|| It was hard to hide his look of disbelief, Miles couldn’t honestly believe that Lillian actually accepted the offer and even got permission to bring an ‘informant’ with her as well. Lillian seemed upset at the young cop’s actions about this mission, ”I see…you don’t want me to go. I may not like you at all kid but at least I drag you sorry ass on every mission even the ones I can do by myself. But fine, you want it like this. I’m going to Sinnoh, you can do whatever it is you want to do. We are low on contacts so I’ll hit the streets and you can do whatever goodies-two shoes thing you normally do.”, she stated bitterly. She quickly called out her informant before handing the radio back to Miles. Miles just couldn’t stop silently cursing at himself, this would be his first big mission overseas and he was determined to prove to the other officers that he wasn’t just some kid; that he shouldn’t be looked down on just because of his age.
Lillian’s informant quickly appeared as if on cue, ”Cut the crap, Lillian. I heard enough of that conversation to know you want me to go Sinnoh with you and your cop buddies. Sinnoh is where all kinds of shit go down. It’s ain’t a nice place for cops. And I know you well enough to know that you won’t let me worm myself out of this one. The joy, he warned, causing the cop to cross his arms defiantly. “I’m Timothy Reison. Tim for short. Pleasure to meet you,”, he added. Miles wasn’t going to be frightened off by the idea of danger out there in the Sinnoh region; however, Miles knew that he might as well make the most of this partnership that he’d rather not have and returned the introductions, “Well, I’ll be sure to be extra careful then, Tim. It’s nice to meet you, and I’m Officer Miles Winters”, he replied, preferring to keep the questions of how Tim would know Lillian to a minimum. There was a sudden vibration in his pocket and Miles quickly pulled out his cell phone, his face turning pale when he realized that it was the Sarge that was calling.
He hesitantly answered his phone and heard his superior talk in an irritated tone, “Miles, I can't help but feel a little disappointed in your actions towards your partner. Giving her very little details on what the mission was about, that kind of behavior is something that I don’t approve of. That’s something that I’d have expected from a rookie, not from you Miles”, he said disapprovingly. Miles dared not speak out against Sergeant Adams and simply listened in silence, “I can’t have you trying to single-handedly try and foolishly risk your neck for the sake of recognition-”, he continued, “ But sir, that’s not-”, Miles interrupted only to get cut off, “No Miles, don’t try and say that this mission of yours is solely for the sake of arresting some bad people, I’m fully aware of your recent desperation to stop being looked down on and how you’re constantly trying to handle these things on your own. Keep this attitude up, and you’ll only get yourself killed”, he stated bluntly, silencing the young cop. He could hear the Sarge sigh quietly, “Now, as your superior, I order you to give your partner the full details of your mission, and for the love of Arceus, give her a chance and start trusting her… she’s one of our most experienced officers and you could learn a thing or two from her”, he added. Miles nodded his head, giving Lillian a quick glance, “Yes sir, sorry for the trouble sir”, he replied. He could hear the tone of Adams’ voice shift to a more relaxed and pleasant one, “Good, now get to it, I expect a full report when you get back”, he answered before hanging up.
Stuffing his phone back in his pocket, Miles took a deep breath before facing Lillian and her associate, “Okay Lillian, look, I admit it… you’ve got me all figured out. I wanted to try this mission for myself… to prove to the other officers that I’m just as capable of serious assignments just as they can. So, with the help of the Sarge, I’ve seen how my actions are indeed selfish and I need to be straight with you”, he stated, ready to fully inform her of what was going on, “I got a tip a few days ago about a Team Galactic operation in Sinnoh that’s using Pokémon stolen from trainers for their brutal experiments. I also know that their operation has attracted the attention of Team Rocket, so there’s no doubt that there could be an all-out gang war if this continues”, he said, "So I think the sooner we get to the Sinnoh region the better."
The human was quick to get out of the van and Espio waited until he felt that it was safe enough for him to sneak his way on enemy territory. Hopping out the passenger window, Espio quickly dove under the van when he spotted three more humans in similar attire as the one that had attacked him and Blaine. He watched in silence as they emptied the van of its contents and they made their way inside, “Okay, first things first, I’d better find Blaine and help him escape these humans; once he’s out of harm’s way, I’ll have a look around this place and help others in any way I can”, he muttered.
The Kecleon focused his attention on making his broad blue stripe invisible like the rest of his body and after accomplishing that, he snuck inside the building. He quickly spotted the human from before holding a brown bag in his hand, and it was clear that Blaine was still out cold. He turned the corner and entered one of the many labs, empting the contents of the bag onto an operating table. He strapped the Abra in before leaving, giving Espio plenty of time to slink inside the room and waited until the door closed before revealing himself, “Blaine! Wake up! I need to get you out of here!!”, he shouted, shaking the Abra’s limb body. Blaine didn’t respond, which really worried Espio. He desperately checked Blaine for a pulse, his face turning pale when he couldn’t find one, “N-No! T-This can’t be- Blaine? Blaine! Please wake up, you can’t be dead!”, he shouted, his voice beginning to shake. Still no response; Espio just couldn’t believe what he was seeing… Blaine was practically still a child and he was taken far before his time. He checked the pulse once more, and tried to feel for a heartbeat, but still nothing; before Espio could be absolutely certain that Blaine had passed on, he heard the door slowly open.
The Kecleon quickly leapt to the ceiling and returned invisible, he looked down and saw a few humans with all kinds of medical instruments… he was so confused at this point, “W-What are these humans doing now? Are they here to try and revive Blaine?”, he thought, “I-If this place really is as evil as I’ve been led to believe then I’m defineately intervening, no one will ever have to be taken before their true time like Blaine was, I’ll make sure of it!!”. He couldn’t bear the thought of watching the operation and snuck past the Galactic grunts, returning to the hallway. Espio was now certain that this place had to be stopped, but he still felt hesitant about getting involved in the lives of others. “What if I’m taking this all the wrong way? I mean, what if this place isn’t as horrible as I believe… for all I know, these humans could be scientists trying to cure Pokémon disease or trying to better the world somehow. Am I really right in trying to stop them?”, he thought. He looked at the various doors in the hallway, each having a small label like “Lab” or “R&D”, he knew that if he was going to do anything else, he’d need to be better informed. He hid in the shadows and examined every door for where the humans might have stored information, until he came across a door labeled, “Archives”.
Taking a closer look, he noticed that the door had several high-tech locks, including an eye scanner and card key slot. He paused when one of the many humans carrying a large collection of folders, approached the door and quickly unlocked it, allowing the Kecleon to sneak inside as the door opened. The room was massive with several file cabinets that stood along the room’s walls and an advanced-looking computer sitting in the center. The human was quick to file all the folders in their respective file cabinets and left the room, as if in a hurry. Espio glanced at the large computer and then at the paper files that seemed to be neatly scattered around the room, he had no idea where to even start looking. “Aw man, it could take forever before I could figure out what’s happening here. There’s just got to be a simpler way… ugh, let’s see… I should probably take a look at those file cabinets first, I have more experience with human papers than their computers”, he muttered to himself. He quickly spotted a security camera near the ceiling and decided that it would be best to tamper with the device or else he would risk being detected by the humans. Recalling his previous training from when he was sent to the city, Espio began rewiring the camera, causing it to freeze on a single image of the archives being undisturbed… hopefully the Galactic guards wouldn’t catch on until he was out of the room. He then walked over to the cabinets and hopped onto the top of the one that was ordered from A-F, figuring that there would be some files on any “Experiments” that occurred in the buildings.
Sighing heavily when he spotted the lock on the cabinet, Espio used one of his claws to force the lock open and pulled open one of the cabinet’s shelves. He grabbed the entire folder labeled, E, and began his search for knowledge. The reptile was genuinely surprised that there were indeed many experiments that were documented and now understood why there was such security surrounding the archives, most of the experiments were indeed brutal and several seemed to have been done for the purpose of engineering Pokémon as living weapons. Having seen enough, Espio tossed the folder back into the filing cabinet and searched for the files under M-R to find any details regarding the Pokémon that were held in the building. After doing the same as before in retrieving the folder, Espio found that the files on the Pokémon weren’t very detailed, just a list of the current Pokémon that were held captive, including a shiny Skarmory that had a red star beside it for some reason, and a shiny Treecko. If the files were accurate, then all the imprisoned Pokémon that weren’t being experimented on would be held in the basement.
The Kecleon looked around the room once more, he debated on whether or not he should trash the computer, but chose to leave it alone for now it case it could come in handy. He then spotted an air vent on the ceiling, giving the sneaky reptile an idea, “It’ll be twice as easy to move around through the air vents, I’d better also grab the vent layout plans while I’m still in the archives so that I can locate the basement easier”, he thought excitedly. Already a plan was beginning to form in the Kecleon’s mind, first he would locate the Pokémon and the basement, then he’d start sabotaging the Galactic equipment in such a way that there would be no way for them to continue their experiments, putting their plans on hold. He’d have to figure out how exactly he’d be able to help everyone escape the humans and escape outside, but there would be no rush after putting all experiments on hold. After quickly grabbing the vent layout plans, Espio clung to the wall and loosened the air vent grate, he was on his way to put his plan into action.
"You have gall, questioning the individual that rose up in an effort to save all of you. You are an insolent, unappreciative little pest who would obviously much rather be experimented on again than be saved. Would you rather me leave the grunts be and let them all take you one by one for experimentation so that you all die?", the metal bird hissed, startling the Treecko enough to cause him to fall backward in his cage. If the threat wasn’t bad enough, A2631 felt the need to further amplify his word of authority by driving his sharp beak through the cage bars, while Finn and Nicholas desperately pulled the stunned Treecko farther back into the cage for his own protection, "I will lead you to freedom, however acts like this take time. If you are so impatient and wish to do things your way, then challenge me, I dare you. There is no way someone as pathetic as you would ever be able to defeat me in battle, just look at you, you have no experience. You haven't even evolved yet, you are just as weak as everyone else in this room, if not weaker. The incessant weasel didn't even put up a fight, what makes you think that you stand a chance? Valor has no place when you are faced with a strong enemy.", he added.
The young Treecko tightened his hands into fists, the bird had definitely hit a nerve when he mocked his lack of an evolution. He tried to sit upright and give him a piece of his mind when Finn did all he could to hold the angered reptile back, “Come on man, hold your tongue! We seriously don’t want to watch you get slaughtered by that bird!”, Nicholas whispered as he helped hold him back. After finally calming down a little, he watched as the bird quickly decided to smack their cage around to further remind them of their place. “I can’t believe that this is going to be everyone’s ‘savior’… we’re seriously doomed…”, he said bitterly. The shiny Pikachu and Cranidos finally released their friend who returned to his spot by the cage bars, and casually began poking the electrified bars. “Now what on earth are you doing?”, Finn asked. The Treecko poked all the bars, watching the electricity emit before responding, “It’s weird, but it doesn’t hurt… my fingers get burned, but they heal almost immediately… what have those humans done to me?”, he asked, sounding rather distant. “ I’d hate to stick around and see what other plans these humans have for me here, like it or not, I’m going to have to bear with having that bird in charge, or else I might never get to see the light of day”, he thought to himself.
Hanging around behind the Team Rocket HQ was where Alex’s most recent team member, a Gabite named Galen, had spent just about all afternoon at. There were holes as far as the eye could that Galen had dug, he loved nothing more than going on a search for beautiful shining gems that lay beneath the earth’s surface. Galen poked his head out of one of these holes, his eyes gleaming in excitement at his newfound treasure, a dark crimson red Fire Gem. “That’s the third gem that I’ve found today, ooh all these treasures, who would have known that my new home would have so many..”, he said to himself. He paused, looking around, and quickly realized that he was creating quite a mess. The Gabite leapt out of the hole, carefully holding his priceless possession and used his tail to push the dirt back into the hole and restored the ground to its former glory. “Eheh, well it would seem that I’ve gone a little overboard with my little treasure hunt. I suppose that I’d better fill all these holes before someone hurts themselves”, he said.
Looking around some more, Galen spotted some of his younger teammates, the ones named Oliver and Miss Fortune, “Hello there Mr. Galen! What’cha doing?”, the Purrloin asked with her usual sweet smile. Oliver gazed down in one of the many holes that Galen had dug and chuckled, “Heh, you’ve been pretty busy”, he stated. Galen smiled at the little Pokémon, “Well it’s a pleasure to see you two, I’ve been on a bit of a treasure hunt and I overdid it a little bit. I’m actually going to fix my little mistake in just a few minutes, but please, don’t touch my gems, they’re quite delicate”, he replied. He walked over to the side of the building and carefully placed his fire gem beside the other two gems that he had recently found, a dragon gem and an electric gem. He suddenly spotted Oliver picking up his Amulet Coin and snatched it from the otter’s hands, “Sorry Oliver, but I can’t have this getting messed up or dirty… it was a gift”, he said. The coin was attached to a thin blue string and the dragon Pokémon quickly placed the item around his neck, making sure that it was perfectly clean.
Oliver smiled and looked up at the large dragon, “Um, Galen, there’s something that I need to tell you, in fact, it’s the whole reason we came out here looking for you”, Oliver said, gaining Galen’s interest, but before the small Pokémon could say anymore, the ground shook and Galen suddenly realized that he had forgotten to check in with his father, “ I suppose that you came out here to inform me that my father is out looking for me?”, he asked with an amused smile. The Oshawott grinned and nodded his head, “Yep, your daddy has gone crazy and looks ready to tear the whole base apart, you’d better not keep him waiting and don’t worry; we’ll keep a close eye on your gems and we won’t touch them, we promise”, he replied.
The Gabite nodded his head before dashing back inside the building, quickly hearing loud music playing nearby. He paused, it seemed like a safe bet that his younger brother Acheron was behind the noise, and followed it all the way to Secretary Stef’s office. He soon spotted his father Cronos, and Acheron, who had just finished jumping off a shelf and rolled in front of their father. Galen sighed, it was almost as if Acheron was trying to give their father a heart attack. “Father, were you calling out for me? I’m sorry if I worried you, I was outside and lost track of time”, he said preferring to let Cronos handle the situation with Acheron however he pleased.
Alex couldn’t help but feel a bit relieved at the idea of working alongside other members of Team Rocket, rather than previously believing that just three people would take on an entire organization. Marcus glanced at his trainer warily, he certainly wasn’t fond of the idea of his accident prone trainer going headfirst into danger. The head grunt chuckled nervously, “It’s alright Marcus, I’ll be super careful on this mission”, she reassured. The Flygon however wasn’t very convinced, and rested his head on her shoulder, letting out a heavy sigh. Alex patted her faithful dragon’s head, “Come on Marcus, let’s not delay any longer. We have a ton of work that needs to be done”, she added before hopping on the dragon’s back. Xavier floated beside his trainer and had decided to fly alongside her like the good ol’ days. Marcus quickly flapped his wings and took off into the air, and as he got higher up, Alex suddenly spotted several holes dug behind the base, “Well, it seems like Galen’s been pretty busy”, she thought with a smile.

|| Lillian just raised an eyebrow at the turn of events. She took the radio and weighed her options in her head. On one hand, she could go with him, kick major ass, make a good amount of money and get a free trip to Sinnoh but on the other that meant she could stay and hold down the fort. Maybe this was one of those mission too. Where the younger officer took control and proves his worth and got promoted at the end. It seemed high plausible since the department rarely sent anyone overseas anymore thanks to budget cuts. Eyeing him once more she casted another glance towards Graham who was no doubt thinking of some un-gentlemen like things to say to her. Sighing she flicked on the radio and glanced at Miles again. ”Hey Sarge…yes, he gave me some...uh… details about the mission. I have a question though. Yeah, I’ll go with him…well of course, I would go. He needs backup and…What do you mean I care about him all of a sudden?...No Sarge…I said I have a question…I have an informant that is well acquainted in the area where you are sending us…Can he come with us too?...Yes, I’ll be responsible for him…He can?...Great!...Over and out, boss man!” Lillian said into the radio noting the features that Miles was sporting. Now she understood why he was acting so weird. He only asked because the Sarge asked…well if that was how it was...
She bit her lip as glanced over at Miles. ”I see…you don’t want me to go. I may not like you at all kid but at least I drag you sorry ass on every mission even the ones I can do by myself. But fine, you want it like this. I’m going to Sinnoh, you can do whatever it is you want to do. We are low on contacts so I’ll hit the streets and you can do whatever goodies-two shoes thing you normally do.” Lily stated in a bitter tone. She was a bit hurt and what not but she was a big girl and sucks up her pain and vented it out in a continuous burst of sassiness. ”Informant! Where you at?” Lillian shouted wondering if Graham would be smart enough to catch on. She handed back the radio to Miles.
”I’m here, Graham had turned his shirt inside out, the miracle of reversible shirt and figure his shove in the alley would dirty him up. He took a wary glance at Miles then back at Lily. ”Cut the crap, Lillian. I heard enough of that conversation to know you want me to go Sinnoh with you and your cop buddies. Sinnoh is where all kinds of shit go down. It’s ain’t a nice place for cops. And I know you well enough to know that you won’t let me worm myself out of this one. The joy. I’m Timothy Reison. Tim for short. Pleasure to meet you,” Graham lied as he refrained from reaching out for a handshake. His hands were dirty and in dire need of a sink, water and soap.
"Syn. Have you seen either Galen or Acheron? I haven't seen them anywhere for almost ten minutes, what if they're hurt? I'm about to tear this base to shreds!” Cronos, the head of the Garchomp family, asked the Sneasel as Syn exited Stef’s office. He was ticked about being left to baby-sitting duties but knew better than to mouth of. Rani was pissed at him again and the less time he spent with her was better right now.
”I have not seen Galen. Ash, on the other hand, should be in Stef’s office. He probably didn’t hear you calling for him because he is playing his music way to loud. Syn gesture for the frantic father to follow him back into Stef’s office where loud music could be heard and felt. Syn frowned for a brief moment but hide a smirk when he saw the Gible on his bookcase, rocking out. Not on his shelf. Syn had convinced him all cool Pokemon hung out of the second shelf…closest to the ground. ”Acheron! I thought I talked to you about the music! Your father wants to talk to you. Syn shouted, yanking the plug on the boom box. The beats of the song faded causing Ash to turn and glance at them both.
”Oh hello Daddy. And you did talk, Uncle Syn, I just didn’t listen. Oh Daddy since you are here do you want to see my new trick? I bet you would! I’ll show you!” Acheron stated as he teetered along the edge of the shelf. He took a few steps back before raising his nub for arms and striking a pose and proclaiming in the cutest voice ever. ”I CAN FLY!” Ash jumped off the edge and Syn watched him tumble onto the floor from his four feet high jump. He landed with a thud and rolled towards his Daddy and gaze up at the Garchomp that probably wanted to behead Syn where he stood. “See? You want me to do it again, Daddy? I flew so far! I tried it from Syn’s shelf and I just landed on Stef’s desk. She wasn’t happy. But she did give me a snack. And it was so tasty.” Ash remarked rubbing his tummy.
Syn’s eye widen unaware that the Gible had done such a feat.
Oh shit he was so dead!
Val stumbled towards the basement. She was quickly regaining her strength and stability but walking was still a challenge for her. She saw a fellow grunt; Mark was his name, going in the same direction. She rushed forward quickly hoping that the idea of companionship and support would give her the confidence she needed to find Sebastian. Oh and Conan but Sebastian mostly. If what the two Pokemon say were true, then she needed to help them at all cost. ”Mark? Are you going to the basement too? I’m heading there myself, maybe we go together? I hope the explosion didn’t impact the Pokemon too badly.” Val remarked offhandedly while she stumbled after she missed a step. She knew that it would be hard for her. She didn’t know many Pokemon in there and a lot of them did freak her out with their odd coloring and attitude. But for Sebastian…it was worth it. He was her friend even if he didn’t accept the fact mostly. ”I think it would be best if you lead the way. I don’t know the layout of the basement to well.
She followed them in there but wandered off. Mark went to collect the Garchomp. She had always loved Garchomps and Gibles were so cute. Why was he so injured though? And where was Mark taking him? She released her Froslass, gripping her Wormadam Poke ball in a near death grip. “Help me find whatever attacked me earlier. The giant rodent with the lightning bolt like tail. With the yellow dots on it’s check. Val described as best as her memory supplied back the images. ”Sebastian? Where are you? I know what happened. It’s okay! I’ll help you! Sebastian?!”
Amy gazed up into the Skarmory’s eyes with a look that conveyed gratitude. When he had patted her head with his talon, she thought she was going to be wrenched upward and be gutted like some unfortunate fish. Personal assistant! Oh my! That sounded nice! Amy thought as she made a silent vow to be the best personal assistant ever. She stayed put while the Skarmory took care of business with regards to basement politics.
She didn’t know what to do. Was she supposed to follow him or stay by his cage and take care of his living arrangements? She lay on the ledge by Skarmory’s cage. ”What is your name? Mine is Amy.” Amy asked when the Skarmory return to his cage. “Is there anything you want me to do?” She asked unsure of what she got herself into.
Stephanie helped Cucco into the harness before strapping herself in. She listened to what Al had said and Cucco followed suit taking to the air. She had left Syn home because he had issues with Rani and someone had to stay home to watch Acheron. Back up sure did sound good right about now.

Mark sits alone in his office, drumming his fingers lightly on the desk. He still ponders what the administrator had said to him earlier, about moving up the ranks of Team Galactic and how dangerous the work they did could really get. It sheds light on the fact that he, nor any of the other grunts, had ever actually met The Boss. They knew that his alias was Orion and that his real name was Benjamin Allen (but nobody ever dared call him that), however they had never seen him with their own eyes. He stayed locked up in his office for the most part, monitoring every single minute detail of what was happening around headquarters with his all-seeing eyes. If something went wrong, he'd just have one of his cronies take care of it instead of him having to lift a finger to do the dirty work. Orion built Team Galactic from the ground up ever since Cyrus was removed from power ten years prior, and that's when things started going downhill for all of its workers. Their missions became more dangerous and life-threatening, most newly initiated employees didn't survive past their first few tasks. The ones that did survive were considered elite, and that's why their pay is so high, even when they've just started out. The labor might be hazardous, but the monetary income is substantial, even during the rough times when the economy is struggling to make ends meet. Mark takes all of this into account while wheeling around in his chair, glancing over at his computer to check and see if he had any new missions queued. Nothing, luckily. He decided that being alone in his office was a bore, so he sent out two of his Pokémon; a Toxicroak named Twister and a Skuntank named Lou. The cramped room immediately filled with a disgusting odor, but none of them seemed to mind; they were used to it because of the considerable amount of Skuntanks that Galactic seemed to posses. The incoming message jingle sounds off and Mark turns to open the e-mail. The subject line reads 'Basement' and he's immediately disinterested. "He's got to be kidding, right? Did he see what happened to John? He was practically disemboweled by that bird!"
He reads through the e-mail some more. It says that he has to bring up at least one Pokémon for experimentation, it doesn't matter which. Reluctantly, he presses the 'accept' button on the bottom of the e-mail and gets ready to head towards the basement with his two Pokémon. Who knows, maybe he can reason with the bird and make some kind of deal? He knows that Twister and Lou will be virtually useless because of the Skarmory's steel exterior, but it is at least worth a shot. After all, he doesn't really have a choice. Hesitantly, he stood up and moved into the hallway with his two trusty partners at his side. John limped towards him with a worried look on his face. "Did you get the e-mail, too? The Boss must be crazy trying to send me back down here with an injury like this." John's Glameow snakes through his legs and purrs loudly, trying to comfort her trainer. "I'm going to skip out on this one, you're on your own. It's way too risky, and I don't have any plans to die today." Mark seems unsettled by his attitude and he watches the wounded man as he hobbles away, tripping up over his Pokémon as she makes an unnecessary effort to walk right beneath his feet. "Great, looks like this is going to be a solo mission. I don't blame him, I really don't want to do this, either. Come on, guys, let's get this over with. It's better if we do it now rather than later, we wouldn't want to upset The Boss." He sighs and begins to walk sluggishly towards the basement. Twister and Lou seem just as unnerved as their trainer is. If the rumors about the metal bird are true, they are in for a serious pounding; they might not even be able to escape out of there alive.
Al looks back at Little Stef and Alex and they seem to be ready to go, despite the little skirmish between Alex's Pokémon, but that wasn't very unusual. "All right, we're ready. Cucco's been to Sinnoh many times, so she knows exactly where we're going. I have a map just in case we do end up getting lost, and our ETA is anywhere from fourteen hours to two days depending on the flight conditions. We can stop in Hoenn along the way to rest up, but we shouldn't stay for long." Alistair turns and faces the other two Rockets so Al isn't straining herself to try and speak to them. "Members of Team Rocket from all over are also joining us on this mission, meaning that it's extremely important that we do our best to contribute whatever we can to this effort to save these Pokémon. Anyway, let's go. We're probably going to be the first team to get there, so let's hurry up before it's an all-out war between Team Rocket and Team Galactic." She pulls on the harness and Alistair spreads his wings, running for a few yards before leaping into the air. He flaps his mighty colored feathers until he is stably airborne, then swerves around to see if the others are following. Al smiles, thinking to herself about how hurt Cronos must feel that she left him behind. True, he was the most powerful member of her team, but he was much too defiant to control, especially in dire situations. He wasn't a bad Pokémon; in fact, he was very kind to Al and most of the others, he just had better things to do on his personal agenda than help fight off the forces of Team Galactic. He'd rather spend time with his children before they grew old and forgot about him. Which was understandable, however Al wanted Cronos to be a better addition to her team than just the 'father figure' to all of the little ones, he had some serious potential to be a really great asset for battling. Oh well, at least she had Clyde around.
Meanwhile, back at headquarters, Cronos was prowling the base in search of his two children, Galen the Gabite and Acheron the Gible. They'd always answer when he called, but not this time around. He assumed that they were just playing games with him, but he wouldn't tolerate it. Team Rocket's headquarters was huge and he couldn't risk them getting lost or hurt. He felt the same way about the other younger Pokémon as well, but to a much lesser extent. "Acheron? Galen? Where are the both of you? This isn't funny." He growls, his feet pounding against the ground. Around his neck is a thin brown rope with a single Dragon Fang looped on it, a memento of his old trainer that left him to rot in the Day Care Center. He opens the door to each of the Rockets' offices while looking for his sons, asking all of the Pokémon lazing about if they'd seen them, but to no avail. He sees the lone Sneasel wandering the halls and he approaches him, hoping he'd be able to point him in the right direction. "Syn. Have you seen either Galen or Acheron? I haven't seen them anywhere for almost ten minutes, what if they're hurt? I'm about to tear this base to shreds!" He roars and stamps his feet again, causing a slight Earthquake to rumble throughout the halls. If his children didn't hear him searching for them, they would certainly feel it.
Conan nodded solemnly at the Treecko's response knowing that he'd be no match for the steel bird's prowess, he'd just have to wait it out along with Sebastian and pray to Arceus that they weren't stuck there for long. He did have hope, though. "Surely there must be some way out of here, like a secret door or something?" Conan asked, his claws wrapped around the cage's iron rods. Gaston chuckled dryly, lifting his head up once again to meet Conan's eyes. "There are two ways out of here, neither of which you will like very much," he says, blinking slowly like a kitten caught in a sunbeam. "The first way is to give yourself up for experimentation. There is a good chance that you will either die or be sent back here once they finish with you. In my case, the latter happened." He seems weary when he talks, breathing heavily as if he had just run a marathon. "The second way is to die. They will dispose of your body via the incinerator. I do not recommend this method." Conan is in awe. "How do you know all of this?" Gaston chuckles again, turning his body so that the naive Krookodile is able to see the burn scar that encompasses most of his exposed scales. "I have tried to escape countless times, it's no use. The humans are too intelligent, they know how to fight back. If they weren't equipped with all of that technology, they would be easy to defeat. This is your fate, Conan. You cannot escape." Gaston returns to napping and Conan's heart sinks. Even though the Garchomp is a wise old shark with many tales to tell, Conan chooses not to believe him; he'll find a way out, he needs to take Sebastian to the laboratory before they are both stuck as Pokémon for the rest of eternity. He stands again and looks around at all of the helpless Pokémon, a sickening feeling rising in his stomach when he realizes that Team Galactic is responsible for all of the horrible things happening to these poor individuals. He especially feels bad for Gaston; he's tried to escape so many times and has only suffered the consequences of his actions as reward. Conan will help him escape if it's the last thing he does. Sebastian will have to wait.
Sebastian, on the other hand, almost has a heart attack when he realizes that the Marowak he's been sharing the cage with for the past ten minutes is dead. He screams inside his head and hyperventilates on the outside as the Maractus formerly lying inert in the corner suddenly springs to life and starts attacking. Sebastian covers his head with his fuzzy paws as a Pin Missile attack is spewed his way, but luckily enough for him, the brave little Sandile retaliates and sends it right back at the annoying plant. The small crocodile then bursts through the cage and makes her way over towards the steel bird, leaving Sebastian free to exit the cage if he so chose to. His better judgment tells him to stay behind in the crate with the dead Marowak and killer Maractus rather than leave to face the wrath of the Skarmory. He's stuck between choosing from the lesser of two evils, and he's not sure which is worse. The Maractus decides to leave the safety of the cage and pursue the Sandile instead of attacking Sebastian, so it's pretty clear that he decides to stay behind and watch from a distance. "This is insane. Is this really what goes on down here? I'm glad I work in a different division, I would never be able to handle this nonsense." He practically sits back and relaxes as if he's watching a movie, smirking as the dictatorial Skarmory is confronted by two of his loyal subjects, one bent on raising hell and the other only wanting to please him.
The Skarmory looks unimpressed with the Sandile's offer, but he pats her on the head with his cold talons and accepts her as one of his personal cronies. He notices the Maractus in the distance and prepares a Stealth Rock attack that will ultimately crush it if it chose to step any closer to himself or his minion. "That's right, you are indebted to me. I will allow you to serve under me, you should feel lucky that someone so powerful is concerned for your well-being. As for your Maractus friend, don't fret, she will only be suffocated under those rocks until I decide to remove them. Serves her right for attempting to harm one of my personal assistants." He smiles coldly and then struts away with his ego blatantly showing until the Treecko in the far corner of the basement speaks up. The expression of contentment is wiped from A2631's beak and is replaced with one of scorn and contempt. He clanks over towards the young lizard and scowls, glaring at him and his two other friends. "You have gall, questioning the individual that rose up in an effort to save all of you. You are an insolent, unappreciative little pest who would obviously much rather be experimented on again than be saved. Would you rather me leave the grunts be and let them all take you one by one for experimentation so that you all die?" A2631 snaps, forcing his beak through the bars in case they can't hear him clearly enough. "I will lead you to freedom, however acts like this take time. Valor has no place when you are faced with a strong enemy." He removes his beak from the cage and whacks it with his tail just to shake them up a bit before returning to his post, irritated at the amount of defiance present around him. The lock to the basement door suddenly clicks, startling A2631.
The door creaks open, revealing a grunt and his two Pokémon, a Skuntank and a Toxicroak. He doesn't seem to have any weapons on his person and he looks rather terrified compared to the lot of other grunts that tried to cease the bird's reign. "Listen, bird, I'm not here to try and rain on your parade or anything, but I kind of need a Pokémon for experimentation. The Boss is growing restless and he says he'll blow the entire basement to shreds if things don't start going the way he wants. I suggest we compromise before you all are more hurt than you need to be." A2631 is reluctant to accept Mark's agreement, but he doesn't want to die, he wants to continue his rule, so he turns to his crowd and clears his rusty throat. "Which one of you will sacrifice yourselves to this man for the greater good? You heard him, if he does not return to the upper world with one of us, we will all die." The room is silent except for the sound of worried whispering to one another. "Sacrifice yourself, nobody wants you here!" A Combusken calls out, irate from the bird's monarchical behavior. "Silence!" he hisses, searching the room for a vulnerable entity when he notices Gaston emerging from his cage. "I'll go. He limps towards the center of the room and confronts the Skarmory. "There will be no happy ending for you. You will fall from power, only the good will escape from this hell." A2631 scowls and screeches at the wounded Garchomp, shoving him to the ground; he could care less what the Galactics did to him now. "We'll see who is right when you fail to return. Your discourteous and arrogant behavior will not be tolerated here." Mark rushes down the stairs with Twister at his side and hoists the Garchomp over his shoulder before the Skarmory should change his mind. They leave the basement and lock the door, leaving the Pokémon to occupy themselves with whatever they had been doing prior. "Now perhaps it will be more calm down here. Back to work formulating a plan on our escape, the time is near."

|| It was quite a surprise to see two new Pokémon tossed down in the basement with the rest of the Pokémon designated to experimentation, "Excuse me, how long have you been in captivity for, if you don't mind me asking. My friend and I desperately need to leave and head towards the laboratory on urgent business. Is there a way to escape?", a voice asked from the cage next to the small shiny Pokémon, and it was Finn that answered almost immediately, “I believe that I speak for all of us when I say that we’ve been trapped here for about a month or so, though it certainly feels a whole lot longer than that. I’m afraid that I’ve never seen any Pokémon actually successfully escape this place so I can’t accurately tell you if escaping is even possible”, he replied. Nicholas had grown curious of the Krookodile, “Why on earth do you want to go to the Galactic lab for?”, he asked. The young Treecko suddenly scoffed, “I hate to have to tell you this, but while escape was just plain difficult before, I’m afraid that it’s quite impossible now with that Skarmory ‘guarding’ us all. So unless you’re willing to try fighting him to the door, I’m afraid that you’re stuck like the rest of us”, he said before returning his attention back on the fight between the steel bird and Petey. He was deeply focused on what was happening between Petey and the Skarmory. The grass Pokémon stood up and watched desperately as Petey began a battle against A2631, quietly cheering for the Floatzel to win the battle, though it was hard to admit that A2631’s loud screech sent serious shivers down his spine. That sound would certainly be the sound in his nightmares. Finn and Nicholas watched as well, silently gasping at how easily the metal bird defeated his opponent. As much as he hated to admit it, there was no way that the shiny Treecko could even take on such a powerful opponent. He crossed his arms angrily, unsure about what he could possibly do, ”This is unbelievable, having this bird in charge is nearly as bad as Galactic…, he muttered angrily. He hated feeling so hopeless, “Hey A2631, are you seriously planning on helping everyone try and escape this nightmare that Galactic has forced upon all of us, or are you merely content with keeping those grunts out so that you have the freedom to roam the basement as you please?”, he asked, genuinely wondering if the bird had any intention to keep his so called promise to all the Pokémon.
”What on earth are you doing? That bird could easily tear you apart”, Nicholas warned. The Treecko shrugged his arms, ”I’m just asking a simple question, I’m not exactly accusing him of anything… not yet at least”, he replied quietly.
Looking around desperately for any signs of the attacker, Espio leapt into another tree and kept a close eye out for movement of any kind. Soon enough, a human in unusual attire came walking by with a dart gun in his hands and a Skuntank by his side, “Did you see the escaped Pokémon Hugh? Ugh, the boss will have my head if I let another Pokémon escape again”, the human said. His Pokémon noticed the destroyed trap and began eyeing the trees suspiciously, when suddenly he started to attack the treetops with a Flamethrower attack, startling the Kecleon and causing him to lose invisibility. The human quickly spotted the shiny Pokémon and ordered his Pokémon to direct his attacks at him. Espio easily dodged the attack, changing to a light blue color and used Hydro Pump at his attacker, knocking the poison Pokémon backwards.
The human glared at the reptile and threw out a second Pokéball, revealing a Carnivine, ”Alright Walt, go, use Leaf Tornado!” he ordered. The grass Pokémon followed orders and whipped up a powerful wind that slammed Espio into a tree, with the grass type move forcing his type to change into a grass type. Hugh saw this advantage and attacked with another Flamethrower, which Espio only barely managed to dodge. As the fight continued, the human attempted to fire his dart gun at the weakened Pokémon, but Espio refused to be taken down by such a cowardly action, becoming a steel type to knock the dart back. He quickly dodged another attack by Hugh and struggled to keep an eye on all three of his enemies. Walt dashed at the reptile and slammed him against another tree, the very same tree that Blaine was hidden in. The unconscious Abra fell from his hiding place and landed on top of Espio, pinning the weakened Pokémon to the ground.
The human chuckled at his ‘accomplishment’, “Well, it seems that I go out to find one Pokémon and get to return to the base with two Pokémon, and the fact that a wild shiny just happened to show up is quite fortunate for me”, he said as he raised his dart to the Kecleon. ”No, no! I won’t go down like this; if I go anywhere, it will be by my choice alone!”, he thought angrily to himself, changing his type once more, to his most unstable typing… ghost. Espio knew that he would have to seriously concentrate to prevent himself from sinking through the ground, but it was his best chance to escape. He changed to a dark purple color and watched as the Abra on top of him fell through him, Espio was standing before the human and his Pokémon, before turning invisible and making a dash towards freedom. Hugh growled and prepared to give chase when his trainer sighed, ”Nah, don’t worry about him Hugh, we got what we were sent out for”, he began lifting the Abra up and handing him to Walt. The villainous trio took their leave, but despite his injuries, Espio refused to accept his defeat at their hands. He quickly grabbed a Sitrus berry and practically swallowed the thing whole before following them, spotting a human van.
The Abra was tossed in a cage that was in the back of the van and Espio felt seriously conflicted. ”I-I don’t know what I should do… should I rescue that young Abra from the hands of such vile enemies, or do I follow the traditions that my clan has practiced for so long and stay out of it?”, he thought to himself. The human was already in the driver’s seat and was preparing to drive off to Arceus knows where, and Espio made the decision that he couldn’t abandon who he really was and watch injustice win the day. He hurried over to the van and clung to the sides as the van began taking off. He climbed the side of the van and snuck through the open window by the passenger’s seat, hiding in plain sight. ”Yeah, I’m a little disappointed myself, but that was one smart Kecleon. Aw well, we’ve got the Abra you wanted- yeah, it’s scheduled for immediate experimentation for… oh what was it? The one with forced evolution right? Why did you want only psychic Pokémon for this experiment, to enhance their strength or because they’re more likely to survive? Oh, both.. I see…”, the human said as he talked on a phone. The news alarmed Espio, ”Experiments? What kind of operation are these humans running here?! I don’t think that my family would blame me for intervening in this case, I need to learn more and figure out if I need to put a stop to this operation”, he thought angrily. It wasn’t long until the van stopped in front of a large building, and Espio could tell that he was about to get himself involved with something massive and powerful, an organization that thrived on Pokémon experimentation is one that needs to be stopped.
After shoving her phone back into her pocket, Alex could hear a gentle knocking on the door, "Hey, Alex? We're gonna be waiting outside for you, okay? I have a flight harness here for you if you need it for Marcus, I'll just hang it here on your doorknob", she said before leaving. Alex smiled, she was just about ready to go, she just needed Xavier to finally arrive and then she’d be all set to go. ”Okay, so I have just about everything I need. Marcus how do you feel about wearing a flight harness? I mean, I know how we usually go riding without one and all, I dunno, what do you think?”, she asked him. Her Flygon tilted his head and thought about it before opening the door and tossing his trainer the harness, ”Yeah, better safe than sorry. Alright then, let’s go guys”, she replied. She returned Hot Shot and Lilly to their respective Pokéballs and fastened the flight harness snuggly on Marcus’ back before taking her leave.
It was hard not to feel incredibly nervous about this whole plan, but Alex decided to try and stay as optimistic as possible. As she exited the Team Rocket building, she noticed that Al had James latched to her face and the head grunt couldn’t help but giggle a little bit. She quickly spotted a red figure flying towards the gang and Alex was relieved to see that it was Xavier, who held two Pokéballs in his hands. ”Aw thank goodness you made it Xavier! Is that second Pokéball you have there Icy? “, she asked. The Ledian nervously nodded his head and handed the Pokéballs to her. Throwing Icy’s Pokéball in the air, the shiny Froslass appeared who shot Xavier a cold glare.
“I thought I told you that I didn’t want to come here Xavier…”, she hissed angrily. Xavier nervously chuckled, unsure how to respond in a way that wouldn’t result in getting turned into a block of ice. Marcus was quick to step in, “Trust me, I wouldn’t want you anywhere near Alex after all the trouble you caused us when we first met. However, we’re on a mission to rescue Pokémon that are being experimented on and Alex requested that you come to help us out…”, he stated. The ice Pokémon crossed her arms, “Hello again Marcus, I see that you still hold a grudge… I told you before, I thought that you were intruders on that mountain. Though I doubt that you’d let go of the fact that I did indeed freeze you over in the past, I’d suggest you watch your tone with me”, she warned. Marcus’ wings shot up in anger, ”Ooh, is that a threat?!”, he asked furiously. Alex noticed that her Pokémon were getting a little heated at each other and quickly intervened, ”Hey guys, we’re all friends here… let’s work together on this mission, please?”, she asked sweetly, causing the argument to quickly dissolve. Icy sighed and agreed, returning to her Pokéball to wait until she was needed. Now Alex was one-hundred percent ready to go on this dangerous mission.
At this point, Miles didn’t even care that there were indeed a bunch of no-good scum bags hanging around so close to the police station and focused the majority of his attention on Lillian, who as usual, was giving him one of her well known “death glares”. ”A word? Well then this should be short! Hurry up now, I’ve got things to do!, she said, not taking her eyes off the younger cop. ” Oh let my guess, leadership finally gave you a new partner but you really wanna stay with me, is that it?, she mocked. Miles felt his hand ball up into a fist, but he knew that he’d have to stay on her good side, just for a little while. ”Well, far be it from me to bother you while you’re on… business today…”, he lied, he felt sick to his stomach, “And while I have yet to be reassigned a different partner, that’s not why I’m here. Um, the Sergeant gave me permission to take a temporary leave to the Sinnoh region, and he insisted that I ask you if… erm, well, if you felt like… offering some back-up for me. Now before you try and curse me off, let me just say, I completely understand if you feel that there’s too much work around here and that you’re far too busy to come along. That’s reasonable to me, I’d just need you to take a few seconds of you time to give the Sarge a call and tell him that you’re not interested in a.. um, boring wild goose chase for some no-good thug would might not even be in the region. Here, I even brought a spare two way radio so that you can easily contact him and explain that you’re just far too busy and that this is such short notice to ask you if you felt like coming and how this whole this is just such an in convince to you and how you’d rather do just about anything than to work with me on something overseas and all…”, he stammered, trying desperately to hide his nervousness.
The cop quickly handed Lillian the radio so that she could contact the Sergeant and obviously tell him that she’d rather be sent to the moon than go on a vague mission in search of evil with Miles by her side. Miles stuffed his hands into his pants pockets, ”Please say no to the offer, for the love of Arceus and all that is holy and sacred, PLEASE SAY NO TO THE OFFER!”, he thought nervously to himself.

|| “You know honey, when I said that we needed to spend more time together…this isn’t what I meant,” Graham pointed out as his wife, Lily, collected bribes from the Aqua grunts that owed her. He was dressed in his Sharpdeo shit with cargo shorts and Lily was dressed in her police uniform. She glared at him and Graham wisely shut up.
”Graham, come on now. You can’t expect me to request a few days off so we can have a weekend getaway. If I took off, half of Aqua would be in prison by Monday.” Lily told her husband while poking his chest. She gave him a warm smile as Graham took her hand in his. Graham shrugged in agreement and Lily thought she loved him more when he conceded to her arguments.
”Hey Lillian, I need to have a word with you..” Miles called from the entrance of the alley. The Aqua grunts scattered at the sound of his voice, darting out of alley in a speedy fashion. Well everyone except Graham. He stood there still holding her hand. Lily in a moment of panic, wrenches her hand out of his and gestures for him to leave.
”But hon, I’m sure that we could handle this in a civilized manner. I want to meet your-OOF.”Graham started to explain before Lillian tackled him causing him to fall in an uncoordinated manner behind a dumpster. She gave him the look of you-better-shut-up-or-Darkrai-nightmares-ain’t-nothing-compared-to-what-I’m-going-to-do-to-you. Graham bit back his moan of pain. His chest hurt from where Lily hit him and his back hurt from landing on this filthy floor.
”A word? Well then this should be short! Hurry up now, I’ve got things to do! Lily sneered at the goodie two shoes cop who unfortunately was her partner. She kept her eyes averted from the dumpster choosing instead to drill into Miles’ soul with a gaze filled with disgust. She knew she hit Graham kind-of hard but he should be fine. ” Oh let my guess, leadership finally gave you a new partner but you really wanna stay with me, is that it? Lillian mocked as she process the note of regret in Miles’ voice. Well this was certainly going to blow up in her face in about a few seconds…
Graham however rolled over onto his stomach and bit his lip to keep his temper from getting the better of him. He was going to have that long talk with Lily at home. Even if he has to get Bubbles to sit on her, he will have that talk with her!
Amy said nothing for a long time. Bonnie and her cage roomie all had good points. It wasn’t like she asked to be saved by the Skarmory. He did what he did because he wanted to. She just happened to be there at the wrong/right time. Lifting her head because she sensed a movement in the cage, she peered over at the Marowak who was in the shadows like he always was. [i]Was he okay?[/b] she wondered as she lifted her weigh of the ground of the cage to her feet so she could move to check on him. ”Hey, Marowak. Get up. Get up…Marowak?” she asked as she move his arm with the snout of her head. He wasn’t responding at all.
All of a sudden Amy felt something grab her tail and pull her back. The cage floor was smooth and Amy tried to dig her claws in to get some traction to stop her descend to death but her claws kept slipping off. She still too wounded from her earlier experiments to do any attacks. She heard a sound like maracas from behind her. [i]A Maractus is going to kill me.[/b] She thought as the pulling motion stopped and released her tail. ”Hello there desert alligator. Your friend…your friend is dead I’m afraid. The humans injected some kind of poison into him. Testing how much time it would take to kill Pokemons of different sizes. The Maractus told her, her voice rhythmic and carried a soothing note. Still, the news hurt Amy. She hadn’t known the Marowak very well but no one deserved to die like this.
”H-How do you all this?” Amy bit out, her voice shaky from emotions raging throughout her. He just died silently. Didn’t even give her a warning or even a good bye. He had been as nice as one could be in this situation, giving her some of his food when she had first arrived. His advice had kept her alive. Not alive and well but alive.
”Oh, I know a lot of things. I’m not part of the experiments like you guys are. No, I’m a grunt’s Pokemon. See, I’m not a freak like you are. Have you seen yourself? You are all green and whatnot. I’m pretty and normal.” The Maractus stated as Amy faced her. She was a mean one, Amy thought as she coped with the death of her cage roomie. She was coping with death and the only thing this Maractus could say was how pretty she looked.
”How did you get in here?” Amy demanded as she took a few scurrying steps backwards. The Maractus just laughed and shrugged off her question. The Maractus moved towards Amy causing her to dart away in the small confining cage.
”You think you are all that since the Skarmory saved you. You were supposed to die today! If that Skarmory hadn’t intervened, you would be dead, you little bitch. DEAD. Like your friend here. I’m the one they send in when things don’t go how they are supposed to go! I’m going to be the last thing you see before you die! Consider yourself lucky that my pretty face will welcome you to the afterlife!” the Maractus screamed as it fired Pin Missile towards Amy. She moved, dodging all of them, trying desperately to escape. Amy used Counter] on the Maractus, mentally clapping and praising herself when she heard the other Pokemon scream in pain.
”The Green One saved my life…that’s what you are telling me,” Amy spelled it out so there was no misunderstanding. With the Maractus injured, Amy threw herself at the cage door, surprised when it opened and broke in half as she landed on the floor. She skidded a few feet but turned and ran towards the Skarmory ‘s cage/castle. There was a Floatzel at his feet when she saw him. Clearly someone had tried to attack him. She waited for him by his cage/throne after he made his declaration. ”Ex-ex-ex-excuse me…Mr.Green Skarmory…if you are not too busy with all your...uh…other subjects…may I have a moment of your time?” Amy asked staring at the ground, intimidated by the Skarmory. ”Umm…you kind of…save my life and I grew up in the desert where a life saved is a life earned. So uh…I’m indebted to you…”
Valeska wondered why the mouse…giant rodent had reared up but quickly found her answer when it crashed into her with an electrical attack. She fell to the floor in a dizzing amount of pain as the Pokemon scurried away. Welll, at least Olivia hadn’t left. In fact, Val gave her a lazy smile as she felt so close to passing out. ”Return Olivia. “ Val muttered as she struggled to get off the floor and out of the office. She stumbled a few steps as somebody knocked her over. ” Oh god. I need to rest for a minute.” Val stated as she sat on the floor.
Stef smiled as Al introduced her to Cucco. "Cucco's going to be your ride over to Sinnoh. Flying is very safe, don't worry; I have a couple harnesses to make it easier for us. Hopefully the weather will remain clear, it would suck if it began to storm or something. Anyway, let's go wait outside for Alex. We'll pass by her office on the way so we can just knock and let her know that we're waiting for her." Al told her and Stef nodded. Al seemed really focused so she said nothing in the lapse of silence that formed between them. ”"Anyway, as I was saying... It's time to do this. This is probably going to go down as one of our toughest missions, if not the toughest. I hope you guys are up for it. I know I am.”
”Let’s do this. We’ll save those Pokemon! I’m ready! Stef said as she fingered her Pokemons. She made a mental note to find a flying type when they got back.

Sebastian still wasn't able to understand a single ounce of dialogue that Valeska was spewing out. Everything was fuzzy, his head was pounding, and his tail writhed about on the ground involuntarily since he still had no idea how to control anything bundled with his new unwanted form. Becoming enraged seemed to produce massive amounts of electricity within the pouches on his cheeks, and he was most certainly infuriated for more reasons than one. He glanced up at Valeska, who was speaking to the overly-friendly Conan, and let out a menacing audible growl, showing some teeth just for the fun of it. He backed himself into a corner and then sprung forward, using his tail to propel himself outward in order to achieve top speed. Roaring loudly with sparks dancing around his small, unstable body, Sebastian bounded up from the tile and slammed into Valeska, both of them becoming imminently surrounded in a heavy sheet of high-voltage electricity, causing some of the lights to flicker and a few machines to malfunction temporarily. The recoil made Sebastian slightly dizzy, but he was able to regain his equilibrium once again in a matter of seconds. He darted over towards Conan and climbed up the spines on his back, then perched himself on top of the Krookodile's scaley head. "Let's go before more of them show up! Take me to the laboratory, I might be able to get the chemicals I need to turn me back into a human before my DNA fuses with this Arceus-forsaken rat's and I'm stuck like this permanently," Sebastian grabbed the sides of Conan's skull between his paws and positioned his head towards the door. Finally able to somewhat control his stringy tail, he gave the bipedal gator a few whips. "What are you waiting for, get a move on!"
Conan yelped and waved good-bye to Olivia. He rushed out of the door, his large claws creating loud noise against the ground as he ran towards the stairs, shoving a few grunts out of the way in the process. The taller grunt stumbled over into the arms of the second, scowling at the rampant Pokémon who they assumed were escaping from being experimented on. They didn't consider it unusual since it happened so often; the Pokémon thought that they could team up to escape the clutches of Team Galactic? Yeah, right. The taller brown-haired grunt reached for his belt and unclipped his walkie-talkie. He pressed one of the buttons on the side and then spoke softly into it. "Code yellow, we've got two escapees. A Krookodile and a Raichu, they're headed towards the staircase leading down to the first floor. Backup is required." The smaller, darker-haired grunt glared at him. "I've had enough with these stupid Pokémon already. Are we seriously going to go after them?" He'd been injured by a rogue down in the basement earlier that afternoon and he really didn't want to have to deal with any more mortal wounds. "You don't have to, but I'm going to. I can't risk another cut in pay; they've got security cameras set up all around here, if they catch us not acting when we're supposed to, we're done for. I'm sure you'll have an excuse because you're injured, but not me." He began to make his way towards the stairs, reaching into his pocket to whip out some strange cylindrical device. "Wait, Mark, I'll go with you. Just in case." He took the same device from his pants' pocket and accompanied his partner towards the staircase. There were already two other grunts and an administrator waiting at the bottom of the stairs with their primitive tools- fishing nets and potato sacks- for the two escapees to rear their ugly heads.
"Shh, I see them!" Mark hissed, crouching low so he wouldn't be noticed by the two Pokémon. Sebastian glanced from side to side, crawling toward the edge of Conan's snout so he'd be able to be a better sentry. "I don't see anybody. The coast's clear, keep moving. If you happen to see a few grunts, just plow through them and focus on travelling. We can lock the door once we're in the laboratory since you'd need my key card or The Boss' to unlock it." Conan nodded, causing the Raichu to wobble a bit. "You got it, I'll get you there, don't worry about a thing." Something about Conan's positive attitude really irritated Sebastian. Even so, they pressed on, reaching the bottom of the staircase in a matter of minutes, completely oblivious to the three Galactics who wait in ambush for them right outside of the door. "Now, go go go!" Mark screamed into the walkie-talkie, jumping over the guard rails with the device held securely in his grasp. He landed on top of the Krookodile who didn't put up much of a fight, however the Raichu was able to escape through the door unscathed. Mark rolled off of the grounded gator and pressed the red button on the cylindrical device, shooting out a huge electrical net that bound itself to the Pokémon so he would be unable to move. Conan didn't even hesitate when Mark and his injured companion bent down to pick up the heavy gator, it's as if he had already accepted his fate. Sebastian, on the other hand, bolted through the door, only to be dog-piled by an administrator and two grunts. They wrapped their hands around him, rubber gloves on of course, and stuffed him into one of the potato sacks, laughing as he thrashed about.
"To the basement, then?" Mark grunted under the weight of the Krookodile. If he didn't know better, he'd even think that the gargantuan crocodilian was actually smiling. "Yeah, let's go. There's a nice empty cage for them in the back. I'd like to see them try to escape again with that crazy bird running amok down there." The admin swung the bag containing Sebastian over his shoulder and dismissed the two other net-wielding grunts back to their stations. "If you're lucky, the both of you might even get a promotion. The Boss really admires dedicated workers, especially ones that have been injured on the job and still have the gall to continue," he began to explain. "Team Galactic has the highest mortality rate of its workers out of all of the five branches of criminal organizations. We do the most dangerous work, and the conditions we work in aren't exactly ideal. We're prone to diseases, mortal wounds, being torn apart and dismembered, explosions, spontaneous fires... It makes you wonder why we work here in the first place, right?" Mark nodded. It was oddly philosophical of his superior to be giving him a history lesson along with making him think twice about his life's decisions. "The pay grade is high, especially when you start climbing the ranks of Team Galactic. If you think your work is dangerous now, you just wait. A little scratch from that miscreant Skarmory will be a joke to you in the future. Ever since Cyrus was booted from power all those years ago, Team Galactic has been considered a threat to not only the world, but to the organization itself." "Why are you telling us this?" Mark asked, looking over his shoulder back at his partner to see if he was listening to the administrator. "Just something to think about. Don't take it too personally. I've been working here for over five years now and I'm only a one-stripe administator, whereas that Sebastian's been here only three and he's got six stripes. That guy involves himself in some dangerous work, that's how he's so powerful. That is the secret to success here. Don't be an idiot and try to get yourself killed; accept your pay grade as a grunt and stick with it. Do as little as you can and you'll be fine."
Mark was utterly confused as well as his partner. They both nodded solemnly and chose to accept the administrator's words, although he seemed to be speaking out of jealousy rather than experience. Once they reached the basement, the administrator opened the door and tossed the potato sack inside. The Skarmory could choose to do with it as he pleased. As for the Krookodile, Mark and his companion did the same. They slammed the door shut, locked it, and continued what they had been doing before that whole inconvenience took place.
Al paced back and forth, anxious for the others to hurry up and pack so they could hit the road already. Clyde, Alistair, and Cucco all sat in one corner of the room, talking among each other while Al waited impatiently for her friends to arrive. "Galactic, huh? Don't you think that's a bit dangerous, even for us? I mean, I heard from my buddy over in Sinnoh that Galactic is ruthless, they've killed hundreds of people that try to cross them, and who knows how many like us they've slain," Clyde spoke worriedly, curled up tightly in his small, fuzzy bed. "To be honest, I think Al and her friends are in over their heads for this one. The only reason I'm going is because it's my job to protect her and I wouldn't stand for being at fault if something were to happen." Cucco cawed softly, shifting a bit against her perch. ""Yeah, I agree. She raised me since I was little so it wouldn't be right to abandon her. It's not like I have much of a choice, anyway," he flicked his tongue sarcastically. They both glanced over at Alistair who was being unusually quiet. "What's the matter, Alistair? Snake's got your tongue?" The majestic eagle shook his head. "No, I'm just as worried as you guys are. I, erm, unfortunately haven't known Al as long as either of you have, but I'm determined to do my best to become a part of this team." Cucco and Clyde exchanged glances and laughed. "You're as much a part of this team as we are, even if you did come in a lot later than us. We're not going to judge you. As long as you do your part and cooperate with the rest of us, you're going to be fine. Al already trusts you with her entire being for saving her during the Day Care mission, you've got nothing to lose, my friend." Alistair smiled softly and nodded, glancing over at the worried Al who was greeting Little Stef as she bounded excitedly into the office.
"Finally, I've been waiting forever!" Al exclaimed, placing a hand on Little Stef's shoulder. "Have you seen Alex? I've got everything ready over here, all we need now is Alex and we're good to go." She raised her hand in the air and called her team over with an odd gesture, then reintroduced Cucco to Stef. The dark bird chirped softly and smiled at the smallish secretary. "Cucco's going to be your ride over to Sinnoh. Flying is very safe, don't worry; I have a couple harnesses to make it easier for us. Hopefully the weather will remain clear, it would suck if it began to storm or something. Anyway, let's go wait outside for Alex. We'll pass by her office on the way so we can just knock and let her know that we're waiting for her." She said, impatience present in her tone. She walked over to her desk and picked up her bag filled with supplies, then opened her desk drawer and pulled out three black harnesses. She fastened one onto Alistair and the other on Cucco and swung the other over her shoulder in case Alex needed it for Marcus. She hopped on top of the red, white, and blue bird's back, returned Clyde to his ball and set off towards Alex's office. She tapped lightly on the door as she passed, trying to get a peek in to see if she was ready or not. "Hey, Alex? We're gonna be waiting outside for you, okay? I have a flight harness here for you if you need it for Marcus, I'll just hang it here on your doorknob." She let the device dangle from Alex's door handle and continued down the hallway with Alistair, looking back to see if Stef and Cucco were following behind. She pushed the front doors open and allowed her Braviary to step outside into the warm, evening air. The moon shone brightly overhead and a cloud of Woobat fluttered incessantly around the trees.
"All right, time to do this-" she began to say when suddenly a giant ugly spider latched to her face and began crawling around. "James!" She sputtered, removing the arachnid from her person. "I take it you want to come, too, huh? Fine, as long as you don't screw anything up. Got it?" The eight-legged creature squeaked excitedly and nipped at Al's arm out of affection. She rolled her eyes and returned him to his Poké ball as well, annoyed that he decided to appear from nowhere.
"Anyway, as I was saying... It's time to do this. This is probably going to go down as one of our toughest missions, if not the toughest. I hope you guys are up for it. I know I am.
The charismatic dictator glared down derisively at the writhing potato sack and the tied-up Krookodile, scoffing as if unimpressed that they had been captured by the lowly Galactic grunts. He walked over to them in a slow, dramatic manner and circumnavigated around them, not taking his eyes off of them for even a second. "Ah, it seems that we have two new guests. Welcome to the basement. I, A2631, am your leader. It is my sworn duty to protect you from the harmful hands of the Galactics and lead you out of here in one piece. Do either of you have names or are you just as unwanted as the rest of us?" The Skarmory uses his sharp talon to snap the ropes that are binding the Krookodile's mouth shut. "I'm Conan, and that's Sebastian," he gestures to the potato sack with his snout. "Oh, but we're not actually Pokémon, we're humans. We were just turned into Pokémon from some unfortunate circumstances." Conan could hear Sebastian shout 'Shut up!' from inside the sack. A2631 threw his head back and guffawed. "You really expect any of us to believe that? My, you must be delusional from all of that experimenting. Here, I will free you from your restraints and you may join the rest of the caged ones here. It would be wise of you to stay within the confines of your cage, lest you want to be pulled out and experimented on again. You will regain full consciousness and awareness of your surroundings again soon, do not fear. For now, do as I say and no harm will come to you." The bird uses his beak to pierce through the rough potato sack and his scythe-like tail to rip the net that restricted the rest of Conan's movements. Sebastian bolts out of the sack like a madman and stands his ground in front of the bird, cheeks brimming with electricity. He growls and his tail whips back and forth, but the Skarmory doesn't seem to be either amused nor intimidated. He sneers and picks the rodent up by its skull, glaring at him dead in the eyes. "You are a fool thinking you can defy me. You have one chance to get to your cage before you are isolated from everyone." He slams the Raichu against the basement wall and Conan gasps, clasping his claws over his muzzle in surprise.
"That goes for you, too!" He snaps at the Krookodile who immediately stands and runs to occupy a cage near the back end of the basement. In the cage with him is a Garchomp with a scar running across his chest. He has a nick on the fin protruding from his back and one of his claws are missing. He doesn't seem to notice the Krookodile entering his territory; his held is held low and his eyes are closed. "Sorry for intruding, however it seems as though we're going to be rooming together. I hope you don't mind." Conan says nervously with one foot inside of the crate. The Garchomp's eyes snap open and he raises his head to look at Conan. He nods, welcoming the new resident. "Gaston," he says lowly. "Is what you may call me. The cage is big enough for the both of us. Don't leave the cage. You'll be seriously hurt. Got it?" Conan nods. It's obvious that Gaston knows what he's talking about. "My name's Conan. It's... A pleasure to meet you, Gaston." Gaston nods again and returns to meditating. "The Skarmory will be the death of all of us. Stay out of his way, do not attract attention to yourself." Conan sits on the floor of the cage and scans the basement. He's amazed at how many Pokémon are contained in one place; some of the cages seem to be even stuffed beyond capacity. How cruel of them to do this to these poor Pokémon... he thinks to himself, glancing at the Pokémon in the cage next to his and Gaston's. A Cranidos, Pikachu, and Treecko inhabit the small confines. "Excuse me," he starts politely. "How long have you been in captivity for, if you don't mind me asking. My friend and I desperately need to leave and head towards the laboratory on urgent business. Is there a way to escape?"
In the meantime, Petey is outraged by the Skarmory's outlandish behavior towards the Raichu named Sebastian and decides to call him out on it. "You say you're gonna protect us from harm, and yet you just threw that poor guy against a wall? You're so lucky this cage is locked, or I'd pound you into a wall, ya' big metal freak!" Dazed, Sebastian stands and flees to where Conan is and looks for a cage that isn't filled with Pokémon that he's able to stay in for the time being. He decides that the cage containing the Seviper and Sandile seems roomy enough, so he opens it from the outside and joins them, unable to get the cage back open when he tries again. He then realizes how intelligent Team Galactic's designs are and that there is no hope for him to escape the basement, with or without Conan's assistance. If the cages didn't keep him back, that damned bird surely would. "You dare challenge me? You are an insolent fool," the Skarmory growls, approaching Petey's cage. "If you truly wish to battle me, then so be it." A2631 pushes the door to the cage open and props it up. He returns to the center of the basement and awaits Petey's next move. The Floatzel staggers angrily from the electrical box and stands in front of the nonchalant bird, his paws curling into fists as he thinks about throwing a sucker punch just to piss him off. "Well? It's your move, birdy. Hit me with everything you got." A2631 scoffs. "As you wish." The feathered metal death trap screeches and lunges forward with his talons spread wide and slashes at Petey. The weasel dodges the attack barely, and his shoulder is grazed and now bleeding profusely. He opens his mouth and shoots a torrent of water at the bird, but designed to be agile, the Skarmory moves swiftly out of the way of the blast and charges again towards the vulnerable mammal. He skids to an abrupt halt just before reaching Petey and pivots on his foot so his bladed tail smacks him right against the head.
Petey is thrown to the ground, now unconscious. "That should teach the rest of you not to challenge true power!" The bird snaps, breathing heavily. "Is there anyone else out there who wishes to test their might? Anyone? Speak now or forever hold your peace. I promise that you will not win."

|| All the Pokémon in the room had fallen silent as the large Skarmory began a rather uplifting and hopeful speech about working together to get out of Galactic hands, and Finn and Nicholas silently nodded their heads, clinging on to every word. The shiny Treecko smiled as well, watching as the metallic bird seemed to be a literal knight in shining armor that would protect and fight for the force of good. After finishing his announcement, there was a short pause of silence before everyone burst out cheering even louder than before. It seemed like everyone was sucked in to this bird’s charismatic appearance and were glad to finally have something to hope for…. Freedom. Suddenly, Finn’s face went pale, he pointed at the Galactic grunt that stood behind the Skarmory, “Aw man, look out!”, he warned desperately. Both Nicholas and the shiny Treecko turned and quickly saw the human as well, now making threats while A2631 bravely stood his ground, though he looked a little startled by the human’s arrival.
”This isn’t good, a flamethrower versus a steel bird. I can’t look!”, Finn said quietly, covering his eyes. The Treecko frowned, this certainly didn’t look good; he watched in anticipation when a powerful Hydro Pump knocked the human back and allowed A2631 to destroy the weapon and chase him off. Everyone cheered once more, but the young reptile felt a sense of danger hanging in the air. A2631 menacingly approached the Pokémon that helped him and appeared to be trying to attack the Floatzel. ”What the heck is that bird doing?!”, he mumbled quietly. Even Nicholas and Finn were having second thoughts about the Skarmory, suddenly now fearing for their lives. "If any of you so dare to challenge me for my position, do not hesitate to tell me up-front. I will be sure to dispose of you with ease.", he threatened.
The young reptile glared at the bird and slowly stood up in his cage, prepared to show some courage of his own and defend Petey’s actions; but before he could even open his mouth, Nicholas grabbed his arm and pulled him back down into a sitting position, ”Hey I seriously don’t recommend you say anything, just stay quiet and nod”, he warned, genuinely concerned for the Pokémon’s safety. The shiny Pokémon pulled his arm away and frowned, ”Are you nuts, this guy’s a tyrant. He’s two-faced and can’t be trusted”, he quietly answered. The Cranidos shook his head, ”It’s not worth getting taken out over, just listen to what he has to say and don’t rock the boat any more than you have to, you won’t survive if you have to worry about both Team Galactic and that Skarmory and those who loyally follow him. Please, just endure this for your own sake”, he whispered. Crossing his arms angrily, the young reptile knew that Nicholas had a point and silently nodded his head. He would tolerate the metal bird and his actions… for now.
After being sent out into the unknown world by his parents and clan, Espio roamed through a rather large forest, and was told to use his immense knowledge to survive out in the wild on his own bringing nothing but an Expert Belt snuggly wrapped around his waist. He suddenly heard calls for help nearby, and debated on whether or not he should offer assistance despite being taught otherwise. Being raised by a clan of Kecleon that preferred to be unseen by all conflicted with his natural desire to help others. Eventually, his curiosity got the better of him and he decided to investigate the commotion.
He stumbled across an Abra that seemed to be forced down by an electrical field of some sort, Espio had never seen such technology. The Abra was struggling to remain conscious when he suddenly noticed the Kecleon, ”Hey you! P-Please help me!”, he begged. The reptile paused, was it really in his place to interfere, though it was clear that he would have to make a decision soon as whoever set up the trap would be coming to see if their trap caught anything. Espio concentrated and slowly turned a dark brown color, becoming a ground type. He cautiously stepped towards the injured Pokémon and began to dig around the electrical field that pinned the Pokémon down. He could feel the electrical currents moving past his claws as he dug deeper into the ground until he found a silver disk with a red button in the center that was brightly lit. He slowly pulled the device away from the Abra until it was out of the ground and in his hands.
Smashing the odd device against a tree, Espio turned and saw the Abra who was grateful to be rescued, ”Thank you so much sir, m-my name’s Blaine. I’m so happy to be released from that horrible trap”, he declared. The Kecleon gave the small Pokémon a confused look, ”So, who or what set that trap for you? I must say that the technology they used is quite impressive. I don’t quite get what would cause anyone to place such vicious traps in a place like this, surely there must be a logical reason for such an action…”, he commented, mostly to himself. Now it was the Abra’s turn to be confused, ”Logical reason? Those traps were set by evil humans, we’d best get away from here, or they’ll catch us and do Arceus knows what”, he replied. Espio frowned however, never in any of his studies when he lived with his clan had he ever heard of such a thing… but he decided that it would be better to be safe than sorry.
”Um, I never did catch you name… and to be honest, I don’t think that I’ve ever seen a Kecleon out in these woods before”, Blaine said nervously. Espio snapped out of his thoughts and quickly replied, ”Oh yes, I’m sorry. My name’s Espio, I’m currently on a trail to gain experience out in the world and to expand upon my already vast knowledge. Most Kecleon live in isolation when they can, just tradition I guess.”, he explained. Suddenly, Blaine winched in pain before falling over, knocked out. Alarmed, Espio came to the Pokémon’s aid and spotted a white dart in the Abra’s shoulder. The Kecleon quickly grabbed Blaine and leapt into the trees to hide, they weren’t alone anymore.
Hastily filling up a spare backpack with necessary supplies, Alex thought up several possible scenarios of how attacking Team Galactic’s base would work out, and nearly all of them had bad endings. She couldn’t help but feel a little worried about the idea of going after Galactic, though she really did want to help the Pokémon they had stolen and were hurting on a day to day basis. Alex reflected on her team and realized that most of them had very little battling experience, and probably never had to fight to save their lives. The thought of having her own Pokémon stolen terrified her, and she quickly decided that Oliver and Miss Fortune definitely had to stay at the base where it was safe.
Marcus poked his head in the office as Lilly, Strawberry and Hot Shot walked in, and Marcus could tell that his trainer was feeling worried. ”Okay Strawberry, would you mind watching after Oliver and Miss Fortune for this mission? I’m afraid that it’ll be too dangerous for those two and I can’t afford to have them wander around when we get to the Galactic base. Did you hear that you two? Stay here, she said, warning her Oshawott and Purrloin. The two small Pokémon frowned but nodded their heads, offering a spare potion for the journey.
The head grunt smiled and hugged the two Pokémon before leaving, ”Thanks you guys, I’ll be sure to bring you something nice when the mission succeeds”, she promised before walking out of the office. With her team at half size, her chances of success felt significantly lower, but she couldn’t risk bring her youngest two Pokémon on a mission as dangerous as this. Marcus rested his head on Alex’s shoulder and tried to comfort her, when an idea suddenly popped in her head. ”That’s it!”, she exclaimed, pulling out her cell phone from her pocket, ”I still have Xavier and Icy waiting back home, I’m sure that those two wouldn’t mind offering me some extra back up on this mission, and Xavier’s fast enough to fly over in a couple of minutes”, she said happily, as she dialed her home number, ”Hey dad, I was just wondering- yeah, yeah the overseas program that I’m in is great- yeah, I know I should call more often but- I- dad, we can chat later, I’m being sent out on an ‘assignment’ and I need to have Xavier and Icy sent over here right away. Yeah, great thanks, okay bye”, she said, quickly hanging up the phone.
Marcus chuckled a little bit as Alex sighed, ”Yeah I know, I’ll call him after the mission’s done and do some real chatting, right now there’s work to be done”, she explained to the Flygon.
There Miles was, ready to demand to get something as important as stopping Galactic’s crime spree and now he was obliged to ask if Lillian was interested in tagging along, like this was a field trip or something. It was clear that his boss never bothered to read the numerous request reports for a new partner that Miles sent him or else he would know that Lillian and Miles couldn’t be more opposite from one another.
The young cop was ready to throw his arms up in the air in frustration at the idea of how Lillian would end up ruining his crusade for justice; he didn’t even have a clue as to where Lillian could even be at to ask her about his mission. As he was about to leave HQ, another cop called him out, ”Hey if you’re looking for your partner, I saw her hanging out in an alley down the street... odds are she’s still down there collecting money”, he said. Miles hid his disgust at the thought of Lillian collecting money, obviously her bribes for the week or whatever her schedule was for those kinds of things.
”Thanks for the Intel”, he replied, sounding completely uninterested. It wasn’t long until Miles spotted Lillian hanging around near an alley like the officer said and after silently cursing himself for going through with this, he called out Lillian, ”Hey Lillian, I need to have a word with you..”, he said with a hint of regret.

|| Amrita had listened to the Skarmory’s speech in complete awe and in total fear. Total fear of Galactic. Were they going to come after her when the Skarmory wasn’t around to protect her? And why had he chosen to protect her? The sounds of applause died as the grunts hurried down in force. Another Pokemon had stepped up to the plate and defended the Skarmory. Or was it defending? Why would a water type use a water attack near a Steel type? That stupid turtle! How dare he endanger her hero?
Of course following his closing remarks, everyone began talking and Amy sunk into the back depths of her cage. Trembling, she tried her best to keep her feelings check. She was terrified. She had always done good things in her life. Help a fellow Maractus. Played with her brother. Helped her mother and father. How could she end up in a situation like this? These situations happened to bad people. She wasn’t a bad person, she was a good person!
”You are going to be a target from now on,”the Marowak said to her as she huddled into a ball. He had offered random tidbits of advice. They had taken away his bone and he had been experimented on. He had been here for a long time. She lifted her head to look at him with a questioning look. ”Everyone will think that you are important to him. You think he gives a crap about what happens to you? He doesn’t. He just seized an opportunity.
”Nothing like that would happen. Whatever his reasons are it ended already. Amy assured herself and her neighbor. She moved towards the front of the cage wondering what she was supposed to do now. She saw the Skarmory in the middle of the room and was terrified of the changes he was going to make.
”You should listen to your friend,” someone hissed from across from Amy’s cage. The thing slithered towards the front of the cage so it could lock gazes with her. ”The name is Bonnie. And if you know what is good for you…you’ll listen to my advice. Destory that Skarmory before he destroys you. You’re not a snake; you don’t understand how the world work. Kill or be killed, my dear.”
Amy shuddered as she digested the Shiny Serviper’s advice.
Stephanie listened to Al give the details of the mission as she scanned the written order with her eyes. Definitely some bad crap being done to those poor Pokemon. ”I’m in. She said before she made relarealization like how the hell was she going to get there? Borrow one of Stephie’s flying types? Razel could only do short distances… Al offered to let her use one of her flying types.
"Twenty minutes before we leave, if not sooner. Hurry and gather the necessary materials and round up your teams. We've got a mission." Al told them before racing to pack.
”I guess we’ll meet up by Al’s office,” Stephanie told Alex before dashing out of her friend’s office to her own. Throwing a ton of supplies and food in her messenger bag and making sure all of the Pokemon she called her own were in their Poke Ball before running back to Al’s office. ”I’m here Al! You ready?”
"Yes, hello, could you send for help? We're in a bit of a situation here." the Krookodile said to Valeska. Val squealed and jump back almost jumping onto Sebastian’s desk. She took a calming breath as she forced her nerves back. You talk to Olivia all the time. And she is a Pokemon. She talks to you too. It may be though the mind but it is same communicating. And where the hell did these Pokemon come from anyway?
Fumbling with her belt, she tore the Poke Ball from her belt and released Olivia, her motherly Froslass to save her. After the red transparent light fade, the Pokemon took a look at mess in Sebastian office with a tsk in a Val’s head. Well I don’t think Groudon could do more damage in here than what Sebastian has managed. Hon, what’s wrong? Olivia inquired as she noted Val’s paled features.
”Conan? Is that you? WHERE IS SEBASTAIN? Help? Everyone has fled the building because something went boom. You know with the procedures that are in place, it’ll be hours before anyone else is allowed inside. Val spoke with a trembling voice to them as Olivia floated towards the Raichu and Krookodile. She felt so light headed that she was ready to fall to the floor.
”She is right. The whole entire building is gone. What lunatic would come back in the building? Well maybe the same lunatic that stayed back…Anyway, tell me what is going on and I’ll pass the information along. Val is going to faint from shock if you keep talking to her. She accepts our bond.”

The entire room was filled to the brim with thick, black smoke that poured out like water once the grunt known as Valeska opened the door out of panic. Sebastian coughed and sputtered and squinted through narrow eyes at his surroundings. It was still hazy, but he could make out Valeska's silhouette and the outline of the seemingly unconscious Conan lying motionless beside him. He knew that Valeska was speaking, but he couldn't understand what she was saying; the deafening roar of the explosion caused him to have a temporary loss of hearing. It was all coming back, though, denoted by the faint yet incessant ringing in his ears. He shook his head in an attempt to clear out his clouded thoughts and stood, watching as the smoke slowly but surely accumulated to a different area in the building. He looked up at Valeska. How did she get so tall all of a sudden? he wondered to himself, struggling to maintain his balance. He placed a hand on his forehead to fight back the rhythmic pounding of his blood vessels when he noticed something unusually odd: his face felt... Fuzzy. He held his hands out in front of his face and gaped in utter horror at what he had become. Instead of the strong, intimidating administrative officer that he was only a few minutes ago, he was now a cute, fuzzy Raichu! He snapped his mousy head to the right and scowled at Conan, who was still lying inert on the ground.
Instead of a Raichu, however, Conan had turned into a Krookodile, much to Sebastian's dislike. With a disdainful look on his face, Sebastian approached Conan and headbutted him in the side in a futile struggle to awaken him. "Do you see what you've done!" Sebastian shouted. "Look what you've done, we're both Pokémon you idiot! I haven't completed the antidote yet, there's no turning back!" Of course, only Pokémon would be able to understand Sebastian, not humans. Conan rolled over and stared at Sebastian with half-open eyes, holding back a laugh at how adorable he was even though he was trying to seem menacing and infuriated. "Calm down, we'll find a way out of this. You can just finish the antidote and we'll be fine, right?"
"I don't have thumbs!" Sebastian snapped. "How do you expect me to do anything in this body? Even if I did finish the antidote, I wouldn't give any to you, this is all your fault!" He hissed, discharging some electricity mistakenly. "I can try to help you as best I can. I may not have thumbs, but my digits are much more flexible than yours so I'm sure I'd be able to grasp things a lot easier."
"Don't try to help me anymore. I don't want you anywhere near me."
Unlike Sebastian, Conan could actually still speak English along with obtaining the new ability to talk to other Pokémon. He rubbed one of his sore eye stalks and turned to face Valeska. He didn't know that only him and Sebastian knew of the effects of the bomb, so the grunt would surely assume that they were escapees from the basement floor.
"Yes, hello, could you send for help? We're in a bit of a situation here."
"You idiot! This isn't the time for small talk, run!"
“Hey Al. Did you say mission? I want in! My Pokémon are about to go stir crazy from being so long. So, where are we going?”
”Alright, so what’s this about a mission? Um, Marcus, would you mind finding the rest of the team?”
Al nodded and held the mission statement in front of their faces.
"Galactic is stealing Pokémon from trainers all across the region and they're using them for experimentation. We've got to save them, hundreds of them have already died from the poor conditions Galactic is keeping them in, along with all of the distress from continuous experimentation. It's just plain wrong, and I'm not gonna stand for it. What about you guys, are you in?"
From behind her, Alistair called out excitedly. Clyde and Cucco followed shortly behind, eager to set off and pound in the faces of those wimpy wannabe space cadets.
"Stef, since you don't have a flying-type Pokémon, Cucco has offered to let you ride on her back on the way to Unova. I've got Alistair here and Alex has Marcus, so we'll be all set. If my calculations are correct, we should be there before nightfall; make sure you guys pack everything you think you're going to need. Something tells me that this is going to be a very long and arduous mission."
Al didn't even wait for their answers. She knew that there would be know way that either of them could refuse her offer. They were both bored beyond their wits and if the calling cries of abused Pokémon didn't wrack their souls with sorrow and sympathy, nothing would.
"Twenty minutes before we leave, if not sooner. Hurry and gather the necessary materials and round up your teams. We've got a mission."
"My friends, colleagues, and loyal companions," the Skarmory started, addressing the room of now silent Pokémon. "We have suffered here for far too long. It is high time that you have someone, fearless and strong, that will lead each and every one of you out of this dreadful, hellish place unscathed. I feel that after recent events, I am obliged to take on this role as your leader, and it is my sworn duty that I will protect all of you at all costs, no matter now large nor small you are, no matter how weak nor strong. I, number A2631, will be the first to declare this an official civil revolution against Team Galactic and all of those who associate with them. I, number A2631, declare myself your leader and I will fight to the death to save us all from the abuse that we have to endure here every waking moment of our lives. Now, who is with me?"
For a split second, the entire basement was silent. So silent, in fact, that it was almost unnatural. Then, however, every breathing soul in the room rose and cheered for the steel bird, rattling the cages and shouting out obscene whooping calls, the whole nine yards. A2631 smiled to himself, fanning out his plumage in a way to embrace all of his adoring fans as they applauded him for his unexpected acts of bravery. He could get used to this. Yes, he could. Being the center of attention, having everyone love him and want to be just like him. It was a new, foreign feeling to him, but he enjoyed it nonetheless. After being abandoned by his mother when he was only a chick, any sort of attention was a beautiful thing to him. Justifiably, his new role as the leader of the basement-dwellers would prove himself worthy to not only his mother, but to everyone else who had ever doubted him by saying that he wasn't strong enough, that no trainer would ever want to capture him, that he'd die alone in a nest made of his own tears. He'd prove to them that they were wrong, he'd prove to them that A2631 the Skarmory was not a worthless being. He'd prove them wrong.
"Get back in your cage, bird." A muffled voice appeared behind him. The room ceased the excitement yet again and turned to face the strange sound.
Another Galactic grunt, this time clad in a thick rubber-looking suit, huge cloth gloves, and a gas mask. In his hands he held some type of firearm connected to a large tank that was strapped to his back. "Get back in your cage unless you want to burn." A2631 screeched and clawed at the ground with his talons, spreading his bladed feathers as far apart as they could go. Though he was terrified beyond anything ever fathomable, he couldn't let his adoring fans notice. After all, they were cheering him on against the grunt. All he needed was a little pat on the ego to instill some bravery inside of his cold, metal chest. "You've got three seconds before I torch you and all of your little friends down here. Three." The countdown had begun and A2631 continued to stand his ground. If a giant steel bird was able to perspire, he would have been sweating metaphorical bullets by that point. "Two." The bird shifted his position a bit, still staying in the same place with his talons planted firmly in the ground. "One."
Before the grunt could even fire his weapon, a torrent of water exploded from the opposite direction and knocked him clear off of his feet, sending the firearm flying to the adjacent corner of the basement. A powerful Hydro Pump attack from a caged Floatzel, more commonly known as Petey. "Take that, ya' land animal!" Petey shouted, laughing among his cage mates, giving them each high-fives as he watched the grunt struggle to his feet. By then, A2631 had already grabbed hold of the flamethrower and was ripping it apart piece by piece, swallowing the individual parts whole. Once he noticed that the grunt was grounded again, the bird shrieked and proceeded to attack, ripping at the man's clothes and clawing him with his sharpened talons; he continued until the grunt had enough and decided to retreat, his suit all tattered and torn with blood stains everywhere. The Pokémon began to cheer again, but this time it wasn't for him. It was for Petey. Enraged, A2631 approached the cage with Petey and his two buddies and clamped his talons tightly on one of the iron rods. "You dare challenge my authority?" he hissed, squeezing his beak between the bars. "Ch-chill out dude, I was only trying to help ya' out. You looked like you was in a bit of a' sticky situation, so I gave the guy a what-for."
"I don't need your help. Learn your place!" A2631 withdrew from the bars and reclaimed his place in the center of the room, clearing his throat again. "If any of you so dare to challenge me for my position, do not hesitate to tell me up-front. I will be sure to dispose of you with ease."
And so began A2631's tyrannous rule.

|| Down in the basement of a Galactic base, were dozens of Pokémon that taken from their homes, and for some, their trainers. Many Pokémon were housed in cages that were usually filled with two to three Pokémon, sometimes more depending on the size of the Pokémon and their expected life spans. In one of these cages, there was a shiny Treecko who chose to abandon the name he was given by his father, who was a well-respected Sceptile in the wild. The grass Pokémon looked back to the moment of his capture, the look of pure delight he saw in his father’s face when his own son was captured in a human trap. The Sceptile simply smiled and left his son behind to suffer at the unmerciful hands of the humans.
Holding his arm in pain, the Treecko slumped along the side of the cage, the cool metal easing the soreness that his body felt. The Galactic researchers sure seemed to take some kind of pleasure in causing him extra pain, but maybe that had something to do with the last test he had forced upon him. The shiny Treecko wasn’t entirely sure what those humans did to him, but he recalled hearing them say excitedly amongst themselves that he now had an ‘enhanced healing ability’. Unsure of what that really meant, he stared out beyond the bars of his cage and waited for the arrival of the next batch of Galactic humans to collect more unfortunate test subjects. In the very same cage that held him captive, was a shiny Pikachu named Finn, and a shiny Cranidos named Nicholas, who were apparently owned by the same trainer and were stolen by some Galactic grunts. They both talked about how they had hopes of rescue from their trainer, but it seemed quite unlikely that any human would be saving the day.
It wasn’t long until the Galactic grunts made their presence known, they filled each Pokémon’s food bowl and called out various numbers, and thankfully, he didn’t hear his own number called out. When he thought about it though, it seemed unlikely for him to have to endure another experiment since the humans were still trying to see how well the enhanced healing ability of his worked out for him. Suddenly, there was a loud screaming and it appeared that a Skarmory had flat out attacked the grunts, preventing them from collecting the Pokémon for experimentation and causing them to flee like the cowards they really were. The young Treecko smiled excitedly at this turn of events, he was relieved to see another Pokémon sticking his own neck out for the sake of others. Though a bad feeling formed in the back of his mind, the humans certainly wouldn’t tolerate such an action. Finn and Nicholas crowed around the cage bars to see the metal bird stand tall and cheered happily, ”Way to go man!”, Finn shouted. Nicholas chuckled a bit, ”That’ll make those humans think twice before they come down here again!”, he laughed.
Another day, just another day with nothing but a pile of paperwork that towered over the entire desk. Well, Alex was just about ready to call it quits for the day. She sighed heavily, spinning around in her chair, desperate to waste time. With Strawberry and Hotshot out in the kitchen, and Lilly out in the halls to deliver a letter to the empty room where the boss was, there was just her and the other half of her team. Her faithful partner Marcus waited patiently for his trainer and seemed to be a little edgy.
The head grunt groaned and decided to join her two little Pokémon Oliver and Miss Fortune under her desk, ”Hey you guys, you seem to be a little bored”, she commented. Oliver seemed to know that Alex was bored too and tugged at her hand. He blew small bubbles out from under the desk and Miss Fortune pawed at her trainer’s arm playfully. Suddenly, there was a loud knocking on the door which startled Alex and caused her to leap up, banging her head on the underside of the desk. ”Ah! Ooh that hurts!”, she began, rubbing her head. "I know you're in there! Open up, we've got a mission!", Al said from behind the door.
”Okay, hang on a sec… I’m coming!”, she called out before crawling out from under her desk. She opened the door and could feel a knot beginning to form at the top of her head, ”Alright, so what’s this about a mission? Um, Marcus, would you mind finding the rest of the team?”, she asked.
”Okay Sargent, tell me, what’s it going to take?”, Miles asked as soon as he busted into his boss’ office. ”Excuse me? Miles, what have I told you about slamming into my office unannounced?”, Sargent Adams said sternly, putting his newspaper down. Miles maintained his serious attitude; he wasn’t backing away from this. ”Sir, there have been numerous reports of citizens having run-ins with Galactic grunts who are actually stealing their Pokémon, and I have a strong and reliable source that points out the location of the Galactic base that's responsible to be in the Sinnoh region”, he declared, ”What’s it going to take to be able to stop these criminals once and for all?”, he asked.
Sargent Adams sighed, ”Miles, I think you’re getting ahead of yourself. What, are you asking to obtain a warrant to search all of Sinnoh? I’m afraid that you’ll need to narrow your selection down a bit before you can do anything legally. And isn’t the Sinnoh region out of your jurisdiction anyways?”, he asked. Miles shook his head, ”Sir, I’m afraid that the only region out of my jurisdiction right now is Unova, and that’s only because the badge and official papers haven’t come in through the mail yet. Though I admit that I understand what you’re saying, well how about I go and do some of my detective work to gain precise evidence of criminal activity and discover Galactic’s base location?”, he offered, showing off his multiple badges that ranged from the Kanto region to the Sinnoh region. Sargent Adams smiled at this proposal, ”That sounds like a plan, but just make sure that you don’t get yourself into any serious trouble and remember, you can only search a place if you have evidence or an actual warrant”, he began. Miles smiled and turned away to leave the office, ”Oh, and see if your partner is interested in accompanying you on this little mission of yours. I’d personally feel more at ease if you went all the way to Sinnoh with some form of backup”, he added.
Miles practically froze in place, the Sargent wasn’t honestly suggesting that Lillian should help him in this matter; the way that she acted around crooks would only hinder him on such a mission as important as this. The young cop struggled to think of the right words to say, he certainly couldn’t go against a direct order and the boss did only want Miles to just ask if Lillian wanted to go… maybe she’d have something far better to do,”Um, I’ll ask her sir, but I can’t promise anything….”, he managed to say. Sargent Adams grinned at him and Miles quickly took his leave. "Great now I have to have a word with Lillian…", he thought angrily.
