There Are No Coincidences

[Jipwirata]

Jipwirata did not just fall into the lake, he fell in before he managed to shut his mouth, sending dirty lake water all into his mouth and partly down his throat as he went under. Blasted pygmies! He thrashed and flailed with all his fur and robe because he broke to the surface coughing and cursing. Whatever he’d tripped over he was going to dismember every part of them with his bare hands. Trip him into the water would they! He’d use their arms as toothpicks why they were twitching on the damned ground like a bug.

Growling and muttering he looked around for whatever poor, soon-to-be-dead sod had tripped him. He’d pick the arms first. The arms were always best for starting, at least on normal people. When Jip saw the... Xexto, they had always looked liked like a starving starfish with clothes on to him, his mood for vengeance turned sour. White robes! Jip had seen him before, though not talked to him. And now a ward was standing there smiling telling them they both needed to be more aware!

How unfair!

He was little more than half his size! If you saw a mountain moving towards you, didn’t you get the heck out of the way?! Ah, but... maybe there was some truth in his words. What sort of warrior tripped twice within such close intervals? In the forests of his home he had treaded across areas with all sorts of rocks and creatures and rarely tripped, if ever! Being with the Jekore was making him lazy. Too much Force and too little real exercise. None of this worked to improve his mood.

Jip stalked to the lake’s edge and climbed out. The moment he was on the ground he shook himself, limbs and all, sending water flying in all directions from his soaking wet fur. It didn’t occur to him until after he’d done it that maybe he shouldn’t have, but it made him feel a bit better when he couldn’t dissemble the ward or push him into the lake.

“Do you get tripped over a lot?” he asked the ward, scowling.

Watching the Wookiee thrashing about, Kazmer giggled a little. The entire affair reminded him somewhat of some small animals, who were deathly afraid of water and would thrash wildly to escape it without much thought to how difficult they were making their efforts. He had never heard anything about the Wookiees sharing a similar fear, or even come across any of their kind who betrayed anything of the sort, so Jipwirata's response was odd indeed.

Odder still was the fury when the Wookiee freed himself, angry growls and swears filling the air as he fought his way free up the bank looking as if he wanted nothing more than to treat the person who had tripped him to a harsh revenge of some kind. That was something Kazmer was going to have to work on, it being highly unbecoming of any Jekore. Still, trainees weren't to be harshly reprimanded for such a thing, simply shown the proper path!

Before Kazmer had much of a chance of enlightening the Wookiee to this proper path however he was interrupted by the necessity to leap backwards suddenly, white robes billowing behind him. In that moment, what seemed like half of the lake erupted from the Wookiee as he shook his fur dry, water being flung in all directions as Jip recovered. With a small laugh at this, safely dry as he was on a little rock he had perched himself on Kazmer wondered what Draze would say of such a thing, though found himself distracted from the human by a question.

"Do you trip over people a lot?" Kazmer replied with a wry little grin.

This was to be an amusing pairing indeed, the three of them together seemed to scale upwards in height if they stood side by side. It was going to make for an interesting Ward-Trainee pairing. Very interesting indeed, personalities also taken into account from his first impressions... Still, Kazmer could hardly stand around thinking about this all day! He had trainees to bring under his tutorage, trainees to develop into fine young Knights! Hopefully of the Gok'Re pathway, but that was a choice for the youngsters that was still a tiny speck in their future.

"Anyway!" Kazmer squeaked, waving all four of his arms to blast away any previous conversation. "We have lots to do! Jipwirata and Draze Crane, follow me!"

With these words Kazmer hopped down off the rock and started to walk in the opposite direction of the two. He was going to take them back to his little enclosure, as it would be the meeting place for almost any training session the two were likely to have in the future. Kazmer would have to introduce them to the area and instruct them on the care and maintenance of his plants. Oh how they would enjoy having friends over to visit! It was going to be wonderful!

The little, multiple armed creature seemed awfully amused at Jip’s unfortunate fall into the lake. And after he asked his question the ward answered him with another question. Jip stared blankly at him for a moment as his mind processed the very valid question. Twice in a few minutes. Before that? Jip couldn’t remember. Did that count as a lot?

“Only while I’ve been here.” Jip abruptly started laughing. Selvaris must be making him lazy, and there was only one thing he could do to fix it. He had to stop being lazy! He needed more training. Too many classes to use the Force and not enough about using his own body. Warriors could not afford to get lazy! When they did they fell into lakes and over people, and in any other place those people would be enemies.

It was a very good thing there were no enemies here, because you didn’t face your adversaries in a dress, unarmed, and oblivious.

Jip watched the little Xexto wave all his arms to change the conversation and tell him and Draze to follow him, and then without waiting to see if they were following him took off. It only occurred to the Wookiee after a few steps that the bald human wasn’t coming with them. No, it seemed the dudderhead had actually wandered off at some point, probably well before the ward had told them to follow.

“Um, sir. Mr.? Ward? Actually I have no idea what I’m supposed to call you,” he mused while his droid translated, but Jichiir was bobbing in random directions in the air ahead of him, her usual gesture for trying to remind Jip that he was getting off track of something he originally intended, which was that the other trainee had probably walked off following a leaf or day dreaming at the sky.

“Draze isn’t here,” he informed the war while he followed the little man and made sure not to accidently kick him or fall over him again. Doing either to your higher ups usually made them frown, and as the man seemed in a good mood he probably shouldn’t go about making it worse. Jip loved being in a good mood after all, so he knew!

When the Wookiee burst out laughing, accompanied with his comment about it being a development brought on by his time on Selvaris...well...the only thing Kazmer could do in response to that was join in the laughter! Small as he was, even Kazmer could realise that it wouldn't be too hard for someone as big as Jipwirata to have trouble navigating Selvaris. There were trainees wooshing about everywhere, then he had the small-species such as Kazmer to deal with on top of that! Oh, such hassle in being a Wookiee!

"I can see how that would come to be." he mused once the laughter had subsided.

With the merriment set aside for the moment, and Kazmer and his two Trainees heading off in another direction Kazmer was pulled from thoughts about the various plants he wanted to harvest for his little garden by Jipwirata, seemingly confused about what to call his Ward. It made him grin once more, he'd never been called Sir before! Or Mr! It was so...alien to him to be referred to in such a way that it took a while for the little Xexto to get around to responding.

"Kazmer!" he replied, clapping two hands together happily. "Or Ward, if you feel the need to be embedded in honorific's forever!" he giggled.

When Jipwirata then went on to pronounce the evacuation of their fellow, well, Kazmer was utterly baffled! He hadn't sensed one bit of that, likely since he was in a very subdued state today and wasn't actively probing. Sometimes he let himself drift a little on Selvaris, to slack off and not be constantly aware of everything. It was probably a contributing factor to being tripped over by Wookiees, something that Kazmer should not make a habit of.

"Now...that is odd." he muttered, squinting up at the Wookiee. "I will catch up with Mr. Draze later..." he giggled, holding a stiff finger in the air.

Laugh it off now as he might, the idea of a student just wandering off without saying a word to their Ward was a little troubling. He would have to remind Draze of what he had become a part of here, and what he was expected to do in his life with the Jekore. Wandering off from a Ward wasn't the greatest way to introduce yourself to your new teacher, and it showed a level of disrespect for the Jekore ways that was unsettling to the old Xexto.

"Don't you try it, or I might have to wander in front of your legs again..." he warned in a light tone.
