Oh who would ever want to be king?

It is currently Fall 2011.

The Sulgrave family has been the ruling power of Britain for nearly three hundred and twenty five years.

Things have changed since then, yet if you're talking of government, in only minor ways. What was once an absolute monarchy is in name only a constitutional monarchy, but those constitutional parameters range far and wide. There's a Prime Minister, there's a Parliament, but they are not effectively in power. The king holds the country in his hands...but he wants nothing to do with the power he holds. Who knows how long the arrangement will last. Other families are jockeying for power, along with those in the government that barely functions at all. They all have their reasons--personal or not--to want the system overthrown. But will it happen?

There was nothing as awesome as tearing along the M3 in an Aston Martin V12 Zagato, with a gorgeous blonde at your side. That was the current situation Will found himself in. He had been working like crazy lately, and he felt a little guilty for neglecting Adele so much. He had barely seen her in the past couple days. It just wouldn’t do. The Royal Ascot was next weekend, and since he had to work, he wanted to treat Adele to a weekend away. Just the two of them. It was hard trying to keep their relationship a secret. Sure, it was only a ten minute walk between their houses, but considering who they were, it wasn’t always that easy. After all, there were only so many times he could visit the Museum before it got a little suspicious. So he had organised for his siblings to clear out of the big house, and take Adele away for a romantic weekend. See? He could play the devoted boyfriend roll, even with a severe case of blue balls.

So at seven o’clock on Friday evening, he had rolled up to Adele’s house in his brand spanking new Aston Martin (yes, they weren’t officially even in production yet, but he had his connections), ready to whisk his lovely girlfriend away for a quiet weekend at his childhood home. He had cut the household staff back to a minimum, giving everyone else the weekend off. He wanted to create a wonderfully relaxing feeling of solitude. As he got off the M3 and onto the A322, he looked across to Adele, grinning as he gave her leg a quick squeeze. This was always his favourite leg of the journey home. After miles and miles of highway, finally the end was in sight. Just two and a half miles, and he would be back on the outskirts of Windlesham, Surrey, driving into the ridiculously pretentious estate that Will had called home for eighteen years. Fifty eight acres of pretentiousness. What did you do with twenty four bedrooms? Sure, only thirteen of those were in the main house, but still. The one saving grace of the property was that it didn’t have some huge driveway. There was nothing worse than driving an hour to get home, and half an hour of that was just driving up the driveway. Okay, that was a little much, but still. You got the idea.

He fished the remote for the garage out of his ashtray, and pulled the car into his favourite parking spot. You could tell that the house was completely void of guests and the only people were employees. Their cars gave them away. Sensible cars. Not at all like Will’s Zagato. He didn’t think anyone would describe his car as sensible. But that was exactly why he had it. He was a young guy, he wanted a sexy car. Will jumped out and raced around to the other side to open Adele’s door for her before she could. He wasn’t going to bother with getting their things out of the car, but the minute he stood, all he wanted to do was go relax in one of the Jacuzzis. Well, his first thought had been a long, relaxing bath, but since he didn’t think Adele would go for a bath with him, keeping it ‘innocent’ in the Jacuzzi was the next best thing. The only question was, which Jacuzzi?

That was the problem with a gigantic house like this. There were just too many options. He decided on practically, and ease of access. Sure, if they’d been staying the second floor, the Infinity pool would have been ideal. But Will had instructed the rooms on the first floor be made up. That way, Adele could have her pick from eight different rooms. He was definitely aiming to please this weekend. So for that very reason, he chose the western indoor pool. Apart from the fact that its mosaic design was absolutely stunning and he was positive Adele would love it, it was also a lot easier to locate than the eastern pool. Thank god for lifts, that’s all he would say on the subject. With any luck, Adele would be able to find her way to the pool without getting herself too lost. It seemed like a rather big ask, but he was sure she would manage. And if she did get lost, he had his most loyal employees on standby to collect her from wherever she wound up. Yes, Will had already realised that having contingency plans was an essential part of dating Adele Pennington, but then again, he wasn’t complaining. It was actually pretty fun.

“So, this is...well, the basement,” he said, leading her out of the garage, to the closest lift. “I’ll give you a proper tour tomorrow. Right now, all I want to do is go jump in the pool. You up for it?” he asked, grinning down at her. He didn’t even imagine for a moment that she might say no. Things like that just didn’t seem to occur to Will. They took the lift to the second floor, and stepped out onto the landing. “Okay, so there are eight suites on this floor. I wasn’t sure which one you’d like best, so I figured I’d just let you choose. But I’d recommend either this one right here,” he said, pointing to a door almost opposite the lift, “or the one right at the end of the eastern wing on the right. But anyway, pick one, and then chuck on your swimmers, and come meet me at the western pool. All you have to do, is take the lift down one level, turn right, and follow the hallway all the way to the end. Got it?” He grinned at her again, and satisfied that she was going to be fine, ducked to give her a quick kiss, and got back into the lift. Now he just had to finish the preparations.

What a whirlwind romance all of this had been! She had into some old acquaintance in Paris, they had kissed during the fireworks and now they were together. Like, girlfriend, boyfriend together. All while managing to keep it away from the presses prying eyes—which was quite an impressive feat. A feat made easier by the fact that they lived to close to each and by the fact that the two of them tried to live as normal a lives as possible. The whirlwind, however, had slowed down just a bit this past week what with his busy work schedule, but it had also given her some much needed time to breathe. She baked, she worked, she took Jupiter out for long walks in Hyde Park and tried to enjoyed the break away from William as best she could. Which was harder than she thought it would be considering she was getting quite used to him. And she liked him. Rather a lot, really. More than she thought she could in such a short amount of time really.

But truth be told, the physical chemistry she felt with him made it all that much easier. It was practically instantaneous. She had felt it sitting across from him at a table in the little café and even more so as the day had progressed. It helped that the man was attractive in an unearthly sort of way. Next to him, she felt small, tiny and mortal. In fact, she was reminded of him at work whenever she passed a particular statue of Dionysus, which had come from the Parthenon. Well, with arms and feet of course. She hadn’t been kidding when she referred to him as Hercules the day they re-met. So feeling safe and feeling secure around him seemed very natural. He could wrap her up in his arms and nearly disappear. Adele loved the feeling. Truly, she couldn’t get enough of it. Which is why she was eager to escape with William to the country for a weekend.

But with the anticipation, came a sense of apprehension. Was he expecting something more than…well, the very little they had done up until this point? She wasn’t sure if she was ready. Adele wanted to be ready, but it had only been a month. She didn’t want to rush it. She had always felt like whenever these things were supposed to happen, they did. Like when Hugh kissed her. That had been magical. That was the way things were supposed to happen. Adele looked out the window, as they sped through the countryside, the momentary thought of Hugh passing like the trees on the side of the road. Hopefully, hopefully this weekend would allow her the chance to be a little bit more… exploratory when it came to… those sorts of things. But really, she knew herself well enough to know that she wouldn’t know what she would do until the moment came.

William’s hand rested on her leg and she looked over to him with a smile. And then was immediately pulled against the car a bit by the gravity of the turn in the road. Because he was going a little faster than she would have preferred. But she always found it rather difficult to nag him about such things. In fact, his edginess was part of the attraction. If it had been Alex, oh, she would have been all over him for taking a turn at that speed. But not William. She liked that he drove a ridiculous car, liked that he was willing to have fun with it. Even at the expense of her sanity sometimes. Who could say no to those fantastic blue eyes and that smile?

Finally, finally they were there… The house was quite lovely. Very modern. Though really, in comparison to the castle she grew up in… what wasn’t? But his house was humongous. It was just different than everything she was used to. She never felt like her home was a show of their wealth—but instead of their history. This house was quite different than that, but it was impressive nevertheless. Adele looked over to him with her typical, bright smile. ”Yeah, of course. Sounds great.” Next came his directions which sounded……daunting, to say the least. Really daunting, actually. Then he asked her. Got it? Adele nearly wanted to laugh. ”I…think so. That’s a lot of faith in my sense of direction.” She laughed a bit and kissed him, hardly able to hold back a smile. ”I’ll see you in a bit.”

She wandered the large hallway of monstrosity before finally settling on a room, which was just as beautiful as the rest of the house. But then she realized… She had to change into her bikini. Normally, Adele wore conservative bathing suits. Or at least bathing suits that she felt more comfortable in. This, however, was not Adele’s typical swimming suit. She had bought it specifically for this. And yet, when she went to put it on… She felt totally naked. And so. Very. Exposed. What had she been thinking? But there was no turning back now. She couldn’t very well go to the pool in the same clothes she had been wearing. So instead, she looked around for anything to put on over it. Then she found it. A nice big, fluffy white terry cloth robe. Smiling, she put it on and headed out—trying to recall the directions to the pool.

One elevator trip and two wrong turns later, she was desperate to find someone…anyone to save her from herself. And then she spotted a nice, older woman who was kind enough to set her on the right path again. Gosh, that was embarrassing. Finally, she entered the pool room and was nearly caught off guard by how beautiful it was. It reminded her of a Roman bath, but without the tarnish and dankness of hundreds of years. It was truly gorgeous. Then she saw William. Who was completely distracting from the rest of the room. Gosh, he really was built like Hercules…wasn’t he? Moving towards the hot tub, she fidgeted with the belt that held her robe together, then tucked her hair behind her ear nervously. “Not that this will shock you…” She said, trying to distract herself as she finally managed to untie her robe and let it drop to the floor. As if it was completely normal. As. If. She was blushing. And badly. ”But I got lost…” Then she stepped down into the water, really taken aback by how handsome he looked. “It was completely embarrassing. Some nice lady came and saved me though…” Then she sat down on one of the steps, actually managing to relax a bit—as evidenced by her eyes closing for a bit. ”This is really quite nice…and it’s nice to be alone. Just you
and me, you know?”

The second Will left Adele, his head was full of all the things he had to do to arrange this lovely little evening picnic. Okay, there wasn’t that much to do, but he wasn’t sure how long it was going to take her to get ready, and he wanted everything done by the time she got to the pool. He was counting on her getting lost though, so he was buggered if she actually managed to find her way to the right pool. His first stop was the wine cellar, but as he stepped out of the lift, he ran into the Head of the Household, Alfred. Yes, Alfred was about ninety years old, looked like Batman’s butler, and spoke like him too, but he was still the best HoH this side of London. “Master William, just the person I was looking for,” Alfred said pleasantly, guiding Will back into the lift. “But-“ Will began to protest, stopping as Alfred began shaking his head. “I’ve prepared a selection of entrees for you and the young lady. I also took the liberty of bringing up a selection of wines from the cellar for your perusal.” Will had given up on ever getting the old man to stop calling him Master, so he didn’t even bother mentioning it at all, simply breaking into a wide grin as Alfred revealed that he had done all the hard work for Will. All he had to do was reap the rewards. Whatever Adele decided to throw his way. “Thanks Alfred, what would I do without you?” Will said, stepping out of the lift, not even noticing that the old man did not follow him.

Will hadn’t exactly planned on having a swim when they arrived at the house, but it didn’t much matter. There were always boardies stashed in the dressing room. Just as there were always swimmers stashed in the girl’s dressing room for visitors. He’d thought of offering them to Adele, but he assumed she would have brought some, and he hoped like hell that they were far sexier than the generic one-pieces that were on offer in the dressing room. He stopped by the kitchen to pick up the food and wine, pleased to find it all set out on a trolley for him. He opened the fridge to find quite the selection of wines stacked in there. Crafty old bugger. Alfred knew all too well Will’s ways of wooing women, but then again, this was a normal woman, and most of the wooing had been done. There was just that last hurdle to get over, and Will really didn’t think he was going to get there this weekend. It was disappointing, but not devastating. Sure, she hadn’t actually come out and said it, but it was pretty obvious that Adele was still a virgin. Part of him wondered how a gorgeous girl like her could have held onto it for so long, part of him wondered if she was saving it for marriage, and part of him was just lamenting over the fact that it probably meant that despite this awesome weekend he’d prepared for her, he still wasn’t going to get laid.

It was surprisingly how little he cared about that last part though. Just a year or two ago, it would have been unfathomable. The idea of a girl not putting out. He wouldn’t have considered even taking her home. Obviously. But then again, he’d never really dated before, so the rules were a little different. And he had to admit, it was quite nice just being able to hang out with her, without sex getting in the way. Not that he wouldn’t mind having sex get in the way, especially with Adele, but he was okay for the minute. Will picked a wine (the least alcoholic of the ones on display) and pushed the trolley out of the kitchen, down the hallway, and into the pool area. Leaving the trolley beside the Jacuzzi, he made his way to the male dressing room to get changed. Rather than walking all the way back around to jump into the Jacuzzi, Will just jumped the railing and dove straight into the pool, and swam his way over to the Jacuzzi.

He poured them a glass of wine each, and set out the food, before stretching out to relax until Adele turned up. It occurred to him quite quickly that he may have overestimated her sense of direction when she still hadn’t turned up ten minutes later. He was about to get out and go looking for her when she made her way into the Western Pool Room. Only Adele would have been able to find the robe to hide herself until she got to the pool room. Any other girl he brought here (and the list was surprisingly quite small) had been more than happy to parade around in her bikini. But not Adele. He grinned as she spotted him lounging in the Jacuzzi and came over. She was so adorable, fidgeting with the robe belt, looking absolutely petrified at the prospect of jumping into the Jacuzzi with him. Or maybe it was more the fact that she was going to have to take off that robe to get in. He suddenly wondered what sort of swimsuit she had on underneath that thing. And then she dropped the robe, and Will’s eyes almost bulged out of his head in total shock. He had been expecting some conservative one piece, but definitely not this absolutely mouth watering sight in front of him.

Will had to look away. He was positive he was going to embarrass her if he continued staring at her like that. But her comment about getting lost brought his attention back to her, and he couldn’t help but laugh. “I wondered where you’d gotten to. Glad to hear that the help is so...helpful,” he finished, snorting at how pathetic it sounded. It was ridiculous how much he wanted to just absolutely corrupt her right now, but he would restrain himself. He would let her come to him. If he could wait that long. After all, the food was on his side. She was going to have to come closer if she wanted some. Until then, he was more than happy to just sink down in the water, arms spread out either side on him on the edge of the Jacuzzi, and chill out. “It is. I’ve really missed you these past couple days, so it’s awesome that we got the chance to do this. Especially considering how busy the next few weeks are going to be. I’m barely going to see you at all. I feel like I’m the definition of a bad boyfriend.” He couldn’t believe it, but he was almost pouting as he said it. Damn his work actually getting in the way of his relationship. Sure, he had always blamed work on why he hadn’t been able to see girls, but it had never been true. Until now.

It was just a bikini. And it was just Will. So why she was so frightfully nervous, she wasn't sure. Possibly because it was just the way he looked at her-- she'd never felt more attractive, but at the same time she nearly felt like a sex object. Which made her wonder where this whole weekend was going to end up. Which is what made her nervous. Maybe she was broken. Maybe there was something wrong with her...because who wouldn't want to sleep with William Scott-Ellis. He was quite literally one of the most good looking, most eligible bachelor's in England, after all. How stupid would people think she was for not taking advantage of having him half-naked and in a hot tub.

All of this was just a reminder of how bad she was at all of it. It was what she was thinking about as she looked over his shoulder at the fabulous spread of food and the lovely wine. Now that was distracting enough to stop her thoughts-- which was a much needed relief. Of course, she was going to have to wade over to him to get it. The thing was, it was not always easy being with William because she was human. Because there was a part of her that said she just should have sex with him and not worry about it. Because the way he kissed her and wrapped his arms around her just made her feel so fantastic.

Her eyes looked back over to his and she smiled when he said he missed her. That was what convinced her to walk across to his side of the hot tub and sit next to him, pulling up a knee to rest her chin on it. "Definition of a bad boyfriend?" She said, laughing a bit as she reached over to pull a grape off it's bunch. "It's a good thing you're so cute, hm?" She popped the grape into her mouth with a playful smile and eating it. "I guess that's what happens when your boyfriends just so important," she teased him a bit, feeling more confident about doing those sorts of things now that she had met him.

That was one of the good things about William though. She'd become a little more confident and a little more playful--and she was actually learning to enjoy it. Although she wasn't quite sure she was able to sleep with him...at least not yet... A part of her was growing up and she was slowly finding out that it was definitely a good thing for her. Not to mention the fact that William was as patient as he was with her had helped her immeasurably. Even though it had only been a month, she had to laugh at herself with some of the things she had done the first day. The fact that he wanted to date her after that was still pretty amusing. But still, not everything had changed. She still felt really naked, sitting next to him, eating grapes and giving him a bad time.

writer's note: So this is embarrassingly short, but.. the less Adele is THINKING the better. Trust me Will. XD Plus this writer wants to get to the good stuff. >.<

It was ridiculous how much Will had changed in the short month that he had been with Adele. He had never felt this way about a girl before, of that he was certain. It had always been purely physical with the girls that he ‘dated’. Well, maybe not Elizabeth, but he’d never actually ‘dated’ her. They’d just had a lot of sex. He wouldn’t even begin to remember about all the places in this house that they’d shagged, because, well, they’d done it everywhere. He was pretty certain that they’d shagged in the very spot where he and Adele were sitting, but he was just going to push that to the back of his mind because the last thing he needed to be thinking about while he was enjoying a nice evening with his girlfriend was about just Elizabeth Grey had fucked his brains out in practically every room in this house. No, these days, Will was a completely different guy. He would have never lasted this long without sex with another girl. He would have sought gratification for elsewhere. But for some odd reason, he just didn’t feel the need to with Adele. Even though he wasn’t getting any, she was more than enough.

Will let his arm drop to rest lightly on Adele’s back, his fingers running up and down her spine slowly. So much for trying to keep his hands off her. He just couldn’t help himself. He would blame it on Adele. She was just irresistible. If she had stayed on the other side of the Jacuzzi, he would have been fine. But the second she had stood up to wade over to him, his resolve had melted. It was just too hard to be this close to her, and not be touching her. “Cute?” he asked, raising an amused eyebrow. “I don’t know whether to be pleased or offended. No one has called me cute since I was back at Eton.” It was a little like Will using the word ‘sexy’ to describe Adele. He got the distinct feeling that no one had ever called her sexy, but then again, he also didn’t think that she’d ever thought of herself as sexy, and so had never really tried to be. Not that she was trying now. But she sure as hell would be classed as succeeding if she was.

“Well, it’s unacceptable. Even the most important man in the world needs to have time to hang out with his special lady friend,” he said, reaching over to the fruit platter to grab a orange segment off the plate, and pop it in his mouth, grinning as he sucked the fresh and juice off the rind of the orange. He’d had to twist around rather awkwardly, because he would rather do that, than use the hand that was still occupied slowly tracing the bumps of Adele’s vertebrae. But unfortunately, the need for champagne was momentarily more important, so he moved his hand away so he could pour them each a glass of wine, and once that task was done, his arm was immediately back where it had been. The only difference was now he had a champagne flute in his other hand. “Champagne?” he asked, a little too innocently.

Sure, even Adele wasn’t naive enough to think that the alcohol was just a nice way to cap off the evening. But nor was he using it purely to loosen her up a bit, and see how far he could get. He wasn’t going to pressure Adele into doing anything she didn’t want to. But on the other hand, he wasn’t going to say no if she made the first move.

The whole point of this weekend was to relax and enjoy each other’s company. Which is what she tried to focus on as she settled in next to William. Adele had just to forget the fact that she was in one of the skimpiest bathing suits ever and remember why she was here. It was hard to forget, sitting in such close proximity to her good looking boyfriend. Especially when his fingers trailed across her back like that. It was a nearly meltworthy moment. The problem with such a moment with Adele, was that it made it hard to speak. She feared that the next words out of her mouth would just be some mishmash of ‘ums’ and ‘uhs.’ Luckily for her though, he had something that had made her laugh a little bit. No one called him cute since Eton? That was just strange to her. Most guys in her mind were cute. Hot, sexy—those sorts of words rarely entered into her vocabulary. So the idea that he was offended, even in a mock fashion, was a little bit amusing to her. ”Really? I guess I just see something in you that most people don’t” Adele replied inquisitorially with a bit of a surprised shrug.

” And lady friend? I don’t think anyone has ever called me that.” Adele laughed a bit, using the turn of phrase on him quite successfully. For which she rewarded herself with a grape. ”But I guess I’ll live with it.” Another cute shrug accompanied her words. A shrug she meant nothing by of course. It was simply something she just did. And managed to look cute while doing it too. Though she had to admit, the choice of words was a bit worrisome. Wasn’t a lady friend what you called a girl who was everything but your girlfriend? Surely, surely he had meant nothing by it. Adele was left to rely on his goodness again, just to get past the moment. Really, William had been nothing but the shining perfection of a boyfriend—except for the workaholic park. Running a company, though, was one of the things that she found attractive about him. So she let that slide. ”And um sure, some champagne would be great.” It was pretty much the only alcohol she did drink. White wine or a girly fruit drink if she was feeling particularly adventurous. But champagne suited her just well for now.

Adele scooted close to him, without much realizing it—and she only made aware of it when she realized that their thighs were touching. It was too late to back away now, so instead she just tried to settle there and be content and happy. She popped another grape in her mouth and just dwelled on how good looking he was. Really, it was quite ridiculous just how good looking her was. The guy was pretty lucky he was, since it had nearly instantly made her forgive the multitudes of sins that followed around him in the rumor mill. But she wasn't thinking about those things anymore. Instead, she tried to focus on everything around her.

When her champagne glass was poured, she took a nice long sip, brushing the wisps of her hair away from her face as she did so. Then her free hand reached down and slid lightly from his thigh to his knee, resting there as she smiled over to him. Adele leaned over, keeping her glass out of the way and laid a gentle kiss on his lips—pulling away without lingering too long, the smile on her lips apparent. ”Thank you for this weekend. I really think we both needed it, you know?” Another sip of champagne and another grape later, she spoke up again to comment on their surroundings. “It’s amazing to think the Romans mastered this jaccuzzi concept long, long before electricity existed “ Adele was being such a nerd and she didn’t even realize it. But she couldn’t help it… the mosaics made her think of Rome and the warm, bubbling water of the ancient traditional bath houses they were so well known for.

She saw something in him that most people didn’t? Will had no idea what to make of that. Was it a compliment? He was pretty sure it was. But he had no idea what it was that she saw, that made her use the word ‘cute’. He almost shuddered at the memory of it. Yes, it was more than acceptable, coming from Adele, but still. She could have used handsome, or dashing. Cute made him feel like a twelve year old. And twelve year olds definitely shouldn’t be having the thoughts he was entertaining presently. “And what would that be? A sense of moral obligation? The ability to enjoy myself with my clothes on?” He couldn’t help but smirk, even though he was sure she wouldn’t exactly like what he’d said. “But seriously. The thing you see that other people don’t, is you. You make me a better person without even trying. That’s pretty impressive.”

Will shook his head, snorting a little. “No, no, I didn’t mean you. I’m certainly not the most important man in the world, and you’re far too important to me to be called something as trivial as a ‘lady friend’.” He wasn’t fooled for a second by her nonchalant look. A girl like Adele didn’t take being called a ‘lady friend’ lightly. Even if he hadn’t actually called her that. He just hoped that she actually believed him. He wasn’t used to talking like this, and he was a little worried that it was coming off a little insincere. He’d never been one to pour out his feelings to women, which made these rather candid remarks all the more important to him. But she wouldn’t know that. She hadn’t known the guy he’d been. In passing maybe, but not enough to really understand how much he’d changed since he’d starting seeing her.

She shifted closer to him, and suddenly, her thigh was sliding against his. He wasn’t going to catch a break, was he? Here he was, truly to have a nice time with her, and prove that he could spend some quality time with her, without trying to get her clothes off (what little she actually had on), and all she seemed to want to do was prove him wrong. And the worst thing was that he was certain she wasn’t even aware that she was doing it! He just couldn’t imagine that she had no idea though, the way she slid her hand down his leg before leaning over to kiss him lightly. The pleasure on her face was always so radiant after a kiss, and he couldn’t help but return it.

“You’re welcome. I’m glad we found some time to get away. It’s so nice to just come hide out here and slow down, even if it’s only for the weekend.” That was the one thing he hated about London. It was so fast paced, he felt like he barely had time to breathe. Here, everything was so much more relaxed. It was like time stood still. And he was quite enjoying just relaxing in the hot tub, fingers still tracing slowly up and down Adele’s back, his head thrown back, gazing up at the ceiling, sipping on his champagne. At least until Adele broke the silence to gush over the ingenuity of the ancient Romans. His face broke out into a huge grin in an instant, and the hand that had been on her back, moved lower to pull her closer, as he leant in to kiss her. It was nothing like the soft, sweet kisses that they’d shared so far today. It was harder, rougher, and spoke volumes on how he felt about her right now.

Will was actually a little worried that he might scare her off with his intensity, being so close, with so little clothing between them. It was definitely a first. He broke off the kiss, and then kissed her again softly, before pulling back, pulling her with him. It was just too awkward trying to twist himself around to kiss her. Everything would be much easier if she was just sitting happily in his lap. Of course, he wasn’t pulling her hard enough that she was going to be forced into his lap if she didn’t want to. He was ready to let go the moment he felt resistance from her. “Did they really build Jacuzzis first? That’s pretty smart of them,” he commented. He loved that she knew things like that.

"Do I?" She said rhetorically. It didn't need a response, but it actually wasn't all that surprising to hear. It was the sort of thing people said to her all the time. And sometimes, she was quite sure it was why people sometimes grew tired and annoyed with her. Because not everyone found the fun in life that she did, simply by being as good as she knew how to be. Adele was a bit surprised, however, that he had seemed vaguely offended by the idea of him calling her cute. Adele wasn't the sort to use any other word then that. Well, out loud anyway. Of course she thought him handsome, attractive and, well, hot. But she wouldn't ever say it out loud. It should have been pretty apparent by the way she had swooned over him that first time in Paris. And at Disneyland. Oh well, it was a trifling thing and she wasn't going to let it ruin the day. After all, she was sitting in a magnificent house, with her cute boyfriend.

When he finally admitted that she was too important to be a 'lady friend', she smiled over to him with a bit of playfulness. "Good. That's settled then." That was the one thing about William she did truly like. She brought out a cheeky side to her that she had never been as comfortable with before him. Adele just figured she was never the sort of girl who could get away with it, but he instilled a confidence in her that she was sure was going to stick around. And right now, he was definitely getting to see that side of her. "You deserve better than a 'lady friend' anyhow." She said with her bright cheery smile.

She moved closer to him and couldn't help but kiss him. Kissing him was rather delightful and what girl wouldn't enjoy kissing the bloke sitting beside her? He was like something out of a movie. Good looking, wealthy, edgy. The bad boy that all the good girl's hated to love. But did anyway. William was proving day by day, however, that he was definitely a changed sort of man. That look in his eyes, however, definitely said more... Half of her was curious... She had to admit to herself. But in typical Adele fashion, she was distracted by her beautiful surroundings and the Romans...

Suddenly, her inner-curious side came back in full force as William leaned down and kissed her. And not like any simple sort of kiss. A real kiss. One that couldn't be doubted. It had caught her slightly off guard, simply because she had been so distracted... But without much of a delay she found herself kissing him back, equally as passionately as he. He broke the kiss off first, then kissed her a bit more softly-- a kiss she felt herself smiling a bit into. And the next thing she knew, William was coaxing her into his lap. Not forcefully or anything like that... but more of a progression as to where things were going. Which made Adele wonder.... Just where was this going?? But she was content in his lap, sitting slightly perpendicular to him, but close enough that a simple turn of her head made it easy to kiss her.

Adele nodded in response. "Mmhmm. But... women and men weren't allowed to bath together... So... in Roman times we'd be creating quite the scandal..." She said with a hint of playfulness. "Something tells me that you don't mind...." Why she leaned in next and stole a lingering kiss from him, she didn't know. Adele was just trying not to think about everything too much. Something she was very prone to do... But William made her a little more comfortable than your average person. Which is why she leaned in for another kiss. This one much more like the one he had laid on her before she had happened upon his lap. Perhaps.... even a bit longer.
