Laike Morrel " never frown, you never know who could be falling in love with your smile " you say you're curious CAN'T LEAVE A THING TO YOUR IMAGINATION NAME: Laike (Lye-a-keh) Morrel AGE: 22 GENDER: Female BIRTHDAY: May 4 CLASS: Foreigner TITLE/RANK: Lady Laike of Elder Shore OCCUPATION: Musician
but oh, you seem so serious I SHOULD ENJOY THE SWEET INTERROGATION EYES: Light Blue HAIR: Golden Flax WEIGHT: 115 HEIGHT: 5' 4" PLAY-BY: Rosamund Pike
GENERAL: Laike is a woman who comes cloaked in the colors of winter sunlight. The delicate tendrils of light play upon fair hair cascading as curled ribbons about the tender curves of her cheeks. Her gaze of snowy frost favors the sweetest of shy expressions; her lashes falling to blush sweetly as a smile forms upon her lips. The rest of her is a willowy soul. The curves of her body are subtle, quaint, and never overbearing. Almost common, she would be easily overlooked save for the aura of her presence. She is a light creature, delicate in nature, and a woman born of ethereal grace.
ATTIRE: She dresses without too much extravagance. A simple blue silken dress falls across her shoulders and sweeps across the curves of her hips. The collar swells into a modest "V" about her neck to expose a simple silver necklace garnished with a silver medallion. Sleeves pull around her wrists and complete themselves with a sheer flair of white. In the summertime she can be seen traveling with a simple cloak of silver fastened with a brooch shaped as an elder leaf. In the winter she adorns a cloak of white fox furs lined with light blue silk and as many pockets as she could possibly desire. i should not be telling you I'M FLATTERED BY YOUR INTEREST LIKES: Waterscapes, Singing, Music, Quiet Life, All Things Simple DISLIKES: Laziness, Scams, Colds, Broken Strings, Staying in One Place STRENGTHS: Talented WEAKNESSES: Outspoken QUIRKS/HABITS: Twirls her hair around her fingers. FEARS: Reptiles GOALS: To make a name for herself outside Elder Shore
PERSONALITY: Laike is a woman who can drift unnoticed unless she wishes herself to be seen. She has a quiet way about her. She's observant, cautious, and would rather not interfere in the business of another unless the situation were utterly unavoidable. Though she's a passive creature, she has a way with words. Her silver tongue has gotten her out of a number of tricky situations and is quite likely to get her in a bind if she forgets to watch herself. Fortunately for her, she chooses to hide her amusement behind polite smiles and chooses her rhetoric carefully.
On her own she's prone to talking to both herself and the things around her. Animals bring cause to hold their own names. Inanimate objects become the source of much mischief. Nature itself opens the door to much laughter and a personality freed from the courtesy required within the company of another. Her spirit is a free one that finds more joy in the countryside and all the toils of this world. If given the choice, she would live remotely, but alas the demands for coin tempt her into the city where she often loses the very core of herself. you start to hypnotize me WHY SHOULD I TRUST YOU MOTHER: Vitoria Anne Harper Morrel FATHER: Sevren Brox Morrel SIBLINGS: Branden (M), Sabine (F), Kenton (M) OTHER: Gaven Trebble - Music Instructor FAMILIAR/PET: Korra - Snow Fox - Adopted During Her Travels PLACE OF BIRTH: Elder Shore CURRENT RESIDENCE: An Inn WEAPONRY: None
HISTORY: Laike was born as the fourth child to the Marquess Severn Morrel of Elder Shore. As the last child and a girl, she held little standing within her family and was destined to be married off to whoever would so bring the best alliance. As such, she was raised in the way of most nobility. Her governess taught her to cross-stitch and sew. She was taught etiquette of the dinner table and learned the names of nobility far and wide. It was music where she found her passion and with it the man who would change the course of her life.
Gaven Trebble was a man who would not take no for an answer. He taught Laike the scales and how to adjust her voice to match the ups and downs of various pitches and notes. Laike was a child prodigy and an excellent player of the lyre. With the stings in her hands, she could mesmerize a crowd with a single note. When she lifted her voice, the world seemed to melt away. It was little wonder that Gaven took interest in her, the daughter who would amount for nothing in the world of politics, but could make a fortune should she just lift her voice.
His greed placed the wonder of the stage within her mind. Out of curiosity and faith, she trusted him well enough to venture to a neighboring town to test the waters of he public. One performance and he was moving her on to bigger and greater things. Before she knew it, Elder Shore was behind her and the rest of the world was at her doorstep. She made a small name for herself and Gaven more than reaped the benefits. All too soon, he became too hasty and ended up in a twisted game of coin. Laike found Gaven belly down in an alley way, drowned in a pool of his own blood.
Appalled, she fled with what little she could find and took the road. She made modest coin for herself and with it appeased the wandering spirit within her. Over time she acquired a small fortune and used that, again, to pursue her traveling desires. Though one day she might think to return home to Elder Shore, for now she is content to travel where the wind might take her and performs only when she finds the need. who am i talking to COULD BE A DEMON IN A MASK OOC NAME: Matra AGE: 21 EXPERIENCE: 8+years CONTACT: PM MEMBER TITLE: Lady Lyre EXAMPLE: | QUOTE | It was quiet. The gentle wind of a summer morning breeze danced delicately over the plushness of her face. She sighed; drawing one arm over her eyes to block out the rising sun. Korra made a noise as she shifted. The snow fox drew herself out from beneath her head, leaving Laike to lay back upon the soft grass. Her lingering arm moved to fill the void of her companion. A leg lifted, crossing over its partner at the knee as she sprawled, twisted at the hips. Her mouth parted, releasing a small sound followed by a yawn and the stirring of her form. "It's too early..." she complained as she curled herself into a tight ball of silk and flesh and struggled to find her slumber amidst the break of day. "Korra, tell the sun it needs another hour of sleep..." The fox merely blinked back a response and curled against her back. Its head lifted in alert, Korra sat a silent sentinel.
A huff of air escaped her lips. This wouldn't work. The angle of the sun was set at so terrible of an angle as to creep across her skin and coax her from any form of sleeping. "I shall daydream then," she resolved, flopping over to her back and folding her arms behind her head. Her lip curled into a smirk of defiance as she protested the intruding beams of light, but try as she might the sun was only a minor issue. No sooner than she had gotten settled than the birds began a mighty chorus of morning worship towards the earth that so sparkled with the morning dew. This would never work. Not at this rate.
Defeated, she sighed once more and threw her arms wide about her. She was posed as one would should they create a snow angel save for the lack of snow. "A grass angel perhaps..." she thought this time as her fingers ran over the soft wood of her lyre. With the instrument so close, she set her fingertips against the nimble strings and struck a chord. "Look, Korra. If the birds wish to sing then so shall I." She rolled onto her stomach to better face her lyre. Lifting her her elbows she brushed a stray wisp of hair from her eyes and set herself to focus on the music.
"When morning birds doth tweet their twitter They bid my humble heart a flitter From here to there And there to here It's morning now for everywhere."
She paused suddenly, looking back to stare at the fox who had taken care to cover its ears. "Oh please. I made it up on the spot. Of course it's horrible." With a frown she moved to sit up. Her legs swung around in front of her and she played a few more notes of a merry little tune before giving up entirely. "I think, for once, I might be tired of music." Cross-legged, she threw her torso backwards so she was once more upon the grass. The position hurt and she soon found herself twisting out of it. Blonde bangs fell across her eyes once more and she blew them away, pressing both palms upon the ground before she hoisted herself up to stand.
"Korra?" she asked, curling her finger about her lip as soon as the question formed. "What other talents might I learn in town?" She pondered for a moment as stood. "Something useful maybe?" Shifting her weight, she lowered her hand and lifted the other to take its place. "Something heroic?" A pause as she drifted in though. "Something any lady would love to learn?" She giggled at that and moved to sit back upon the grass. Her fingers lowered to catch upon the fur on Korra's head. "I think it's time to return," she decided, her face set and ready to go. "But first!" she started, "We should see about finding some breakfast, yes?"
With a nod in response, Laike collected her lyre and the two of them set out for a tasty snack.
