What we're about..

We're an AU Vampire Diaries which means that we still have all the characters from the television programme but allows you to have original characters too.

Set in Mystic Falls it has all the same comfortable, familiar feel to it but without actually following the programme's storyline. Here we're allowing you to have your own little storylines to play out. Perhaps in the future we'll have a site wide plot, but for the moment it's up to you.

All that said we will still have site wide events like Founders Day, Miss Mystic Falls, and all the other town events
Date approx. February

BETTER VIEWED IN FIREFOX.

It was one of those days that looked like nothing could go wrong. The sun was high in the bright blue sky with fluffy clouds drawn in it. Based on that alone it would have been a perfect day. Though taking in the rest of the icy landscape with its bare trees and threat of a blizzard at any moment the scene rested between picturesque and ominous. Like there was a threat riding on the biting wind.

Elena took in this sight from the kitchen window, but pushed it out of her mind in favor of the mind-numbing task she had in front of her. She was currently chopping up tomatoes for the Gilbert Household dinner that night. Ric thought all meals could be be ordered by phone or drank out of a tumbler, but Elena decided she needed to prove him wrong and introduce him to the term fresh produce.

She hummed along to the simple melody that flowed out of the radio on the counter as she cut up the crisp tomato. It was the first normal moment she had in a long time. Preparing dinner for her family, or what was left of it, and not worrying about Original, hybrids, or her vampire boyfriend and his vampire brother. She could almost pretend that she was just plain old Elena again. The captain of the cheer squad with the quarterback boyfriend living the teenage dream.

Though as the song ended Elena returned to the real world where her blood could create monsters, she was the duplicate of someone centuries her senior, and she was in the middle of her very own paranormal love triangle. She sighed wishing she could turn back time, and in the same breath hoping everything stayed the same. Since no matter how complicated it was she had a boyfriend who loved her, friends she would die for, and quite possibly the weirdest life in the world.

And that wasnt worth losing. Elena pushed her mouth up into a smile and tried to convince herself that normal was overrated. She wanted to believe herself, but she couldn't help but wish for her old life. Putting down the knife on to the cutting board Elena swept the diced tomatoes into a large bowl of lettuce leaves and reached over to turn up the radio to drown out her moping.

As the volume reached its max Elena felt like she was being watched. Knowing it could possibly be an intruder she turned herself around slowly and started blindly groping for the large knife she had just layed down. She felt a flash of pain as her fleshy thumb hit the wrong end of the knife and received a small but deep cut. Her thumb automatically went to her mouth, and she carefully picked up the knife by the handle.

Feeling more confidant with a weapon in her hand Elena silently made her way to the front of the house. Before she could reach the kitchen door Elena felt the presence of someone behind her. She straightened her back and tried to build up some inner strength to face whoever was behind her.

Since, with her luck, this could easily be her last stand she might as well go out guns ablazing. Whirling around she faced the unknown and lunged the knife to where she estimated the center to be. Though her arm was stopped mid blow and the arm holding the knife was pinned at the wrist. Elena herself was turned around and her back hit the hard front of her attacker.

Almost completely pinned Elena looked up into the intruders face and glared.

"You know its not polite to come into a house unannounced,"she said trying to reign in her emotions.

When Marjorie came back to Mystic Falls she had not expected to find the supernatural that had been hidden in the background. She had also not expected to find herself apart of that community. Not only had she been threatened by the vampire Kol about something she had no idea about, she had found out that she was some sort of demon, a one of a kind, the last hope for her own species. And she had met a guy who had told her up front that Kol was not to be trusted. A Damon Salvatore. At this point she wasn't sure who to trust. Her parents had lied to her about her birth, and sudden death for years, only telling her after she had been beaten and threatened by a vampire centuries her senior. And now another vampire was telling her that this one couldn't be trusted. Like the whole being choked to death hadn't offered up that opinion to her. What she REALLY needed, was some time alone, to sort through her thoughts without anything supernatural happening.

And so she found herself wandering once again around Mystic Falls, her feet taking her wherever though she was certain by the time she got home they'd have a dull ache to them. She absently rubbed her arms over the thick jacket before letting out a deep sigh. Her feet made little noise against the concrete, her sneakers worn and the soles soft. It was because she was so focused on not focusing on anything that the sound of a radio being turned up and her head turned to notice that the house the sounds were coming from had it's front door opened slightly. She scrunched up her face in confusion, why would someone leave thier door open like that? She glanced through the windows, spotting a figure sneaking around and she was going to dismiss it, people could creep around thier house if they want to, when a faint voice was heard. She probably wouldn't have heard it if she hadn't been paying attention. It had a hard edge and Jorie knew it was not at all friendly. Fearing that something would happen she jogged over to the house, feeling more confident now that she knew a little bit more about what she was. She moved quickly through the front door, pausing only to find where the sound of the voice went and when she spotted the man holding the young brunette she frowned, giving the man her own glare.

"And just what in the hell are you doing?" She hissed out, her eyes flashing. She had taken a personal dislike to any man trying to man-handle a woman, especially after she had been in the same position. Her eyes flashed that wierd mixture of her true steely grey and vivid acid green as she curled her lip to show her teeth in a rather animilistic display of anger. "It'd do you well to release her and get the hell out of this house before the cops show up" She was bluffing about the cops showing up, but she had been given a rundown of what she could possibly do, things that surprised her and things she was frightened to do, but she was certain that if she was using them to protect the girl infront of her, who she recognized as Elena Gilbert, the niece of an old high school friend, than she'd be more than willing to test them out.

Elena didn't know the person who had her pinned against him in a grotesque mockery of a lovers' embrace. He was a plain unassuming person who she would have never looked at twice on the street, but she was certain she had never met him before. The formality of her words were strictly that, since in her experience it wasn't a good idea to insult someone could vary easily kill her. One wrong move on her part could end up with him using her own knife against her, if he wasn't already planning to do that.

She closed her eyes, and tried to think of possible ways out of this. Ric had taught her a few ways to defend herself, but none of them ever involved being physically trapped and incapacitated by a possibly supernatural creature who had a weapon. She'd really have to take this up with him if she survived this. She was pretty tired of always having her life put at risk. She never did anything but be born, but somehow that led to her in the middle of what could easily be a war involving all sorts of beings. Shouldn't she at least have done something to deserve coming an inch from death everywhere she went, let alone in her own home.

Somehow as her thoughts shifted from defense strategies to her personal pity party another person came into the picture. Elena's eyes shot open as she heard someone say, "And just what in the hell are you doing?"

She looked for the sound of the voice and located the origin of it was a very pretty raven haired woman maybe a few years older than her standing by the doorway. She looked familiar in a way, but couldn't place a name to her face. Maybe she had seen her in a picture or at a party. Though she didn't think past that since suddenly the woman's upper lip lifted in a snarl that made her seem more animal than human, and her eyes flashed a toxic green over grey.

That stunned Elena, and it must have stunned the man behind her since he jerked liked he had been shocked. "It'd do you well to release her and get the hell out of this house before the cops show up," the woman said in a voice that was closer to hiss.

The hand around her wrist that was holding the knife loosened slightly. Though it was enough that Elena was able to move her wrist and jerk herself out from her captor. She forgot about the other person in the room as she shoved the large knife behind her into the man and turned to face him.

Though instead of the solid man that was holding onto her, the knife was hanging in the middle of an opaque figure that was quickly becoming transparent.

"Watch out," a deep voice coming out of the nearly see-through said.

Then suddenly Elena was holding a knife in midair, and the space in front of her was empty like there had been anything there. She blinked a few times before dropping the knife like it was a hot iron. She stumbled back into the cabinet behind her, and shakely sunk against it till she was sitting on the floor. Her breath was coming in and out in gasps as she tried to comprehend just what the hell had happened.

She pushed an unsteady hand through her hair trying to steady herself with the normally soothing habit. It didn't help since she became hyperaware that there was another person still in the room. The black haired woman whose eyes flashed green and had looked liked a wild animal moments before. A thousand questions, orders, and exclamations came to mind as she stared at her. But the only thing that would come out of her mouth was, "Did you see that?"

She knew that she had startled the man who held Elena hostage when his grip slackened. Suddenly Elena whirled around, plunging the knife into the man and Jory stepped forward, eager to help incase the man stopped the knife, or tried anything. And then he was gone. Well, not gone, just...not totally there. She froze, her eyes wide as she watched the man slowly fade out of existance, his whispered words shocking her. Were they for Elena? And how the hell did he just disappear like that? Marjorie herself stared at the knife, as if it was the cause of all the confusion and it took her a moment to register what Elena said. Did she see that? She couldn't help the snort as she herself relaxed slightly, her shoulders slumping in confusion and a hand shooting out to lean against the wall. "My god, I wish I hadn't" She murmured, eyes slipping to the girl and she offered up a small smile. "You okay Elena?" She was looking for any sign of wounds or bruises but of course there was nothing. She sighed, running her hand through her hair as well before inching forward to where the man had been. She hesitantly leaned down, picking up the knife and examing it before setting it on the counter.

She turned to Elena then, just as cautious about approaching Elena as she was about the knife. She kneeled down, reaching out a hand to the brunette girl, careful to keep her expression free of that animalistic snarl that had been there just few moments prior. "I'm sorry to burst in here, I definately didn't want to meet Jenna's niece this way" She said gently, a small smile on her face. "My names Marjorie Kane, I went to high school with your aunt Jenna" She was hoping the girl didn't ask about the whole eye change thing, it wasn't something that Jory really could control and she didn't want to involve someone else in all this crazy supernatural stuff. She'd get a kick out of it if she realized just how involved Elena really was in all this craziness. She didn't really know what else to do, except keep her hand extended in friendship, her face smooth and open. If Elena accepted she'd help pull the girl up onto her feet, then perhaps they could figure out what was going on.
