Kara smiled through her tears, making a cup for Martha as well. "Cream? Sugar?" Kara asked her, then added what Martha asked him to do. "Here's your coffee, Martha." Kara said then sat down next to Martha. "Oh, it's nothing. Just..." Kara started, new tears threatening to fall.

"When I was in the Netherlands, I met this guy who was really nice to me, way before Lex and his assistant came and brought me back to Smallville. I want to see him again. I miss him, Martha. I know I can fly and all, so I could easily fly over there, but I don't want Clark to worry about me. And since you have got such a great influence, I was hoping if you maybe could arrange for him to come to Smallville." Kara explained to Martha, while sipping her own coffee. Her clear blue eyes looking over at Martha, wondering what she thought of this.

"So you want me to use my connections and arrange for someone you have a crush on to come her to the US? Kara that's not how things work here. If the cercomstances were different then maybe I could arrange something for you." Martha gave a heartfelt look to the young Kryptonian she really had a lot to learn. "I'm sorry if I upset you more but there really isn't anything I can do.....now I wont stop you from flying over there ....JUST...be careful." Clark had warned her that Kara was a bit recklace when it came to her use of her abilities in front of people and that made Martha worry. It was hard enough teaching CLark to be very careful and now she found herself doing it again, this time to Kara. She never in her life expected to be blessed with 2 interstellar beings. It certainly wasn't easy but she felt blessed to do so. All that was missing was Jonathan and that ripped at her soul everyday. Martha had taken one sip of her coffee and set it down as she stood from the table. "I'm sorry" she apologised again, knowing she'd upset the young Kryptonian. Not wanting to cause more stress she walked out of the kitchen and outside, heading towards the barn.

"I HATE YOU! You're JUST LIKE Clark! All you do is treat me like dead air! I want to help with the Choronzon threat and what do you TWO do?! That's right, TREAT me like a 5 year old! Protect this, protect that, protect Martha!" Kara yelled after Martha. "I finally get to talk with Clark after everything that has happened, he FINALLY opens his big mouth to say something to me and what do you THINK happens?! His damn CELLPHONE rings! Do you THINK he tells me what is going on? Of course not! Do you THINK he says we'll talk later? NO! His own Kryptonian flesh and blood!" Kara yelled at her. "I finally found someone who truly loves me, and not even that cannot be accepted. Whatever, I'm so out of here. Be sure to call Kal-El for me, he can't fly anyway. So I doubt anybody is going to go after me."

"For all I know, I don't HAVE a cousin!" Kara said, and stormed off then launched herself into the air... far, far away from Smallville.

Martha heard Kara's rant and the words "I HATE YOU!!!" stung. She had stopped walking towards the barn just in time to see Kara fly up up and away. Martha shook her head in disapointment, but the disapointnent was aimed more at herself then Kara. Sure Kara needed to grow up a bit but Martha didn't do the girl any bit of justice by rejecting her plea. She sighed softly knowing she'd have to tell Clark what she'd done and he wouldn't be pleased. She momeentarilly wondered if Lionel was still taking her out to dinner sometime soon. There previous dinner date postponed because she nearly wasn't alive to attend it. The stress was getting to her and she began to wonder why she'd come home in the first place. "Some vacation" she muttered in frustration as she headed back to the house. Once inside she chose to call Clark instead of avoiding the inevidable task of explaining things. She grabbed the house phone and sat at the kitchen table and dialed Clark's cell, hoping her son would pick it up.


RING RING RING (Clark's cell phone)

Halfway into the second ring in her call to Clark, Martha's call waiting cut in.

The caller ID showed that it was one of Lionel's cell phone.

Martha heard her phone beep after the second ring. She looked at the ID and the Id said it was from Lionel. She hit a button on her phone and spoke softly into the hone. "Hello?" she waited for a response. As she waited she was actually a bit relieved to have her call to Clark disrupted. She really didn't want to upset him with the news about Kara right now. She grabbed her coffee and took a sip.

"Martha," Lionel said on the other end. "It's good to hear your voice."

He paused, and cleared his throat. Something was going on.

On the plane, Lionel looked over at one of the other people on board and nodded. This person, a satellite tech, began to track the phone signal that Lionel and Martha were on.

"Listen, Martha, I'm headed out of the country. There's been an attempt on my life. I'm trying to get ahold of you because I was wondering if you wanted to come with me."

Lionel sat, waiting on the answer.

Martha was happy to hear Lionel's voice but her joy was shortlived by the news he told her. She was shocked and remained silent for nearly 20 seconds. "I......uhhhh" was all she managed to say at first. Questions raced through her mind like a runaway train. What about Kara? What will Clark think? Should she go? What good was she doing at home? "Yes!" she suddenly said. "I want to go with you" she added, using a very sinsere tone. She didn't want anything to happen to Lionel and the thought of losing him like she had Jonathan made her want to scream out in frustration. She waited for him to answer, hoping he wasn't to upset with her for not having an imediate answer. It was a foolish thought, she knew Lionel better thn that and if anything , her having to take the time to think was a good thing. It meant she wasn't being recklace.

"Very good, Martha. I will be more than happy to have you along," Lionel said softly. He smiled a bit, and then raised his eyebrows at the person sitting at the control console. The person smiled, and then nodded his head.

"Just... stand right where you are, Martha. I'll have you up here in no time... literally."

Lionel nodded to another person in the cabin of the plane, who began to concentrate. A bright white light flared up in the cabin...

... and at the Kent Farmhouse in Smallville, Kansas, Senator Martha Kent vanished into thin air, the only evidence of her disappearance her cellphone clattering to the floor.

Kara's feet touched down, with her lover in her arms. "Here we are, Jan, Smallville." Kara said as she kissed Jan softly on his lips. They were starting over... well, Jan was starting over in Smallville. After the rough couple of days that he had had, some nice tranquility with his girlfriend was just what the doctor ordered.

Jan followed Kara into the house. "Martha! Clark! Lois! I'm home!" Kara said, but heard nobody reply. "They're not here." Kara said a bit disappointed. "I would have loved for them to finally meet you, Jan." Kara said. Jan hugged Kara. "It's okay, baby." Jan whispered in her ear. "What would you like to do?" Kara whispered in his ear, her arms around his back. "Kiss you." Jan said with a grin.
"Well, what's stopping you?" Kara asked Jan with a grin on her face. Jan kissed her passionately on her lips. Kara moaned as they sank to the floor...
