Title: Chaotic Overthrow
Description: ~I DON'T WANNA DIE~

Raneeta ran through the meeting place that was oddly unpopulated at the moment. The name would suggest a rather busy place, a place where friendly pokemon could be reached and information could be found. Like where the Darkrai’s home was Syn? Questions that she needed answers to now. Razel had managed to talk her out of evolving and now she wanted to talk to Syn. Maybe establish whatever friendship they had…she sighed as she stopped to look around.

Where was everyone?

Maybe Sitara was wrong. Maybe Syn had gone home or m-m-m-maybe he left for good…without saying good bye to her. The two rivals had worked together, Razel using his knowledge of Syn and Sitara her psychic gift to help her find Syn’s location.

“HALT,” A voice said from behind Raneeta. Happy for a Pokemon to ask about Syn, she whirled around only to come face to face with a Heatmor. Taking a step back, she almost cut and ran for her life, “YOU ARE VIOLATING QUEEN FATE’S ORDER!” he exclaimed causing Rani to back up and run for life. She screamed as she ran into somebody causing her to almost fall. “YOU ARE THE ONE WHO IS RUINING THE QUEEN’S HAPPINESS!”

“L-l-leave me alone,” Rani gasped reaching a fountain which she jumped into. Summoning a small Surf, she managed to knocked the Heatmor out and ran to the pokemon she stomped over. “A-A-are you okay? I’m sorry,” Rani apologized gently, “I’m Raneeta. But most people call me Rani. What is going on here? Who is Queen Fate?” And why did he say I caused the Fate’s unhappiness?

Xavier tried to calm himself down, he was still trying to grasp why he was having such horrible luck ever since he arrived at this troublesome park. First he was ambushed by those crazy Kanto loving nuts, then he was attacked and nearly eaten by that sinister Ariados, and then he nearly lost his life force to that creepy as heck Frillish. Xavier was mumbling loudly to himself about his horrible luck and how he’d seriously like to complain to the owners about how dangerous the dumb park was. The Ledian looked around and realized that he was paying no attention to where he was even going and somehow ended up at the Poke Park Meeting place. ”How the heck did I get here?! Arceus, I’m so getting sick of this place.”, he said dryly under his breath. Looking around, he realized that there were barely any Pokémon, but the Ledian just sighed, ”Great… I’m all alone again. I wonder how long it’ll take before trouble rears its ugly head again”, he muttered.

He suddenly heard screaming and was then knocked over by a shiny Sneasel, he realized that the Pokémon was being chased by a Heatmor for some reason. After using a Surf attack on it, the pink Pokémon walked towards him. ”A-A-Are you okay? I’m sorry, I’m Raneeta but most people call me Rani”, she explained nervously. Before he knew it, Xavier was quickly being asked questions that he didn't quite understand, ”Hey calm down, I’m not really sure what’s going on myself and I’ve certainly never heard of ‘Queen Fate” he explained hastily, hopping back on his feet. He paused, the name Rani sounded familiar…. He recalled how both Annabelle and Syn mentioned her once or twice, and even Clyde at one time.

Xavier realized that his heart was beating faster than normal, apparently one can never get used to fighting for their lives and this certainly felt like one of those times again. His body was getting the shivers, something was certainly wrong and it was most likely that this “Queen Fate” was the cause of the troubles. “”Excuse me Rani, but I overheard something about you being the cause of this self-proclaimed queen’s happiness. That’s almost never a good sign, so I suppose that we’d better find some Pokémon willing to help and get to the bottom of this mystery before another tough Pokémon makes an attempt to attack you…”, he said politely. Xavier knew that he was not going to be able to avoid whatever evil force awaited the duo, and he refused to run away from it. ”It doesn’t make a whole lot of sense though, Heatmor aren’t normally aggressive except towards Durant”, he wondered aloud, glancing back at the unconscious fire type. ”Regardless, I think that it’d be a good idea to get out of the area before anything else happens, my guess is that you’re a target”, he added.

He looked around the area; he couldn’t shake the feeling that something was watching the duo.

“Excuse me Rani, but I overheard something about you being the cause of this self-proclaimed queen’s happiness. That’s almost never a good sign, so I suppose that we’d better find some Pokémon willing to help and get to the bottom of this mystery before another tough Pokémon makes an attempt to attack you…”, the Ledian advised as Rani stood shaking a bit from the fact that someone wanted her out of the picture.

Oh sure, getting attacked and running for your life is a daily occurrence from him but I clearly haven’t gotten used to the idea yet, Rani thought as she remembered something Razel had mention. Didn’t he say that Syn met a Ledian in the park? Could he be the one Razel was talking about? Nah, Syn wouldn’t make a friend like him. He seems liked the opposite of what Syn was accustom too in the friend category. The cut and run instead of standing up and fighting type of friend was what Syn always hung out with. It was why he was in danger of death every other second of the day.

“I’m very grateful for your advice but how do I know you are not trying to lead me to my doom?” Rani asked scared for her life. It did seem a bit suspicious that he is trying to rally support in what looked a war between the governing figures. “I’m just looking for someone. I just need to talk and then I’ll be leaving,” she explained hoping that would stop all these people from getting the wrong impression of her. “And who are you exactly? And where is everyone?” Rani questioned as she twirled around feeling the instincts of a female who knew fights to well.

Something flew around them; Rani felt it stirring in the shadows. Glancing around, she looked at the Ledian. Was it a friend of his? Or an enemy of them both? Or was it a fragment of her overactive imagination? Feeling even more scared, because surprisingly that was a possibility form the event that have transpired. “There is something watching up from the shadows…I feel it. I feel them…I think they are trying to surround us…” Rani stated as she began inching out of the clearing that made a huge circle.“We need to get out here now. Someone is planning something…let’s not be here when it goes down.”

SapphireChao15 - February 11, 2012 08:12 PM (GMT)
The Ledian couldn’t help but understand Rani’s concerns, “I’m very grateful for your advice but how do I know you are not trying to lead me to my doom? I’m just looking for someone. I just need to talk and then I’ll be leaving,” , she explained. He nodded his head in silence, ”Who are you exactly, and where is everyone?”, she asked him. Xavier crossed his arms, he couldn’t help but feel a little hurt by Rani’s accusations though he understood why she didn’t really trust anyone. He took a deep breath and chose to answer her questions one at a time, ”Why on earth would I do that though, I’ve nearly been killed more times than I care to remember at this stupid park. I mean yeah, clearly I look like the type to just mercilessly kill others for no real apparent reason!”, he answered back bitterly, unintentionally releasing some of his pent up anger at all that had happened to him, ”I mean, I’d honest to Arceus would just love to be able to just relax and try and meet new friendly faces, but heaven forbid anything good ever happen to me-!”, he paused… realizing that his anger was not helping the situation. He looked down at the ground taking deep breaths to cool off, ”Sorry about that, I’ve just had a rough time is all; but that’s no excuse for snapping at you. If you happen to be the very same Rani that Syn told me about, he was last spotted at the river, I’d recommend checking there first”, he said.

He shook his head, and looked up at her nervously tugging at his scarf, ”My name is Xavier and to be honest…. I have no idea where everyone is at. I don’t even remember how I stumbled upon this place, my anger kind of got the better of me. I know for a fact that this park isn’t truly run by ‘Queen’, so I just assumed that something was off in the park…. Like that’s really a surprise anymore”, he sighed. He turned away from her, his wings beginning to flutter rapidly. ”I just got tired of trying to run from whatever force that seems to enjoy seeing me writhe with agony so I figured, why bother to run? Might as well face it and get it over with, but I shouldn’t have expected you to be cool with that so I apologize”, he continued slowly being lifted off the ground, ”When you find Syn, would you mind telling him that I’m sorry that I kept dragging him into my messes. Honestly, that was the last thing I wanted to have happen”, he said sincerely.

He paused, his feelings of being watched were amplified by at least ten times. His wings slowed down and gently placed him back on the ground. There was a presence and it was beginning to surround them. “We need to get out here now. Someone is planning something…let’s not be here when it goes down.”, the Sneasel had warned. Xavier looked around once more, he had the gut feeling that these shadows weren’t just after her, but were targeting him as well. ”Yeah, I’m all for that plan. Let’s make the first move and high tail it out of here”, he agreed. He stepped forwards and looked down at the ground, his shadow was distorted and appeared to be moving on its own. ”We need to run, like NOW!”, he shouted. Using Psybeam on his own shadow revealed a Yanmask that was trying to hide from sight. It laughed and disappeared, a booming laughter was then heard and about a dozen red eyes could be seen from the shadows. Xavier waited for Rani to make the run first, "Go, we'll cover each other and clear a path out of here", he said.

darkruby15 - February 12, 2012 02:28 AM (GMT)
Rani stared at Xaiver with enough happiness in her soul that she almost tackled hugged him. Because of his entire rant, a few seconds ago, she fought her basic urge. On that she never resisted around Syn. So he was the Ledian Razel had told her about! Raneeta made a mental note to thank Razel when she got back home. When you find Syn, would you mind telling him that I’m sorry that I kept dragging him into my messes. Honestly, that was the last thing I wanted to have happen. She remembered every word. She would too. All you had to do was say Syn stepped on a pebble and she would worship it for the rest of her life. What kind of misadventures did he get into now, Rani thought with a smile. At least he was still here. By the river, which made sense since he liked to surf.

"Go, we'll cover each other and clear a path out of here" Xavier hissed at her, jarring her from her thoughts. Her happy, jovial thoughts. She staggered her first two steps. The sight of the Yamasks surrounding them was a nightmarish sight to behold. Okay, Rani, run and then you wouldn’t have to fight anyone, she reminded herself as she darted between attacks of Shadow Ball and Night Shade. It was hard for Rani to see images of Syn with another woman Sneasel. She closed her eyes and fougth back tears as she ran.

She opened them to find Haze all around them. Accustom too the mist and limited visibility of snow she darted between them. Xavier couldn’t make it, Raneeta suddenly realized stopping within a few feet of the opening. Turning back she used Faint Attack on a couple of them, “Xavier! Xavier!” Rani yelled as she knocked aside more Yamask. The haze started to lift and she could make out the tips of his wings. Running she grabbed him and hauled her feathered head to the edge of the clearing. “I don’t know what we did to deserve this but I’m sure I did do anything that bad. Xavier, umm isn’t this the way to Annabelle’s home?”

SapphireChao15 - February 12, 2012 03:40 AM (GMT)
The Yamask were coming in fast and in large numbers. Xavier took a deep breath and used Psybeam to knock a few back. ”Oh course, it just had to be a bunch of ghost types, why can’t it ever be a Pokémon that I can physically punch?!”, he muttered angrily. Rani began making a run for it and Xavier flew right behind her, attacking any Pokémon that came charging towards her. Suddenly, he was knocked over and found himself surrounded by Haze. The glowing red eyes mocked him, the Yamasks were chuckling excitedly as they attacked his from all sides; he continued to attack them, refusing to let them take him down. ”Give it up, you’re surrounded., they taunted, ”Our Queen would like to have a word with you”. The Haze was beginning to get really bad; the Ledian could barely even see his hands in front of him. ”If you’re so confident, why are you hiding from me?”, he answered back.

The laughter continued, they continued to mock him, ”Silly insect, do you really think that you stand a chance against the likes of us?!”, they answered back. The Haze swirled around him, and a pair of purple eyes glared back at him. Xavier froze, shivering; he’d recognize eyes like those from anywhere. An Ariados stepped out of the mist and watched him in silence, but Xavier couldn’t move. He watched in silent horror as the spider slowly made its way towards him, he fell to his knees as he shivered uncontrollably. ”What’d we tell you, no chance!” the Ariados said as it prepared to pounce. ”Snap out of it Xavier, it’s NOT real!! Get on your feet and face it, this is just an illusion by the Yamask!”, he thought to himself.

The Ariados leapt into the air, snapping Xavier back to reality. He jumped to his feet and used Psybeam, which landed a direct hit. The spider quickly dissipated into nothing. An illusion just like he thought, when suddenly a Shadow Ball pierced through the mist and slammed right into Xavier’s chest. The Ledian was knocked back, having the wind knocked out of him he desperately gasped for air, when the Yamask hovered over him menacingly. Xavier managed to sit up, coughing and wheezing, when ghost Pokémon were struck with a Faint Attack from Rani. She called out his name as the fog began to lift up at last, and was pulled from danger by the Sneasel. ”T-Thanks!”, he managed to say, coughing some more.

“I don’t know what we did to deserve this but I’m sure I didn’t do anything that bad”, Rani said, ” Xavier, umm isn’t this the way to Annabelle’s home?”, she asked him. The Ledian looked around and nodded his head, ”Yeah.. not.. sure if she’s…. there though… left a few… months back”, he panted. He looked at the forest, and shut his eyes tightly, ”It’s okay, you won’t run into those spiders. You know where they’re at and know how to avoid them!”, he reassured himself quietly. Catching his breath, Xavier spotted the river that rested beside the forest, ”We should search for Syn first, as much as I hate to get him involved, we need his help!”, he added pointing at the riverside. He desperately hoped that Syn was still by the river, or else the duo could be in serious trouble.

darkruby15 - February 13, 2012 02:01 AM (GMT)
”We should search for Syn first, as much as I hate to get him involved, we need his help!”, Xaiver managed to complete a sentence with pausing to draw a breath to his lungs. She nodded in her head in agreement and looks at the river than laid beside the forest. It was wider than Rani had imagined. In fact there seemed to some activities being carried out on the river. That comforted Rani. Maybe the queen’s influence hadn’t reached the river yet. That gave Rani a bit of hope that everything could work out.

The sun shines a bit more out here, like the queen had managed control the radiance and inspiration that the sun provided. Rani walked along the river willing to take her chances near the river than hang any closer to what that the meeting place had to offer. “It’s such a lovely day for surfing. I’m surprised that no one is enjoying it. I mean sure there is mad woman running loose but there is strength in numbers, “Rani told Xavier as she noticed something dragged up against a tree. Moving closer, maybe because she wanted to make sure that it really wasn’t Syn’s surfboard or maybe she wanted to prove herself right. Perhaps she needed to stop being so delusional. He obviously didn’t care about her or her feelings.

“What are we going to do once we find Syn? He isn’t going to be too happy to see me and may not want to help us?” Rani felt obligated to point this out. She wanted him to know that all the background before they confronted Syn. Rani gasped when she realized that was Syn’s surfboard. “He left it here?” she whispered brokenly. She touched the tip where the heart had been painted over.

“Xavier look someone is coming,” Rani stated as she noticed a Blissey approaching them. From the look on her face she had a lot to talk about. It actually looked like a sense of relief past through the Blissey. The Blissey had a friend, a Natu by the look of it. The Natu skipped towards them.

“Why, why are you two here? The fight lies inside your soul beyond the yonder. The one you seek cannot help. For he is the reason for all of this,” the Natu told them without even offering a proper greeting. Rani stared at the little bird that looked too wise for his age.

SapphireChao15 - February 13, 2012 10:53 PM (GMT)
The two Pokémon walked alongside the river, Xavier was finally breathing normally and chose to keep quiet, trying to figure out what the heck just happened. ”Okay, so this Queen Fate is after the both of us, and somehow those Yamask knew about that little incident with the Ariados that I had… but how?!”, he thought. His body shivered again, the illusion was pretty life-like and he feared that any other enemy would use his fear of spiders as a serious weakness. He crossed his arms and closed his eyes, ”Now’s not the time to be worrying Xavier, you have to make sure that Rani doesn’t get hurt”, he told himself as he opened his eyes, ”I’m sure that Syn would turn me into a block of ice if anything happened to her”.

He glanced at the river nervously, it wasn’t all that long ago that he was attacked by that Frillish Kai, and he really didn’t need her company. He realized that of the entire group that fought her, it was him that chased her away with an incredibly spicy berry. He snapped out of his thoughts as Rani broke the silence, ”It’s such a lovely day for surfing. I’m surprised that no one is enjoying it. I mean, sure there is a mad woman running loose, but there is strength in numbers”, she said. Xavier chuckled fearfully, ”Well, unfortunately there was a crazy Frillish that attacked in this area rather recently. I’m not surprised by the lack of Pokémon in the area”, he explained. He calmly followed Rani as she walked towards a tree with a familiar object leaned against it. ”What are we going to do once we find Syn? He isn’t going to be too happy to see me and may not want to help us?”, she asked him. Xavier stretched his arms before replying, ”We’re going to have to tell him that there are Pokémon that are targeting you and that we know that he’s a pretty good fighter. The way I see it, whenever someone even mentioned the idea of hurting you, Syn went all out on the opponent, so I don’t see why he wouldn’t want to help?”, Xavier reassured. They stopped at the tree and Rani took a closer look at the object, Xavier was shocked when he realized that it was Syn’s surfboard; he nervously looked around, wondering what made the Sneasel leave it behind.

”Xavier, look someone is coming”, Rani said. Xavier quietly sighed when he recognized the Pokémon, it was none other than Serenity the Blissey and she was accompanied by an apparent friend, a small Natu. ”Xavier, we need to talk”, she said casually. The Natu hopped towards the two, “Why, why are you two here? The fight lies inside your soul beyond the yonder. The one you seek cannot help. For he is the reason for all of this,”, he said. Xavier blinked in confusion, ”I’m sorry, who are you?”, Xavier asked. Serenity sighed heavily, ”Look, we don’t have a whole lot of time. My name is Serenity and this is a friend of mine Zacael, he speaks of events that will lead to the future. I’m afraid that your friend will be physically unable to help, he’s already been taken by Queen Fate”, she explained. Xavier’s jaw nearly dropped to the floor, ”You can’t be serious! Are you?!”, he stuttered. ”No, t-this can’t be! How’d this queen take out Syn of all Pokémon?! It just doesn’t make sense”, he thought.

He looked back at the Blissey, ”Serenity, I think it’s time to know who this Queen Fate is. I’m tired of running, I’m ready to face whatever’s up ahead”, he said bravely. Serenity only gave him a sad expression in response and looked at Zacael.

darkruby15 - February 13, 2012 11:38 PM (GMT)
Rani bit back guilt from Xavier’s reassurance about Syn helping them. Rani felt so much pain from trying to evolve. She kne evolving was the end for them. And maybe she had wanted it so Syn would move on without her. But evolving into the thing that he despised…Rani had to admit that was so low that Darkrai had nothing on that. Hurt, she turned away from her and ran her claw gently over the surfboard.

”Look, we don’t have a whole lot of time. My name is Serenity and this is a friend of mine Zacael, he speaks of events that will lead to the future. I’m afraid that your friend will be physically unable to help, he’s already been taken by Queen Fate”, the Blissey made brief inductions, nonverbally stating how pressed for time there were. Apparently the fact that she hadn’t tried to kill them yet served as a symbol to show that she meant no harm and therefore could be trusted.

”You can’t be serious! Are you?!”, Xavier demanded as Rani swallowed to avoid a sound of terror from radiating out of her throat. Syn, her hero…how could he get taken?! Raneeta felt worry weigh her feelings down. Oh god, what was she going to do? Razel had always been good with the plans. Syn was the one that executed them with great precision. Sitara was the one that backed Syn up. Amrita was the newest addition and has shown interest in providing back up. But what did she do? She was the one that always stood back.

“Oh god Syn,” Rani muttered almost fainting because of the possibilities that ran to the Sneasel’s head. “You said he was psychically unable to help…that means he went down fighting, r-r-right?” she asked. What if he walked into a trap or done something to get on the queen’s bad side?

”Serenity, I think it’s time to know who this Queen Fate is. I’m tired of running; I’m ready to face whatever’s up ahead,” Xavier said as Serenity turned to the tiny Natu for explanations.

“Answers? Answers are not given, they must be learned. I do not see answers only events. The outcome is yours and yours only,” Zacael explained without preamble. He seemed to talk in verses and in riddles. “The one you speak of, the one who wants to erase you existence, is a manipulator. She sees power and gains not feelings or emotions. She loves only one. One soul can tame her. But that soul belongs to someone else. She tracks you both for different reason. One is for jealously, the other for her heart. Dark, Bug and Ice, a mixture of types is walk will defeat her. But only when her heart betrays her. If one and one equals two then in her case it must equal three for a victory.” Zacael looked at Rani with sad, knowledge filled eyes but turning to Xavier with sad eyes. “The saddest has just begun. A butterfly has her wings clips with obsession. A thief has his soul stolen. Crimes of passion. Crimes of love. Who knows what is right and what is wrong?”

A butterfly has her wings clips with obsession. A thief has his soul stolen. Crimes of passion. Crimes of love. Who knows what is right and what is wrong?”, Zacael explained in his cryptic language.

Xavier frowned, what the heck was this bird saying. The part about a butterfly getting her wings clipped was what bothered him the most. Serenity seemed to sense his confusion and elaborated, ”What I believe he means is that this Queen Fate uses Pokémon for her own sinister purposes, she is struck with jealously aimed towards Rani and hatred towards another Pokémon, Fate wants one to die and the other to suffer. It’s up to the two of you to put a stop to this madness. And I’m afraid that your lives will be in danger from here on out, Fate will not stop hunting you two”, she explained. Xavier could feel his heart pounding, he was starting to feel scared… not just for him, but for everyone involved. Rani, Syn, himself…. But was Annabelle somehow being attacked too?! The thought made Xavier panic inside, ”Annabelle?! Please for the love of Arceus, please don’t be in trouble!”, he silently prayed. He quickly recalled how she left the park a few months ago and would be safe with those Kanto loving Pokémon; still he couldn’t help but feel worried.” You said he was psychically unable to help…that means he went down fighting, r-r-right?”, Rani asked. Serenity looked away for a short period of time before answering, ”From what I’ve heard, Syn was attacked by an army of Fate’s mindless minions, but he was eventually taken down by Fate herself. I’m afraid that there was nothing we could do, be wary, the next time you see him, he might not act like himself”, she warned.

”What?! H-How can we stop Fate?! If she managed to take down Syn then-“, he began fighting back tears. This was a fear that was shaking his very core, how could he take on someone that seemed so powerful. He tried to desperately hold on to some form of hope that was slipping from his hands. Serenity placed her hand on the Ledian’s shoulder, ”Xavier, the challenge will be difficult and there’s no telling what will happen. That doesn’t mean that I can’t give you some assistance in the form of a gift”, she said as she handed him a small messenger bag. He realized that it was his mail bag that he used when he worked for his trainer, he opened it and found a wide assortment of berries, seeds and a couple of soft boiled eggs wrapped up carefully that prevented any damage. She shook her head, ”This is all I can do I’m afraid, but I must mention this to you, don’t you ever give up hope. More is at stake here, many lives rest in both your and Rani’s capable hands… and you need to give it your all”, she paused before continuing, ”Also, I feel the need to inform you that Annabelle is in the park searching for you”, she said. Xavier froze at the words.

”W-What?!”, he shouted. He grabbed the Blissey by the shoulders, ”You mean to tell me that the love of my life is in this crazy park with a deranged self-crowned queen in it that’s targeting me?!”, he continued, his voice shaking. The Blissey sadly nodded her head, further confirming his fears. He released Serenity from his grasp and tried to keep himself steady. The Blissey walked towards Rani calmly, ”From what I can gather, you must be Rani. I’m afraid to tell you that it’s your life that’s in the most danger, don’t give Fate the chance to end you, because believe me…. She won’t hesitate”, she said gravely. "You're going to need to keep your mind sharp and avoid distractions until Syn is freed from Fate's influence. I have a few items for you to use as you please, they have unusual properties that will make them useful", she added. She pulled out a Heal Ribbon, which would allow the wearer to regain health quickly, a Patsy Band, which increased the chance for critical hits, and an Enigma Berry, that would restore health if the holder is hit with a super-effective move. "I hope that these aid you in your journey", she added.

Xavier picked up his messenger bag and turned to Rani, ”W-We need to keep moving or else those Yamask will find us again. Thank you Serenity, thank you Zacael”, he said. He turned to Rani, "And don't worry Rani, I won't let Fate put a single hand on you so long as I'm around! We'll take her down and help Syn in no time", he reassured her, despite his own fears. Serenity nodded her head, ”We will all meet again, before your final faceoff with Fate. Good luck you two!”, she said as she began to turn away towards the forest.

”From what I’ve heard, Syn was attacked by an army of Fate’s mindless minions, but he was eventually taken down by Fate herself. I’m afraid that there was nothing we could do, be wary, the next time you see him, he might not act like himself.” Serenity informed Rani of the circumstances that surround Syn capture. Rani almost fainted away and dropped like a stone. She knew her heart was pounding in a combination of fear and worry. He might not act like himself, Rani recalled Serenity words with confusion. Will he declare is love for me, Rani wondered with a bitter sense of hurt, or will he try to kill us?

"You're going to need to keep your mind sharp and avoid distractions until Syn is freed from Fate's influence. I have a few items for you to use as you please, they have unusual properties that will make them useful", Serenity said giving her some item. Rani smiled with a pained effort. Syn wasn’t safe, how was she supposed to not be distracted by the possible danger Syn was out. She heard Serenity’s parting word to her.

“I hope it doesn’t come to that but I will be grateful for these items if the need arises,” Rani told Serenity politely. She placed the bows on her head, just below her yellow feather. The bows were on top of each other and gave her an angelic quality. The berry she tucked away as she turned to address Xavier, who had received a messenger bag with-no doubt- helpful items that could possibility save their life.

”We will all meet again, before your final faceoff with Fate. Good luck you two!”, Serenity bid them farewell. Rani had a feeling that the Blissey would make a great friend. She wished that they had met under not-dire circumstance. Rani nodded to Xavier. Keep going where? Rani wondered.

“Wait…” Zacael said the most none cryptic thing he has spoken since meeting them, “ The most challenging journey is the one where the outcome is already known. Serenity said you two must be heroes. But how can one be a hero? By choosing a pacifistic demeanor that encourages fleeing? I do not think you will survive this challenge. Prove me wrong and the world’s happiness is your own. Like I’ve said, I do not see answers only events. The outcome is yours and yours only. Best of luck.” Zacael said glancing around to give them something to aid them on their journey, pulled out a TM Toxic. He hopped towards them and handed the TM to Rani. “Here Toxic should be of help. If you can stall her long enough for Toxic to cause her to faint, then you may have a chance,” Zacael façade of cryptic messages seem to have slipped causing a bunch of glances from the other, “Hey, I only get all cryptic when telling the future. Fate also has a weakness for rocks through at her face. Trust me, I’ve done it before. So aim well and pick up a brick and knock that tyrant out.”

Rani waves to the group as the distance between them grew to a greater measurement. Glancing around, she assumed their first order of business was to find Annabelle. “We should find Annabelle. She isn’t safe by herself. We may not be safe at all but at least we have numbers. Xavier, I do have something to tell you. I can’t start fights with anyone. I fear this might lead to our demise. I just can’t instigate anything.” Rani told him as after they walked for some time.

By choosing a pacifistic demeanor that encourages fleeing? I do not think you will survive this challenge. Prove me wrong and the world’s happiness is your own. Like I’ve said, I do not see answers only events. The outcome is yours and yours only. Best of luck.” , the bird paused, he then pulled out a TM Toxic., which would no doubt be useful. He hopped towards them and handed the TM to Rani. “Here Toxic should be of help. If you can stall her long enough for Toxic to cause her to faint, then you may have a chance,” Zacael seemed to have lost his cryptic appearance, which made Xavier wonder if it was just some kind of act,“Hey, I only get all cryptic when telling the future. Fate also has a weakness for rocks through at her face. Trust me, I’ve done it before. So aim well and pick up a brick and knock that tyrant out”, he instructed.

Xavier gazed at the TM in Rani’s hand before grinning,”Well, we certainly appreciate the help Zacael, Arceus knows that we’ll need it.”, he answered cheerfully. As both Serenity and Zacael faded away in the distance, Xavier’s positive appearance failed him. He covered his eyes with his hands and shuttered a little bit, he just knew that things were only going to get a whole lot worse from here on out, and it didn’t help knowing that Annabelle was being targeted by Fate. The wind howled quietly, causing the Ledian to turn his attention to the current situation. He tried to hide his anxiety from Rani, she needed to know that he was reliable and he was going to prove himself.

The two Pokémon walked in silence for a while and soon ended up in the woods, the same one where he was attacked and met Annabelle; he began straining to listen for any sounds since he recalled the last time he wandered in the forest. “We should find Annabelle. She isn’t safe by herself. We may not be safe at all but at least we have numbers”, Rani said, trying to break the quiet. Xavier’s face turned pink, he was just so unsure about what to do… if Alex were here; she’d know what to do. ”Y-Yeah, you’re right Rani…let’s get on that soon, I think I still remember where she used to live. Hopefully she’s there and we can join up”, he replied. Rani quickly wanted to inform Xavier of something about her as well, ”Xavier, I do have something to tell you. I can’t start fights with anyone. I fear this might lead to our demise. I just can’t instigate anything”, she added. He gave her a weak smile, ”Hey that’s okay, there’s nothing wrong with not enjoying fighting with others. I’m sort of the same way, hopefully we can reason with this Fate, but if not… I won’t let her get anywhere near you! Not while I’m still standing”, he reassured.

Suddenly, a nearby bush began to shake causing Xavier to leap towards it, standing in front of Rani to shield her from any possible danger. A familiar face popped out of the bush, ”Oh, it’s just you guys. Thanks goodness, I feared that you were that Fate that I’ve heard so much about.”, Annabelle said cheerfully. Xavier dropped his defenses, flat out surprised to have found the love of his life so easily, ”A-Annabelle… I’m so glad to see that you’re safe”, he said, fighting back tears of joy. The Butterfree floated towards the two Pokémon, and she hugged Xavier, ”And I’m glad to see that you’re safe too Xavier”, she replied happily. She turned to Rani and smiled, ”And I’m ever so happy to see that Fate hasn’t reached you yet Rani, I’d be so upset if you were hurt by this tyrant”, she added. She crossed her arms, ”But man, I leave the park for a few months and things end up going crazy”, she said. Xavier quickly recalled that detail and was quick to question his love’s sudden return, ”Um, speaking of that… why did you come back Annabelle. I mean, as much as I love your company it’s clearly not safe for you to be here with Fate on the loose”, he said. Annabelle gave him a rather teary eyed look before responding, I-I’m sorry Xavier, I j-just wanted to keep my friends safe from harm. I received a vision about a week ago… and it wasn’t very pretty. H-How could I live with myself if I just stood by while the people I care about got seriously hurt??”, she replied, her voice shaking. Xavier quickly flew beside her to comfort her, but he couldn’t help but wonder how Annabelle was able to get a ‘vision’ of what would come…..

-------x--------

As this was going on, two Pokémon watched from a distance trying to figure out what was going on with these strangers in the woods, ”Oh-! C-Could that be him Bruce? Oh please let that be him!”, one of the onlookers whispered excitedly. Her companion sighed heavily, ”You can’t go around assuming that every Ledyba and Ledian is our missing friend. It’s been years since he lured that bird away from us, for all we know he could be-“, he began. But the girl stubbornly interrupted, ”NO! Don’t think like that!! He’s alive, I know it… and we’ll find him one of these days, so please don’t be so negative”, she replied. The other onlooker gave his friend a sad look before gazing back at the two Pokémon, ”Fine, but first off, we shouldn’t get our hopes up and think that this is the guy. Second, we should wait until we know why they’re here… we’ll follow for a bit longer, but if nothing happens… we leave these two alone”, he instructed. They watched in silence as the Ledian and Sneasel ran into a rather emotional Butterfree. Hopefully things wouldn’t take a turn for the worse, the woods have gotten crazier recently.

”Hey that’s okay, there’s nothing wrong with not enjoying fighting with others. I’m sort of the same way, hopefully we can reason with this Fate, but if not… I won’t let her get anywhere near you! Not while I’m still standing”, Xavier reassured Rani which had the opposite effect on her. Fate didn’t seem to the type to negotiate terms with anyone. Rani highly doubt that this dispute –which was an understatement- could be settled without violence. However, it did bring a smile, a forced one but one nonetheless, to her eyes and mouth in one fail swoop.

“Oh Xavier, I’m must attract all the heroic types or something,” Rani teased him as they walked a bit further. “Everyone finds it necessary to defend me but I can hold my own in fights as long someone else tries to hit me first.” Rani gave him a small laugh as she pranced a bit away from him. She never seemed to notice the fact that everyone she considered her friend would always try to protect her. Rani heard a rustling in the bush and Xavier leaped to place himself in between her and the newest person trying to kill them.

”Oh, it’s just you guys. Thanks goodness, I feared that you were that Fate that I’ve heard so much about.” A Butterfree exclaimed as she Rani glanced at the wave of emotion that rolled though Xavier’s face. Smiling, a bit bittersweet at this reunion. When was her love of her life going to appear? Was he off in some other Sneasel’s cave? Rani slid a bit to the side allowing Xavier to manage a reply. Aww, poor guy, Rani thought with a wave of happiness, he must be trying to impress her or something. ”And I’m ever so happy to see that Fate hasn’t reached you yet Rani, I’d be so upset if you were hurt by this tyrant.”

Rani nodded in agreement. It seemed that this tyrant had a huge grudge against the shiny Sneasel and it only caused more uneasiness to roll through her. “I’m so happy that you’re safe Annabelle. I ran into your friend Xavier and he was everything you described and more! He was so brave when this army of Yamask attacked us. Unlike me, he stood his ground.” Rani told Annabelle with a wink directed at Xavier. These two had a future together, Rani was so sure of this. “Tell me about it! It seemed this place has become Darkrai’s home away from home with all the mass murderers running free.”

Rani heard the hurt in Annabelle’s voice. Sure, she had left Syn to fend for himself when those gangs of Weaviles attack them for accidently going their territory. It wasn’t even his fault but hers. She had wanted to go and he warned her, but still they ended up there. H-How could I live with myself if I just stood by while the people I care about got seriously hurt? Annabelle had asked and Rani knew the answer to that all too well. “Have you run into Fate’s goons? I would think your friends are organized enough to deal with this. Besides it seems like the other generation of Pokemon wouldn’t even be welcomed in that area so I’m sure that they are okay...Annabelle so were you going to see your friends?” Rani inquired maybe if she could rally their support they could have someone dealt with Fate’s massive army. “I would be happy to go with you if you want to make sure they are okay. Xavier, what about you?”*-

*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*

Syn had no idea how much time had passed while he spent in Fate’s company. She had taken a scary liking to him. It was even a bit too fast for the reckless Sneasel. His head ached and he barely knew where he was. Alone. He was terribly alone. The loneliness was something that ate at him constantly and even Fate’s company –if Syn even wanted to admit that any time with her was pleasant- didn’t do anything to curb it. Maybe he should stop avoiding Razel and Sitara…and especially Rani.

The thought of the shiny Sneasel brought pain to the Sneasel head. Images of her attacking his home and his plushies. The pain was so intense that it caused Syn to fall to the ground. Glancing up he saw a small group of Pokemon huddled together. A Ledian was comforting a Butterfree and the other looked just like Rani.

“Oh Xavier, I’m must attract all the heroic types or something,” He heard the Sneasel say sometime before. IT JUST COULDN'T BE, Syn denied as he slowly put the pieces together. What as Rani doing here?! And NOW of all times? Syn wondered as he tried to move but pain shot though him.

Syn, sweetheart, are you okay? I feel your pain. Tell me what’s wrong. I’m coming to get you. This is such a fun game of tag! Well, until you got hurtFate thought in the Sneasel’s head. Syn’s gazed became blurry and the only thought left in his head was that he needed to run and warm these people. Oh Syn-ny, I’m not that far! Maybe we can go surfing together. Syn tried to get up but couldn’t. He wouldn’t be surprised if Fate had Psychic held him to the ground. He made muffled noises hoping that one of them would hear.

He HAD to warn Raneeta. If it was the last damned thing he did, so be it.

“I’m so happy that you’re safe Annabelle. I ran into your friend Xavier and he was everything you described and more! He was so brave when this army of Yamask attacked us. Unlike me, he stood his ground.”, Rani said as she gave a wink to Xavier. Annabelle looked at him with sheer amazement in her eyes, ”R-Really?! Oh my, Xavier I can’t believe how brave you are. Thank you for helping Rani out!”, she said happily, kissing Xavier on the check. The Ledian’s face turned a bright pink color and he slunk to the ground as if he were melting. ”Um, are you okay Xavier, sweetie?”, the Butterfree asked. Xavier’s legs felt like jelly, and he couldn’t even get back on his own two legs. Annabelle floated beside him, ”Hmm, maybe another kiss will help you!”, she giggled. She kissed him on the forehead causing Xavier’s wings to suddenly flutter and pull him off the ground. He tried desperately to hide his pink cheeks as subtlety as possible, he cleared his throat, ”Ahem, w-well then. We should probably keep moving, it’s only a matter of time before Fate and her minions find us again… and I’d like to be as far away from this forest as physically possible”, he said.

“Have you run into Fate’s goons? I would think your friends are organized enough to deal with this. Besides it seems like the other generation of Pokémon wouldn’t even be welcomed in that area so I’m sure that they are okay...Annabelle so were you going to see your friends?”, Rani suggested. Annabelle stifled a cry, ”Oh well about that, um… there were some complications and-“, she began. She gazed at the ground, a small stream of tears falling from her face, ”I kind of got separated from my group, and besides, they’re not really all that friendly towards Pokémon that don’t originate from Kanto. When they heard that I liked Xavier, most of them disowned me. The few that were still my friends came with me here, but we were attacked by a vicious pack of Pawniard and we got separated. I tried to look for them, but then I was chased and- I didn’t know what to do, so I hid in the bushes”, she wept sadly, ”That’s when I heard the mean Pokémon say that they were targeting me and- I was so scared!! I couldn’t help my friends and all I could do was hide like a coward! I’m such a horrible Pokémon, I can’t believe that I ended up doing that”, she said. She was crying miserably now, her tears just pouring out like a river. Xavier moved close beside her and held her close to him, ”Please don’t cry Annabelle, I promise you… we’ll find your friends and I will make Fate pay for attacking both you and Rani”, he told her.

As much as the Butterfree tried, she just couldn’t stop crying. She had never felt this scared before in her entire life, first she was disowned and now she was being attacked by Pokémon she had never met before. Xavier was her only comfort at the time, and she was glad to be with her friend Rani as well. ”Xavier, I’m so pathetic. How am I-?”, she began. ”You’re not pathetic. Don’t let anyone tell you different”, Xavier interrupted. Annabelle wiped her tears away, ”Thank you Xavier, you’re always so nice to me”, she whimpered, hugging the insect tighter.
----------------X----------------------

The two Pokémon that watched were surprised when the Butterfree burst into tears, but they were too far away to hear a reason why. ”Um, is that a good enough reason to step in Bruce?”, the girl asked. The other seemed to be lost in thought, ”I dunno, I’d hate to get involved in their personal business… but I suppose that it doesn’t hurt to ask. Just let me do all the talking”, he replied. He quickly noticed a normal colored Sneasel struggling for some unknown reason. ”Hang on a sec though, let’s see if this guy is okay first”, he added. The duo walked over to the Sneasel, the Heracross and Jumpluff remained cautious, fearing that he was one of the many Pokémon falling under Fate’s influence, ”Um, excuse me mister but, are you okay?”, the Jumpluff asked. The Heracross move his companion aside, ”Stand back Sadie, let me handle this”, he instructed, ”Hey, I hate to intrude and bother you but, do you need assistance? Perhaps I could ask that group of Pokémon over there for some additional help?”, he suggested.

darkruby15 - February 26, 2012 11:41 PM (GMT)
Rani laughed softly enjoying Annabelle display of affection. They were so cute, Raneeta thought as a wave of loneliness surged through her. Syn would never, ever, ever show any type of feeling except betrayal and indifference. Then again, she didn’t care if he didn’t love her…she just wanted him to forgive her. Xavier’s change of subject from Annabelle mauling of affections to the business at hand was more than amusing. However, Annabelle’s distressed made Rani feel sad. She was going to speak up, but decided against it. Xavier is the better person to comfort her.

Razel once told her that she was about the same as Syn. He said –in Hemming’s freezer – that Syn had his own reasons for doing what he does and that one shouldn’t expect to change him. Raneta hadn’t taken his advice to heart when he said it. She understood it now. Now being a bit too late. Sitara had agreed with Razel, even though the Dragonair almost never agreed with the Starmie.

”Please don’t cry Annabelle, I promise you… we’ll find your friends and I will make Fate pay for attacking both you and Rani”, she snapped her attention back to Xaiver at the mention of her name. She hadn’t been paying total attention because want was said between those two should stay between those too. She gave them both a warm smile.

“Xavier, revenge isn’t the best idea. Perhaps Fate has her own reasons. Twisted and deemed wrong by us…it may be but to her, she might be doing the right thing. I’m glad though that we are all together and that we can protect each other.” Rani told Xavier, her eyes clouding with doubt. Syn accused her-on many occasions- of being to compassionate and when it came down to doing what had to be done, she would failed.

She noticed a duo down the river, not that far from them talking to a Sneasel. Wary of any new company, because seeing anyone unfamiliar when there are so many Pokemon trying to kill them. Were they a part of Fate’s army? “Umm guys? Who are those Pokemon down there?” Rani asked point at the duo.

Syn came to the realization that Rani was still a Sneasel. Holy Arceus, Syn thought momentarily forgetting about Fate. His prayer had been answered. Trying to move, he shuffled some foliage underneath his Psychic clamped state.

Syn? Why do think of her? I think we have been though this a thousand times. SHE DOESN’T LOVE YOU LIKE HOW I LOVE YOU. Fate thought into his head causing him to break his silence.

Fate, for the last flippin time, Rani is someone I care about. And I DON’T LOVE YOU. Syn retorted with a bitter hiss leaving his mouth.

”Hey, I hate to intrude and bother you but, do you need assistance? Perhaps I could ask that group of Pokémon over there for some additional help?”, One of this tandem that approached him asked.

“Would you do that? I would be very grateful if you did that. There is a psychopathic bitch that is after me and I need to warm them,” Syn told them as he moaned into the ground feeling a wave of nausea roll through him.

SapphireChao15 - February 27, 2012 09:17 PM (GMT)
”Xavier, revenge isn’t the best idea. Perhaps Fate has her own reasons. Twisted and deemed wrong by us… it may be, but to her, she might be doing the right thing. I’m glad that we are all together and that we can protect each other”, Rani rationalized to Xavier. The Ledian was fighting back his own tears, ”But, she- I mean how-“, he tried to say, but he realized that his own anger was clouding his thoughts. He held Annabelle closer and took a deep breath, he was really starting to hate Fate for causing all these things, but he knew that there was some truth to Rani’s words, ”Y-Yeah, you’re right Rani. I don’t know what came over me, and vengeance isn’t the answer… thanks for reminding me of that”, he said to her.

He tried to calm down, but his emotions were swirling around uncontrollably inside him. Feelings like anger, fear, hopeless, and anxiety were trying to overpower the insect… and none of the emotions were the right ones to have in a situation like this. ”Umm guys? Who are those Pokémon done there?”, Rani asked. Xavier and Annabelle looked in the direction that the shiny Sneasel was looking in and saw three Pokémon crowded together near a river, ”Not sure, Annabelle are they friends of yours?”, he asked her. Annabelle shook her head, ”No, I’ve never seen those characters before. Xavier, they don’t appear to be hostile”, she replied. Xavier frowned, ”Well, I’m not taking any chances. Annabelle, stay here… I need to check this out”, he said but Annabelle quickly grabbed his arm, ”No Xavier, they aren’t bothering us. Can’t we just leave them alone, please?”, she begged him. Xavier shook his head angrily, ”Sorry Annabelle, but I can’t. They could be spying on us, and I won’t risk putting you or Rani in harm’s way”, he said before walking towards the newcomers.

-------------X---------------

Bruce and Sadie looked at each other in confusion when the Sneasel hissed something to himself, though he seemed thankful about the help they were offering. ”Would you do that? I would be grateful if you did that, there is a psychopathic bitch that is after me and I need to warn them”, he replied. Bruce paused, ”A psycho, huh? I wonder if he’s referring to Fate.”, he thought quietly. Sadie gasped quietly when the Sneasel fell to the ground, and Bruce was quick to help him back up. The Jumpluff turned away and watched as Xavier made his way over to the group. Bruce grinned, ”Well, it looks like they’re making their way over here as we speak”, he said cheerfully. Sadie giggled, ”Can I go talk to the Ledian now? Please Bruce, please?”, she begged him. The Heracross sighed, ”Fine, just don’t get all up in his face like you have a habit of doing with every other Ledyba and Ledian we come across, okay?”, he replied.

The Jumpluff nodded her head happily and skpped over to Xavier, the insect frowned at her though and crossed his arms. ”Hey what are you doing, where you following us around?”, he asked, sounding slightly annoyed. Sadie floated up close to Xavier’s face and gazed into his eyes before returning to the ground, ”Um, yeah we were…. But only because I wanted to ask you a question. Though I guess that that’s unimportant right now, you see, that Sneasel over there looks sick and he seems to recognize you or something”, she responded pointing back at Syn. Xavier looked above her and saw Syn, who indeed looked ill.

Xavier quickly sighed, ”Look, sorry for snapping at you. So I take it that you’re not working for Fate?”, he asked. The cottonweed Pokémon merely shook her head, ”No, why would we work for such a crazy? Would you mind talking to that Sneasel? He seems to have something important to tell you and your friends”, she replied. Xavier nodded his head and made his way to the other two Pokémon. The Heracross gave him a warm smile, and Xavier turned his attention to the Sneasel that he easily recognized as Syn, ”S-Syn? What in the world happened to you?!”, he asked.

darkruby15 - February 27, 2012 11:20 PM (GMT)
”Sorry Annabelle, but I can’t. They could be spying on us, and I won’t risk putting you or Rani in harm’s way”, Xavier explained to them both before leaving to investigate the group. Rani had also wished that they would leave those two alone. She only pointed them out because she was trying to distract from the emotional conversation that was getting a bit awkward to the third wheel.

“It’s okay,” Rani reassured Annabelle who looked like she had been living off her nerves for about the last week. “I’m sure they mean no harm to Xavier or to us. I think they’ll understand that with Fate running around, that extra precautions must be taken.” She told the Butterfree giving her a warm smile. She wished there was something she could say to make everything bearable for the Butterfree.

Rani felt obligated to rush over to Syn’s side and help him but the lagging guilt that has building up in her. What if he wanted nothing to do with her, Rani thought that as a thousand different scenarios played though her head. They all ended the same for the shiny Sneasel, Syn always throwing all her faults in her face and him leaving her. Dear Arceus, I know that I was wrong. Please help me get through this with breaking his heart anymore. Please. She prayed as tears began obscuring her vision. She drifted towards Syn unaware of Annabelle’s current position. She remained at the edge of the group and the farthest distance from Syn without looking like a weird person.
_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*

”S-Syn? What in the world happened to you?!”, Xavier demanded in a voice that conveyed shock. Hell, even Syn would’ve been shocked if someone told him his future a few weeks ago. The Ledian, his partner when trouble seems to find them, stood and surveyed the battered appearance Syn didn’t even doubt that he reflected. Sleepless nights, horrid psychic attacks, throbbing headaches, and running for one’s life tended not to improve one’s already handsome good looks.

Sitting up, the Sneasel gave the Ledian a wary nod of acknowledgement, as he struggled to find a place to start his story from. “You remember that scizo Frillish, Kai? Well after we all went our separate ways…I heard about a new surfing spot so I went to check it out. I met a Natu…his name isn’t important…was throwing rocks at this depressed Beheeyem. When he saw me, he ran away…or whatever Natu’s do to move away from someone they don’t like. So anyway, this chick was like an emotional wreck. Even more than I am. So she began telling me about her life…” Syn trialed off wondering why he stopped from revealing all this information about her. Apparently he had a heart beneath his daredevil instincts. Things like her trainer was a Team Aqua Admin and she was constantly in danger of getting beat up every second and how his trainer’s wife Pokemon tried to get her released for good. How she didn’t have a friend. How as an Elgyem, other Pokemon used to make fun of her awkward head shape. “And then she ended up falling in love with me –I guess- and now she wants me to be with her. Does it look like I want to settle down? I’m too young to have psychic Sneasels or dark Elgyem children. SHE HAS MY GRAND-SNEASELS NAMES PICKED UP AND WHEN THEY’LL START TO HATCH ALREADY PLANNED OUT. She puts the psycho into the psychopathic. She doesn’t understand that I DON’T SHARE HER DREAMS FOR THE FURTURE,” Syn told them with a bitter laugh at the end of his rant. He glanced over to Rani who seemed to be almost in tears as he ended.

He glanced around at the group that has assembled around him wondering when Fate was going to invade his thoughts again. He stood up and glanced at Rani who surprised him by not mauling with a hug and it hurt. It hurt. “Fate is after me. Do all you understand? All you are in danger the longer you are in my presence. I don’t want to be responsible for any injuries you end up with. I may have suicidal tendencies but they are mine and I won’t put you guys in danger. Fate is looking for me right now. She is not that far. You guys need to get the hell outta here,” Syn told them noticing how Rani was swaying a bit on her feet. “Rani?” Syn moved closer to the shiny Sneasel as she collapsed into him. He barely kept his footing and was managed to catch her. “Rani!” Syn called out as she was passed out cold.

I understand you, Syn. You have an extreme dislike for her. I can tell. You can lie to yourself but you can’t lie to me. Fate hissed into his head. Syn wanted to cry as he held Rani glancing at them all. How dare she hurt Raneeta! “Xavier, you guys! Look! It’s a section of Fate’s army!”

SapphireChao15 - February 28, 2012 02:54 AM (GMT)
“It’s okay, I’m sure they mean no harm to Xavier or to us. I think they’ll understand that with Fate running around, that extra precautions must be taken”, Rani reassured. Annabelle could hardly keep her emotions contained, she was so frightened and she couldn't bare the thought of Xavier getting himself hurt. She covered her eyes and tried desperately to not cry, she had to be strong in front of Xavier. "R-Rani, I wish that I could relax.. but Xavier never seems to think things through before jumping into conflict. I'm afraid that he's going to do something to get himself seriously hurt, and I don't know what I'll do if something happens to him", she said sadly. She remembered all the stories that Xavier had told her about how his recklessness caused him nothing but trouble, and she was terrified of being alone in the world without her beloved.
--------------X--------------

Xavier listened to Syn’s tale, trying desperately to hide his horror. “Fate is after me. Do all you understand? All you are in danger the longer you are in my presence. I don’t want to be responsible for any injuries you end up with. I may have suicidal tendencies but they are mine and I won’t put you guys in danger. Fate is looking for me right now. She is not that far. You guys need to get the hell outta here,” he warned. Xavier shook his head angrily, ”N-No! I won’t leave you Syn, besides, Fate is targeting Rani and Annabelle too! I can’t just leave you behind! , he demanded. He dug into his messenger bag and pulled out a fresh Sitrus Berry, ”Here, take this Syn. You’ll need to be at your full strength if we’re going to stop Fate from attacking the ones we care about”, he added putting the berry in the Sneasel’s hand. He clenched his fists angrily, there was no way he was going to leave anyone behind. The Heracross chose now to talk, ”So, I take it that you’re trying to take down Fate huh? Well, I’d be more than willing to offer my services to you, I’m always looking for a reason to help someone else out”, he said proudly. His Jumpluff companion hopped over beside him, ”H-Hey now, I can help too! I know how to handle myself in a battle as well!”, she added happily. Annabelle flew beside her love, ”Xavier, I think that we could let these two kind Pokémon help us out, we are facing difficult odds here”, she said quietly. The Ledian nodded his head in silence, he knew that he was going to need as much help as he could get.

Suddenly, Syn made a dash past the other Pokémon and towards Rani who was falling over, managing to catch her before she hit the ground. ”RANI!!”, Annabelle gasped in horror. The rest of the Pokémon ran over to Syn and Rani, it had appeared that the pink Sneasel had fainted for reasons unknown… was Fate the cause? Xavier glared angrily at the ground, he was determined to protect everyone as best as he could. Syn quickly warned the group, ”Xavier, you guys! Look! It’s a section of Fate’s army!”, he shouted. A loud laughter filled the air, and sure enough, a few of Fate’s minions had arrived. The ground shook only for a moment, when suddenly a large Excadrill shot up out of the ground a few feet away from the others. He only grinned and looked behind him, bringing a Sesmitoad’s arrival to attention. The wind howled ominously, there was a third player hiding in the trees somewhere.

The team of Pokémon grouped together to prepare for an attack, the trees were cracking all around them as another villainous Pokémon was leaping around them through the trees. A single String Shot was fired directly at Syn and Rani, but the Heracross quickly slashed at it, causing it to disintegrate into nothing. Xavier’s heart was pounding, it couldn’t be-! He held Annabelle in his arms defensively; he wasn’t going to let them lay a single hand on her. She was whimpering as she shivered uncontrollably. ”Well, if it isn’t all of Fate’s targets, all together and ready to be delivered to her”, the Sesmitoad mocked. He let out a laugh, Xavier was prepared for these guys… he wasn’t going to fail his team. The toad Pokémon took a few steps towards the group, he was eyeing Annabelle with excitement which really ticked off Xavier. ”So, this is that little butterfly that’s annoying our Queen! Hmph, and what are you supposed to be, her red knight in shining armor?”, he taunted. Xavier ignored the taunt, as much as he wanted to face this guy off, he wasn’t going to leave Annabelle by herself. The Heracross was quick to respond back, ”Hey, leave them alone! I suggest that you pick on someone your own size!”, he shouted.

Now it was the Excadrill’s turn to talk, ”Hah! Or what, you’ll make us leave!? Don’t think that you and your little friend are getting off free, Bruce. Queen Fate is curious to know how you’re blocking her mind control powers”, he warned evilly. That seemed to silence the beetle, who looked at his smaller friend with a concerned look on his face. Xavier glared angrily at the attackers, ”B-Bruce?”, he began, ”Please, look out for Annabelle”, he said quietly. Bruce looked at him confused, ”What are you-?”, he began before having Annabelle shoved in his arms, the Butterfree freaked out at her love’s actions, ”XAVIER!”, she shouted back. The Ledian had tossed his messenger bag on the ground and was making a dash at the Sesmitoad, who only grinned at the insect’s foolishness. Xavier fired a Psybeam at his opponent, and the toad didn’t even try to dodge the attack. The psychic attack barely fazed him and he fired a Supersonic attack at him. The Ledian dodged the attack, but was left open to the Excadrill’s Slash attack, knocking him backwards.

He took a direct hit to the chest and could barely stand, the Sesmitoad merely laughed, ”Hehe, so I take it that you’re Xavier then? Queen Fate did mention something about a hardheaded Ledian… who just so happens to have a distinct fear…”, he said menacingly. Xavier widened his eyes in terror, ”Y-You don’t mean-?!”, he gulped. Something large jumped from the trees and landed behind him with a loud thud, Xavier’s body felt numb and he took a step forward before turning around to see the terrifying face of an unusually large Galvantula. Xavier fell backwards and quickly froze at the sight of the monster, ”Heh, well hello there insect”, he said in a cold, mocking tone. Xavier’s face was turning pale, he moved back just a little more when the Sesmitoad burst out laughing, ”What’s the matter Xavier, what happened to that courage and sheer determination of yours? Don’t tell me that you’re afraid of a single spider” he teased cruelly. "XAVIER!!", Annabelle called out desperately, praying to Arceus that no harm would come to her true love.

”Here, take this Syn. You’ll need to be at your full strength if we’re going to stop Fate from attacking the ones we care about”, Xavier told him while Syn balanced Rani in one arm and receiving the berry in the other. Despite his intense focus and narrow mindedness on Raneeta, he understood that the need for thinking beyond this battle to the war.

“Thank you Xavier,” Syn said absently, his mind and gaze drifted back to Rani. He wondered what Fate had done to her. “I understand not wanting to leave a friend behind. Trust me I do. But if worse comes to worst, I want you to take Annabelle and get out of here. “ Syn told the Ledian, hoping that by making it known to the Ledian that he would choose her over him. Fate, what have you done to her?

Why do you care about her?! Fate thundered into Syn’s head. She was pissed at the fact that Syn’s love affair had the audacity to show her face in her Pokepark. Not only to take Syn away from her but to cause havoc on her dictatorship. Fate would not accept this. Syn knew this too. Her clingy possessive behavior had shown it’s ugly face when she thought he rather leave than hear what she had to say. You care about me! Me! As in, drop that bitch and come and play with me. Please Syn. You know I don’t have anyone else to play with. And if you’re aren’t there that mean birdie is going throw rocks at me again. Do you want that?

Syn didn’t care enough about his surrounds to pay attention to what was going on. He saw from his peripheral vision that the Heracross has destroyed an attack that was aimed in the general direction of Rani and him. Still holding onto Rani for dear life with on hand, he nibbled on the Sitrus berry before shoving pieces into Rani’s mouth. Rani had stirred a few seconds ago, giving the Sneasel hope that maybe she hadn’t fainted completely. “Rani,” Syn whispered close to the shiny Sneasel’s ear. He was leaning down, using his slender form to protect her from the battle raging around them. He smiled warmly as he realized that she was stirring a bit more.

Rani opened her eyes slowly; taking in the face that Syn was holding her. He was peered at her, a smile across his face. And Syn never smiled unless he was going to hurt somebody. That knowledge sent warning bells off as she gathered her strength. She pulled her left hand, since that was the one farthest from Syn and slapped him hard across his face. He was clearly taken back as he dropped her to the ground in before she combat rolled away from him.

“Ow,” he commented stoically, touching the spot where she had slapped him. He looked hurt and confused and it torn at all the heartstring Syn had attached himself too. “What the heck was that for?!” he demanded after a silence passed through them. She took a step backwards and turned to run in the opposite direction. She slid to a stop as she saw Xavier being taunted by Fate’s forces. ”What’s the matter Xavier, what happened to that courage and sheer determination of yours? Don’t tell me that you’re afraid of a single spider!”

Realizing that Xavier had a fear for spiders was one thing, about to run off and leave him was a whole different level of lowness. She took a deep breath and ran back to Syn. The very same Sneasel she had just slapped and was fleeing from, “What happened? Why are all of these Pokemon attacking us? I thought we lost Fate’s army,” She asked Syn who merely shook his head. “Well whatever the case, our problems and issues are going to have to wait for a later time. We need to help Xavier and Annabelle.” Syn nodded in agreement looking partially absentminded.

“Annabelle!” Rani called out who looked like fear had swallowed her whole, “Annabelle!” She ran after the Butterfree, hoping to jar her into action. She saw Annabelle trying to help Xavier but was failing to notice the approaching Pokemon. It had the outline of a Beheeyem and Rani struggled to summon an attack. Rani felt something unseen attach itself to her arm and come from behind and knock her to the ground.

Fate marched through her army in completely anger. By marched, she completed more of a floating mode of transportation that failed to convey her feelings to anyone. She moved towards the Galvantula, anger in her tone of voice when she halted to her movements. “I believe I told you that you were supposed to kidnap Syn! Does that look like a Sneasel to you? If anything, it is a pathetic ladybug that had no relevance to you and your job. YOU WASTE MY TIME WITH YOUR FOOLISH ANTICS. Continue and you’ll end up like that Rufflet. An empty shell. Now go!” she thundered as she glared at the Ledian.

Ah, yes, this would be that same Ledian. The one that gave the Ariados a hard time and had caused Kai to second guess herself. Fate thought as she looked for Syn. He was staring at his Shiny Sneasel friend. Well I can fix that! She thought with a bittersweet smile. She used her Psychic to knock down the shiny Sneasel. Her bug type friend Sleep Powder has failed since she was awake.

“Xavier, isn’t it?” she asked the Ledian who was experiencing the phobia he had acquired from various traumatic scenarios. “Fear of spiders? You really should work on that. Now, step aside and I’ll have some words with your girlfriend.” She gave him an evil look that should invoke a submissive response from her.

SapphireChao15 - March 6, 2012 09:49 PM (GMT)
The Galvantula took another step towards the cowering insect, suddenly pausing when he heard the Annabelle’s cries for her love. The Butterfree flew past the spider and hugged Xavier tightly, fluttering away from the attacker just slightly. She cried into his arms, ”Xavier! Please don’t leave me here!”, she wept miserably. Xavier returned her hug, he tried to act calm and ease his love’s fears, ”I-I’m okay Annabelle, please, you have to flee from here. I won’t let Fate harm you!”, he begged her. The Butterfree shook her head, refusing to leave his side. Neither Pokémon noticed the arrival of a Beheeyem who glared at the Galvantula in sheer anger. The Sesmitoad and Excadrill graciously bowed before their queen, “I believe I told you that you were supposed to kidnap Syn! Does that look like a Sneasel to you? If anything, it is a pathetic ladybug that had no relevance to you and your job. YOU WASTE MY TIME WITH YOUR FOOLISH ANTICS. Continue and you’ll end up like that Rufflet. An empty shell. Now go!”, she yelled.

The Galvantula paused and bowed down as well, ”My sincerest apologies your majesty, I was merely putting this good for nothing insect in his place as he dared to defy your grand ruler ship. I promise you that I will not get distracted in games again ma’am”, he replied calmly. The giant spider Pokémon then obeyed orders and dashed at Syn with intense speed. Xavier managed to get back to his feet, a great weight lifted off his shoulders caused by his phobia, but he was far from safe. Fate quickly turned her attention back on the two insect Pokémon , “Xavier, isn’t it?”, she began with an evil grin spread across her face, “Fear of spiders? You really should work on that. Now, step aside and I’ll have some words with your girlfriend.”, she ordered him. He held Annabelle in his arms again, he wasn’t going to let this crazy Pokémon a step closer, ”Annabelle, get behind me”, he whispered to her. The Butterfree knew that it was in her best interest to listen to the Ledian, she gently floated behind the red insect and tried to hide her tears.

”You must think that I’m crazy or something, there’s no way that I’ll ‘step aside’ and leave Annabelle alone with the likes of you! Why are you targeting her, and Rani as well?!”, he asked the Beheeyem. He was certainly frightened, but how could he just accept the thought that he’d been beaten and that he couldn’t protect the love of his life?!

Bruce and Sadie could only watch in horror as Xavier’s situation was only getting worse and worse in his efforts to protect the others. The Heracross shook his head, ”Xavier?! No, it couldn’t possibly be-“, he thought quietly. Slowly but surely, all the pieces were coming together about his missing friend. Sadie quickly snapped Bruce’s attention back to reality, ”Bruce, look! Annabelle’s running towards that spider!”, she shouted. Bruce quickly realized what was happening, but he froze when none other than Fate arrived on the scene, silencing the laughter of the other two malicious Pokémon. After she thundered her demands of the Galvantula, Bruce was ready for it as it dashed towards Syn who seemed to be in a daze of some kind. The spider leapt in the air, planning to pounce on Syn, however Bruce was fast enough to intercept the Pokémon and used Mega Horn, which knocked the attacker backwards. Once the opponent returned to his feet he glared angrily, ”You have some nerve to interfere with Fate’s orders Bruce! I’ll be sure to pay you back for that!”, he threatened. The Excadrill quickly dug underground, ”Syn! You’re going to have to snap out of it, you and Rani are in danger so long as that mole is underground!”, the Heracross warned sternly.

He looked up and saw that the Sesmitoad was speeding towards them as well, when Sadie floated in front of her companions, ”Let me help too!”, she said eagerly. She floated high in the air and spun around rapidly shooting out several Leech Seeds which then latched onto the towering toad Pokémon. His health was slowly being sucked away and his speed was slowing down. Bruce noticed that Fate was now facing Xavier and Annabelle, who were in hot water now. Angry, Bruce dug into Xavier’s messenger bag for some kind of item that would be useful. He was baffled by the number of large stones that was in the bag, but upon looking at Fate as she drew ever closer to the two helpless insects, the idea seemed like one worth trying. He pulled out the largest stone that he could find in the bag and used Smack Down, chucking the rock as hard as he could in Fate’s direction hoping that with a head as big as hers, he wouldn’t miss.

Syn’s mind struggled to comprehend what just happened. His claw remained paste to the spot Rani had slapped him. The impact site was still stinging and that wasn’t what puzzled him the most. What did was the fact that she attacked him without any catalyst to cause her behavior to take an aggressive turn for the worse. Staring blankly at the scene unraveling before him, Syn was lost in his own thoughts. Why would she even do that? Did things really go to such an extreme end? Were things really that bad? Had he destroy everything between Rani and himself?

”Syn! You’re going to have to snap out of it, you and Rani are in danger so long as that mole is underground!”, one of them warned but Syn felt something grab him from behind. In fact, it dragged him with enough force to cause him to hit a tree and break it in half. He caught a glimpse of Rani on the ground as he tumbled to a stop. A Galvantula hovered over him on one of the many branches that criss-crossed over the clearing Syn had been left. A Jiggypuff hopped over to Syn who had yet to move from his impact position. ”It’s okay! I’ll fix you up in no time at all.” She exclaimed as heart began to circle Syn. Jumping up, he ran only too collided with the spider that spun a web imprisoning him against a tree.

“What the hell?!” Syn demanded as the spider laughed at the Sneasel attempt to try and cut the web holding him. Syn squirmed trying to loosen the web. Rani needed me, he repeated in his mind like his motivation mantra.

The heart began to spin around him and in no time at all, he fell in love. With Fate. Because of Attract. ”Fate is waiting for you,” The Jigglypuff pointed out as the spider released Syn who started to make his way to the love of his life…Fate.

*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*
Fate laughed at the couple standing before her. Xavier’s word had no effect on her except for offering comic distraction and amusement. ”You must think that I’m crazy or something, there’s no way that I’ll ‘step aside’ and leave Annabelle alone with the likes of you! Why are you targeting her, and Rani as well?!” Xavier demanded and Fate let loose an evil laugh.

“Because Rani is trying to steal my man,” she told Xavier, anger dripping in her voice like how water dripped off a leaking gutter in the middle of hurricane. “Why else would she appear in the Poke Park? There is nothing for her here except Syn. AND SYN IS MINE. YOU HEAR THAT BITCH, SYN IS MINE.” She yelled at Rani who had made her way over to Xavier and Annabelle. “But Annabelle…you have it all, friends, family, boyfriends…at least I can take great satisfaction in destroying that. If I can’t be happy then you can’t be either.

Fate was so engrossed in thinking up ways for killing Annabelle she didn’t realized someone had the audacity to attack her. She glanced over and saw rocks aimed at her. Cringing she waited for the impact, her mind to scared to provide any type of shield.

Out of nowhere, she saw Syn jumping in front and destroying the rock attack with a well-placed Metal Claw. He turned to her and offered her a warm smile and Fate caught the surprised look that crossed Rani’s face. ”Are you okay? he asked her. Fate was smiling, not only because Syn had come to his sense –with a little help from Attract- but because Rani looked on the verge of tears. She floated closer to Syn and was happy when he reached out to take her hand in her in his.

Raneeta was about to cry. Seeing Syn be all affectionate with Fate was a lot to take in. Something is wrong. she thought as Syn inserted his slender form between Fate and them. In fact it looked like he was going to attack them. ”Syn? Syn, what are you doing? You wouldn’t attack your friends!” Rani hoped that the reminder would jar him out of this state.

Syn’s claws began to glow, the forewarning of Metal Claw he started approaching Xavier and Annabelle. ” You should have thought of that when you tried Fate’s nerves.” he told them before speeding up to attack Xavier. Rani closed her eyes the second she realized he wasn’t going to stop. Dear Arceus, what can I do? How can I save him from himself? How can I save his future grand-Sneasels. Divine intervention, show yourself!

Rani opened her eyes to see Syn attacking Xavier and Annabelle with a barrage of attacks. Shadow ball, Ice Beam, Metal Claw and Dark Pulse were being used in a variety of combinations. She saw a Shadow Ball directed at her and didn’t make a move to defend her. She was lost somewhere in between disbelief and fear. Syn was way more powerful than she was. The attacked hit her causing her to fly backwards and tumbled onto the ground. She hoped Xavier who flee now.

There was no hope now.

SapphireChao15 - March 8, 2012 03:47 AM (GMT)
Xavier continued to safe guard Annabelle as Fate laughed at them evilly, “Because Rani is trying to steal my man why else would she appear in the Poke Park? There is nothing for her here except Syn. AND SYN IS MINE. YOU HEAR THAT BITCH, SYN IS MINE”, she yelled at Rani. “But Annabelle…you have it all, friends, family, boyfriends…at least I can take great satisfaction in destroying that. If I can’t be happy then you can’t be either”, she explained causing Xavier’s blood to boil. He clenched all four of his fists angrily, ”You, you’re one despicable Pokémon! How dare you talk that way towards Annabelle and Rani!! Ooh, I’ll show you what we insects are best at, especially against Psychic types!”, he declared at the Beheeyem. Xavier was planning to use his Mach Punch attack at Fate, hoping to daze her long enough to get Annabelle and Rani to safety.

The Ledian halted his attack when Syn suddenly intercepted a tossed rock that was aimed at Fate, who seemed to have hearts in his eyes over the Beheeyem, ”S-Syn! What are you doing?!”, the Ledian asked with pure shock on his face. ”Syn? Syn, what are you doing? You wouldn’t attack your friends!”, Rani asked, just as confused as the two bug Pokémon. ” You should have thought of that when you tried Fate’s nerves.”, the love –stricken Sneasel replied before attempting to attack the duo with a Metal Claw attack. Xavier grabbed Annabelle and flew away from the attack, landing beside Rani, Bruce and Sadie. ”Oh dear, this certainly isn’t getting any better. What are we going to do?!”, the Jumpluff asked. She looked and noticed that the group of Pokémon was beginning to get outnumbered and it wouldn’t be long before they fell to Fate and her army.

Bruce quickly sensed movement underground, ”Don’t get too comfortable here, that Excadrill is still lurking beneath us”, Bruce warned. Syn turned towards the group, using all his attacks in combinations, firing an Ice Beam aimed at Annabelle, who was still in shock. Xavier quickly pushed his loved one out of harm’s way and took a direct hit of the attack. He was knocked back against a tree, his body frozen from his chest down and had three of his four arms trapped in ice. A Shadow Ball followed and was about to make impact with the trapped insect when Bruce knocked it aside. This whole ordeal was too much to handle for the beetle, but he refused to let anyone get hurt by Fate anymore. He used Brick Break to crack at the ice that held Xavier to the tree. ”You know, you really need to start thinking before you act. You can’t keep recklessly endangering your life, Annabelle needs you alive if you’re ever going to get through this. I’m doubtful that Fate will be taking any prisoners”, the Heracross said, striking the ice once more.

Meanwhile, Sadie was trying to calm down a hysterical Annabelle, who was crying a river of tears now, ”Fate hates me… because I’m happy?! T-That’s- I mean, how horrible! Xavier, oh how I wish that he’d stop jumping into danger to protect me”, she cried sadly. Sadie tried her best to comfort the Butterfree, realizing that they were still in pretty hectic danger. She turned and saw another Ice Beam heading their way. Annabelle saw this too and began to flap her wings at an incredible pace, her Whirlwind attack slowing down the opposing attacks and some even turned around on Syn and Fate. Sadie and Annabelle quickly turned their attention to Rani, who was knocked back by another one of Syn’s attacks, ”Rani, please get up! We have to s-stop standing around and help the others!”, Annabelle said, wiping her tears away. The Butterfree had to start standing up for herself if she wanted to last much longer in this battle; she began taking deep breaths to compose herself, before glaring at Fate, she couldn’t keep being a helpless damsel while her love only got hurt from protecting her. She took another deep breath and showed determination on her face that she didn’t even know she had, ”Hey listen up Fate! We won’t just sit around and take this complete nonsense from the likes of you!! I refuse to let you hurt my friends, everyone has a right to be at this Pokepark, not just you! You’re reasoning for attacking us is completely stupid and immature, how you dare insult our intelligence with this attack of yours. If you think that I’m going to quietly sit here, watch you and your brainless thugs hurt the ones I care about, and just let you have your way.. well then you have another thing coming!”, she shouted angrily.

The Butterfree paused, she had never spoken up for herself before and she had no idea on how to respond to this sudden rush of adrenaline. She grinned, she was feeling stronger by the moment. ”I couldn’t have said better myself Annabelle, though you should’ve mentioned how you also have a real boyfriend, not one that’s under Attract. Either way, I hope that you’re ready to fight!”, the Jumpluff said happily. She spread her arms out and smiled, using Sunny Day, she called out the sun to reinforce this positive feeling that the group shared. The ground cracked in front of the three female Pokémon, and the accursed Excadrill shot out once more, preparing to attack, ”How dare you talk to Queen Fate in such a tone, you wretched little insect!”, he shouted vengefully.

”Annabelle, Sadie, Rani; step aside!!”, Xavier shouted. He suddenly fired his Solarbeam at the mole, not only knocking him backwards, but also rendering him unconscious. The Excadrill was flung so far back that he collided with the Sesimtoad who was still pulling seeds off himself, making it a double knock out. Bruce was finally able to free the tired Ledian from his icy prison and return him into the arms of a grateful Butterfree, ”T-Thank you Bruce. And thank you Xavier”, Annabelle whispered happily. Xavier smiled, ”You were quite brave my love, I promise… no more recklessness”, he began, ”But this battle is far from over. We’re going to need to get Syn back on our side, we can’t run away from this”, he added. Sadie grabbed Xavier’s messenger bag and handed the Ledian a Sitrus Berry, he happily took a bite and felt his strength return to him. He floated beside Rani and extended his hand to her, ”Come on Rani, let’s bring Syn back to his senses… together!”, he said with a proud smile spread across his face.

darkruby15 - March 9, 2012 05:37 PM (GMT)
”Rani, please get up! We have to s-stop standing around and help the others!” Annabelle yelled across the barge of attacks being thrown at their direction. Syn turned his attention to the shiny who was struggling to get up. According to Fate, she was the cause of everything bad in his life. But it just didn’t add up in the Sneasel’s mind. She looked more like his friend than Fate did half the time. In fact, why was there an abnormal amount of pain that went through the Sneasel’s mind when her existence ran though him? The shiny got up and met his gaze. There was so much pain and confusion…and concern. Concern for whom, he wondered as she turned away. Syn made his way to her.

The other Sneasel, glanced past him to look at the group of-what he presumed was her friends- with an intense moment of guilt before she met his gaze again. There was something accusing in hers, something that screamed ‘you are better than this…or at least I thought you were’. “Who are you to me?” he asked needing her to confirm that he was someone that she cared for.

Rani, stared at him like she, herself, didn’t know the answer. Or wasn’t sure. “Your friend.” she told him before darting past him to join her group. Syn turned and watched her for some time. He faintly heard Fate talking to him in his mind. She was met by the Ledian who declared something proudly causing her to look at him again.

“Groudon to Syn, can you hear me? That is your name, right?” a little Natu asked from in the cover of the trees. Syn recalled how this Natu was throwing rocks at Fate. ”Oh good you can! HA! I knew that was your name! Now snap out you Attract state and go help your girlfriend. Your real girlfriend. The Sneasel. Oh don’t look like that. You can lie to yourself, Ice Weasel, but you can’t lie to me or Fate. That big-headed moronic jackass will manipulate you using your uncertainties. So in order to defeat her –besides throwing rocks- you need to make up your mind. Because it seems like to me, your friend already has,” the bird gestured to the conversation going on between Rani and Fate.

“Thanks man,” Syn told the bird who just shrugged as if it was nothing. The Natu hopped down from the tree branch and glanced around at the remainder of Fate’s forces. Syn nodded as he dashed toward the group while the Natu used a few attacks and words to keep the forces from attacking him.
*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_

Fate was shocked to see the Butterfree stand up for herself. It totally clashed with her personality but not with Fate’s plan. Fate merely laughed at her. At the Jumpluff that inserted the comment after that. Didn’t they know who they were messing with? Well seeing that Syn wasn’t here, she could go off on a rant and not worry about breaking that sweetness that hit home for her favorite Sneasel. ”And what friends would that be? The five here? Are you talking about that community that left you? Because they hardly miss you. What’s the point in worrying about Pokemon who don’t give a damn about you? You make you petty threats, but you won’t follow them through. You should have stayed hidden in that bush. It’s where you belong!” She watched the Ledian fire Solarbeam at the Exadrill and let loose an evil chuckle. That was until she saw Zacael and Syn chatting away from the group. It stunned her that Zacael, of all people, would play a hand in this. Afterall, he was like a mini Graham and their trainer loved both of them and Zacael was normally just a petty threat…like that Annabelle but damn, had he shown her.

”At least we have friends. What do you have? People who your control with fear. You think they’ll be there for you when you need them? They wouldn’t. No one will. You’ll just be all alone in an empty life. I wonder how your trainer puts up with you. Maybe that person just ignores you and gets on with their day. Who would want to put up with your crap in the first place?” Rani hissed glancing at Xavier when he make a remark about getting Syn back to his senses. ” You may not think this, but I think the reason you want Syn is because of the fact that his friend love him the way he is. You have to change yourself just to claim friendship. You’re nothing more than a coward.” Fate raised her to attack the Rani with something hit her with enough force to knock her into a tree. Glancing from her fallen spot, she saw the Sneasel glaring at her with bloody murder written on her face. “And that was for calling Annabelle out.”

Fate picked herself up from the tree and mentally barked the order retreat before glaring at Rani and teleporting away. But left some parting presents for the group. Annabelle’s community was hovering around them. The mixture of generations glanced at group waiting for the community’s purpose to be known.

SapphireChao15 - March 15, 2012 12:33 AM (GMT)
Annabelle began to look a little bit hurt as Fate taunted her; the Butterfree’s courage was quickly slipping away from her. ”And what friends would that be? The five here? Are you talking about that community that left you? Because they hardly miss you. What’s the point in worrying about Pokémon who don’t give a damn about you? You make you petty threats, but you won’t follow them through. You should have stayed hidden in that bush. It’s where you belong!”, she said with an evil laugh. Annabelle frowned sadly, and she moved closer to Xavier who quickly comforted her. She tried to hide her tears as best as she could, ”W-Why does she have to be so right?!”, she whimpered sadly. The Butterfree had no idea how much her community actually cared about her, aside from a few select friends that had bothered to come and help her through the woods. She couldn't help but feel helpless as her friends came to her defense. Xavier glared at the Beheeyem, ”At least Annabelle has some real friends that she can actually rely on!”, he hissed back.

Both Xavier and Annabelle were surprised when Rani came to the Butterfree’s defense, causing the Ledian to smile warmly. He gave his love a hug and watched with her as Rani knocked the smug Pokémon into a tree. ”Way to go Rani, you show that good for nothing Beheeyem!”, Xavier cheered happily. Fate managed to get back up before teleporting away, ”Hey guys, what happened to the Excadrill and Sesmitoad that were knocked out?”, Bruce asked. Sadie let out a quiet gasp of surprise and pointed to a large group of Pokémon that lurked in the distance, ”I-I don’t think that we should be worrying about those two! Look!”

Annabelle let out a nervous chuckle, she easily recognized the group as the Pokémon that she had lived with since she was a little Caterpie. A familiar Beedrill flew out of the group, followed by a Scyther, both were wearing angry frowns and glared at the team of Pokémon, ”Okay, I don’t know how we got here, but one of you Johto scum better start explaining, and NOW!”, he threatened. Xavier clutched his fists angrily, why’d it have to be this creep to show up?! The bee Pokémon’s eyes suddenly widened when he spotted the Ledian, followed by a smug smirk, ”Well, if it isn’t the insignificant squirt from before! You ready for round 3?”, he taunted. Xavier quietly groaned, he was seriously not in the mood to deal with these idiots, ”You still hung up over the fact that I’m from Johto and that Serenity sent you crying home to your mother?’”, he replied, almost sounding bored. And of course the Scyther would get all bent out of shape for having his pal get insulted, ”You shut your trap you worm! Have you forgotten that little beating that we gave you last time we met?”, he shouted back.

Xavier simply shrugged his arms; he couldn’t care less about these two jokers. Serenity was basically the cause of the community’s ‘relocation’, she wasn’t going to take having insolent Pokémon just waltzing into her territory and stirring up trouble. ”If you think that I’m going to let your petty words bait me into a fight with you, then you’re sadly mistaken”, the Ledian added. Annabelle seemed to look relieved that Xavier wasn’t going to fall for any tricks this time. She floated beside him, ”Would you mind acting your age for once, Brad?”, she said with a hint of annoyance. The Beedrill paused upon seeing Annabelle, ”Oh I see now, well Xavier it seems that the reason that you’re acting all tough is so that you can impress Lady Annabelle! Well, we know all about your little kidnapping, and we’re going to tear you to shreds for putting a hand on dear Annabelle”, Brad replied. Xavier could only give a confused look, ”K-Kidnapping?! What the heck is he talking about?”, he thought quietly.

The Beedrill seemed to only get angrier at Xavier, ”Ooh, stop trying to look so innocent! We know that you kidnapped Lady Annabelle, now hand her over!!”, he demanded. Now Xavier’s patience was running thin, ”What are you, delusional? I didn’t kidnap anyone, especially Annabelle. Get a clue you idiot, you creeps abandoned her!”, he stated. Annabelle began to back away, she didn’t understand what was even happening. How could they have believed that she was abducted, she had left a note before she left and even a few of her closest community friends accompanied her to the forest. Something just didn’t seem right, but what exactly was going on with her community?! "Don't worry Lady Annabelle, we will rescue you from your captors! I know that it must have been hard to be held hostage for nearly a month!", Brad declared. Annabelle was only getting more confused, she had only left the group for about two to three weeks. Something seemed wrong with Brad, and it was quite likely that whatever had him go off the deep end was affecting the rest of her adoptive family as well considering how they all glared at the Johto Pokemon in such contempt.

darkruby15 - March 15, 2012 08:32 PM (GMT)
”Way to go Rani, you show that good for nothing Beheeyem!”, Xavier cheered as Rani took deep breaths to regain her composure. She wasn’t one for violence. She did feel a bit guilty for attacking the Beeheeyem, but she slammed her guilt down with a thick brick of self-defense. Rani offered a smile to the Ledian before Syn stopped beside her. She peered at him from her peripheral vision. A part of her was hurt than he was so confused but another part wanted to sneer at him the lines: ‘Run after the love of your life’ or ‘Fate is calling. She wants her bitch back’. Refusing to even make eye contact with Syn right now, she keep her gaze on Annabelle and Xavier.

After a silence broke between them, she heard Syn sigh before speaking, “I suppose that you had your reasons to slap me. Hell, maybe I did deserve that. But…Rani, I must have done something horrid to make you hit me,” Syn reasoned out loud hoping to draw the Shiny Sneasel into a conversation that would invoke her to speak her feelings and maybe they could resolve their issues. Rejection hurt a lot but coming from Rani, that hurt more than it should.

“I did not mean to slap you. I’m mad at you. How dare you just up and leave when I needed you?! Even though I think you were being selfish with why you didn’t want me evolve…I couldn’t go through with it. Evolving means nothing if it meant I lose you as my friend,” Rani explained watching his eye widened giving her the impression that he really thought she would leave him just to become a Weavile. But then she remembered how his parents changed after evolving and maybe, just maybe this was Syn’s very subtle way of showing her he cared.

”Umm Raneeta…thank you.” Syn told her softly. He wasn’t good at any form of apologies but he knew in his heart and soul that this was one that he had to make. In fact, he hugged her and didn’t let her go for some time. In fact, he would bet his soul that she just smiled.

Ooh stop trying to look so innocent!", a Beedrill exclaimed causing Syn to move his attention from Rani to Xavier and Annabelle. Wait a second…wasn’t that the same Beedrill that came after Xavier and me? Syn wondered as he reluctantly released Rani in an attempt to find out the exact nature of the accusations. As Syn grabbed Rani’s claw and they both made their way over to stand beside the other , they heard the booming words of the Beedrill, "Don't worry Lady Annabelle, we will rescue you from your captors! I know that it must have been hard to be held hostage for nearly a month!"
Syn glanced around to see the other Pokèmons from that community had come out to support them. ”Damn Annabelle, you just had to make so many friends,” Syn murmered to Annabelle before clearing his throat to speak. “I’m sure that this is all a big misunderstanding. Annabelle was a target for Fate. Xavier here, was merely protecting her. It does sound like you guys care about her a lot. If you do then hear her out.” Syn invited them to try the method before insinuating stupid stuff.

Syn was surprised when Rani piped up behind him in Xavier’s defense, “Xavier wasn’t with Annabelle for the amount of time you are assuming. They just met up today about a few hours ago.”

”Damn Annabelle, you just had to make so many friends”, Syn murmured to Annabelle causing the butterfly Pokémon to give him a sad expression, ”I-I can’t helping being raised by these Pokémon, they weren’t always like this!”, she replied quietly. The Sneasel continued, “I’m sure that this is all a big misunderstanding. Annabelle was a target for Fate. Xavier here, was merely protecting her. It does sound like you guys care about her a lot; if you do then hear her out”, he suggested to the group on angry Pokémon. ”Xavier wasn’t with Annabelle for the amount of time you are assuming. They just met up today about a few hours ago”, Rani said in Xavier’s defense. The Beedrill scoffed, ”Oh yeah sure, Johto scum like you would say anything to avoid consequences!”, he barked back angrily. Suddenly, the crowd of Pokémon began to whisper a little bit, debating amongst themselves about whether it was worth their time to listen to Annabelle’s explanation rather than to just attack. Brad glared at Xavier with intense hatred, ”Don’t listen to these pests my fellow Kanto natives! We’ll save Annabelle and rid the planet of these “second generation” pests!”, he demanded.

Annabelle floated in front of Xavier, ready to get to the bottom of this rather crazy behavior, ”That’s enough! I was never kidnapped, I’ve only been gone for a few weeks and I informed everyone that I was coming here, why are you acting so irrational?!”, she asked. Xavier tried to hide his disgust, ”Irrational?”, he repeated, ”Have you met these guys?! We’re just wasting our breath trying to reason with them”, he said. Annabelle frowned at the Ledian, but Brad chuckled loudly at the group, ”You got that right squirt! Let’s get ‘em!”, he ordered. Both the Beedrill and Scyther began to charge towards Xavier, when suddenly a voiced boomed from behind them, stopping the duo dead in their tracks. ”Now what’s all this that’s going on?! Brad! Luke! That’s no way to behave!”, shouted a shiny Kadabra that made his way through the crowd of Pokémon as they quickly bowed before him, Brad and Luke desperately kneeled before the psychic Pokémon waiting for him to speak. The Kadabra looked at the small group of Pokémon, before smiling warmly, ”Ah, Annabelle my dear, it’s so wonderful to see that you’re safe!”, he said cheerfully.

Annabelle bowed her head before this Pokémon before speaking, ”St. Isaac, I’m sorry to ask, but why are you here? Weren’t you on your spiritual journey before I left?”, she asked. St. Isaac shook his head, ”Not quite my dear, I have just recently rescued poor helpless Pokémon from an evil human base, and when I returned to the community everyone was panicking at your disappearance. I came to investigate but everyone insisted that they come along as well. Annabelle, what were you thinking sneaking off in the middle of the night to come to a place like this?”, he asked. Annabelle angrily shook her head, ”No! I left a letter behind explaining the whole thing, and now suddenly my friends are being accused of kidnapping me! St. Isaac, I came of my own free will”, she explained. The Kadabra didn’t speak, he merely nodded his head and turned to the Kanto Pokémon, ”Well it appears that this whole thing was a giant misunderstanding, everyone please calm down and let us return to our village”, he said happily causing the Pokémon to cheer with relieved looks on their faces. He faced Annabelle once more, ”I do apologize for the confusion, some of the members of our fine community are a little… quick to jump to conclusions”, he began, eyeing Brad and Luke with annoyance, ”Now come along Annabelle, it’s time to come home with us”, he said.

Now Xavier was done with being quiet, ”Look, I appreciate the fact that you cleared up all that confusion, but you need to know that Annabelle isn’t going anywhere!”, he said sternly. St. Isaac merely chuckled at the bug Pokémon’s protests, but Annabelle stood beside Xavier refusing to budge. He frowned slightly, ”Look, Xavier is it? I’m afraid that you have no real choice in the matter; it is Arceus’ will that she return with her people. You’re little puppy love with dear Annabelle was just that, puppy love. Nothing good will come from your interest in her, especially since Annabelle is from a long line of pure-bred Butterfree. Now, I’ll ask you only once, return Annabelle to us… now”, he said in a tone that almost seemed threatening. He glared at Xavier, the Kadabra’s eyes suddenly glowed blue and it wasn’t long until the Ledian’s eyes changed to the same color of blue. Xavier’s arms dropped from Annabelle’s side and he moved away from her, startling her, ”X-Xavier? What- what are you doing?!”, she asked him. Xavier frowned at the Butterfree, ”What’s it look like I’m doing?! I’m sending you to go live in your little ‘perfect society’! Clearly you’re way too good for the likes of me, fine, whatever! I don’t need you clinging onto me 24/7 anyways!”, he said bitterly.

Sadie and Bruce could only watch in silent horror at Xavier’s sudden shift in attitude, and Annabelle was just as surprised. Tears began streaming from her eyes, she had never heard Xavier say such horrible things about her, ”X-Xavier, h-how could you-“, she began, but Xavier quickly interrupted, ”Did I stutter?! Get going, just get as far away from me as possible! I don’t care if I ever see you again!! All you’ve done is make life a living hell for me, get out of my sight!”, he practically screamed. Annabelle wept miserably at the bug’s harsh words and flew into the welcoming arms of the Pokémon that she had known since she was little. With a quick smirk, St. Isaac teleported the entire community away, leaving the small group of Pokémon on their own once more. Xavier blinked as if in a daze before nearly falling to the ground, he rubbed his eyes and had a massive headache, he turned to Syn and Rani with a confused look on his face, ”Gah, sorry guys, I kind of blacked out…”, he began, looking around for other Pokémon, ”W-What happened to Annabelle, do you guys know what just occurred?”, he asked; completely unaware that he himself chased his love away.

darkruby15 - March 25, 2012 08:23 PM (GMT)
Syn scanned the line of community members and a rush of memories flooded the Sneasel. Rani, Acreus bless her, lived on the side of the mountain where the Sneasels didn’t conjugate in gangs to hunt for food. Syn claw clenched around Rani’s as Syn watched as Annabelle conversated with the leader .

“Daddy! Daddy! Look! Look!” A younger version of Syn said darting though the snow to reach his father and mother who stood waiting for the rest of the gang to return from their hunting trip. He was so happy that he stole Cryogonal egg from a nest all by himself! He held the Pokemon egg, speckled with dark spots on a lighter background for his father’s inspection.

“What the heck is this?” his father sneered at the young Syn. His father smacked the egg out of Syn’s gasp causing a small sound of anguish to rip from the Sneasel’s throat. Confused now, Syn stared at his parent’s open rejection of him. Syn wanted to share how he had whoop the Snowflakes family, got attacked by a Dragonite and then proceeded to chase by the rival gang Weaviles. “I thought I told you already! Do not even speak of the fact that I’m related to you. You. Are. Just. Nobody. To. Me.” His father hissed at Sneasel . Syn felt tears develop in his eyes as he turn to his mother who raked him with a disgusted look.

”What’s it look like I’m doing?! I’m sending you to go live in your little ‘perfect society’! Clearly you’re way too good for the likes of me, fine, whatever! I don’t need you clinging onto me 24/7 anyways!” Xavier all but shouted across grounds. It was so stunning to Syn that is drew him out of memory flashback. Syn let go of Rani’s claw to go and attempt to calm Xavier down.

“Syn, look. There is something off about Xavier. Look at his eyes.” Rani told Syn and he nodded in agreement. They both watched as Annabelle was teleported away.

”W-What happened to Annabelle, do you guys know what just occurred?”” Xavier asked as Rani and Syn glanced at each other trying to come up with an explanation for the turn of events. Syn gestured for Rani to tell him since Syn was all guff and what Xavier needed was kind, gentle words which is what Rani could do bet.

“Annabelle went with her group after you gave her...your…blessing,” Rani said to the Ledian as she laid a comforting hand on Xavier’s back.

”First off,” the group heard the familiar voice. Rani saw Zacael first. The Natu flew towards them and landed a few feet away from them. “You guys can’t get a break anywhere. And who wished for Arceus intervention because whoever did, I blame for the appearance of St. Issac. Now, judging by your actions, Xavier, I would say he manipulated you to get Annabelle back.” Zacael drew in a breath as he glanced at the group,” Many situations call for alliances made with the enemy. But how long does a river flow through a burning village before it becomes a threat?” Zacael told them in a voice that was a sounded aged with knowledge. “If you want to help Annabelle and clear the air, I cannot help you. I’m not strong enough to help you. But I know someone who can. And you guys won’t like this one bit.”

Syn knew what Zacael was implying. And it was a Beeheeyem he didn’t even want to contemplate a solution with. In fact Syn bend down to lighting smack Zacael on the back of his head. When the Natu glared at him, Syn offered a reply: “Don’t bring Fate into this. We barely escaped her army and I went all puppy love on her and I nearly hurt Rani and the others.”

SapphireChao15 - April 8, 2012 08:54 PM (GMT)
”Annabelle went with her group after you gave her… your… blessing”, Rani said in a soothing tone. Xavier shook his head, she wasn’t serious right? She had to be kidding, pulling his leg, pulling the wool over his eyes, playing a joke on him. Xavier blinked in confusion again, this just… it wasn’t happening… was it?! It wasn’t long until reality started to sink in, Annabelle wouldn’t have willingly left without reason. He was beginning to panic now, he turned to Rani, ”M-My blessing?”, he repeated, he gazed at the ground with a blank expression and clutched his fists. ”Oh dear Arceus, what did I say?! Heavens, I must have said something terrible if it led to Annabelle leaving me-“, he paused. The words echoed in his head, ”A-Annabelle left…. M-me?!”, he repeated. He struggled to stand as tears streamed from his face, ”Arceus, what on earth did I say to her?! W-Why can’t I remember what happened?! Annabelle’s gone, lost to me and I don’t have even a clue where her community’s hiding away; they could be anywhere by now. Without Annabelle, Arceus, she probably hates me, I don’t have the strength to continue on without her”, he said, falling to his knees. His tears were pouring from his eyes so fast that he was literally blinded by them.

”I-I, I refuse to go on. The fire in my heart has been extinguished, I can’t make it. Annabelle… I failed you, I-I can’t believe that Fate won….”, he wept pitifully. Sadie looked at Xavier with a somewhat confused look on her face, ”Bruce, what’s happening… I thought that Xavier chased Annabelle away?”, she whispered. Bruce motioned her to keep quiet, as a fellow bug Pokémon, Bruce understood the feelings that the Ledian was experiencing. He recalled how bug Pokémon had to find love quickly due to their shorter life spans than other Pokémon, and since most mated for life, the idea of losing a loved one was worse than facing death and Darkrai himself. He walked over to the Ledian with a stern look on his face, ”Xavier, you can’t give up just yet! Annabelle is still nearby, I can sense it. You can get her back!”, he explained. Xavier didn’t even look at the Heracross, ”What does it matter? Annabelle has probably found a new love by now, I blew it, I’m going to die alone”, he replied gloomily. Bruce frowned, ”I thought that you loved her, if that’s true then you need to find her and hear what she has to say from her own mouth… what you said wasn’t you, St. Isaac did something to you to make you say those things!”, he declared.

”First off,” began a familiar voice, “You guys can’t get a break anywhere. And who wished for Arceus intervention because whoever did, I blame for the appearance of St. Issac. Now, judging by your actions, Xavier, I would say he manipulated you to get Annabelle back.” Zacael took a deep breath before continuing,” Many situations call for alliances made with the enemy. But how long does a river flow through a burning village before it becomes a threat?” If you want to help Annabelle and clear the air, I cannot help you. I’m not strong enough to help you. But I know someone who can. And you guys won’t like this one bit.” , Zacael said calmly. Apparently both Syn and Xavier were thinking the same thing as neither of them wanted to include Fate’s help in the matter. The Ledian scoffed in anger, why would Zacael suggest asking the Pokémon that brought St. Isaac and the other crazies to this forest for any kind of help? For all they knew, Fate and St. Isaac could be on the same side, since they both had it out for Annabelle.

Xavier had a blank expression despite the rivers of tears that he was releasing, he couldn’t go hunting for Annabelle, he’d only break her heart more. Bruce frowned at Xavier, but left him alone with his thoughts. He walked over towards Syn and Rani looking a little uneasy, ”I don’t know what that St. Isaac character did to Xavier when he was controlling him, but it’s apparent that he didn’t want Xavier to have the strength to give chase and apologize to Annabelle. I don’t know what we should do, but I think that we have to follow that Kadabra- er, I mean… if you’re willing to help that is. I’m not certain, but I think that by helping Xavier, Sadie and I might regain a lost friend….”, he said, his voice trailing off. Sadie hopped beside the Heracross, ”Bruce? Does this mean-?”, she asked. Bruce nodded his head before looking back at Xavier, ”I think that this is indeed the same Xavier we knew when we were all younger, but we’ll have to ask him after all this is done to be certain”, he replied.
---

Annabelle was still in such a state of shock after what had happened, why would Xavier say such things?! As hurt as she was, she knew that Xavier had never acted like that before and crying wasn’t going to solve anything. The entire community was cheering and celebrating at Annabelle’s return, but something just didn’t feel right. She returned to where she had left her note the night that she left and noticed that it was gone. Slowly becoming suspicious, Annabelle decided to have a word with St. Isaac in hopes of shedding some light on the situation. She wandered around the small village that her community lived at and searched for the Kadabra, when she suddenly heard a voice, ”So boss, I take it that Annabelle came back to the community then? How’d you do it?”, asked an unfamiliar female voice. ”It wasn’t that difficult really, a little hypnosis on her pathetic lover and she came running home with us. It’s funny, but I expected more of a fight from that Ledian, but I guess that his mind was weaker than I originally thought”, taunted the voice of St. Isaac. Annabelle hid alongside the wall of one of the village huts and gazed around the corner, spotting St. Isaac talking with a shiny Illumise.

Annabelle tried to hide her surprise and keep her startled gasp quiet. ”So, I’ll be taking that note now Topaz”, Isaac continued, extending his hand out. The Illumise happily handed over the folded sheet of paper that Annabelle realized was her note, before watching it burst into flames and being reduced to ashes. Topaz floated beside Isaac,”So, why exactly is Annabelle so important again?”, she asked. The Kadabra smiled, ”Why? It’s because this stupid community has a strong family system, caring for each member as one of their own. If even one Pokémon goes missing, all the community thinks about is how worried they are about said Pokémon. It’s near impossible to manipulate them into doing what I command when that’s all they ever think about. I’m going to have to keep Annabelle on a tighter leash from now on and use good ol’ hypnosis to keep her in line”, he explained.

”Now, I heard some reports that there are currently prisoners here in the community?”, he asked. Topaz nodded her head before responding, ”Indeed sir, about 3 Pokémon from various generations were dangerously close to the community territory, I had them rounded up and stashed away until you came back sir. What do you want to do with them?”, she asked. The Kadabra gave it some thought before responding, ”Well I’ll see if I can use my hypnosis on them and use them to help spread my influence over other Pokémon, however, if they resist or become too troublesome, I want them executed before the entire community as an example to others… as well as to further encourage the community’s hatred of other generations of Pokémon”, he ordered.

Topaz nodded at St. Isaac and flew away, leading Annabelle to decide to sneak away before she could be discovered. She turned away and flew towards the crowd of Pokémon that she considered to be a family, she was going to blow St. Isaac’s secret out of the water.

Suddenly, there was a bright flash that appeared in front of her, causing Annabelle to back up a little. It was none other than St. Isaac, who only glared at the Butterfree in silence. ”Now now Annabelle, I can’t have you trying to foil my plans. Come along dear, I’ll have to deal with you sooner than planned in a place that’s more.... concealed than here”, he said as his eyes glowed a faint blue color.

darkruby15 - April 10, 2012 10:12 PM (GMT)
Ponds. Addiction. Creepy Pokemon cult. Cage. Dark. Hungry. THE POOR POND! DADDY! PAPA SYN! Quincy’s thoughts were scattered at best as he lay on the ground of the cage he had been shoved in. He had caught the glimpses of bars surrounding him as the captor’s had pulled the covering over his head. The Croagunk was huddled in the corner –which he had found by feeling- in a desperate attempt to comfort himself. He heard several unpleasant whispers from the captors and some from his fellow prisoners.

”Now now Annabelle, I can’t have you trying to foil my plans. Come along dear, I’ll have to deal with you sooner than planned in a place that’s more.... concealed than here”, Quincy heard someone announced to another person. Scared, he did what any normal, pond obsessed Croagunk would do…

“I don’t know what you want but you can have it. I know where some rare berries are planted. Are you planning on eating me? I’m not very fleshy. I’m all bone. Look at me, b-o-n-e. I’m sure this is a misunderstanding. My father insulted your children, didn’t he? He is a Sneasel. Me, I’m a frog. I don’t eat chillings. You can let me go! I won’t waste your time with little old me. I’m sure a wise…uh…whatever you are has to spend his time someplace else, yes? ” Quincy rambled on scared senseless to do anything that would even be considered coherent. He squinted through his square glasses to make out a butterfly hovering outside his cage. “A cannibal butterfly?! WHAT KIND OF HELL HOLE HAVE I STUMBLED UPON! OH FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THE GRAND-SNEASELS SYN WILL HAVE, HAVE MERCY UPON MY SOUL! I DIDN’T STEAL THE COOKIE OUT OF THE COOKIE JAR. IT WAS SYN! THE DEVIL MUST COME AFTER THY SOULS THAT ARE THY PURE. ARE YOU THE SPAWN OF THE DEVIL? BRO, I HAS HOLY WATER! AND KNOW SOME PRAYERS. DEMONIC FORCES BE WARNED!!” Quincy recited his voice in his normal up-beat higher pitch tone that he was familiar with. He broke out into a verse of ‘Om Jai Jagidish’, the most popular hymn in his religion.

******
Syn, watched Xavier’s meltdown unsure of what to say or how to comfort the Ledian. As Razel put it, there were only two things he understood in his life: being a warrior and surviving. The rest, the Dragonair had said, was built upon bad judgment. Razel may have been trying to justify Syn’s suicidal tendencies to Sitara but the Dragonair had an odd perception on Syn ticked. And it showed now. Syn was used to a world where emotional weakness got you killed. He didn’t know the first thing about love or any emotion at all. Oh my gosh, I am a heartless disowned son. Terror filled him at the notion that he was no better than his father’s gang of Weaviles.

”What does it matter? Annabelle has probably found a new love by now, I blew it, I’m going to die alone”, Xavier cried out and the pain lashed at Syn’s conscience. He had once felt like that. That was about a few hours ago too. Taking a sideway glance at Rani, Syn felt his breath get stuck in his throat. Wrapped up in his self-revelations, he had failed to notice the fact that Rani was crying beside him. Her tears were streaming down her face and Rani looked seconds away from breaking down. She sniffled as Bruce and Sadie came over to talk to them trying to use their friendship forged over near death experiences. Syn watched Rani take a deep breath, a gesture he knew was to calm her nerves and conveyed the extent of the search of the right thing to say in such a dire situation.

“Xavier please pull yourself together,” Rani said softly as she step forward to comfort the Ledian, “Annabelle needs you to speak what is on your mind Xavier. What is in your heart for her? Whatever St. Issac has done…he only shoved you in this direction. He is playing on your doubts in your feelings for Annabelle. And you’re letting him win. You’re letting him decided Annabelle’s life for her. Is that what she would want Xavier? Stop and think. No one likes decisions made for them,” Rani told Xavier in a calm voice that sounded so serene that Syn could swear he could feel the calmness in the air. When Rani’s eyes met his, it was like a slap with fire. Syn knew that she was given him a subtle hint of how possessive he could be.

Zacael nudged Syn with his wing. It really was more of a smack with his wing but Syn had built up some hefty defense mechanisms for pain. Syn glanced down to see the Natu hovering a bit off the ground. In fact, it occurred to him that Zacael was far wiser for his age than Syn was. “Bruce is correct. It seems the community has been expanding their area. I feel their thoughts. So –I hate to say this- Xavier, bro, you need to make up your mind. And make it up fast. I feel more Pokemon being drawn there. The longer we wait, the more Pokemon are converging at that point.” Zacael announced with a bit of clipped sounding tone.

****
Fate glanced at boundary that separated her dominance and St. Issac. She had anticipated that the Alakazam would engage in something of this nature. Hovering some distance away from the group huddle around Xavier and his breakdown, which was about to make her hurl, she felt the confusion Syn was experiencing, the panic Rani was in, Xavier dilemma, and shocking of all Zacael’s need to help out. Shrugging, she floated towards one of her commanders who had
approached her.

“Madam, the rebellion group is having a somewhat large gathering. Our spies have confirmed that St, Issac, himself, is there,” he reported to Fate who smiled with dark and evil intentions. She nodded in acknowledgement as she reclined a bit and studied the group before her. “We are awaiting your orders.”

“This…this has played out in our favor, soldier. If we let that group over there, since they have the movitation to attack St. Issac, go first, we can use the element of surprise on our side. Rally the troops! Don’t make a move until our little group goes first. We will eliminate St. Issac, do not worry,” Fate replied still grinning and looked at the community boundaries. She heard the solider salute before high tailing it away from her.

SapphireChao15 - May 28, 2012 07:05 PM (GMT)
As St. Isaac commanded Annabelle to follow him, loud and desperate shouts were heard from a nearby shed where the current prisoners were being held, and the Kadabra only glared in anger. Using his psychic powers, he caused the whole shed to shake violent as he entered inside with Annabelle mindlessly following him. ”SILENCE!!”, he began in a harsh tone, ”Insignificant toad, you will cease your ramblings or so help me, not even Arceus will be able to recognize you!”, he threatened. He took a deep breath and regained his composure before continuing to speak, ”Now, you will be quiet… I have no intention of killing any Pokémon, as long as they listen to what I have to say, after all, a life is such a terrible thing to waste”, he added in his usual calm voice.

Annabelle merely floated beside St. Isaac in complete silence, her eyes still glowing a faint blue color.

"My lord, something feels off", a shadowy figure whispered. The Kadabra turned and couldn't help but sigh, "Yes Thane, I sense it too... it would appear that we'll be meeting multiple enemies shortly", he replied. The shadow materialized as a Banette whose eyes glowed a bright red, "Would you like me to rip their worthless souls from their bodies sire?", he asked eagerly. St. Isaac smiled at Thane, but shook his head, "No, that won't be necessary... where's the challenge in having enemies if we eliminated them before they could even make their grand entrance? But have no fear, I'm sure that you'll get your chance to gather up souls", he replied with a grin. Thane chuckled and bowed his head before St. Isaac, "Such an ingenious plan sire, that's why you're the boss!", he happily said before fading back into the shadows.

Xavier was now lying on the ground, gazing up at the sky with his depressed expression, and though his tears had stopped, the aching in his heart had not. “Xavier please pull yourself together. Annabelle needs you to speak what is on your mind Xavier. What is in your heart for her? Whatever St. Isaac has done…he only shoved you in this direction. He is playing on your doubts in your feelings for Annabelle. And you’re letting him win. You’re letting him decided Annabelle’s life for her. Is that what she would want Xavier? Stop and think. No one likes decisions made for them,”, Rani said as she tried to console the troubled bug Pokémon. He listened to her words with an intense focus, and the sound of her voice eased the pain he was feeling. Xavier nodded his head and sat up, drying his checks as best as he could before trying to stand back up, ”You’re right Rani… you too Bruce, I may have lost my chance with Annabelle forever, but that doesn’t mean that I leave her in the hands of that no good Kadabra.

He looked at Bruce sadly, ”But what are the odds that we’ll find Annabelle in time? If they happen to be nearby, it won’t be long until St. Isaac just teleports the whole village that community lives in and be gone forever”, he added hopelessly. Bruce gave him a weak smile, ”Have some faith my friend, we’ll find them”, he replied. He walked over to the Ledian and extended his hand to help him off the ground, to which Xavier accepted and was back on his feet, ”S-Sorry for getting so emotional… I must’ve had more pent up stress than I thought I had, and losing Annabelle… it was just too much to handle”, he replied trying to hide his feeling of shame. Bruce patted the Ledian on the back, and gave him a warm smile, ”Hey don’t take it so hard, what matters right now is finding and saving Annabelle”, he replied.

Xavier seemed to perk up a little bit and began to walk towards the spot where St. Isaac stood when he teleported the entire community away. As he got closer and closer, a burning pain in the back of his head began to surface. Suddenly he was in blinding pain and collapsed on the ground, holding the back of his head tightly to try to ease the sharp pain he was feeling. Sadie and Bruce ran to side, helping Xavier up, ”W-What’s wrong?”, the Jumpluff asked. Xavier shook his head, and tried to ignore the pain. He took another step forward and was met with more pain, then the Ledian backed up and was surprised to feel the pain slightly subside, ”Come on, we need to get going! I have a pretty good feeling that St. Isaac’s this way!”, he said. Bruce understood that Xavier was feeling pain for an unknown reason and it was likely caused by whatever St. Isaac did in Xavier’s head. He quickly provided support and gently tossed the Ledian onto his back, startling the red bug a little.

”Well then, let’s not waste any more time! We’d best be off for Annabelle’s community!”, he declared eagerly.

darkruby15 - May 31, 2012 06:00 PM (GMT)
”Insignificant toad, you will cease your ramblings or so help me, not even Arceus will be able to recognize you!”The Pokèmon commanded as the shed began to shake. Quincy fell backwards and scrambled away from him as terror filled him and pour out of his pores. The cage’s bar rattled by none of that registered in the Croagunk’s mind. He was too terrified and his life was flashing before his eyes to grasp even the tiniest concept. The shaking began to cease as tremors ran though the shed in a staccato beat. Quincy keep the moan of fear from escaping his throat. ”Now, you will be quiet… I have no intention of killing any Pokémon, as long as they listen to what I have to say, after all, a life is such a terrible thing to waste” The Pokèmon said in a soothing voice that had no trace of the anger it felt before.

Quincy didn’t realize that he was crying until the tear hit his arm and he was left with the thought of ’where did that come from now?’. He stood up trying to sort his fear in organized compartments. One held his fear of the unknown. Another held his fear of death. The one next to the one about death held the fear of this mysterious Pokèmon. He found that he could breathe a bit easier and his crying had stop. In fact, he heard bits of the conversation that his captor was having. ”… where's the challenge in having enemies if we eliminated them before they could even make their grand entrance?… ingenious plan…

Quincy felt his heart accelerate with this turn of events. If someone was going to attack them, then that would be the time he would escape. A quick Cross Chop should shatter this cage easy, Quincy gathered and he could run as fast as Golurk’s could fly if need be."Enemies? As in ya’ll are going to be attacked? Just what kind of organization are you running?” Quincy asked hoping the stall what looked like the leader in hopes of giving the attackers a chance to whoop some ass so he could make his getaway. “Who are you anyway? And what do you hope to accomplish?” Quincy hoped it was one of those evil villans. The ones with the ego that went on forever.
*_*_*_*_*_*

Fate thought about letting the group do what it was going to do. Now that it looked like Xavier got his shit together and she was all for this plan but Zacael was there and he caused a whole lot of issues. No doubt that Graham would find about her dominance in Poke Park and then wonder why she let Zacael fight a gang by himself.

Zacael, what are you doing? I forbid you to go through whatever plan you have foolishly come up with. I will not have Graham coming after me for you stupid decisions. She hissed into the Natu’s mind. Zacael turn to glance in her direction with a torn look on his face. Legendries must know he must have promised Graham he wouldn’t get in any dangerous situations. She folded her arms in front of her chest and glared at him waiting for him to retreat.

No. I am not leaving my friends. Graham isn’t here and what he doesn’t know can’t hurt him. I’m sure Graham would be very upset of he ever found out how you attacked innocent Pokèmon. He won’t come after you. He sent me to make sure you didn’t do anything stupid. Zacael retorted with an arrogant toss of his beak. He proceeded to talk to his new found friends as another one of her guards approached. Normally she would bark an order of ‘leave me the hell alone’ but froze when she realize who had come.

”I will keep an eye on him, Fate,” he announced with greeting her or saluting her. This other Beheeyem, who was a confusing puzzle, had become of her loyal soldiers and she had no idea how this even happened. With his statement said, he proceeded to teleport and leave her to her thoughts.

“You’re right Rani… you too Bruce, I may have lost my chance with Annabelle forever, but that doesn’t mean that I leave her in the hands of that no good Kadabra,” Xavier announced as the spirit of the fight wound its way into his voice. Syn saw this elated look on Rani’s face and grinned in unison with the rest of the team. As Xavier talked to Bruce, Syn walked over to Rani and a distracted Zacael. Rani looked at him with an uncertain look on her face. Was it for him? The situation at hand?

”So…my lovebirds, it seems we are a team now. I wonder why Fate hasn’t moved to eliminate this threat but with her…anything could be a reason. Annabelle is still there…her mind is very confused. There also are some prisoners being held in a shed…” Zacael commented as Xavier rushed forward and the group moved with him.

”Do we have a plan? Like divide and conquer or attack them with all we got?” Rani asked apprehensive towards the thought of fighting. She glanced at Syn wondering if Fate’s brainwashing would come back to haunt him.

”I rather like the idea of a stealth like assault. I would want to deduce that they expect us to charge at one point instead over multiple points forcing them to spread their forces over more land. Zacael interjected into the conversation as he glided at a slow pace. No doubt to stay with the group.

“I think staying together would be a safer way but Zacael does have a good point. Besides we don’t know how many Pokèmon are a part of the community now. Syn pointed out a bit stressed over the fact that Rani was going to be put in danger.

"Enemies? As in ya’ll are going to be attacked? Just what kind of organization are you running? Who are you anyway? And what do you hope to accomplish?” the Croagunk asked after he finally stopped shivering uncontrollably. St. Isaac was more than willing to offer some enlightenment to the toad, ”Yes enemies, I’m afraid that there are some Pokémon that believe that my expansion of territory and recruitment is an attempt at total dominance and intend to stop me; while there are others that want to stop me for their own selfish reasons like so they themselves can rule over others alone. Of course, both beliefs are far from my intention, I’m simply trying to unite as many Pokémon as possible and form one giant kingdom, one where all Pokémon can stop fighting of petty differences as Arceus had planned centuries ago”, he explained with pride. It was clear that whatever focus that St. Isaac needed to keep Annabelle under control was starting to fade away, as she slowly began to stir back into consciousness. Of course, the Kadabra was just getting too absorbed in his own long-winded speech to even notice the butterfly.

”I am none other than St. Isaac, a once humble Abra that was chosen by Arceus herself to lead her creations to better lives by uniting them against a common enemy that we all share….Humans.”, he added, turning away and clearly showing some signs of deep hatred at the word. ”Humans….”, he repeated angrily, ”The source of nearly all Pokémon woe throughout all of time. Those despicable creatures that treat us Pokémon like dirt, forcing them to fight to the point of fainting, once I have raised enough support and have a powerful enough army, I intend to slowly but surely knock them off the chain of superiority”, he said before once again regaining his composure and hiding any trace of anger.

The psychic Pokémon gave his usual cheerful smile and added, ”Yes, that’s the plan, but it will take a very long time for it to be complete, as I’m only in the first stage of my plan. I’m trying to recruit as many Pokémon as I possibly can for this grand crusade, though sadly, not every Pokémon sees what I see and unfortunately have to be dealt with accordingly. I certainly hope that you don’t end up like those that tried to interfere, I’m afraid that my loyal subject Thane would have to deal with you like all those others… and that won’t be pleasant for either of us. I lose a possible asset for my just cause, and you… well, the less I talk about that the better”, he warned.

”So…my lovebirds, it seems we are a team now. I wonder why Fate hasn’t moved to eliminate this threat but with her…anything could be a reason. Annabelle is still there…her mind is very confused. There also are some prisoners being held in a shed…”, Zacael said, sounding as if he was expecting her company very soon. As Bruce carried Xavier back towards the group, he threw out his own opinion, ”It’s quite likely that Fate’s waiting to strike that St. Isaac character, seeing as both are seeking park domination and all. We’re probably just small time compared to a rival psychic Pokémon with an army of his own”, he said.

Xavier was throbbing with pain every step closer he was getting to Annabelle’s community, but he didn’t care, he’d go through ten times as much pain if it meant that he could hold his love in his arms once more. ”How are you holding up Xavier?”, Bruce asked him. The Ledian struggled to think clearly, but managed to respond, ”I’ve been better, but I’ll live. I can’t rest knowing that St. Isaac has Annabelle, I don’t care how painful this migraine keeps getting, and I’m going to save her!”, he replied. The Heracross smiled at Xavier, he was glad that Xavier was through his self-pity, and hopefully he wouldn’t start to get reckless though to save Annabelle.

It wasn’t long until a conversation arose talking about what battle strategy would be best for this situation, ”Do we have a plan? Like divide and conquer or attack them with all we got?”, Rani asked. ”I rather like the idea of a stealth like assault. I would want to deduce that they expect us to charge at one point instead over multiple points forcing them to spread their forces over more land , Zacael recommended. “I think staying together would be a safer way but Zacael does have a good point. Besides we don’t know how many Pokémon are a part of the community now , Syn suggested. All these ideas sounded like good ones, but only one could be used while the element of surprise was on their side.

“I must say, Zacael’s plan is probably the best for an attack on that troublesome community…”, an unknown voice called out. Looking around, Xavier couldn’t spot the newcomer, ”Hey, who said that?! Show yourself!”, he demanded, struggling to climb off Bruce’s back. The Ledian could barely stand, but he continued to look around for the origin of the voice. ”Calm down kid, I’m not your enemy. Though from the looks of it, you’ve had an unfortunate encounter with a Kadabra named St. Isaac”, the voice continued. Xavier couldn’t help but be stunned, he stepped back and looked up in the trees. Suddenly, a blue stripe became visible and jumped in front of the group of Pokémon. The stranger revealed himself to be a shiny Kecleon, who crossed his arms and sighed, eyeing Xavier.

The Kecleon stepped closer to Xavier, when Bruce quickly recognized him, ”Hey wait a sec, aren’t you that same Kecleon that warned Sadie and I of Fate’s invading forces?”, he asked. The Kecleon smiled, ”The very same. I am known as Espio, and I’ve already been acquainted with Zacael from a past, adventure… anyways, I should probably block out St. Isaac’s influence over you young Ledian”, he explained as he stepped closer to Xavier. Espio brought his hands close to his face and chanted something quietly to himself, causing his hand to glow a faint blue color. He gently tapped Xavier on the forehead with a single finger and the blue seemed to move from his hand to the Ledian’s head, easing the migraine that was causing him so much pain. ”Hey Bruce, isn’t that what that Kecleon did to us when he was warning us about Fate?”, Sadie asked. Bruce nodded, ”Yeah, it’s supposed to block out any psychic interference with an individual’s mind”, he replied.

Xavier stepped back, holding his hand to the spot where Espio healed him, the pain… it was suddenly gone, and not just that, but also every ounce of his self-pity just seemed to disappear and it was clear that St. Isaac had made a complete wreak of his mind. ”T-Thanks, but why did you help me? And how do you know St. Isaac?”, he asked. Espio turned away from the group, it was clear that he was thinking of the best way to explain in the shortest amount of time, ”I came to help because St. Isaac, well… he’s out of control, I couldn’t stand by and allow him to terrorize and manipulate helpless Pokémon, such as yourselves… he’s too powerful to take on alone and he’s never really alone. I’m here to help all of you in the best way that I can, and hopefully it’s not too late…”, he trailed off.

”The community is fairly large, but only a handful of them are actual fighters. The community has had their feelings of distrust for other Pokémon amplified by St. Isaac and turned into hatred, if he leaves, then his influence of the community should fade away. I think that it’s also worth mentioning that while St. Isaac has at least two of his minions acting as guards, he himself is inside a shed that contains captured Pokémon, including a hypnotized Butterfree and a panicking Croagunk. If you’re stealthy enough, you can probably go in and out pretty easily. And if anyone else is interested, I’m willing to help block any kind of psychic interference with your minds in the same way I did with your other Pokémon friends”, he added calmly.

Rani stared at her assailant. A Tentacruel had grabbed her as she had listened to Espio. She had even noticed Zacael being dragged away in the opposite direction. One of its eighty tentacles had curled around her mouth causing her screams to come out as being muffled. Another held one of her claws in its grasp and the other seventy-eight were moving her away from the group. She flailed and tries to squirm free.

As she was forced to backpedal, she noticed that the Tentacruel had returned to the safety of the community though a back door entrance. In fact she found herself thrown into a shed as the Tentacruel. ”My lord, I have brought one from the group that foolishly attacks you.

Rani saw Annabelle hover by St .Issac. ” Annabelle! Hon, snap out of it! she hissed as the Tentacruel hit her with Water Pulse. The attack left her confused and in a state of deep fear.

Quincy developed a plan as the evil pokèmon on a mission rambled on. He gazed turned to the, what he thought at first, cannibal Butterfree. So after he broke out of the cage, he would have to take out the creepy Butterfree with the blue glowing eyes. Or maybe use her as leverage. Turn her into his captive. Quincy knew that he had some type disadvantages when it came to combat. So attack fast and prevent her from coming at him.

”I am none other than St. Isaac, a once humble Abra was chosen by Arceus herself to lead her creations to better lives by uniting them against a common enemy that we all share….Humans.” Quincy thoughts stopped their progression and fasten on the sentence that St. Issac just said. Humans were the enemies? No, that isn’t right. Syn tells me all the cool things that Stephanie does for him and his friends. Maybe something bad happened to him?

He continued on his long speech and Quincy fought the urge to do something along the idea of ‘shut up already you lunatic’. He forced himself to remember that he was buying time and if he wanted to talk like Quincy was taking notes and was going to publish a book later then Quincy knew he had to sit and endure this long lecture. But that did give him an idea. Surprised that he still had his sketch book and pencils, Quincy quickly opened to a fresh sheet and began jotting down a few things. Maybe this would help St. Issac feel a bit more important. And keep him talking longer. ”Yes, that’s the plan, but it will take a very long time for it to be complete, as I’m only in the first stage of my plan. I lose a possible asset for my just cause, and you… well, the less I talk about that the better”

Quincy stopped writing as that sentence fell into a lack of sound. ”In-In-Interfere? Why would I do so something so stupid? I’m just a frog who loves ponds. There is no need for Mr. Thane to ‘deal with me’. Not some spy.” Quincy protested as he searched for a way out of this conversation. Then the shed door flew open and a shiny Sneasel was thrown onto the floor. This couldn’t be Syn’s friend that he avoids talking about, can it? Shuck bro, he has got the worst luck.

Quincy drew back in a surprised terror. Well it was very fake but she was a sign that Papa Syn was going to be kicking down the shed door in a few. ”What will you do to her? Quincy asked, forcing his voice to tremble. Gah, it was easier to be scared before he made his plan to escape.

Zacael was a surprised as Espio appeared from out of nowhere. Of course, Zacael remembered him from their rather interesting interlude with their trainers. He wasn’t surprised that Espio agreed with him. His plan was better for the group. Espio began filling the others in on details; something gently pulled Zacael away from the group. Before he could utter a sound, the Natu found himself suspended upside down by out of his tiny talon feet. After Zacael’s circular mass finished bobbing, he was surprised to see a Beheeyem holding him. At first, Zac thought that this was Fate but he quickly edited his first guess and was stunned to see Fate’s pirate on-off friend, Tryden. He offered Zac a smile in response, Zac puffed up with anger. ”So are you doing Fate’s dirty work again?” Zac hissed and the Beheeyem smiled and shook his head no. Zac quirked his eyebrow and waited for him to speak.

”Must you assume everything I meet you that it has something to do with Lady Fate’s existence? Surely I would think by now we are friends and good ones at that. I merely am keeping her from jumping down the hill and swiping you and punting your little body mass back to Mr. Bennett. I told her that I would keep my eye on you; I never implied that I would stop you. Tryden told him with a wicked smile across his face. Tryden quickly moved Zacael so that he was perched on his head and drifted back closer to the group. “I am deeply hurt by the fact that you would pillage an entire community and not give me a call.”

”We are not pillaging the community. We are beating up the scumbag in charge, getting Xavier’s girlfriend and the other prisoners free of St. Issac’s control and then we are getting the heck outta there. Zacael corrected as he glanced towards the hill and saw Fate glaring at the two of them. Actually her glare was for Tryden and Zacael seemed to be in the way.

I know what you are thinking. And I only did a few jobs here and there for her. To be honest, I did for the money and berry payments. Some idiot on my ship decided to steal everything so I am in a tight spot right now. Tryden told him as they rejoined the group in time to hear Espio’s closing remarks.

*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*
Syn’s heart just stopped beating when Espio was relaying the intel he had gather or had someone else gather. According to him, a panicking Croagunk was being held hostage. QUINCY! WHAT THE HELL WAS HE DOING HERE?! DID I NOT TELL HIM PLACE WAS A KILLING FREE FOR ALL? Syn thought as the turn of events focus his emotionally scrambled mind. Razel would have probably smack upside the head by now with his tail. With a sense of renewed purpose he was ready to beat the shit out of people.

”Hey guys this is Tryden. He is going to help us,” Zacael announced after Espio was finished. In fact, Syn jumped a few feet from realizing that a Beheeyem had joined them and he didn’t even notice. Okay Syn couldn’t even lie to himself because the shape of Beheeyem had automatically registered as Fate. Syn knew he saw him before. A blur in his memories of his time with Fate.

”Don’t you work with Fate? As in her right hand man?” Syn asked as he remembered how close those two had been. It kind of freaked him out but at the same time distracted Fate and her advances. He felt bad because what if this Tryden was trying to make a clean break with Fate or something but in this place one needs to know where the others’ alliance.

”Yes, I took a few jobs with Fate. But I am not her right hand man. That would imply I want her hands on me and I do not have any desire for her to touch me…again. I am here solely on Zac’s behalf. I offer my services to your cause if you will allow it. Tryden explained. Syn noticed how he talked. Smooth and even. He wondered if anything ever happened between those two.

”This is Xavier. Syn. Espio. Remember? I told you about him the last time we hung out? There is Bruce and Sadie. And Rani,” Zacael’s wing was pointed to the spot where she was standing…only to find an empty space. ”Where did Rani go?

Syn’s mind just stopped working. Rani was missing in action and he failed to notice again. ”Rani? Rani?!” he called out and only found answering silence. Syn glanced at Xavier unsure of what to do.
*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*

Fate watched as Tryden held Zacael up and she hoped that he would make a ball out of him and smack him around. But noooooo, he just has to like the annoying bird. Was he riding into battle with them? She wondered as she glared at the two of them. How dare Tryden do this?! He said he would keep an eye on Zacael!! Not encourage this stupid action of friendship. Angry at the circumstances that were presented to here, she whirled around and summon one of her guards.

”I want you to prepare my army for war. We attack in a few minutes. I want that group seized and placed into custody. The rest of them can die, I don’t care! Their leader I want throw at my space occupied by my mass! She teleported down the hill and waited for the army to assembly. At least she knew she could easily pull out a victory now.

The Kadabra was certainly surprised when the cowering Croagunk suddenly pulled out paper and pencil and appeared to start taking notes. To say that seeing this boosted St. Isaac’s ego would be an understatement, and St. Isaac continued with his long winded speech. Almost immediately after finishing and hearing the Croagunk’s objections at being ‘dealt with’, the shed door slammed open and a familiar shiny Sneasel was tossed in by one of St. Isaac’s faithful subjects, ”My lord, I have brought one from the group that foolishly attacks you., he stated. St. Isaac smiled, though he was certainly surprised by this turn of events, ”Well, you have my sincerest thanks for delivering this love bird to me. I will see that you are rewarded for your actions my dear subject, return to your post and inform me when we have any more guests coming in”, he replied as the water Pokémon bowed its head before leaving.

” Annabelle! Hon, snap out of it!, the Sneasel shouted. Annabelle merely tilted her head, and while she was beginning to free herself from St. Isaac’s grasp, she couldn’t do so while the psychic Pokémon had his full attention back on her. ”What will you do to her?, the Croagunk asked, sounding slightly less afraid than before. It was then that St. Isaac began to feel a little suspicious, but chose to turn his attention to the ice Pokémon, ignoring the toad’s question; his eyes beginning to glow as he searched the newly captured Pokémon’s mind for any useful information. “Hmm, you’re Rani correct? That other love bird that was teamed up with Annabelle and those other Pokémon?”, he began,”So, it seems that Espio has joined your little rescue plan, oh how I relish the challenge. Hm? And who’s this Fate that seems to have left quite the impact on your mind, was she the one that caused the whole community to teleport back here? Well I suppose that I’ve learned enough”, he said, releasing his hold on Rani’s mind.
--------

”Hey guys this is Tryden. He is going to help us,”, Zacael stated, whose unexpected arrival startled nearly everyone. ”Don’t you work with Fate? As in her right hand man?”, Syn asked which seemed to alarm the others. After Tryden managed to explain himself and how he apparently wasn’t working with Fate, though Espio couldn’t help but feel a little suspicious of the newcomer. He remained cool and collected, but wasn’t aware that his tail was outstretched and slowly curling up in anger. Taking a deep breath, the Kecleon chose to follow through with the plan of rescue, but would have to keep his guard up. ”Well, if you think he’s trustworthy, I suppose that he can help… after all we are outnumbered”, he stated, trying to even his voice to sound less irritated.

After the group suddenly noticed Rani’s disappearance, it was obvious that she was taken by St. Isaac’s minions. Xavier balled his hands into fists, he was flat out tired of all that was happening and he wasn’t going to stand for it any longer, ””Okay that does it! Let’s stop this once and for all!!”, he shouted. He was quickly hovered off the ground and started to make a dash for the community when Espio suddenly grabbed the bug Pokémon’s leg and stopped him from proceeding. “I’m sorry, but are you out of your mind?! You just finished recovering and all of a sudden you feel that you can take on an entire community? Are you trying to jeopardize the lives of Annabelle and Rani?! Try using brains instead of instincts, trust me, you’ll live longer”, the Kecleon warned. Xavier glared at the reptile before realizing that there was indeed truth in his words. The Ledian managed to settle down and returned to the ground, ”Now I can understand your concerns, but that kind of rash attitude will easily be your downfall, you’re outnumbered and overpowered… this problem can easily be solved but only with a little strategy”, he added.

Xavier was surprised at how wise the reptile was, and quietly nodded his head, ”Now let me show you how it’s done…”, he said. Before the Kecleon could take another step however, the ground crumbled slightly and suddenly a large Sandslash covered in scars from the community popped its head from underground. Xavier was alarmed by the Pokémon and instantly recognized him, ”H-Hey! That’s the Sandslash that attack Syn and I when we first ran into Annabelle’s community!”, he shouted, ready to attack. Espio raised his hand and stopped the insect Pokémon, ”Easy now, he’s a friend. He doesn’t agree with St. Isaac taking over the community and came out seeking help”, he explained. The Sandslash had a worried look on his face and whispered something to Espio, who seemed to look only slightly troubled, ”I see”, he began, ”So you say that you spotted an entire army that’s slowly beginning to surround the area… this is troubling, but not something that I haven’t planned for.”, he said.

”Alright, you guys go on ahead and rescue the Pokémon in the shed, including Annabelle and Rani. I have… other business to attend to… I’ll meet up with you all shortly”, Espio said before vanishing. The Sandslash bowed its head at the group of Pokémon before returning underground and trailed after Espio.
-----------

“Alright, as much as I hate having to leave those Pokémon at a time like this, if I don’t get this community evacuated, I fear that they won’t last long against an entire army…”, Espio muttered to himself, remaining as close to invisible as a Kecleon could. He suddenly spotted a Beedrill and Scyther walking along the border of the community talking amongst themselves, ”I’m going to need some help rounding up the civilians and help them escape”, he added. The reptile snuck up being the two Pokémon and pulled them into the forest, knowing full well what he was getting into. ”Hey what the-?! Unhand us you unseen foe! Show yourself so we can mop the floor with you!”, the Beedrill demanded. Espio refused to show himself and instead chose to simply talk to them as he hung in the trees, ”Do you care about the inhabitants of this community?”, he asked. The Beedrill scowled as he desperately looked for the source of the voice, ”Of course we do! Why else would we search for our lost members and defend our borders?! Are you some kind of idiot or something?!”, he barked back. Espio smiled slightly, glad that at least St. Isaac kept the Pokémon and their loyalty for each other intact. ”Okay, I have some information for you that it of the utmost importance, an invading army is on the way and their leader intends to wipe you and your beloved community off the face of the map. I’d suggest that you round up all of the residents in this area so that… St. Isaac can send in someone to teleport you all to safety”, he explained.

Okay, so he was lying about the last part, but nearly all members of this large group were followers of St. Isaac and they certainly wouldn’t trust an outsider to teleport them all away. The Beedrill scoffed at Espio’s plan, but the Scyther nervously tugged at the bee’s wing, ”How do we know that you’re the real deal here? You could easily be lying to us!”, he shouted. Espio hopped down from the tree and grabbed the Beedrill by the neck, quickly revealing his presence, “Because, I wouldn’t lie about something like death you insect! If you don’t believe me, fine, just stand around and watch as your friends and family are slaughtered by an enemy that you’ve never even seen before; just remember that I warned you and your giant ego was all that stood between your people and the chance to live to see the next sunset!”, he threatened in an oddly harsh tone. The Beedrill shivered nervously before reluctantly nodded his head, ”Y-You might have a point there… urm, we’ll start alerting the others like you said. Anything else that you’d like us to do?”, he asked.

The Kecleon grinned, ”You can talk to your Sandslash friend if you need further instructions… though, I admit that my psychic power isn’t strong enough to send the whole community without help, and I’ll need you to be certain that everyone gathers together as I won’t have enough strength to teleport any second groups”, he replied. Um… well I think St. Isaac has a spare Psychic Gem in his quarters, I would think that that would be a good place to start”, the Scyther stated who seemed to be intimidated by the Kecleon. Espio released his grip on bee Pokémon and allowed the two of them to return back to the village. Returning invisible, Espio dashed into the village and managed to locate St. Isaac’s specially made home, which was physically larger and more extravagant than any other home. He searched throughout the entire building until he finally came across a large purple gem, he could sense the psychic power that the gem held from just holding it, ”It looks like this gem will only work for a single psychic attack, I’d better make it count”, he muttered.

As he stepped out of the building, he sensed a dark presence hanging around him. A voice chuckled at him, as if the Kecleon had done something amusing, ”Well, my lord was right when he sensed you coming Espio. Though I must admit, you have some nerve to steal from my master’s own home! I shall certainly make you pay for that, I wonder how pleased my lord would be if I brought to him your disembodied soul…”, he threatened. Espio leapt away from the building, slightly surprised that he was seen despite being invisible; when suddenly there was a sharp pain in his legs, causing the Kecleon to fall over. The voice revealed itself to be Thane who chuckled excitedly, though Espio had no clue that St. Isaac had a third guard that was tagging along with him. ”I’m sorry but have we met?”, he asked, slowly regaining feeling in his legs. Thane grinned, ”No, but Lord Isaac has talked much about you”, he replied. Espio jumped back to his feet and changed into a light green color, becoming a bug type Pokémon, before using X-Scissor on the ghost Pokémon, knocking him backwards.

The Banette chuckled once more and pulled out a poison barb from the shadows, ”Do you know about a special ability that’s shared with all Banette after they evolve from their previous form Shuppet, Espio?”, he asked. Espio gave him a confused look but readied himself for any kind of attack, ”No I guess you wouldn’t, it’s not exactly common knowledge. All Banette are able to stab our bodies like a voodoo doll, and I have my sights aimed at you. An enemy of St. Isaac is an enemy worth destroying, but I’ll just have to do the next best thing….”, he said aiming the poison barb at himself. Espio quickly dashed at the ghost Pokémon, but couldn’t stop Thane from stabbing the barb right into the spot where his heart would be, stopping the Kecleon dead in his tracks.

Espio clutched at his chest and felt a serious burning sensation; he started coughing and fell to the ground. Thane causally walked over to the Kecleon and grinned maliciously at him, watching as the reptile was beginning to cough up blood. The Kecleon couldn't believe that he wasn't prepared for a Banette to be assisting St. Isaac and now he was paying the price for his carelessness. He could barely breathe and Thane was merely smiling and chuckling the entire time, as if he had planned this to happen. ”How’s that poison to the heart feeling right now? Oh I do hope it hurts, maybe I should stab some lungs as well, what do you think?”, he asked, before kicking the reptile aside.

With the situation at hand becoming increasing more intense, Quincy questioned whether or not now was the time to act. He casted a worry glance toward Rani, wondering if this indeed was Syn’s mate. Or rather on-off girlfriend. Quin mentally face palmed himself about never inquiring more into Syn’s love life…and the simple fact that the daredevil Sneasel seemed to have one should have boasted even more suspicion. Well she looked like the picture he had seen before Syn abruptly yanked the photo away from his hands. The feather was the right color and looked to be at the correct angle. And the likelihood of coming across a Shiny Sneasel was fairly low. But did it really matter? A Sneasel was in danger and he should try to save her…But it’s not like he was in an ideal position to save either one of them.

Watching him go through Rani’s mind was not only unnerving, but down right wrong. Ugh, talk about invading one’s privacy. St. Issac seemed right at home, pillaging though her mind picking up tidbits of information. Quincy wondered if it was better than it was someone else getting the brunt of St. Issac attention instead of him. The Croagunk pretended to be afraid…okay he didn’t have to pretend that much but he was getting over his crippling fear.

“Hmm, you’re Rani correct? That other love bird that was teamed up with Annabelle and those other Pokémon?” St. Issac muttered and Quincy stored this information as he inched backwards to a further corner away from St. Issac.

”Ugh! My head…” Rani mumbled as she flopped onto the floor. The Pink Sneasel rubbed her temple and leaned against his cage to recover. Quincy moved towards her, maybe a conversation would him decide what to do.

”Hello. Just relax, now. I think I have a berry that might help you. Help is coming, yes? Help me stall him and we will break out. I have a plan.” Quincy muttered softly to Rani reaching into his bag for a berry. He doubt any berry would help her but maybe the thought would give her some comfort. She nodded in acknowledgement to his plan beforethe plan was in effect.

”Espio? What does he matter to you? Is he your rival or something? He mentioned something about you…being out of control.” Rani asked as she recalled some details before her abduction. She had no idea why the Croagunk would try to help her but she was grateful for it. His plan sounded good and she knew Syn wouldn’t leave her here. Despite everything between them, he wouldn’t leave her here.

”You mean you have a nemesis?” Quincy whipped out his sketch book and was ready to jot down notes about St. Issac enemy. Maybe he would reveal something that would be helpful. “Wow. You’re like a serious threat, dude. I thought you were off your rocker there but heck, dude, you are a serious criminal. Are you working with Plasma? You know the Pokemon liberators? They are trying to do the same thing as you but they are humans. “

Syn was three nanoseconds from darting of in obvious search of Rani. He would take down the whole community if he had too with his bare claws. He was about to storm off, find some body of water and cut loose. That was his plan before Zacael flew in front of his face and stop his forward progress. He seemed to know what Syn was going to do. Syn picked up his claw to knock against the Natu but was stopped mid swipe by Tryden’s psychic hold. Gritting his teeth, he was prepared to Ice Beam the bird to the coldest parts of hell.

”Syn you have to get a grip on yourself! If you go charging in, St. Issac may panic and hurt all his prisoners! All including Rani. You go charging in and you are playing into his hands. Zacael said in a calm voice. Calmer than he felt in this moment. He was angry and wanted to see to Rani’s and Annabelle’s safety but he held the think first and act second n the foremost part of his mind. He wasn’t surprised to see Syn erupt in an inferno of violence, after all it was in his nature. Zacael wondered why Espio had wandered and where he had gone.

”I feel…something is off…Zacael, do you feel that too. I fear something might have happened to Espio.” Tryden declared causing Zacael to puff up. Tryden caught that look in Zacael gaze that contain every suspicion he could place in that one look. I had nothing to do with his disappearance. Fate neither. Her presence is nowhere near him.

”If Espio is in danger, then we better not stand here and waste time chit-chatting. We are going to sneak in and free those Pokemon in the shed!” Zacael declared and Syn nodded in agreement. He looked at Xavier who had been oddly less talkative thant he other. ”Okay teams. Bruce and Sadie should stick together. Syn and Xavier, you two can watch out for each other. Tryden and I will be the last team. Alight. Tryden and I can create a distraction whilst the two teams ambush the shed. Get in there, get the girls out and get the heck outta there.” And with the plan laid out, Zacael and Tryden left the group

*_*_*_*_*_*_*

Syn looked at Xavier and tried to pull himself together. ”Zacael sure does know how to make a plan.” Syn commented in a voice that low and displays signs of being overly controlled. Syn was so far in the zone kicking behind that he doubt that he would sound anything less than a serial killer. He glanced at the Ledian who looked at worried abuot Annabelle as syn was about Rani. ” It’s all right. Just a few more minutes and then we our loves out of the grasp of St. Issac. Rani…Rani can take care of herself and she would never let anything happen to Annabelle. You know that. Syn told him feeling a tad better about this. Yes, he may hate her for doing whatever she has to do to keep Annabelle but that was Rani did.

”Let’s go Xavier. If St. Issac is in there, I swear on my future grand-Sneasels lives, that I was destroy that bastard. Syn vowed as he glanced at the community fort. From the corner of his eye, he could make out Tryden and Zacael floating over the top with a fair amount of stealth. ”For all that it’s worth. It’s been a swell time hanging out with you Xavier. A little less on the Pokemon trying to kill us would have been nice but hey, it was still a fun time. No matter what happens in there, promise me you’ll make sure Rani is safe.” Syn needed to know that if he did something crazy and reckless like try and fight St. Issac that Xavier would make sure Rani was safe.

*_*_*_*_*_*_*

Tryden and Zacael made their way over the community wall and was about to make their way to the furthest point away from the shed to divert the attentions of all the guards. Zacael was still perched upon his head and Tryden was moving with a smooth, graceful movements.

”I suppose I was stupid enough to believe that Tryden would keep you out of trouble.” They both heard the voice and froze in place. Fate was hovering a few feet away from them both with her arms cross over her chest and she sounded very anger and irritated.
”What are you doing here Fate? Are you ambushing the leader at the same time as us? Zacael asked and when Fate didn’t answer, that was all the answer Zac needed. ”Let us work together.” Zacael said and Fate looked at them both in one glare before she nodded yes.

SapphireChao15 - December 24, 2012 02:48 AM (GMT)
Espio struggled to get up on his feet after Thane’s attack, though the poison was certainly running its course through him and made things very difficult. “Why exactly do you serve under St. Isaac? He’s only pursuing this goal of his for the sake of gaining power, you’re just a pawn to him, nothing more”, Espio explained, only causing the Banette to laugh. “Shows what you know, St. Isaac intends to unify all Pokémon under a single ruler, you’re just too short sighted to see his grand vision for the future”, he replied,“And the reason I follow St. Isaac so loyally is none of your concern, though I’m quite sure that lord Isaac would be more than willing to let you join his grand cause”, he offered. The Kecleon scoffed, there was no way he ever work alongside St. Isaac. “You’re a fool for working with a power-hungry liar like St. Isaac”, Espio hissed, finally able to maintain enough balance to stand up.

Thane glare angrily at the Kecleon, he quickly used Shadow Ball at the weakened reptile who barely managed to dodge the attack. “Fine, be that way! I’m sure that Lord Isaac would much rather prefer you in the state of a harmless spirit after I’ve ripped your soul from your worthless body!”, he shouted as he dashed towards the Kecleon, his hands glowing dark purple. Still struggling to fight back the poison, Espio faintly dodged the attack, causing Thane to laugh at the reptile as he dashed at him again. The Kecleon quickly turned black and used Night Daze as Thane closed in, knocking him backwards; and while the Banette looked seriously hurt from the attack, he refused to stop smirking at the resourceful reptile. “Oh, so you want to fight me to the bitter end, huh? That’s fine; it’ll make it all the more satisfying when your soul is in the palm of my hand!”, he taunted. The ghost slowly walked towards Espio, who was barely able to stand upright from the poison, and Thane merely chuckled excitedly at the thought of winning. He then faded away until he disappeared, quickly causing Espio to feel even more alarmed than before, “N-NO! Where did he disappear to?! I can’t let it end like this, I just-!”, he thought when Thane suddenly appeared in front of him and shoved his glowing hand into the reptile’s chest, and abruptly froze Espio in place.

Thane chuckled again as he watched the fear in Espio’s eyes begin to form, tightly holding onto his soul in his hand and taking his time before he would rip it out from the Kecleon’s lifeless body. Espio was physically paralyzed and could hardly breathe now, “It looks like this is the end Espio… any last words before I bring your remains to Lord Isaac?”, he asked as he tightened his hold, causing Espio to fall to his knees in pain. It was then that he felt some vibrations in the ground, and he suddenly smiled at the ghost Pokémon. He weakly grabbed the arm that Thane had planted in his chest and smiled, “Actually, yeah… this battle’s far from over!”, he replied before coughing up a little blood. The Banette frowned and was about to end Espio’s struggle when an unexpected interloper leapt from the ground and knocked him aside, forcing him to release Espio’s soul as he was thrown aside like the rag doll that he was. Espio collapsed as a familiar Sandslash approached the weakened Kecleon, “Thanks for the assist, my friend. Another minute, and I would have most certainly been done for”, he praised before coughing more violently then before. The poison was rapidly killing him and he knew it; the Sandslash helped his friend up and faced the ghost with anger in his eyes. Thane returned the glare and frowned at the duo, “You’re only delaying the inevitable! And YOU! How dare you turn traitorous against Lord Isaac! I’ll have your head for this insolence!”, he threatened.

The Sandslash merely spread out his claws, ready to fight, when he realized that Espio was looking more sick by the minute, “That’s right! If I don’t finish the job, then my poison WILL! Espio will be dead in a matter of minutes, unless the two of you surrender! I can easily remove the poison!!”, he shouted, a wicked smile spread across his face. Espio kept his hand near his heart, feeling the burning getting worse, “I-I don’t know what I should do… I’m too weakened to even think straight”, he thought faintly.

----------------------

Bruce couldn’t help but feel astonished at the thought of Espio already being in danger, why did he run off without any back-up?! “Sadie and I will go assist Espio then, we’ll meet up with you guys afterwards”, he replied, “Oh, Xavier? Do you have some spare berries that we can borrow, in case Espio’s in serious trouble?” The Ledian pulled up his bag and smiled, “Yeah, here take a couple”, he said as he pulled out a large handful of assorted berries and handed it to the large bug Pokémon. “You’d better not be late getting to the shed, you guys have as much of a right to knock that Kadabra around as the rest of us!”, he said with a wink. Bruce smiled when he suddenly spotted two Pokémon from the community running away from the shed with alarmed looks on their faces and could tell that something was up. He then looked back at Syn and Xavier and grinned, “You two better be careful when you get to the shed, and save some action for us when we catch up with ya!”, he added before dashing off into the community. Sadie hesitated a little before waving bye, “Good luck then, if you see St. Isaac before we get back, give him a good thrashing for us”, she said cheerfully. She quickly followed after the Heracross and called out to him, “Bruce? Where do you suppose Espio is?”, she asked before noticing a Banette and Sandslash staring each other down, “Sadie look! There’s Espio! And he looks like he’s been hurt, c’mon!”, he said as he dashed towards the battle.

“Espio! Hang on, we’re here to help!”, Bruce called out, catching the Kecleon’s attention. He slowly faced the duo, barely able to keep himself up, “Bruce? Sadie? N-No, stay back, Thane is capable of- ugh…”, he warned before collapsing. Thane chuckled at the sight and watched as the Sandslash continued to be a wall between him and the barely conscious reptile. “Ooh, more souls to collect for Lord Isaac… how exciting!”, he muttered happily. Bruce quickly helped Espio up and laid out the berries on the ground, “Espio, please tell me what’s wrong! Are you paralyzed, exhausted, poisoned?!”, he asked frantically. The Kecleon coughed up more blood and could barely speak; he instead raised his hand and showed the Heracross three fingers before coughing again. Bruce quickly grabbed a Pecha berry and tossed it into Espio’s mouth, slowly curing him of his poison. Wiping the blood off his mouth, Espio smiled at Bruce, “ You’re timing is impeccable, Thane… he’s able to poison you just by jabbing a poison barb into himself. Don’t let him get too close to you, or else he will attempt to pull out your soul, leaving your body an empty husk”, he warned as Brice handed him an Oran berry. Feeling his strength slowly return to him, Espio managed to stand on his own feet and faced off against Thane, who looked deeply angered at this turn of events. “You shouldn’t be standing right now… how dare you interfere, you pathetic insect! Both you and your little weed friend will pay dearly for this, how about I give you a taste of real pain, hm?”, he stated crossly as he pulled up his shadow. He quickly pulled out a familiar poison barb and grinned, only to watch as Espio fired his long tongue at it, wrapping it up, and pulling it out of the ghost’s hands.

The Sandslash intercepted the ghostly barb and held it tightly between his claws, “I’m afraid that I can’t let you try that again, Thane”, he said as he nodded his head at the Sandslash, who in turn, crushed the item between his claws and watched as the barb disintegrated into nothing. Thane looked downright outraged at the Kecleon, as he was clenching his teeth and balling his hands into fists, “That’s the final straw Espio! You don’t have the slightest clue on what it took for me to get that ghost poison barb! Well that’s it, I’m through playing games with the likes of you! Lord Isaac will just have to punish me for disobeying orders, I’m going to kill you right here and now!”, he shouted furiously.

The Banette then ignored the presence of the others and charged right towards Espio, who merely smirked. He suddenly disappeared before the ghost using Extreme Speed, causing Thane to suddenly hesitate as the reptile vanished. Espio then appeared behind Thane and turned dark blue, “Not so easy to hit when I’m at full strength, am I Thane?”, he asked before firing a powerful Hydro Pump at him, knocking him into a tree. Espio chuckled a little and turned back to his allies, bowing his head before them, “Words cannot express my gratitude for all of your arrivals, I’d have been done for if you all hadn’t shown up when you did”, he said. Bruce and Sadie both smiled, “Glad to be of help Espio, but why didn’t you wait for us to help you invade the community?”, he asked. Espio cleared his throat nervously, “Um, well… I’m afraid to say, but my arrogance clouded my judgment, and I underestimated the strength of St. Isaac’s followers”, he explained, “ Now, I’d like to ask you to accompany me while I help the community escape St. Isaac’s control”, he added. Sadie and Bruce nodded their heads while the Sandslash cautious glanced back at Thane, “Don’t worry, the community will be gone long before Thane can strike back. Besides, he’s not one to fight a whole tough team of Pokémon like ourselves”, Espio reassured as he reclaimed the Psychic Gem.
--------------------------

St. Isaac felt his ear twitch as the Croagunk whispered to Rani, something about stalling and having a plan. The Kadabra chuckled at the thought, ”Espio? What does he matter to you? Is he your rival or something? He mentioned something about you…being out of control”, Rani asked the psychic Pokémon, “Alright, I’ll indulge you and your ‘stalling’ tactic. And really, Espio said that I am out of control?”, he replied as he paced slightly, “ Espio and I go way back, I knew him in a past life before I became who I am today. Heh, it’s amusing, but he finds blame in himself for the human experiment that should have ended my life… well, I did die that day, and Arceus brought me back…”, his voice trailed off, as if he was struggling to concentrate.

His control over Annabelle’s mind wavered just enough for her to free herself. The Butterfree collapsed to the ground, struggling to recall what had happened and where she was; she quickly realized that she was still St. Isaac’s prisoner, and now Rani was captured by him too! R-Rani…?”, she called out weakly, “Ugh, my head is pounding… what’s going on?”, she asked.

St. Isaac frowned, but he no longer cared about maintaining control over the Butterfree, for some reason he found himself drowning in old memories of his past life, of Team Galactic, the experiment that changed his life, and of course Espio, the only Pokémon that ever showed him a shred of kindness. He shook the thoughts away, if he kept this up, he’d lose control of the situation and then have to actually fear a possible failure. ”You mean you have a nemesis? Wow. You’re like a serious threat, dude. I thought you were off your rocker there but heck, dude, you are a serious criminal. Are you working with Plasma? You know the Pokémon liberators? They are trying to do the same thing as you but they are humans“, the Croagunk asked, pulling the Kadabra further away from the memories.

“I suppose you could say that, Espio doesn’t exactly approve of my methods of maintaining control over my subjects. I suppose that he feels that stealing Pokémon souls and twisting them around is “immoral” to him or something”, he replied with a smirk, “And the day that I work with any humans will be the day that I die, I will make them pay for their acts against Pokémon kind!”, he hissed angrily, his eyes glowing a blood red color. He suddenly paused and regained his composure once more, “But I see nothing wrong with using these humans to my advantage. But if this Team Plasma is anything like Team Galactic, I will see to it that every human in that uniform burn eternally, both in life and death!!”, he threatened.

Something felt off now, St. Isaac could feel his emotions get the better of him. He was more distracted than usual and he rarely ever had angry outbursts like the one he just had. Before he could think about the situation further, a shiny Illumise burst in through the door with a panic expression, “St. Isaac, sir, Espio has just teleported the entire community away using your Psychic Gem!”, she explained. “That clever reptile…”, he muttered before facing the shiny bug, “No matter, collect my team from their posts. A community of Pokémon that size shouldn’t be too difficult to locate”, he ordered. The Illumise hesitated a little, “Um sir, what about the Butterfree?”, she asked. St. Isaac looked back at Annabelle, who was still feeling rather weak, “Leave her, I’ve only been back at this park for but a short while and I’ve already grown tired of this chase. Besides, both her and the Sneasel have others waiting for them”, he replied, giving the two a genuine smile, “Seeing as the community that collected you all and wanted bloodshed is no longer around, I see no further reason for keeping you prisoner. Oh, and if any of you see this Fate that I’ve been hearing so much about, tell her that I’ll be waiting for her”, he concluded before teleporting away with his bug follower. Annabelle blinked in confusion, recalling that she heard that it was St. Isaac that planned on execution. She then concluded that it was just a sign of the Kadabra’s unstable mental health, which would explain his bizarre mood shifts.

--------------

”Zacael sure does know how to make a plan”, Syn said as the bird finished giving out orders. Xavier nodded his head in agreement, “Yeah, you’re telling me”, he replied, feeling as pumped as ever to save his love. He couldn’t stand just standing around, ” It’s all right. Just a few more minutes and then we our loves out of the grasp of St. Isaac. Rani…Rani can take care of herself and she would never let anything happen to Annabelle. You know that., the Sneasel reassured. Xavier smiled at Syn’s words, feeling a little better, “Y-You’re probably right Syn, in a few more minutes, everything will all be so much better; Rani and your friend will be safe from harm, and Annabelle….”, he paused, suddenly realizing that Annabelle probably still thought that he meant the horrible things that St. Isaac had made him say to her. The thought of her hating him for his previous actions suddenly frightened him and he was losing confidence in his own abilities. He stepped back a little and looked back towards Syn, “Hey Syn, I-I’m suddenly not feeling so sure about this. W-What if Annabelle says that she never wants to see me again?”, he quickly asked as his body shivered a little.

He tried to collect his thoughts and regain his nerve, “No Xavier, listen to yourself! Are you honestly suggesting that you should just leave Annabelle instead of risking your feelings for her?! You can do this; Annabelle is likely to believe that you were under St. Isaac’s influence”, he rationalized to himself. He then returned his attention back on Syn, ”For all that it’s worth. It’s been a swell time hanging out with you Xavier. A little less on the Pokémon trying to kill us would have been nice but hey, it was still a fun time. No matter what happens in there, promise me you’ll make sure Rani is safe”, he stated. Xavier gave Syn a weak smile, “It’s been great working alongside you too Syn. I say that when this is all over, we all just get together and relax, being as far from this horrible place as physically possible!”, he replied with a chuckle, “Yeah, Rani will be safe, but know that I’ll have your back when we storm into this place. And you can tell your grand-Sneasels yourself what happened on this day”, he added before preparing to head into the community.

“Fate, I suppose you have some sort of plan for St. Issac?” Tryden asked as he floated along side the lady. Despite everything that had gone down in the Poke Park, Tryden still felt something towards her. He knew he shouldn't have abandon her but he really didn't have any other choice. Damn Poke police had to come after him when they did. Tryden knew that their relationship wasn't great. Fate was too damn clingy and possessive. Female basically dug her mental claws into you and made sure you never strayed even after you broke up with her. She was high maintenance in the highest regard but Tryden still felt guilty about stuff. Tryden had accepted it the break up and didn't want anything resembling physical around her but he just had to be an idiot when it came to her.

Zac turned his head to Fate also wondering the same question. As many flaws that Fate had, he knew she didn't rush into a situation unless there was some way to turn it into one that benefits her. And Zac had been in a lot of those situations.

“Well I hoping to explain the situation here in Poke Park where he understands the dynamic which I have created where I am on the top and he and his ass is booted out of here and bounces off Deoxys on his way to another planet where no one gives a shit about his so call 'mission from Arceus',” Fate told them both with a grin. She loved how she could put together a plan like that and know Tryden won't tell her shit. Not like it matter. She could careless if he was alive, dead, or thrown into Darkrai's world. Hell Syn and his stupid girlfriend could join him too. Ah yes, roast in hell you ice types. Oooo even the pests that he calls friends can roast in hell too.

Zac peered at Fate as Tryden hovered in pace with her. Something didn't feel right. When did she ever easily accept his help? ” Fate, why do you want us there with you? You scared of St. Issac?”

Fate scoffs and harrumphs him before replying. ”What you fail to understand, hatch-ling, is that I fear no one. But you at least catch on quicker than other Pokemon here. You guys are my back-up. You know in case St. Issac minions decides to jump me or something. Besides it looks much more intimidating if I have a band of males who should do everything in their power to protect me.” She told them both noticing how Tryden stiffen, clearly uncomfortable with the idea of protecting her. ” Before you say anything Tryden, know that I know that you won't let anything happen to Zac. And Zac won't let anything happen to me. So therefore, logically, you wouldn't let anything happen to me.”

Before long the trio made their way to St. Issac. Zac sighed as Fate strode up to the airbag leader and prayed that he could contain this woman. And prayed that Fate didn't destroy Tryden in the process.

Syn shrugged as Xavier second guessed himself. ” Bro, you need to understand that if Rani can kind of forgive me and I wasn't under anyone's control. I mean a was for a little bit but I was a complete ass to her before. My point is Annabelle will forgive you. She's pretty understanding,” Syn struggle to assure the Ledian but thinks that he failed in that department. Rani was always better. Razel was great at that too. He...not so much.

He chuckled as Xavier came around and looked better and much more comfortable with the present situation. Well as comfortable as one could be given the circumstances. ”Oh Arceus, if my grand chillings are anything like me, I don't think I want them to know. Syn remarked as he shoved the thought of having Sneasels himself. He wasn't father material.

He breached the community wall and hurried to the shed with Xavier following behind. Most of the community had disappeared it seemed. Syn wondered absently if Espio had anything to do with that. ”You okay back there?” Syn asked as he waited for Xavier to catch up. He barely could contain himself. He allowed Xavier to take the lead.

Quincy grasped the situation as St. Issac left. He glanced at Rani who looked inches away from a melt down. He took a breath. St. Issac suddenly left them to their devices. He could have at least opened the cage door on his way out, the Croagunk thought wryly as he noticed that Rani had collapsed on the floor. ”Rani? Are you okay?”

Rani looked at the toad who seemed to care and gave him a pained smile. She felt awful on the inside. She wasn't used to all of this. This was too much. Tethering on someone else's mercy. This is why she went alone on her home mountain. ” Yes, I'm a bit shaken up. What about you Annabelle? You okay?”

Quincy was happy to hear this and smiled. ” Annabelle, its a pleasure to meet you. I mean I would like to meet you some place else outside of a cage. I'm not saying that you aren't a nice person and that anywhere I could meet you would be considered a privilege. But this isn't a nice place to meet someone. Once again you make it nicer and Rani too but I-”

” We understand,” Rani said with a small laugh. Quincy was quite amusing. And adorable. ”We'll get you out of there somehow.”/ Rani tried to use an ice attack on bars but to no avail.

A loud thud is what drew Rani's and Quincy's attention to the door. Rani nearly wept in happiness to see Syn in his fighting stance looking around as if waiting for someone to jump him. ”It's all clear.” Syn called out to...Xavier, she realized as the Ledian appeared behind Syn.

”Papa Syn! Aren't you a sight for sore eyes? Quincy exclaimed as syn rushed over to both of them. He stopped a bit short of taking Rani in his arms...since she was giving him a death glare.

”Hello Rani and Quincy. I see your okay too Annabelle! Okay, we'll talk after we get out of here. Quincy step back,” Syn declared a bit rushed because he knew he saw questions in Rani's eyes.

*_*__*_*__*_*_*__*

” So you're St. Issac,” Fate said looking up and down at St. Issac. She was rather unimpressed and she let it show. She noticed that Tryden looked a bit uncomfortable and Zac looked like he rather be anywhere by here. ”It seems it has come down to this, hasn't it? So were is this lavish final battle I have been waiting for? Hmm? Is that it?” she gestured to his few guards stationed around him.

Zac inwardly groaned as Fate baited the other Pokemon. ”Tryden,we must keep her under control. You know, if we want to leave here sometime in the soon and not like in the eons after this.”

SapphireChao15 - May 26, 2013 08:58 PM (GMT)
With a flash of light, St. Isaac appeared before a few of his followers, who were waiting at the rendezvous point at his orders, “It’s good to see that you are here so quickly, we are about to be greeted by the one who teleported that community, with us in it, here”, he began. His followers were well trained fighters, alongside Thane and Topaz; there was Donovan, a Sawk that quite frankly looked like he wanted to be anywhere but here, Bradley, a cheerful Makuhita, and Katherine, a Gothorita, who looked nervously at St. Isaac. The Kadabra frowned when he realized that one member was still missing, “ Topaz… I thought that I told you to gather everyone, and yet, I’m counting one that’s missing. How annoying…”, he stated coldly, rubbing his hand against his forehead irritably. The shiny Illumise fluttered towards him nervously, “M-My sincerest apologies sir, b-but when I reached Damien’s post, he was nowhere to be found!”, she explained.

The Kadabra let out a sigh at this but he knew why the Krokorok would do something like that, “It would seem that Damien is hoping to make his grand entrance when Fate arrives… ooh I do hope that he doesn’t do anything stupid”, he replied. He casually approached a nearby tree and took a seat on the grass, slowly levitating himself up so that he could meditate while waiting for their upcoming guests.
~~~
Xavier smiled at Syn, feeling downright grateful for his kind words of encouragement. Quite frankly, he was tired of always feeling so weak and pathetic, this was his chance to finally prove to himself that he was more than capable of helping those that he loved, especially Annabelle. As the duo dashed into the community, the Ledian felt concerned that there was no sight of any of the crazed Pokémon wandering around, but pushed the feelings aside to focus on the rescue mission and taking down St. Isaac. He felt excited at the thought of showing that know it all Kadabra that emotions and thoughts are not toys to be played with, and he was eager to punch that smug jerk right in the face with all his might.
”You okay back there?”, Syn asked, snapping the Ledian out of his thoughts. He hadn’t realized that he had slowed down as he anticipated the upcoming fight against St. Isaac and whatever minions he has guarding the prisoners. “ Y-Yeah, I’m fine Syn. Let’s show this guy what happens when he abducts our friends!”, he replied as Syn kicked the door wide open.
~~~
Annabelle was still trying to fully understand what had just happened, she was taken by St. Isaac and was under his control until he suddenly felt the need to just teleport away. Fate was still on her way to possibly end both Rani and herself, and she still had no idea if Xavier was ever going to come back for her. She wanted to weep so badly as all these horrid thoughts passed through her mind, but she honestly felt a little tired of all the crying that she had been doing. She was so weak, so helpless, so… worthless. She was just a pathetic little bug that was way in over her head, who was sheltered all her life and never had to worry about anything. And now she was dealing with all this craziness, it was all too overwhelming for her. Rani suddenly broke these thoughts away when she called out the Butterfree’s name, “What about you Annabelle? You okay?”

Her question was soon followed by Qunicy, ” Annabelle, it’s a pleasure to meet you. I mean I would like to meet you someplace else outside of a cage. I'm not saying that you aren't a nice person and that anywhere I could meet you would be considered a privilege. But this isn't a nice place to meet someone. Once again you make it nicer and Rani too but I-”, he began to say before rambling a little. “I-It’s nice to meet you Quincy, I wish t-that this was under better circumstances though”, she replied quickly.

Annabelle wasn’t entirely sure how to respond to Rani though, should she bottle up these feelings and stress and lie that she was feeling alright? Or just cut the act and maybe get some help while possibly worrying her dear friend Rani. She fought back the urge to sob hysterically and shook her head side to side, “N-No, I don’t think so Rani. I feel downright awful, I’ve just been a burden for everyone all day. Xavier has had to throw himself into the line of fire to protect me constantly, and all I’ve been able to do is cry, get in the way and get abducted. I’m such an idiot!! I’M SO PITIFUL!! I’m nothing but a pretty face that always needs a knight, and I don’t think that I even deserve what I have. Xavier would be better off and live longer without me always getting in the way!”, she explained as she weakly fell to the floor, feeling completely wretched for bothering Rani with her pathetic little problems.

There was a sudden pound on the door and a familiar Sneasel leapt in, quick to take his fighting stance, but when Xavier spotted Annabelle practically collapsed on the floor, he dashed in without a second thought to help her up, “Annabelle!! Hold on, help is here!”, he comforted as he hugged her tightly, “A-Annabelle, I’m so sorry for those awful words that came out of my mouth, I swear on my life that they were not really mine. I would be nothing without you, please…please tell me that you’re not hurt”, he told her, his voice getting a little shaky. The Butterfree returned the hug with tears in her eyes, grateful to see the Pokémon that she loved so dearly before her, “O-Oh Xavier, I’m so glad to hear you say such a thing. I was so afraid that your love for me had faded and that I would never see you again. I… I wish that I was stronger so that you wouldn’t have to keep hurting yourself to rescue me… I’m so helpless and… i-if you were ever severely hurt protecting me, I wouldn’t know what to do. I’m sorry, I’m so sorry-“, she said trying her best not to sob in Xavier’s arms, she was trying her best to be stronger for him, but her body was shivering from all the terror that she was feeling. This was all too much for the sheltered little Butterfree. “You have no reason to apologize my love, I will always be here for you from here on out. If you wish to become stronger, than I will gladly help you. Right now, all I care about is that you’re safe and out of that monster’s hands. Do you have any idea when he ran off to my love?”, he asked her. She shook her head, “N-No, he teleported away after Espio sent the other villagers packing with some teleporting skill”, she replied.

” So you're St. Issac,” , a voice stated coldly, causing St. Isaac to lift a single eye open to notice that Fate was a Beheeyem, and a fairly young looking one at that. ”It seems it has come down to this, hasn't it? So where is this lavish final battle I have been waiting for? Hmm? Is that it?”, she asked him in a threatening tone. The Kadabra chuckled at the “child”, this was the Fate that he had been hearing about all day, the same one that teleported the whole community just to screw around with some insects and hopefully use as a tool to deal with her enemies? What a joke. “So you’re Fate?? I must say, you’re certainly not what I was initially expecting after all the talk that I’ve heard about you from this wretched little park. You’re a lot… younger than I imagined, but then again I’m sure that your species is quite capable of creating powerful psychic Pokémon so I suppose that I shouldn’t underestimate you”, he replied calmly as he slowly returned to the ground from his meditating and gave the little Beheeyem his full attention. He tilted his head at her accomplices, another Beheeyem and a Natu, interesting choices for someone hoping to pick a fight.

“Hmph, you really came all this way to try and fight me? You must be joking, you and I both have much better things to do than pointlessly battle for something as trivial as what? Territory? You can have this hellish park if you’d like. Or perhaps for superiority? What a pathetic display, I have no interest in fighting a mere child! As I’ve heard, weren’t you after some group of Pokémon that resisted your attempted takeover, shouldn’t you be putting your energy on that? Well whatever, I will not indulge your childish behavior by fighting you, quite frankly I have a collection of Kanto Pokémon that I need to reclaim…”, he replied formally.

“Aww, does that mean that I went to all this trouble for nothing?”, a voice called out. Suddenly the ground shook slightly and a large Krokorok leapt out of the ground with a disappointed look on his face, “Oh well, I guess that I’ll just have to wait until next time for an ambush then”, he added before glancing at the little psychic Pokémon that stood before St. Isaac. The Kadabra shot the dark Pokémon a glare for his late arrival, but chuckled quietly as Fate’s “minions” voiced their own plan to keep her in line, ”Tryden, we must keep her under control. You know, if we want to leave here sometime in the soon and not like in the eons after this” He turned his focus to the Natu, “Well I suppose that that’s up to miss Fate here, since I’ve already made my point clear”.

”Rani, I can explain-” Syn managed to say before Rani threw up a claw to silence him. She gave him an icy glare that made the mountains where he grew up seem like a hot desert. He gulped down a breath of air, trying to put words together that she would understand and not be angry with her.

”Not now,” She said slowly trying to maintain her composure. She gestured to the Croagunk who was staring at them both now, deciphering their body language and what was going on. ”Hang on, a second,” Rani told the Croagunk as she took a step back and surveyed the cage trying to identify where the latch was. The cage had a door off to the side and Rani found the hinges to be rusty and very weak. She dispatched a few attacks that caused the door to fall open.

”Oh thank you!” Quincy said running over to hug Rani before dashing though the open door and to Syn. ”What are you doing here? I thought you were on the mountains of your youth. And you know what I mean by that, right? The mountain of disownment! Oh and by the way, is this the Sneasel you were telling Lucian about? And WHY would you even tell the Toxicroak about lady issues? Does it seem like he knows how to handle issues like that? You see, Syn, when you got lady issues, you've got to come to the Doctor of Relationship who would be me! Anyways, what the heck is going down in the Pokepark? I thought this was a nice relaxing place. I thought I could relax and unwind by that pond I saw but no clearly, I was wrong. I thought I was gonna die, Syn. DIE. Let me tell – ”

Syn watched Rani, not paying much attention Quincy was saying. For all he knew, Quincy was telling him the answers to the universe and he would never know. Rani had come back during the part of the rant directed at the mountains. She seemed to amused by the piece about relationship advice. Syn nearly slashed at Quincy during that part. ”Quincy, take a breath.”Shut the hell up if you know what is good for you. Syn thought as he glanced at the floor instead of making eye contact with Rani. He waited for her questions.

”How did you two meet?”

”Quincy lives in the forest outside of the headquarters. I met him and his roommate, Lucian, one day when I was out.” Syn tells her. He reaches out to take her claw in his. He is a bit hesitant but is tremendously relieved to Rani does not swat him away.

”You know, I got invited to this shin-dig. If this is how these Pokemon treat visitors as greetings, I do not want to know what their parties must look like. Pokemon must be losing limbs left and right. Definitely not going. I like my legs. I heard that some Pokemon think frog legs are tasty. Jeez, you think Pokemon would be more sensitive to who they are talking to. I bet Lucian would use Banquo to smack sense into these people. . . Quincy mumbled as he packed his bag correctly. Syn made an exasperated face as Quincy launched into a second rant about why Banquo needed to be thrown away. He did move away from them trying to look for something St. Issac had his minions take away.

Both Sneasels were silent for a bit, watching Xavier and Annabelle talk. Glimmers of their conversation floated over to the two Sneasels as they begun their own.

“. . . I swear on my life that they were not really mine. I would be nothing without you, please…please tell me that you’re not hurt. . . ”

”I'm so glad you guys showed up when you did.” Rani told Syn. She turned to Syn as she took in his confused expression. For a moment she didn't know how to voice her fears. Her concerns. Her worries. She sometimes felt that Syn was not the Sneasel for her and yet at other times, the mere though of being with someone else scared her. ”I don't know how I would be able to comfort Annabelle. There are some things only one's beloved can help.”

”I'm sorry, Rani.”

Rani stared at Syn wondering what he was apologizing for. He seemed more interested in the ground. Or rather not looking at her directly. Every now and again, his eyes would meet hers before darting away again to look at something else. She tilted her head to the side and gestured for him to keep talking with her claw. Syn looks flustered. He looked like he did not know what to say. Then again, she had never really demanded any kind of explanation before.

“. . . O-Oh Xavier, I’m so glad to hear you say such a thing. I was so afraid that your love for me had faded and that I would never see you again. . .

” I should have been there with you. When you were trying to evolve. I should have
supported whatever decision you make. I was being selfish when I stopped you. I think I was scared, Rani. I only run when I'm scared,”
he told her softly. If Rani had not been standing next to him, he doubt she would have heard. She still clasped his claw so he looked at that. ”I thought that when you evolved. . .”Syn trailed off as he turned away.

”You thought I would not want you to be part of my life.” Rani finished as Syn nodded in agreement. She took a deep breath as she processed this. It made sense. Rani had come to the same conclusions but not with the same reasoning.

”. . . You have no reason to apologize my love, I will always be here for you from here on out. . . “

”I really, really hate to break up the romance going on here but need I remind ya'll that we are in the middle of the crazy Pokemon's lair. I say we hit the road running and get the heck away from here. And by here I mean Pokepark. There must be no place safe here. This places makes Lucian seem sane. And he thinks his mace talks to him. How about we head home? Yes? Yes.” Quincy said to them all as he slung his bag over his shoulder. The bag draped across his chest and the bag pouch was off to the side. He instantly regretted every word he just uttered based on the look that Syn gave him. It was one of pure death.

”Quincy is right. Despite the fact that St. Issac has fled, this community is still a threat to us.” Rani agreed right away as she noted the logic that she had grasp during her time at the Pokepark. “Where is Espio?” She asked Xavier. Rani glanced at Annabelle who looked better. In fact, the Butterfree was almost beaming.

”Let's get out of here. And stay together. Yes, Quincy that means you,” Syn told them all as he lead the way out of the shed. He was a bit surprise to find the place so empty but with their luck, he would not be that upset if something came out of nowhere and tried to kill them. ”We really should have set up a meeting spot or something.” Syn muttered to himself. He knew that it would be a while before he could even look at Rani without feeling guilty.

”Are you guys heading home now? Like why would anyone stay here after this all went down? But you have always been crazy Syn and I would not put it past you. Because I don't think I'm leaving the cavern for like another six months-”

”But what if a rock falls on you? Or someone tries to attack you?” Rani retorted with causing Syn to bit back a laugh.

”I suppose I should be flattered,” Fate said with a dismissive wave of her hand. She had been called worst in the house Graham considered great. ”Though this park does have some charming souls. Not everyone here is a complete asshole. And it's rather amusing to watch friends and newly formed relationship get tested by other and fail dramatically. I'm only sadden by the fact that I did not bring enough snacks.” She told St. Issac as she glanced back at the appalled look that Zacael gave her.

Fate merely watched as St. Issac called her a child. ”St. Issac, I do not understand why you insist on calling me a child The only child here is the hatch-ling ball here. Besides I am more of an adult then you considering I have completed my evolutions. Also, I was chasing the group which this nuisance of a community decided to take back that Butterfree thus forcing my hand here.” Fate explained noting that Tryden had floated closer to her side. A bit taken back by this she turned to notice that he had not floated closer to her but was trying to get a better view of the surroundings.

”Excuse me but refrain from speaking to the hatch-ling,” Fate hissed coldly. She was in no way showing any compassion for Zacael but she would not have Graham be upset with her for the hatch-ling's injuries. ”If you truly wish not to fight, then concede the community to me and I will allow your preachings to continue.”

”And what if he wants to speak with me?” Zac puffed in anger. She has used his age to many times and he was far to tried of her crap to take any more. Something that he could only identify as a reserve broke and like a dam, hateful remarks floated out. ”Are you afraid he might find what I have to say more appealing then what you could come up with? Are you upset that he will think that I am smarter than you, Fate? Is that what this is about? Because, I have news for you, bitch, you are stupid.” Zacael hissed before Tryden shoved him off his head. Tryden gave him a death glare when he rolled on the ground. “Go ahead and defend her then Tryden! You can't because that means you love her and you don't. No one does. How could anyone love anything life her? You know why Graham puts up with you? He's afraid that you will harm other Pokemon.”

”Stop it, Zacael. This is not the time nor the place. The lady-” Tryden was broken off by what he could only call a hate sounded chirp. Still he tried to reason with the normally logical bird, ”Zacael, this is not like you.”

”You listen up, St. Issac and listen well. You don't concede this community to Fate. You don't concede a damn inch to this female.” Zacael bit out, disgusted by the fact that Fate would destroy what others had just for amusement.

”Now that Zacael has finished his tantrum,” Her voice lacked her normal coolness. The words felt like it had been forced out and clogged with emotions. ”I await your answer.” she told St. Issac, holding her composure by a thread. As soon as this was over, Fate knew she would be sobbing on the ground. Not because Zacael had not only hit a nerve. . .but because he was right about everything.

Downright relieved to know that his beloved was physically unharmed, he continued to hug her as she shivered a little from the terror that she was feeling. “X-Xavier? Please, don’t be angry with my friends from this community… they genuinely care for one another and we used to be so peaceful. Sure, we were a little cautious of other Pokémon but only because we were all once attacked by a gang of evil Pokémon. We were so afraid of letting others in, so we just shut ourselves out and away from outsiders. It was only until St. Isaac arrived that everyone suddenly started to get so violent, so hateful for others not like them. I never understood it when I was younger, but now it’s clear to me… St. Isaac was using our fears to better control us”, she rationalized.

Xavier nodded his head at her, it made sense and it would explain how the Sandslash that he and Syn fought before would suddenly help them take down the community, “You say that Espio used a teleportation trick? I suppose that that would explain why the area is so deserted…", he paused, thinking back to St. Isaac’s awful mind tricks before suddenly returning his attention to Annabelle, “Annabelle, did St. Isaac hurt you? Mentally? Emotionally? What did he do while you were his captive?”, he asked her.

Annabelle frowned and rubbed her head in confusion, trying to recall what had happened after she was caught, “I…I don’t think so. When St. Isaac knew that I was on to him, he used his psychic abilities to keep my mind quiet. I had zero control and was thrown into an empty darkness that could only see glimpses of light. T-To be honest… it was a cold loneliness that flowed through me that I couldn’t escape until St. Isaac just flat out tossed us aside for Fate”, she explained. Xavier helped Annabelle up to her feet as the Croagunk known as Quincy continued to panic. “Hey, Quincy is it? Would you mind telling me the exact details of how you came across St. Isaac and ended up imprisoned here?”, he asked, hoping to get some answers regarding St. Isaac, “What exactly was he trying to accomplish when he abducted you?? I mean, it’s clear that he had nothing but bad intentions in store for you, but what did he want from you?”, he asked.

He quickly turned his attention to Rani, “Where’s Espio?”, she asked him. Xavier tried to think, it was possible that he was still in the area if he seriously teleported so many Pokémon away; though it was just as likely that he could have teleported himself away to go after the evil Kadabra. “I can’t say for sure Rani. I’m sure that he’s wherever Bruce and Sadie are…”, he suddenly froze when he realized that someone from their crew was missing, “H-Hey wait a second… where’s Zacael? Syn, wasn’t he with us when we were about to enter the community??

~~~
After an exhausting battle and teleporting an entire community to a fairly far location, Espio felt ready to collapse, but he knew that he was far from done. “Ugh, alright now… now where’s St. Isaac at?”, he asked as he struggled to even think straight. Bruce quickly came to the Kecleon’s aid, “ Whoa man, I think that you need to take it easy. Your body is telling you that its’ had enough, you need to rest a little”, he tried to explain. Espio shook his head at the Heracross, “N-No way, I’ve come too close to just stop now! I’ve been tracking St. Isaac for weeks, this is the closest that I’ve been to him and I need to stop him before he can cause any more damage!”, he declared as he snatched a Sitrus berry and practically swallowed it whole.
The community was safe from St. Isaac’s hands, but it would only be a matter of time before he would track them down and reaffirm his control over them. If Espio could stop him now, then the community would be forever free from his rule and could live their lives in peace, and there was no telling how many other bands of Pokémon he directly controlled as he traveled. He had to be stopped, and Espio was the only one who could do it! He could feel a headache starting to form in the back of his head, but he couldn’t let something as trivial as that stop him. “Bruce, you and Sadie had better go check up on the others. I’ll run up ahead and locate St. Isaac-“, he began only to feel a sudden pull on his tail. Turning around, he saw Bruce frowning at him as he tightly held the Kecleon back, “I don’t want to come off as rude but what was it that you said earlier about how your arrogance clouded your judgment?”
Espio looked down and sighed heavily, the bug had a point and he couldn’t just throw caution to the wind hoping for another miracle, "Alright Bruce, you do have a valid point", he replied. Bruce released his tail and nodded his head, “Good to hear that you’ve finally regained your senses Espio. Now come on, the others are holed up in some shed to fight off-“, he suddenly paused realizing that something was up, “Wait a sec… why were you about to run off into the woods when the rest of the gang are supposed to be fighting St. Isaac in the shed to save Annabelle and Rani?”, he asked.
The Kecleon uncurled his tail sadly, “Er well… you see…”, he sighed, “When I had the psychic gem and teleported everyone away, I suddenly sensed St. Isaac’s presence here and in the shed like you thought but almost the second everyone was gone, I could tell that he was gone”, he admitted. Sadie glanced at the shed nervously, “Wait, but is it possible then that the gang did run into St. Isaac and he-?”, she guessed with a hint of dread in her voice. “Only one way to find out”, Bruce said as he grabbed Espio’s arm and dashed towards the shed with Sadie by his side.
As they hurried over to the shed, they were relieved to hear familiar voices and one not so familiar, ”I really, really hate to break up the romance going on here but need I remind ya'll that we are in the middle of the crazy Pokémon’s lair. I say we hit the road running and get the heck away from here. And by here I mean Pokepark. There must be no place safe here. This place makes Lucian seem sane. And he thinks his mace talks to him. How about we head home? Yes? Yes.”
”Quincy is right. Despite the fact that St. Isaac has fled, this community is still a threat to us. Where is Espio?” , Rani asked as the trio reached the shed’s entrance, “You all no longer have to worry about the community, they are as far from here as my teleporting abilities allow. The place is now completely empty, though I get the sense that Fate and her army is somewhere nearby, so we’re not out of danger just yet”, Espio explained, pulling his arm from Bruce’s claws. “Thank goodness that you guys are okay, for a second we were worried that you ran into St. Isaac or one of his powerful allies”, he began before a playful grin spread across his face, “’Cause this guy right here was in quite a jam with a crazy Banette until we showed up and gave him a helping hand”, he added as he pointed at Espio, who frowned and crossed his arms, “Hey now, I was poisoned! It’s not like I’m incapable or anything!”, he responded as his tail twirled around arrogantly.
He paused for a second, “Though I will admit that I had never seen a poison barb like the one he had before. And ripping a Pokémon’s soul straight from their bodies? What a horrid way to attack someone, what a horrible feeling it was”, he shivered for a second. Sadie merrily hopped inside the shed and stood beside Xavier and Annabelle, “Well St. Isaac’s gone now confronting Fate, so if we can sneak out of here without being spotted then we’ll have won today!”, she said cheerfully. Espio shook his head, “It might not be that simple I’m afraid. If anything all we’ve done is delay those two psychic Pokémon from their plans, and I doubt that either of them will just drop what they’ve been doing all this time. St. Isaac and Fate are probably fighting against each other or something and then they’ll return their focus on us… and St. Isaac didn’t even take any of you seriously…”, he stated grimly.
~~~
St. Isaac listened intently as Fate explained what her plan feeling genuinely interested in her reasoning for dragging a force that she knew virtually nothing about in hopes of using it to her own advantage. He watched as the Natu gave her a disgusted look and it was clear that he was not a real follower of hers.

”St. Isaac, I do not understand why you insist on calling me a child. The only child here is the hatch-ling ball here. Besides I am more of an adult then you considering I have completed my evolutions. Also, I was chasing the group which this nuisance of a community decided to take back that Butterfree thus forcing my hand here”, she added as the other Beheeyem moved slightly closer to her, “Perhaps you misunderstand me, when I refer to you as a child, I’m not talking about your physical age or even evolution… no a Pokémon can still be a child after they evolve. I’m mainly pointing out that only a child would wander into a park such as this and attempt a takeover just to get a male Pokémon to notice them, to use a type of mind control just for the sake of affection, and to freeze up physically because a rock was tossed in their direction. That is what I mean, you swear revenge on two female Pokémon… and why? Because one loves the same Pokémon as you and the other just happens to be content with her own life. Those are some pretty weak excuses to go after some Pokémon if I do say so myself”, he explained rather bluntly. He stood there contemplating on if he should continue when he heard Damien and Thane chuckle quietly at their boss’ response.

He was slightly surprised when Fate showed her disdain at the idea of him talking to the Natu, leading him to believe that there was some kind of connection between them that was certainly not on friendly terms. This was further proven as the bird finally huffed out in anger and practically exploded at her, St. Isaac looked back at his followers and most were enjoying the show aside from Katherine and Donovan. Katherine hated seeing such aggression and was a bit of a pacifist, while Donovan just wanted to leave and to stop wasting his time with all this nonsense. Splitting his attention from the argument in half, St. Isaac decided to have a quick conversation with the Gothorita, “Is something troubling you my dear?”, he thought to her through telepathy. The Gothorita jumped a little when she heard St. Isaac speak through her mind, she glanced at the ground shamefully before responding, “S-St. Isaac?! Oh… h-how embarrassing that my behavior was poor enough for you to have to directly talk to me while you’re confronting a possible threat”, she thought back. The Kadabra shook his head at her words, “Do not be ashamed of yourself my dear, I know that all this… conflict is a little too much for you but it was necessary for you to be here with me. If you’d like, I will give you an opportunity to try and seek peace in any way you see fit. Will that ease your mind?”, he asked. Katherine gave her boss a surprised look, but nodded back, “I… I would be utterly grateful for such a chance sir. I won’t let you down”, she replied.

Returning his full attention back onto the Natu’s rant, St. Isaac nodded his head intently as Zacael released his pent up anger at Fate who merely stood there and took it. He made a mental note that Fate and Zacael seemed to share a trainer and that it was clear that Fate was not a very welcome Pokémon on the team. Thane and Damien continued to chuckle as the other Beheeyem, referred to as Tryden, tried to talk some “sense” to Zacael, but he was clearly not in the mood to be talked down. The Kadabra slightly admitted that while the Natu’s words might be justified, it did seem to be a little harsh to being saying such things… especially in front of an unknown group of Pokémon that might take advantage of such a distraction, not that he would do something quite as underhanded as that. He chose to stay uninvolved until Zacael focused on him, “You listen up, St. Isaac and listen well. You don't concede this community to Fate. You don't concede a damn inch to this female”, he hissed. “Now that Zacael has finished his tantrum. I await your answer”, Fate added almost immediately, though she was clearly distressed by Zacael’s words.

St. Isaac tilted his head at her words, despite her emotional state, she was still determined to have a hold of the situation. He shook his head, “I’m sorry to disappoint you, but cannot simply hand over what I have worked so hard to gain”, he began calmly, “And I’m afraid that it’s a little more complicated than just because what’s mine is mine. The community that you seem to want is just something that you will not be able to fully handle, at least not in the way I’ve managed it. A bunch of Kanto Pokémon will never accept an outsider such as yourself, no matter how much psychic influence you throw over them, no matter how many lives you must take, no matter how terrifying you can make yourself appear… they will never let you rule them, they will fight to the very end. The only reason that I can get away with it is simply because I too come from the Kanto region. A community like that is more of a hassle than an asset for you, that I know for certain”, he explained.

Unable to handle the sight of seeing Fate look so miserable, Katherine quickly stepped forward and bowed her head before her, “Fate please, we don’t have to be your enemy! We don’t have to be at each other’s throats like this, please, accept St. Isaac’s answer as it is”, she raised her head and looked right at Fate, “You shouldn’t have to feel so bad about yourself Fate, you don’t have to feel so alone! Please Fate, I beg of you, do not engage us with violence. We would be more than willing to welcome you with open arms as an ally, we are an ally that can at least be trusted to not stab anyone in the back when they are at their weakest. We do not want a pointless battle, we only wish to unify and you won’t have to feel so alone anymore. Please…”, she said as she extended her hand out to Fate, “Please, will you be our friend? Will you be my friend?” As Katherine gave out her little peace offering, Donovan rolled his eyes at her, how naive to think that St. Isaac was anything but a power-hungry dictator. And a mental unsound one at that.

St. Isaac smiled at Katherine as she sought out the peace she so desperately wanted as Thane stuck his tongue out in disgust at the sight of such friendly behavior. He was kind of looking forward to a battle and ripping souls away, and the Gothorita was ruining those hopes. St. Isaac shot him a glare at his rude gesture and Thane nervously bowed his head and slunk back into the shadows. St. Isaac stepped closer to Katherine and put his hand on her shoulder, “Very well put Katherine! Well Fate, I guess that we’re now awaiting your answer”, he stated oddly cheerfully.
