First Class Staterooms First class staterooms could vary from the ridiculously extravagant (such as the parlour suites) to tiny but tasteful bedrooms. Prices for staterooms varied significantly, each one costing a small fortune. However, regardless of the size or price, these rooms were beautiful and far exceeded expectations – even to those who were completely accustomed to a life of glamour and splendour. Some staterooms had a bathroom attached, but many did not as this was a new and impressive feature in an ocean liner.

Dining Areas For the first class passengers on board the Titanic there was plenty of variety in their dining choices. They had the Dining Saloon, the À la Carte Restaurant and the Verandah Cafe to choose from. All three options were classy and elegant, each one prized for different reasons. The decor varied significantly between the three.

Entertainment Areas There were plenty of ways for men and women to entertain themselves in first class. Although it should be noted that the primary activity of the day was general socializing, White Star Line spared no expense in making sure that their passengers would be as comfortable as they could make them. The Gymnasium, Swimming Pool and Reading & Writing Room were just some of the many activities available for the wealthy.

Hallways and Corridors Lushly carpeted and kept immaculately clean, these halls are the perfect place to meet up with friends and family between meals or on your way to a particular destination. The halls are wide and brightly lit, paneled and cozy. There is plenty of room to linger and chat, else you can simply use them to get from point A to point B.

The Decks White Star Line disliked the look of lifeboats, which is why there are only 16 lifeboats along the Titanic’s new decks. While not the safest, it does provide plenty of room for a nice stroll while the weather permits. There are deckchairs to be rented for a small fee, and plenty of space to lean against the rails and watch the waves.
