Couple of good games last night, first featuring Hoko, LBG, F5 and Mr Zee saw Wellington's Peninsula veterans give the Froggies a severe mauling. Even the Spanish were in the mood for it as they refused to run away from French columns!!
Next game was a 3 hander between LB ( The Rock )G and the infamous duo of Napman and F5. LBG Brit faced the Polish Corps of Napiontowski and the veterans of Count Effive. Have to say it was perhaps the best 2 v 1 I've personally played in. Nap's Vistula Lancers performed prodigies of valour and were just as stoutly opposed by the Highlander artillery guard. Thrust and parry was the order of the day until eventually the Lancers mobility allowed them to slip through the tartan wall. On the other flank the French veterans gritted their teeth and plodded into the British killing fields kindly provided by two battalions of Guards. Damned hard pounding but too much for the French who retired back up their own hill. The game was a veritable see saw of fortunes but LBG and his battered redcoats finally emerged triumphant. The game lasted 79 minutes and 6 seconds proving that smaller games can be just as much hard work as the bigger ones. Well done to LBG who enjoyed a rare win as the player outnumbered by two to one.
( Our day will come ya pinko................ )
