I haven't been on 1.0 for some but noticed different pattersn of stamina usage by different players (nobody is cheating, just patterns) :

1. Wiley when playing serious seems to always press shift and is moving at incredible speed all the time. It is as if he never runs out of full stamina at any given moment. That is smart art

2. DivisaOs: never uses stamina, almost always axis, and his moves are graceful taking him exactly where he wants to go. very good shooter and a smart player

3. Fon222222: Almost always uses stamina only at the RR backstairway when he has docs on him...he just rushes through the steps. Otherwise, he doesn't use stamina at all.

All these players are good shooters and they rely mainly on their accurate aim. Some other players like DanishDK and Foxtrot use stamina in certain situations only.

5. Sandokan on any team is totally unpredictable when it comes to stamina...sometimes he uses it when making certain jumps on allies side, but when axis, he makes sure he always has full stamina on any stairway.

6. Hull and Inf: I guess it depends on their moods...hahaha

7. Groffy and Greeni? That is another chapter in the book of RTCW smile.gif

All these players don't TJ....Best TJ who use stamina very effectively were Sorter, Juncie, L0, Reflex and his other friends. Homie is a legend, ofc.

hahahah@lah. very interesting post pinky i would agree with most of that i would personally rate (east) Hull as being one of the top stamina players ,my own technique for stamina usage is using as little stamina as possible on the way to the warroom ie jumping over the trenches and back stairway and conserving stamina until im sprinting to the radio room, that worked a little too well and became boring for me so i tend to wait now and duke it out with any axis defending the objective

Wiley you are very fast. Once I was starting with you from the same place on the axis upper base. I wanted to see how fast you really can go and guess what? You brought tears to me eyes. I pressed shift all the way and in just five 10 secs I was just down the back stairway and you were about to enter the WR...see the huge difference? I guess a big part of your legendary speed even without stamina is you always run the shortest possible way between A and B, never press a single key a femtosecond more than it has to be pressed, and you always cut corners in the shortest possible route. That is talent!

Hull? To me he sometimes uses stamina perfectly, and some times he's as moody as hell....but he's a remarkable stamina user who usually doesn't give a rat's ass about stamina. smile.gif

interesting topic.

When i still played on beach server, I always had certain patterns in which I used sprint. Mainly I'd save stamina when i can do a certain jump pattern which requires half-full stamina.

example: The allies fb jump when allies have flag. I spawn at flag & I'd jump from outside fb on trenches then jump on that first net to prepare for a big strafejump to the other net which i hit just at the end so when I hit it i immediatly fall like 10cm on the ground of top of trenches which allows me to jump again so i gain even more speed & already am at the stairs or ladder towards upper base.
That way I would be double as quick than just running without strafejump below of the trenches which is also a irritating place to shoot from.

example2: when i spawn as axis & i want to go to long (upper base) I wouldn't take the metal with the railing thing. I'd just jump on that first small "/" curve and then land on the end of the metal railing thing already.

Actually, I have soooo many of these little things that i can't even remember them all cause they come so naturally to me.

+ for docruns, they can save the game this way. I've been in many situations where being 1-3 seconds faster thanks to strafejumping that would either win me the game or secure the docs back. (especially on mp_ice & frostbite on osp, not that much influence on mp_beach cause it's mainly indoors)

The things I see you guys do on Ice always amazes me. I try to do those things, but I'm no comparison. Especially that jump over the wall from right to left. Maybe I need to practice more. blushing.gif
