tongue.gif i put it in there cause i knew some of you oldies would post the classics and thought it would be best suited in the history area. but here is just as good.

i like some of the classics, but i preffer hardcore, emotive and screamo to most stuff. but hell can never beat a bit of queen when your drunk rolleyes.gif

Rather partial to a bit of Wagner or Beethoven

20's and 30's jazz, especially Bix Biederbeck and Cab Halloway

40's big band and swing, Glenn miller was the best of the bunch for me

Manic Street Preachers, The Prodigy, Nirvana, Hole, Mettalica, Iron Maiden, Guns and Roses.

these days I've sprouted off into a bit of Coldplay, Arctic Monkeys, Nelly Fertardo and Adele

But of course, when playing Napoleonic there is nothing to compare with the fife and drum, with some bagpipes now again. At the very respectable beat of 70 to the minute, Don't want any chaps racing around the field at 120, they get out of breath.

A bit too much information about Dylan there m8, lol.

I love the Mediaeval Baebes,
Ruts,
Kate Bush,
A bit of rave,
T. Rex,
Sweet,
pop that sounds good,
A bit of classical,

What I don't like is Country & Western, it does my head in.

Favorite music is Napoleonic military band music. THAT'S the ticket when playing anything seriously Napoleonic. Now if I only had my(PC)sound back.

What's wrong with my sound is that I pretty much don't have it. What may happen in a game is that I will get a short burst of sound when the game switches from one part of itself to another only to have the audio cut off. The fact that any sound plays tells me(rank amateur with computers though I am)that this is a software rather than a hardware problem. It's been like this since approximately the beginning of February. I don't worry about it too much since I don't need it to post messages which I do a lot(especially for me). Maybe it doesn't help that the speakers are integrated into the monitor. Thanks for asking in any case. Any ideas?

As you said, it sounds software related. I would start by removing your sound device from the hardware settings then allowing windows to re find it and in so doing reloading the software drivers. If this fails, reload the drivers from your driver disk or download updated drivers from the appropriate web site. The above usually works ok. Keep us posted.

I have a wierd (and diverse) taste in music.

I love techno (anyone will do really. Basshunter, Kate Ryan, Talla, etc)

Classic music is good too.

Celtic, Rock (most of the older 70s stuff hehe)

But I hate rap and dispise metal.

Sorry to be so tardy getting back to this. Well, part of that was because my PC was out of commission for over three weeks and the thing only just got back to operational status the other day. Also, I hurt my back a couple of weeks before December 25th and that required attention(and still does). Also, this is leaf collection season and that project still continues after eight rounds of collecting and disposing of the little devils.
Be all that as it may, the solution for my PC sound problems turned out to be a new monitor with separate speakers brought back from retirement(I also needed a new mouse since the previous one apparently was wearing out). Now the PC works again and I have my Internet access back(until my ISP contract expires this coming weekend)and the sound has also returned to normal after being absent all that time(more than ten months, all told, I believe). That is the state of things here for the moment.
