Whatever beautiful thing Zerin felt the need to tease her about between her and Gil had died gloriously in a public display of flailing testicles. There was no coming back from that. Ever, as far as she was concerned, and she let Zerin know that by giving him a dirty look but not responding. Maybe he’d stop teasing her for the moment if she just stopped talking about it. Besides, they had a job to focus on! Surely he could stop making fun of her long enough for that. And if he insisted, perhaps she’s just tell Zerin exactly why she didn’t need to feel bad for sleeping with Gil. For all the stupidity he’d shown afterwards, before that had been quite something.. she was sure Zerin would love to hear all the details.

Zahra’s eyes widened slightly as Zerin tweaked her cheek. What in hell? “Wha—you--” she started before her jerk of a brother was suddenly running off! Bah! She growled under her breath, but then couldn’t help it and shook her head with a slight laugh. Oh all the behavior you could expect or think would come from the Head of the Invisible Fist, that most certainly was not it.

She moved out of site while she waited for Zerin to distract the shopkeeper, and even after he was distracted stayed a tad bit longer. Watching her brother behave like that made her want to laugh, but she had to be happy with grinning so she wouldn’t make any noise and draw attention to herself. She wished she could record it.

He probably wouldn’t be able to keep that up for long, though, so she hurried up and slipped into the alley and made her way to the top of the roof. She sat on the roof out of eyeshot and quickly assembled the hidden parts back onto the rifle she thought about how she was going to get out of here. She needed to get the hell out of there and disassemble her weapon, both without being seen. After the shot she imagined the shopkeeper would be distracted enough that she could get down the same way, but if he wasn’t she might have to come up with another way. For all the planning she could do to prepare herself it would all depend on circumstance. Because of that doing it spur of the moment was the best method she would have. She was good at hiding, so she was certain she could walk away from this.

With her weapon ready she shifted into position and looked through the scope for her target. The shot was as perfect as they’d expected, though far. The idiot Arik Nekeel was carelessly in front of his stall. She could make this shot, oh yes. She’d land it straight into his arrogant head. She moved slightly, held the gun steady, and then pulled the trigger.

She barely saw the shot collide with his skull before she ducked back down and made for the exit. The screams were enough confirmation if she needed any. Nekeel was dead. That’s what happened if you crossed the Viezan, whether or not you were on CR-319. She’d only made it off the roof before she started taking off the extra parts from her rifle. With these parts off there was no way her rifle could make such a shot.

The best time to get the final confirmation was before she was back out on the streets. She used her comlink to ask Zerin a very simple question.

“Was it successful?”

Zerin was really getting tired of the retard act when he heard a loud crashing sound somewhere behind him. The sound was followed by a number of screams and as Zerins eyes found the location he noticed a very crumpled looking Nekeel. Poor fellow, it was a terribly violent world they lived in, barbarians with weapons were everywhere! It marked something for Zerin though, and that was the signal to get the fuck out.

"Oh..well." Zerin started in his dumb voice again, staring blankly. "Me no li-Oh, who the hell am I kidding, you're not even paying attention!" he spat, walking away from the shopkeep who at that moment decided to make his way towards the scene of the crime.

Making his way across to where he had last left his sister Zerin spotted her joining up with the crowd again, rifle packed away neatly, everything far from suspicious. Just the way he liked it, a clean mission, a clean shot. She might have slept with a guard along the way but it wasn't a big deal, they were successful. Had they run into any trouble Zahra would have of course been blamed for the entire affair, since had they been earlier they might not have encountered the trouble at all!

"Yes." Zerin announced, not through his comlink however as he had managed to catch up wuth Zahara and was now right behind her.

He was pretty impressed with how clean it all was. He imagined that had he sent Zharko he would have ended up with a bloodbath and Zoltan would have spent about 10 hours conducting some elaborate ruse. Zahra was probably the closest to his own ways of thinking within the Shapani family, scary as that thought was...

"Nice shot, not that I had any doubts you'd make it..." He grinned, clamping a hand on his sisters shoulder. "How about we go find ourselves something to distract us a little bit from returning to Abregado-Rae? I'm sure there's some important business for us that will lengthen our trip..."

With this Zerin strolled off, hoping Zahra caught his meaning. He knew she was as shy of time with their sister as he was and wouldn't mind extra company whilst he was avoiding the Queen of the Shapani.

The best time to get the final confirmation was before she was back out on the streets. She used her comlink to ask Zerin a very simple question.

“Was it successful?”
