Got my PC is back - now BF1942 isn't working. : (

Hey,

Got my PC back, things are fine with everything but now when I start BF1942, my PC completely freezes. The first time I played it, I was able to play it for about 5 minutes and then if froze. After that, it was maybe a minute at the very most.

I went into the bios and disabled fast write, so the game worked fine for about 2 minutes, then all of the colors changed - my weapon was multicolored, and the sky was completely grayish white along with the water. The ground seemed fine, but the recticle couldn't be seen, and when I would approach certain objects, they would change color to a solid one - the APC was a violet color and a bunker was blue. I have Uniblue to keep my drivers updated, and I ran that before to get the latest driver. When I updated it though, I had the same one already.

This did happen periodically in the past (the game graphics going screwy) but that was really infrequent. My PC would freeze every once in a while, but usually after me playing for 10-15 minutes. One of my PC fans has been inoperable for a few years now. Could that be it, or should I search for different drivers for my vid card? I don't think it's that, but I'm at a loss as to where to go. I have an ancient card - Ti 4200 - NVidia based card, and it's in an AGP slot.

Any suggestions? I did a screenshot and I have it in Paint, but how do I post it so it can be seen here?

Hey,

I'm going to be getting another vid card compatible with my MoBo. I hope it works and solves my problems with my PC. I've tried different things and nothing really works. I should be ordering it next week sometime. Wish me luck. Until then, I can't do squat with it.

Sorry about being absent lately, it's just extremely frustrating to not have an answer to a problem that's been perplexing me for quite a while now. I really haven't even gotten on the PC because of the problem with 42.

Sorry I haven't been on lately. My PC is still messed up - now I'm getting an error when I try to get online, so I can't even do that anymore from home. I tried to do some research on it, but I've just about given up.

I tried those drivers Shadowen, thanks for the link. For some reason, it gives me an error when I try logging on it has to do with the dynamic link library. I'll try to get it and post it here. I'm going to have to bring it someplace though to get it fixed (again).

It's been like 3 months and money unfortunately (or lack thereof) is an issue at this time.

I'm on line from work, but there is a ton of work to do and I can't really go online (here) since they have been checking the reports more thoroughly lately. I'm surprised they haven't banned this site yet - since it's a gaming site.

Anyway, Happy belated holidays to you all. Wish I could at least go online at home to play some poker, but again, I can't even do that. Hopefully, I'll get some extra funds available to fix the PC I have or get a new one.

Sorry I haven't been online lately - unfortunately, I think it'll be like this for a little while longer.

I'm here! Sorry for the long absences. I basically am waiting for my tax refund so I can get another PC. It's so sporadic and I will get the internet (but can't play games) then lose it.

On the plus side, I have Xbox Live now - so I know the PC is the culprit for why the internet isn't working. It's not on the provider side. Anyway, my XBox Live name is Leatherneck115. Look me up - I'll usually play Halo 3 or COD World at War. Anyone else play on Live?

I can't wait for the money though. I miss you guys - hopping on and kickin some booty. Hopefully, I'll be getting it in about 5 weeks. Then it'll be a new PC and then I should be up and running shortly after that.

I tried that, but it didn't work. I thought for a second that I forgot my pwd, but it's stating the username/email address wasn't found - but it's the same one I used for this page.
