Lower Levels
With moist, pungent air and a dingy atmosphere, the lower levels of Hogwarts are not the most pleasant of places. Still, it is not entirely abandoned, at least not by the Slytherins who call this floor their home. With a maze-work of hidden paths no one has yet dared to follow, the task of navigating Hogwart's lower levels is a daunting one.

Ground Floor
Upon entering the castle, you are met by a grand stone staircase leading up towards the Great Hall. However, there are also several doorways which lead elsewhere. The most easy to navigate floor, and also the most grand.

Here can be found many different classrooms, including defense against the dark arts and muggle studies, along with a set of famous ghost portraits. The teacher's lounge is also located here.

Hallways & Staircases
Hogwarts is filled with hallways and moving staircases that will take you wherever you need to go. Just try not to get disoriented. With constantly shifting surroundings, students are rarely able to take the same route twice.

Towers
Inside Hogwarts’ many towers are the Ravenclaw common room and Divinations office. You can also venture up to the ever popular Astronomy tower, which boasts a magnificent view of Hogwarts and its environs.

Gardens
The Hogwarts gardens are separated from the rest of the grounds by tall hedges. A path weaves between them, forming an enjoyable little maze between the flowers, white stone benches and various birds which sometimes frequent it. A relaxing atmosphere in which to commune with nature, or perhaps a romantic rendezvous.

Lake
Inhabited by Hogwarts infamous giant squid, the lake is not as friendly as it first appears. However, once students have gotten over their squeamishness, they tend to linger around its fringes and even roll up their trousers to wade a little. Still, you can only tempt fate so far, and it is best to be on your guard.

Greenhouses
Lush greenery can be found within the Hogwarts greenhouses. Though some are the location of Herbology classes, others are simply homes of many exotic plants both magical and otherwise. Heaven for all students interested in Herbology, boring for everyone else.

A wide field with bleachers on either side. Perfect for play Quidditch. Here you will find Quidditch games, practices, try outs and just students trying to work out some tension. Wonder who will win the Quidditch cup this year.

Forbidden Forest
Referred to by students as the Forbidden Forest or just “the forest” it is a place which incurs much fear and excitement amongst Hogwarts residents. The home of many different wild and dangerous creatures, it is consequently off-limits to students. You must have done something particularly bad, to get a detention in here.

Knockturn Alley
Just around the corner from Diagon Alley lies a dark, twisting alleyway devoted to the Dark Arts. From the shops and the street vendors one can purchase, among other things, shrunken heads, and poisonous candles. Not only are the wares suspicious, but the people here seem rather suspicious as well.

Hogsmeade
Hogsmede is the only entirely wizarding village in Britain still in operation. Just down the road from Hogwarts school, this village is a haven for the students, who are allowed to come down on select Satrudays. Students can wander, shop and relax here.

Founded in late 1500s or early 1600s by Mungo Bonham, St. Mungo's Hospital is located in London. The Healers at St. Mungo's are trained and equipped to treat a wide variety of magic-related illnesses and injuries. The staff wear lime green robes. The St. Mungo's emblem is a wand and a bone, crossed.
