`main rules
oo1. sign up with a first middle and last name.
when signing up, remember to do so with a First name, a Middle Name and a Surname, each of which must begin with a capital letter. Of course, we aren't all perfect, so if you mess up. CALM DOWN. Just PM a staff member and they'll happily change it for you.
oo2. save your posting!
do not post ANYWHERE, other than for observational purposes, until your application has been accepted by a member of staff. if we are taking exceptionally long accepting your application, then I shall now apologies in advance. Simply PM one of us and we'll come running. We may just be a little busy or sidetracked, or in the midst of being enrolled into your local mental illness facility. So try not to bug us straight away. Else we may just break loose and gobble you up.
oo3. play nice.
in all aspects, whether they be in or out of character, be a nice person and be a little accepting. Now, I know for a fact that all you guys are amazing people, but just remember to be careful when it comes to the things you say to each other. All arguments or differences can be easily reconciled through communication. If not, and you feel as though your ready to set a few large dogs on each other, then things are a getting a little out of hand and this needs to become an admin situation. That has NEVER happened on one of my boards. And I doubt it ever shall. <3
oo4. keep up the roleplaying!
without a doubt, the most important thing on a roleplaying is the actual roleplaying. We all the love the little tiffy bits and fiddly faddly plots and games. Naturally. We're human beings *checks* and we love that crap. But remember the aim of the game. To have fun with roleplaying! stay active, stay involved, stay amazing.

`in character rules
oo1.post length
pride and promise is a literate roleplay, so we like to keep the actual roleplaying above two paragraphs/12 sentences. In other words, two moderate paragraphs is the general minimum we expect. Of course, we all have our off days so that isn't an imperial law. We don't enforce that. We just set it as a guide.
oo2. did you take English class??
nothing is worse than a post with more incorrectly spelled words than not. We like our posts readable. So, even if you are in a bit of a hurry and your typing like crazy, at least try and check it with Word or something. Or, if this helps, check your posts here. That way, no one is left feeling a little... incapable of replying. <3
oo3. life's a bitch. really.
the wizarding world is one dramatic place, as you'll know. But there's still some everyday business going on. Not everyone's an orphan. We're not all animagi. So, lets keep things real shall we? If we feel that your characters a little to eccentrically plotted, we'll tell you. We do like a little drama, so its all in the balance.
oo4. sex drugs rock and rictusempra.
pride and promise is a mature roleplay, aimed at those over thirteen years old. Some of the topics addressed by our members may not be suitable for a younger audience, such as violence, sex or illegal actions. Remember, there are adult characters, which may follow such lifestyles, along with adolescent characters within a mature age. BUT. That does not endorse curse crazy sex-athons. Simple as. Not every seventh year is at it in a broom cupboard whilst they skip divination.

`out of character rules
oo1. graphic love
avatars and signatures are mandatory. Thats the bottom line. We do have size restrictions which are as follows:
-Avatars: 100x100 pixels.
-Signatures: 600 (width) x 300 (height) OR a maximum of eight 100x100 icons OR a maximum of three 150x150 icons.
Please, refrain from using anything to abstract.
No sexual images, either. Okay?
oo2. set yourself some restrictions
This rule is not really all that flexible but if you're a long-time member and I feel that you can handle having more than five, I'll let you go for it. It really is difficult to juggle five characters as it is, though, so try to flesh out your first few and get the most out of them before making more. You need 10 in-character posts before you can make a new character. So if you have one character, you need 10 IC posts to make a second, and then 10 IC posts on the second character to make a third. Get it? Great. Oh and one last thing - only two canons per person, and make sure they don't have to interact a hell of a lot. For example, it'd be pretty lame if I played James AND Lily, since they have so much plot together.
oo3. "I don't know, check the yellow pages?"
Advertising is the only way RPG's get to spread themselves around really, isn't it? So, we're surely going to have posted in an RP you play on. So, if you wish to return an advert with one of your own, then simply posts in the advertising forum we have here at pride and promise. For more information on advertising, read the advertising rules we have in the forum.
