In short, Ríocht is a fantasy roleplay based in a medieval realm where the story revolves around the castle and ultimately the royal family, as all changes with them will have an effect on the rest of the kingdom. You get to decide if your character will remain in support of the queen or choose to support the prince in secret instead. However, if you so desire, your character can have nothing to do with the royal family and can just exist within the city walls - it's entirely up to you!

We highly encourage subplots and believe that every plot should be ever-evolving based on the growth of the site itself and its members. We consider all things up for discussion!

As you can see, we're based mostly on character interaction and while we most certainly encourage serious situations to be roleplayed, we don't take ourselves too seriously. (There's an army of undead on the rise and the knights ride unicorns rather than horses, after all.)

We are not a war-based rpg and although we are not opposed to such action being included by our members, it is not the purpose of our site.

The land of Raguinia is predominantly populated by elves. Magic is rare, feared and in most places, outlawed. Humans are completely extinct and creatures like vampires and werewolves are the types of beasts that knights kill, rather than being playable characters.

There are several different races of elves in the world, but you must choose from the races and kingdoms (and the way that we have described them) that we have outlined for you. Your chance of convincing us to include a different race, species or new kingdom is very slim, though we will not turn a serious request down without hearing it out first!

So hopefully after reading the plot and even being told that you can't make a magical vampire wookie that can turn into an ice sculpture with laser eyes, you'll still be wanting to join us. But before that, you'll want to read the rules! Not to worry, they're pretty standard rules that should be easy enough to follow.

Still with us? Awesome. Now you should have a look at the canon characters that are available and our character application process. Whether you choose to play a canon character or an original character is completely up to you. If you do choose to play an original character, you'll want to check out the face claim to be sure that your desired playby is still open and reserve them if so!

You'll also want to know which usergroup you belong in and an explanation of those, which may also give you a bit of inspiration on what type of original character to make.

We think our application is pretty simple, although we do appreciate when people put a little extra effort into their character creation. Mainly we just want to be sure that you understand the rules and how to fit your character into our world, so don't stress over it too much. We know and encourage that characters grow and change as they're integrated into the rp world.
As such, you might want to also check out our previously accepted characters to see who you're likely to be playing with!

Be sure that if you wish to play a canon character or use a specific playby that you reserve them immediately to avoid losing them! Canons and playbys are on a first come, first served basis!
