( fort kent high school, )
inside the walls of fort kent high school are some of the most brilliant, accomplished minds of the century, the future of this country. while some of them will end up as street bums, there are those that we have faith in, the ones that will end up as lawyers or celebrities. but while they're still in high school land, they're just normal people, like you and me.

( augusta community college, )
this community college in the center of maine pretty much flies under the radar. its much cheaper than private school, and probably easier to get into as well. it has mediocre facilities but a large campus and endowment. it seems that someone just hasn't bothered to use all that money for anything...

( rosewood university, )
rosewood university is renown all over the country for their amazing sports teams and facilities. players of all sports clamor to be accepted early decision here. not to mention the wonderful greek system and easy access to the city by car or train to the city. the academics pretty much fall by the wayside here once the football season begins, so don't worry to much about that.

lancaster tech is an exclusive private college, one of the top twenty liberal arts colleges in the country. its basically an unspoken ivy league (at least, that's what the students who go here like to think). lancaster tech is known for its academically rigorous curriculum and turn-out of famous lawyers and company executives.

( restaurants and cafes, )
there are many restaurants and cafes in fort kent, many of which are located along main street in town. stroll up and down and you'll find a pizzeria, a small bakery, a coffee shop, a seafood place, and an ice cream parlor. travel just a few miles and you'll find the fancy-shmancy places, where they charge two hundred dollars for a single meal.

( fort kent mini mall, )
just because fort kent is in the middle of no where, it doesn't mean that the people of the town don't like to shop. the mini mall only has about ten, locally owned stores, but they're still decent. but, should you be expecting something with expensive designer labels, you may want the bangor mall, which is an actual, real-sized mall.

( kerlink lake, )
about twenty minutes from the center of town, kerlink lake is the closest thing to a natural place to go swimming that you'll find within two hundred and fifty miles, at least. you obviously can't swim on the lake in the winter, but you can sure skate on it! mid-fall, the local police blocks off the lake, but once it's ready to skate on, the blockades are removed; so if you don't see any blockades, feel free to break out your ice skates!

( plunder cinemas, )
being the only movie theater in a twenty mile radius has it's perks. the cinema happens to get along fairly well for being located in such a small town. the theater was restored last year, so all of the furniture, as well as the floors, doors, windows, and etc., have been newly renovated to be up to date so that you'll almost feel like you've made it to the big time. it's not the chinese theater, but it's sure close.

( fredrickson park, )
fredrickson park is located just a mile out of the center of town. the park is named after the founding father of fort kent, jonathan fredrickson, and there is a relatively large memorial statue to him in the direct center of the park. the park is kept clean by the town public works workers, thanks to the town's mayor, who happens to be a total tree hugger.

( fort kent post office, )
sure, there isn't much that happens at the post office from the prospective of a customer or post box user, but from behind the scenes, the place is fairly active. there is always someone in the mailroom trying to sort mail, or get the some sort of issue fixed.

( fort kent medical facility, )
f.k.m.f. is the closest thing that fort kent has in relation to a hospital. the medical facility is open at all hours of the day, every day, although they can only handle the smallest of things. scrapes and stitches can be handled, but if you're in need of surgery, you're going to need to make your way to augusta, or somewhere else with a relatively decent hospital.

( big jean's bar, )
big jean's bar is probably one of the best known bars in the town. this is where most of the town drunkards hang out, as well as the teenagers who happen to have a decent fake id. big jean also has an open mic night on wednesdays, fridays, and saturdays, so should you have a band, or something relevant, feel free to sign up!

je suis chic is a club that's found in augusta. you have to actually leave fort kent if you're planning on going clubbing, unforunately, but should you have the time, you should definitely travel to augusta to attempt to get into je suis chic. je suis chic has been given high praises in numerous magazines, as well as by a few celebrities. are you ready to get your groove on, baby?

( the bangor mall, )
a few hours south of fort kent is the second largest mall in the state - the bangor mall. it's nothing spectacular, and it's definitely no mall of america. it's your average, ordinary mall, equipped with dozens of stores, including a few really decent name brand stores like coach and hollister.

( togus hospital, )
for those issues that need serious fixes or attention, this hospital is probably one of your best bets. located in augusta, togus is one of the best, if not the absolute best, in the state. you will be taken care of by some of the most well-trained staff you could be surrounded by. actually, this is the hospital where kyle smith was transfered to after the accident, and look how he came out of it!

being quite a drive from fort kent, funtown/splashtown is definitely worth the drive. while it's nearly six hours south of fort kent, funtown/splashtown is your best bet when looking for any sort of amusement park within the state of maine. the staff at funtown/splashtown aren't always the friendliest, but your venture within the park will definitely be worth it. they're always adding new rides and expanding the park beyond it's already gigantic walls, so you'll almost always find something new and exciting.

looking to go jam at a concert? then, this is probably your best bet. the augusta civic center usually doesn't get the best bands, so if you're in the mood for a good concert, the cumberland county civic center is your best bet. the cumberland county civic center has been visited by the jonas brothers, sir elton john, the taste of chaos tour, as well as many other headlining tours.

( cherry grove gated community, )
cherry grove is also known as the housing development where all of the pretty, little rich kids live. most of the houses have at least four bedrooms, two baths, as well as a pool in the backyard. some have more, but you won't find many that have less. this development is for the upper class, who have the money to spend nearly a million dollars for their beloved home.

( jameson suites, )
jameson suites is a development of three relatively large buildings that contain nearly five hundred suites and penthouses altogether. the suites usually have no more than four bedrooms, due to space constriction. each floor holds two suites, so you generally won't have many issues with your neighbors, considering you only have one neighbor. jameson suites is for the upper-middle class, or those who can truly afford the fifteen hundred dollar monthly rent.

greenlee condos are mainly affordable for anyone in the middle class, depending on how many bedrooms you need. starting at four hundred and fifty dollars for one bedroom, moving up one hundred dollars for each added bedroom. each of the condos are fairly relative to one another, with the exception of the wild colored walls that the residers can change on their own free will.

kindred apartments are probably the lowest of the low that you can get in fort kent. they're really inexpensive, but as the saying goes: you get what you pay for. the neighborhood is full of thugs and gangsters, so in all honesty, it's not a far cry from being called the bronx of fort kent.

this large hotel has a restaurant and breakfast bar located on its lower level, as well as a small gift shop. it has three stories of rooms, all of which are relatively nice. the sheets on the beds are red and gold, and each one has a desk, tv, closet and en-suite bathroom. this is a frequent residence of the out-of-towners who come to the ctiy to visit.
