Jipwirata is a very large, fluffy creature, though he wouldn’t ever want people to call him fluffy. He likes to think he is menacing, but at the same time dislikes being called a beast. He stands at 90 inches and is covered in a mid-length coat of thick hair. The hair consists of various shades of brown, and he keeps it nice and groomed. Most of the time. He has lighter fur on his chin, eyebrows, and the top of his arms and feet. He has put some silver ornaments in his fur near the neck/chest area.
As for how Jip holds himself depends on who he is around, but most of the changes are done unconsciously. When he’s alone he’s relaxed, but the moment someone steps into the room he becomes more alert and prepared. When he’s around someone he doesn’t like he’ll tense up. Depending on how much he dislikes someone depends on how much he looks like he’s ready to attack them. When around people he respects or wants to prove himself to he’ll stand up straighter than he otherwise might. Around close friends or family he appears very laid back.
Jip prefers to wear the clothes he always wore growing up: light Wookiee armor. Of course as he grew up he got new clothes that fit him. This armor has various different designs and ornaments on it and comes with a belt from which he can hang the scabbard of kyyk blades. The color of it is made to blend in with his fur to allow for better camouflage.
He was very distressed to learn he had to wear robes with the Jekore, by but this time it was already too late to back out. Robes were dresses. Warriors didn’t wear dresses, but apparently he would. This logic never made sense to him. Even if the Jekore weren’t warriors in the sense that many Wookiees were warriors, they still learned to fight. They made lightsabers and used them. Why would they wear dresses? Dresses were hard to move in. They interfered with everyday movement.
Jip wears his brown trainee dresses as seldom as he can get away with. He doesn’t let wearing them stop him from doing what he wants, and at least doesn’t make a point to wreck them. So way he wants to climb something, he’ll hitch the hem of the dresses up and tie them around so he has freer use of his legs without risking the rips and tears.
- Jichiir the Translator Droid
Shortly after Jip found out he would be leaving Kashyyyk for a world that wouldn’t have any idea what the hell he was saying he knew he needed to find a way to communicate. He settled on getting a translator droid, and found a broken Z-58-0 security droid being sold by one of the outside merchants visiting the planet. Jip bought it off him, put a speaker in its mouth, and redid its programming so that it would translate whatever he said.
Jichiir does have AI capabilities and is very much a she. Sometimes she rebels against Jip if she doesn’t appreciate his treatment of her or other people, but this is usually squished easily when Jip threatens her with the fusioncutter. Other times she simply malfunctions and messes up translations.
Jip is very protective over Jichiir, treating the droid as though it was a member of his family. He would never actually use his fusioncutter on her.
- Ryyk Blade x2
Jipwirata owns two ryyk blades of his own construction, something of which he is very proud of. He knows how to use them and prefers to have at least one of them near or on his person at all times.
- Bowcaster
Jip has a special sling he can wear so that he can make sure it’s safe in case he must use his hands for whatever reason. He’s currently in the process of figuring out how to modify it so that it will shoot pure energy, but as of yet he has been unsuccessful. Now that he has joined the Jekore he’s unsure of when he will manage this.
- Fusioncutter
The fusioncutter Jip owns looks like a hammer, but he wouldn’t use it as one. If he wanted to hit someone with a blunt object he’d hit them with his fist. No, his fusioncutter is for his mechanical work, he just didn’t want the F-187 because he felt it was just far too small.
- Survival Abilities
If there’s one thing Jipwirata is good at it is surviving in some unknown place. He is quite proud at his various skills in this area though he doesn’t brag about it. (The large number of other Wookiees being skilled in this area sort of weans it out of you.) In fact he may not even bring it up unless he is asked, must use them, or is called upon to teach someone else. These skills include making rope, tents, and utensils from various planets, locating freshwater, navigating without getting lost, figuring out which plants and insects are edible and which are poisonous (he’s usually right), and how to avoid predators. He also has basic understanding of first aid.
- Aim
Jip has excellent aim with ranged weapons, specifically with his bowcaster, but his aim doesn’t end with guns and crossbows. He’s also talented at picking up random objects and chucking them accurately at targets with plenty of power behind them.
- Wookiee Combat
Wookiees are known for their use of excessive force to render an enemy harmless, and Jip did not miss out on his training in his species’ fierce fighting style. Since he was young, he has been using, practicing, and furthering his it. This includes without weapons, with ryyk blades, and with bowcasters.
- Climbing
Jip loves to climb and climbs often because of it. The harder it is to climb the more he wants to climb it. With his claws he’s capable of climbing things those without claws would need equipment for. One thing that has resulted in this is that Jip doesn’t like to sit in chairs. He prefers to flop onto the floor, sit on a table, or climb onto something higher and hang out there.
- Mechanical Repair
If his bowcaster malfunctions he would either fix it himself or have someone teach him to fix it. If whatever he was flying broke down it was the same. If it was mechanical and belonged to him he would fix it or participate in the fixing of it. When things of his friends or family broke, he would butt in. This had led him to be very good at repairing mechanical things, and because he can repair advanced mechanical things he is capable of building simpler ones. Some from scratch.
- Flying
Because Jip is great at flying the Wookiee ornithopters and oevvaor jet catamarans he thinks he can fly anything. He has flown smaller starships, but never in space. While his being a fast learner does extend to his being in the pilot’s seat, he is very experimental in his learning. This means he may fling the crew around inside the vessel while he’s learning, assuming they’re daft enough not to be strapped in somewhere, before he finally figures it out, and it will take longer still before he can pull off the fancy stuff.
- Languages
Like most Wookiees Jip picks up on languages exceedingly quick, but understanding them and speaking them are completely different things. Jip can speak different Wookiee languages, but he is limited to Wookiee languages.

[Jipwirata’s Core Powers are pitiful, probably because he barely knows how to use the Force at all. He can vaguely use Force speed and jump right now, but not at all impressively. As for telekinesis, Jip has always assumed that if he wanted to move something, he could use his strength to move it.]
Jipwirata considers himself a very honorable, courageous Wookiee, if a little forceful around the edges. What he actually is does not contain itself to just the edges. Jip often resorts to force or brute strength when something needs to be done. He isn’t all brawn, though, he just has a short temper as, he is quick to defend himself with, so many other Wookiees.
Jip has an intelligent side to him, a side that shows itself mostly in his survival and mechanical abilities rather than his common sense. He is usually a very fast learner, especially in things dealing with his hands.
When he isn’t losing his temper, Jip can be very gentle. He’s aware that as a Wookiee he’s stronger than many of the “little species” and tries his best to control his strength. (This is assuming he’s not angry.) Jip is very affectionate towards his family and friends, sometimes overly so. Once he has officially decided that someone is his friend he is deeply loyal to them. This said, if someone manages to lose this loyalty it’s rare that they will get it back, especially because Jip would not revoke it easily in the first place.
To a certain extent he is distrustful of strangers, but he does try to be friendly unless given a reason not to be. He tries especially hard for acquaintances. How the person may react to a large Wookiee joyfully approaching at fast speeds depends on the person. In this way his affectionate nature ventures outside the realm of friends and family.
Confidence is something Jip has no trouble with. In fact, he usually thinks he’s better at things than he really is. If he doesn’t understand something he’ll tinker around with it, thinking that if he can only look and fiddle with it for a few minutes he’ll catch on. He has destroyed things doing this, and those destroyed things are often deemed faulty. He does know how to take responsibility for the things he does when called to do so, though. If he happens to have wrecked something he knows a friend really liked he’ll do it himself, he just doesn’t like to face the fact he’s might not be good at something he believes he should be. It conflicts with his usual world view and confuses him.
One thing Jip especially likes to do is dance, and not some contained, in one spot dance. He also likes his friends to dance with him, and will “encourage” them to do so whether or not they may particularly want to.
Jip isn’t used to talking to non-Wookiees, and because of this he often talks to anyone as he would someone who understands his culture as well as he does. It can lead to him saying things people on other planets might find surprising or threatening. He is not good at being subtle or filtering what he says.
From a pup Jipwirata was interested in becoming a warrior, and he was good at it, too. He grew up bothering everyone to teach him this and teach him that, from some technique he was far from qualified to learn to his cousin’s broken bowcaster. Most of the time they shooed him off, telling him he didn’t know enough, but it never got rid of his habit of trying to learn more than he was ready for.
He was around ten when he first tried to talk to his family about his hrrtayyk. They convinced him that he should wait until he was older. A month later he tried again. Apparently a month didn’t make him old enough. So he waited until he was eleven. Because he was worried his family would turn him off again he went straight to the elders. They told him he wasn’t ready. Everyone found this amusing and Jip couldn’t figure out why.
Some months after turning twelve he consulted the elders again, and this time they deemed him ready. He wasn’t entirely sure why he was more ready now than he was before, as far as he had been concerned he’d been ready for two years, but he wasn’t about to complain now that he could finally prepare for it. He talked to his relatives and close friends about what his challenge should be, and eventually it was decided he would venture to the Shadowlands and kill a katarn with a two other.
It was one of the proudest moments of his life when they reached the ground floor. They survived a night and on the second day they found a katarn. Well, the katarn found them. It surprised them by leaping at Jip, who managed to shove his bowcaster in its mouth to stop it from taking a bite out of him. While he delt with it on the ground the other two shot at it. Eventually they managed to kill it. After they bandaged his wounds they took turns dragging it back.
When they made it back each of them presented themselves as an adult. Shortly after he made his first official ryyk blade. His hrrtayyk wasn’t the only time he hunted the katarn. He continued to go out and hunt them, but he never went back to the Shadowlands. Over the years he bettered himself, both as a warrior and with mechanics. Eventually he made his second ryyk blade and began to focus on becoming a Berserker. He even once got to ride a trained katarn. Everything was going great.
At least until his sister discovered that he had the Force.
When she realized Jip was Force sensitive, she told everyone. This frustrated him to no end because many of friends wanted him to leave Kashyyyk to find a teacher so he could make use of it. Jip didn’t want to; in fact he flat out refused. He didn’t care about the Force, he cared about his friends and his family and his life. If everyone else made do without the Force, so could he. He’d been doing that for all his life so far anyway.
She never quite stopped forcing the issue with him, and when a Jekore showed up on Kashyyyk asking about him she was thrilled. Jip was eventually persuaded, grudgingly, to give up his life there to join the Jekore to learn to make use of what ability he had.
And so he was shipped off and became a Jekore newblood, waiting for the ward that would be unfortunate enough to take him on, until finally Kazmer took him on.
