It was quite obvious why she was here; any idiot could figure that out. This building, also known as the Zipper Factory, had actually been just that at the turn of the century, later bought by a bank during the Roaring 20's. However, it wasn't urban archeology that brought Agent Lucas to such a place just past midnight; it was rather the building's more recent history that interested her.
Despite her position with S7 as something akin to a glorified soldier, all agents were required to have skills in more than one area of discipline and she had a penchant for investigation anyways.
The entire property (almost a whole city block) had been fenced off with reinforced chainlink fences, boards, tarps, and barbed wire. There were multiple signs warning of high asbestos levels and biohazardous material beyond. In all honesty, she wasn't sure what she'd find here, and if asbestos was one of them (she didn't doubt it), then she would have to tread very lightly.
Lucas was really just hoping to find more clues about NBE-01. Sure. S7 had technically been studying the Decepticon Leader for decades now, but there was still so much more to learn... especially of his capabilities while out of stasis. There was only so much you could learn from a dead animal, right?
There was no security, just as she predicted. The warning signs kept most everyone out, and for good reason: mesothelioma was not something to be taken lightly.
Armed with only a maglite, compact Geiger-Mueller Detector, and a small handgun, Agent Lucas tread throughout the pitch black interior of the building with the utmost caution. She didn't want to disturb any dust without a mask on, not to mention disturb any minuscule traces of radiated material strewn about. Especially if that's what she was looking for. Like a trail of bread crumbs, Lucas was hoping that they would lead her somewhere.
