this is the absolute first place you should stop after registering your character. inside you'll find all of the basic information like the rules, a brief plot explanation, member group descriptions, and other necessary reads. please be sure to take a look at everything in here before starting your application because we do some things a little differently here and it will be obvious if you don't. no worries it's all fairly short we aren't tyrants or anything. one more thing: welcome to only happy when it rains!

here is where the staff will post important updates on the site for you to read. it could include an announcement, coming event, asking your opinion on something, or spotlights should we choose to incorporate them a little later down the road. at least look over anything new that gets posted in here to be sure you don't miss out on something fun and exciting. we will do our very best not to bore you i promise.

in this area you will find useful information to you as a member including the various claims for your character (including the face claim), a list of who plays who, a topic covering what to do if you want to delete a character, and a helpful archive request for completed topics. it's entirely for you guys and expect more to be added as things grow.

you are now free to move about los angeles. whether your character is a tourist or a native of this beautiful city once the application is here you are golden as far as the site is concered. while applications can be edited we ask that it only be minor such as a name change or something of that nature. remember that stealing is rude and not tolerated. by that i mean don't take someone else's work but do feel free to admire it by reading the character files.

whore your character out baby! no really we absolutely mean that drama is the spice of life around places like this so make it happen. i don't know if i need to explain this area further with this area being fairly self explanatory for most of you. so what are you waiting for? throw up a shipping page and get yourself out there! remember to respond to others as well because really what's the fun in waiting around? exactly.

i know that a lot of people like to discuss plots over messengers but sometimes that's not plausible particularly with a large group of people. so once you get something thrown together you can use this forum to hammer out the details regardless of what it is. when we have boardwide events this forum will be used to plan that out as well and figure out a group situation for it.

at some point everyone needs someone a little special be it for love or hate or even family matters. this area is where you go to request them but we ask that you be mindful of other requests. if you can try to avoid double requesting faces and the like so we can avoid drama. who knows? maybe you could combine the request. also! please only bump your request(s) once every three days.

once you get more than a few going it's super easy to forget who you owe what to. for that purpose we have created this forum where you can post one thread per member to keep track of the all the threads for your various characters (or character). it's also sort of nice for plots to be able to find the old ones and see what has developed so far.

there are literally hundreds of ways to get your instant message on be it facebook chat or aim or msn or skype or...you get the point. aside from a cell phone it's probably one of the quickest and most convenient ways to have a conversation with someone. so come in here to have a chat with a friend, put yourself out there for a stranger, or plan something with a group. the sky is the limit. there is no need to sign up for anything just start a thread and chat to your little heart's content.

everyone in the world has some kind of phone though the most common is probably a cell but don't get too far ahead here. this isn't a place to show them off. it's not like people do that very often in real life so we've decided to leave that for the character development forums. this is where the real fun happens in the form of texts or calls between characters. so have fun and keep in touch without having to hunt for what you're looking for.

privacy doesn't exist. oh sure we all like to pretend that statement isn't true but we know better. someone is always watching you be it the government (for all you conspiracy buffs) or that creepy ass neighbor you've been praying will kick it already (for the rest of us). of course, that doesn't mean everything written on these four walls is true. rumors are certainly entertaining though the truth behind them is often very small and very skewed. that doesn't mean it's any less fun. so please for those of us who do like a little entertainment in our lives write something scandalous and dirty on the wall. let the world see what really goes on behind closed doors in los angeles.

this area is kind of self explanatory. all of the characters of ohwir can chat with each other for better or worst. remember! don't take anything that goes on in here personally because it's all in character. when you click the link it will redirect you to the chat box. all you have to do is put the url of your character image in the email/url area and you should be good to go. icon size for our chat is 100x100. no bigger or smaller.

when real life is in your way or a plot is moving a little too slow it can be helpful to have a quick little thread to fan the flames. this area isn't for regular threads but short 'rapid fire' posts. remember this shouldn't be your main area of play. it's just here to keep your muse flowing in times of need.

this area is for random conversation. you can literally say anything here as long as it's not detrimental to another character or member on the board. in other words we don't want to see anything negative going on in here. roleplaying is supposed to be about fun. this would be a good place to request graphics or ask for advice on your next great character if you need it.

i'm not even going to lie we all know that the icc games are love. it's a great way to further develop characters and just waste some time when muse is short or replies are all caught up. so, let's get to business shall we? i don't think i need to convince you of how fun these are.

everything and anything that is way too old to still be used is here. that includes both completed and incompleted threads from active and inactive characters. once a month we go through the board and clean it out to avoid clutter so if something was moved in error please pm an admin so we can fix it. usually that doesn't happen unless something hasn't been replied to in several days or weeks but you never know. mistakes happen.
