing an Original.

John visits Damon at the boarding house, after helping him keep Elena safe at the Grill. He uncovers some objects, which he says are how an Original is killed. The white ash wood is in a bottle and the dagger must be dipped into the ash and plunged into the heart of the Original.

In 'The Dinner Party', Damon invites Elijah to dinner at the boarding house with the intention of killing him, but information found in Johnathan Gilbert's journal reveals that if he kills Elijah then he also dies and Stefan phones Alaric to tell him before it is too late. The latter writes a note warning Damon and when they are back sitting around the table, Elijah reveals that they need to keep Elena safe but suddenly he is stabbed from behind by Alaric, leaving everyone shocked.

They place Elijah's decomposed body in the basement dungeon but more information found in the journal reveals that the dagger must be left in the body to ensure that the Original is dead. Stefan phones Damon and the latter races back to the dungeon, but Elijah is gone. He arrives at Jonas' apartment angry and Jonas shows up at the Gilbert house and takes away Bonnie's powers. Elsewhere, Elijah shows up at the lakehouse and throws the stones at the door, breaking it, and tells Elena to show herself. Elena soon reveals a knife and stabs herself in the stomach, but when she lurches forward into Elijah's arms she stabs him, killing him instantly. He collapses to the ground as Stefan feeds Elena his blood and Damon tells them not to remove the dagger.

In 'The House Guest', Luka and Jonas set about retrieving the dagger by casting a spell that allows an invincible Luka to gain access to the boarding house and make his way down to the basement dungeon where he finds Elijah's body. Katherine heads down there to get an IV blood bag from the refrigerator and senses something, before she sees the dagger coming out of Elijah's chest, apparently by itself. She tries to keep it in but is stabbed in the stomach by Luka, who is eventually killed by Damon with the flame thrower, when he comes to help Katherine. .
