T H E B A S I C S
NAME: please include the first, middle and last name(s) – both their legal name and the name they may go by, if they’re travelling under an assumed one.
NICKNAMES: please attempted to make them reasonable and appropriate to the time period.
AGE: please include age, birth date and birth year.
GENDER: self explanatory.
NATIONALITY: English, French, Irish, Italian, Canadian, American, etc.
HOMETOWN: where they were born and/or grew up.
CURRENT HOME: grew up in Paris but currently living in London? note that here.
MARITAL STATUS: single, engaged, married, divorced, widowed?
SOCIAL CLASS: not first, second, third, etc. that’s your class on ship. is your character a member of the upper class, middle class or lower class? things like “high society” or “dirt poor” will also do the trick.
TRAVELLING CLASS: what class tickets will they have on the Titanic?
OCCUPATION: what sort of employment does your character have?
SEXUAL ORIENTATION: straight? bisexual? homosexual?
PORTRAYAL: who is your characters playby? make sure they haven’t been claimed!

LIKES: please list at least ten. they can be listed either vertical or horizontal.
DISLIKES: please list at least ten. they can be listed either vertical or horizontal.
STRENGTHS: please list at least five. they can be listed either vertical or horizontal.
WEAKNESSES: please list at least five. they can be listed either vertical or horizontal.

PERSONALITY: personality goes here. you need a minimum of 3-4 paragraphs. note that a paragraph generally consists of 5-7 sentences so your whole personality should be no less than 15 sentences. more is certainly better, so we can get a feel for your character. if you’re making a female character, please note that women were financially and socially dependant on men – fathers, brothers, husbands, uncles – during this time period. any ‘strong, outspoken’ women need to have a legitimate reason for being this way.

HISTORY: your history must be 4-5 paragraphs minimum. please note that a paragraph should be 5-7 sentences approximately so your history should be no shorter than 20 sentences at bare minimum. please make sure to cover all the important details in your character’s life. their defining moments, their greatest traumas and joys. if a family member died, we want to know how they changed and developed due to it. if their dreams fell apart, tell us how it shaped them. through your character’s history we can get to know them a little bit. often it’s easier to write the history before the personality so that when you write the personality you know what events have shaped them and what sort of person they might be because of those events.
