Date: April 26th, 2008 Time: 4:00pm ISO: The Ghost of Christmas Past, but I'll settle for Phobe, I guess. Sigh.
Despite the fact that Jackson's plans for the day had been a bit derailed by his depressing encounter with Fionnghuala, he was still determined to do what he'd set out to. Originally, he'd planned on studying his ass off all day until around three, at which time he'd be getting ready for the prom he'd told Phoebe they weren't going to attend. He'd told her that he was just too far behind with his work, but swore that he'd make it up to her if she'd spend the night helping him for a bit and then have the rest of the night for quality time with him. It'd all been a lie, honestly. He'd always planned on taking her to the prom. He'd had her mother order her a dress and send it to the school to him, and he'd had his own mother buy him a tux to wear. He'd just figured that if he could make it a surprise, then he might as well.
As it was, things were all running a bit late. Jack was just finishing getting ready at quarter after four, fifteen minutes after he'd promised he'd go and meet Phoebe in her dorm. He knew she wouldn't exactly be anxiously awaiting him, as she was under the impression she was just going to be helping him study, but he wanted to make sure they were ready in time to actually get to the prom. As it was, they probably had about forty-five minutes to an hour to meet the carriages.
The dress that Jackson had helped Phoebe's mother pick out was pretty damn stunning. It was gold, which her mother had decided on, but the style had been a mutual decision. The gown was long and elegant, flowing as opposed to frilly. It was daringly low cut and had a cheeky little slit up the leg, but it was far from being too revealing or too slutty. All in all, it was pretty clear that picking the dress had been a joint effort - it was classy and sexy, and it was also clear who attributed which factor.
Dressed in a tuxedo, his hair somewhat styled, Jackson knocked on the door to Phoebe's room. It was an unnecessary formality, but if he was making the gesture, then he was all in. He had her dress carefully draped over his arm with a corsage sitting on top of it. His other arm was occupied holding a bouquet of roses upright – damn right, he went there. He smiled to himself as he waited for Phee to open the door.

Phoebe was a little bummed about missing prom. For as much as she loved video games and sports, she was a complete girly girl, and the idea of her prom had always being something out of a story book. Prince Charming would come whisk her away to this whimsical ball and everything would be absolutely perfect. It was cheesy, but that's what she'd always envisioned her prom being. Not that anyone would be surprised, especially since Phoebe's favorite Disney movie since she was two had been Cinderella. Sadly, she wasn't going tonight, and while she'd put up a happy face for Jackson, she couldn't help but feel cheated out of her fairytale. Well, at least she'd have Prince Charming...along with all of his homework and study material.
Still, Phoebe, the ever optimist, was glad that she would get to see Jackson. He'd been missing in action since the assembly, and despite getting out on the 20th, Phee respected his wishes and refrained from crashing into his dorm. She'd been happy about getting the note from him saying they were going to study together, but sad because it meant she wouldn't get to go to prom. Mreh, it wasn't like she'd gotten a dress anyway. Instead of a dress, she was wearing a pair of shorts and a shirt. Very un-princess like.
When she heard a knock at her door, Phoebe forced her thoughts away from the prom she wouldn't get to attend and stood up from her bed to greet Jackson. She figured it was him seeing as everyone else she knew was getting all dolled up for one of the best nights of their lives. A smile graced her face as she saw Jackson, and Phee hugged him.
"I missed you!" she said happily, hugging him and giving him a kiss on the cheek. Jackson was a lot more...lumpy than she remembered him being. What? Phee pulled back and finally noticed the crap load of stuff he was carrying, and her look changed from one of happiness to one of visible shock. Not only was he dressed to the nines in a tux, but he was brandishing a glittering gold dress, a corsage, and a bouquet of red roses. No books to be seen. The shock faded after a moment and Phoebe's face and a bright smile replaced it.
"Oh my god!" Phee said finally, taking the stuff from his arms and walking into her room. She gingerly placed the flowers and corsage on her bed before holding up the dress. It was absolutely stunning, yet completely her style. She put it down, but only to practically tackle Jackson with another hug. "I love it!" she said, sounding ecstatic. "This is the best study date ever," she said, pulling back a bit and laughing. Before she could say anything else, however, the two were interrupted by a few pecks at her bedroom window. Two owls, her parents owls, we're carrying a bag, which had obviously been enchanted for easier handling. Phee went to the window and grabbed the bag, leaving the owls to perch near her window, where she had food and water out.
Phee examined the bag, noticing a card sitting on top of the tissue paper. Inside was a note written in her fathers handwriting.
Jack and your mom forgot shoes, so I took the liberty of picking these out for you. I know Dad's aren't exactly the go-to guys on shoes (your mom helped me with the size), but I'm positive you'll love these. Have fun Princess.
Phee handed Jackson the note, freeing up her hands to pull out the shoes. The blonde gasped as she saw them, and gingerly pulled out something that absolutely completed her two year old dream, glass slippers. Yes, the shoes were made entirely out of glass, but the contribution of magic made it so they were virtually indestructible. The insides of the shoes were layered completely with a soft, completely clear gel, that actually made them comfortable without taking away from them at all. A hand went over Phoebe's mouth as she took in the shoe, then looked over at Jackson.
"I love my dad," she said happily before putting down the shoe to hug Jackson again. "Thank you," she said softly into his shoulder. "I'd tell you that you have no idea how much this means to me, but I know you do."

"I missed you!"
Jackson grinned brightly as Phoebe finally opened the door. She immediately enveloped him in a hug, and he returned the gesture as well as he could with his arms full – which wasn’t very well. All he really managed was to awkwardly lean forward a bit, performing some sort of armless hug… which got him thinking about what it would really be like to not have arms and want desperately to hug someone. His mind didn’t exactly run wild with the tangent, because he was busy realizing how much he’d missed Phoebe. (He’d save the armless hug deal to ponder about later.)
The fact that she was initially oblivious to the fact that he was dressed in a tux and had his arms full only made him chuckle as he performed the awkward armless hug when she threw her arms around him. He did manage to sneak in a quick kiss, giving her a peck on the cheek while they were hugging.
"Oh my god!"
As Phoebe took his armload of prom goodies, Jackson closed the door to her dorm, following her inside. He watched her admire the dress with a slightly proud look on his face – he done guuud. She tackled him in another hug and he wrapped his arms around her this time, squeezing her so tight that when she proclaimed her love for the dress, it came out a bit squeakier and breathier than it ought to. He eased up, giving her a little playful smirk.
“So, does this mean-“
He didn’t get to utter the obligatory ‘are you going to put out?’ joke because the two owls rapping at the window stole Phoebe’s attention and, admittedly, his as well. He eyed them curiously, recognizing them as belonging to her parents. He couldn’t figure what would be in the bag until Phee handed him her father’s note explaining it. He set the note aside in time to see her open the box.
Jack’s eyes went a little wide at the shoes. They were, plainly, the perfect gift for Phee and he was suddenly intensely jealous that he hadn’t thought of it first. He’d forgotten about shoes completely. He smiled, though, honestly just wanting this night to be perfect for Phoebe. (Well, AND he wanted to get laid, but why wouldn’t she do him on a perfect night? C’mon.)
"I love my dad.”"
Jackson nodded, putting an arm around Phee’s waist when she came back to hug him again. “Yeah, that was so smooth I’m pretty sure I have some inappropriate feelings for him right now.” He lifted an eyebrow at her after she thanked him. “So, if I bought you shoes, you’d love me, too, right?”

“Yeah, that was so smooth I’m pretty sure I have some inappropriate feelings for him right now.”
Phoebe laughed at that, then walked over and closed her door. She had to get changed, after all, and doing that with the door open might not be the best idea ever. Jackson raised an eyebrow at her and Phee mirrored his expression as he spoke up again.
“So, if I bought you shoes, you’d love me, too, right?”
"Nah," Phee said playfully, taking off her shirt and tossing it aside before she removed her shorts and leaving them pool around her feet. "You have to do a little more than buy me things to get me to love you." Phee ran around the room in her lime green bra and panty set, gathering up her dress and shoes, along with her wand and some undergarments to wear under the gown. It was form fitting dress that had spaghetti straps, so she opted for a nude colored strapless bra and flashed Jackson the matching colored g-string before scampering off into her bathroom and locking the door. Not that she was self-conscious about changing in front of Jackson, she just thought it would be nice for him to just see the finished product and not the work in progress. Plus, he'd get to take it off of her later, so really he wasn't missing out. She was just glad that she wouldn't take as long getting ready, seeing as she'd showered and the like before Jackson had even knocked on her door.
Once in the bathroom, Phee stripped out of her current bra and panty set, changing into the other set quickly enough. God it was skimpy looking, but at least she'd have no panty lines to speak of. She looked down at her belly button ring, which was a set of two dangling butterflies and decided she needed something a bit smaller so it wouldn't bunch up in the dress. After a minute of digging through her things, Phee produced a really simple but really expensive belly button ring that Jackson had actually bought her a long time ago. She'd worn it before, but he'd gotten it for her when she first got the piercing (since the one she had to wear while it healed was kinda boring looking). It was a simple gold stud with a swarovski crystal at the base of it, and since it didn't have anything dangling, it wouldn't show under her dress.
She replaced the belly button ring quickly enough, then slipped into the dress. Thankfully, it fit her form perfectly, and she looked DAMN good in it, if she did say so herself. It hugged in all the right places, and for once, Phoebe actually looked like a young woman instead of an adorable teenager. This wouldn't have been the dress she picked out for herself, but for once that seemed like a good thing. She slipped on the shoes next, marveling at how comfortable they felt. What was that term? Gellin? She was so gellin.
Next was the hair and make up, and despite how little Phee payed attention to both of those area's, she knew how to make herself look good (she just never bothered doing it ever). Less make up was more on her, so all she really did was use some touch up here and there on her face to even out her skin tone, then some mascara to make her eyelashes stand out a bit more. Phee finished off the natural look with some sheer lip gloss on her already colorful enough lips and nude colored eyeshadow with just a hint of gold shimmer that complemented her dress amazingly well.
Okay, hair. Thank god she was magical, else she would have burn marks on her neck and shoulders every time she attempted to style her hair. An up-do would have, honestly, been easier but she looked so much better with her hair down that she decided to do the extra few wand strokes to make that happen instead. Her hair waved a bit towards the top, so it framed her face just so, but as it got towards the tips, curled into loose ringlets that looked professionally done. "Yay magic," Phee said, admiring her hair and using another flick of her wand to make it so the hairstyle would stay in place but still move around like hair with no product in it. She hated how stiff hairspray made her hair feel, so yes, another plus to being magical and being REALLY good at transfiguration.
All in all, it took ten minutes, but once she was done, Phoebe Benson had successfully transformed herself from goofy girl she was known for being into a, well....a lady. No wonder her mother was always nagging her to doll herself up more; when she did she looked pretty nice. This was the first time she'd ever looked like this in her life, but after seeing what she actually looked like, she was seriously entertaining the idea of trying for this look more often. She'd dug out a pair of simple gold earrings with small diamonds danging off the ends to finish off the look, but deciding against a necklace. Having something hanging there on her neck would just take away from the overall look she was going for. Once she got the earrings in, Phee opened the bathroom door and raised her arms briefly.
"Tah-dah!" she said enthusiastically, giving Jackson an adorable smile, before glancing behind her. "Fair warning; I might rip the train of this dress before the night is over, cause I'll forget it's there and someone will trample on it while I'm moving away from them." She let silence fill the room for a moment before meeting his gaze again. "So, Jet, am I a passable prom date now?" She did a quick twirl to show him the back of the dress, waiting for his reaction (a bit anxiously at that).

Jack smirked as Phoebe laughed at his comment about her dad. “You laugh, but I’m serious. If he were single…” He trailed off meaningfully.
"You have to do a little more than buy me things to get me to love you."
He tilted his head curiously as Phoebe simultaneously stripped and answered his question. His witty retort was almost lost as he drank in the sight of her half-naked, wondering just how laid he’d get that night. “So the roses and the dress didn’t really score me any points? That’s rough.”
As Phee went off to change, Jackson lounged on her bed, lying back and absently staring down at his shoes. Despite the impeccable tux, he was wearing a pair of ratty old Chuck’s. They’d actually, funnily enough, been a gift from Phoebe’s father. He smirked at the realization, deciding he was glad he hadn’t worn the dress shoes his mom had sent with the suit.
He didn’t ponder the armless hug conundrum as he waited for his date, busy determinedly NOT thinking about the schoolwork he still had to do. He sighed, because deciding not to think about it just made him think about it. Honestly, he shouldn’t have been taking the night off, but he couldn’t bare the idea of making Phoebe miss prom – and he knew he’d regret it if he missed it, as well. He knew that once he was off to the event with her, he wouldn’t even give his homework a second thought, but sitting there and waiting, it was easy to agonize over.
That, and, well, he was tired and it was also easy to reflect as to why that was. He knew full well he was over-working himself and pushing his limits, but he figured things would settle down once he was back in classes – he hoped, anyway. It was all very important to him, getting in better shape and getting top marks – especially now that he had a clear ambition for the end of the year.
The bathroom door opened and Jack looked up to see Phee showing off her dress. All he could do for a moment was stare. In his opinion, she always looked beautiful, but he couldn’t recall an occasion where she’d looked so… elegant and adult. He got up off of the bed as she twirled for him, reaching out and taking her hand once she finished. Where he’d normally toss in a joke, he couldn’t think of one.
"So, Jet, am I a passable prom date now?"
In response, he wrapped his arms around Phoebe, leaning down to kiss her. It was meant to be a quick, tender gesture, but once he’d initiated it, it was harder to stop than he’d thought it would be. After a moment of considering blowing off the prom to get Phee out of that dress now, Jackson finally got a hold of his hormones and pulled back, smiling a bit sheepishly.
“You look… wow.” He stepped back from her, running his fingers through his hair. “I just… that dress is perfect, and you… wow.”

Phoebe was very pleased with the answer Jackson gave her. She returned the kiss, not minding at all that the gesture was prolonged. Hell, she hadn't seen him for what felt like years, and she'd be lying if she said her train of thought wasn't following closely behind his. Still, going to prom was a childhood dream of hers, and while seeing Jackson naked was one of her favorite things to do, she wanted to have both tonight. It just seemed more practical to go to prom first, THEN get him naked. He pulled back and Phee lips formed a perfect pout, which quickly faded as he spoke.
“You look… wow.
He stepped back from her and Phee smiled brightly.
“I just… that dress is perfect, and you… wow.”
"Man I'm jealous of you," the blonde retorted playfully. "You get to take this-" she used her hands and gestured down her form. "-to prom. I wish -I- was taking me to prom." An adorable laugh followed shortly afterwards. "I get it, I clean up nice. So do you; you look pretty studly." The blonde went over to the bed and picked up the corsage, putting the flower on her wrist and admiring it a bit. It was a made up of white calla lilies that matched the flowers on the boutonničre that was pinned to Jackson's tuxedo.
The blonde turned around and held up her wrist for Jackson to see. "See, now THIS is what makes a girl fall in love with you. Her favorite flowers stuck onto her wrist, and her SECOND favorite flowers-" she waved her hand back at the roses. "-In a bouquet." She placed her hands over her heart in a very theatrical fashion. "My heart's all a flutter!" Phoebe dramatically turned and half leaned with her back against Jackson's torso, careful not to crush the flower. She glanced up at him, the back of her left hand now resting on her forehead. "Oh Jackson Edward Turner, I'm completely yours! Take me!" She paused, breaking character quickly enough. "-to prom first, THEN you can bed me."
Phee turned around so her body was facing his completely and smiled brightly, planting another kiss on his lips. It didn't last as long as the first one, but it was just as tender and memorable. She adopted a serious expression. "Seriously though, I know how hard you're working to catch up in school, so I SWEAR on my ridiculously massive pokčmon card collection that once prom is over and I've had my way with you, I'll help you study. Yanno, the real studying, not the kind where we get out the books then use them to recreate the leaning tower of Pisa" She hugged him. "Thank you so much for doing this for me, I love you times infinity. PLUS one."

Jackson wet his lips, having a hard time not staring at Phoebe like she was a piece of meat. He was distracted, though, by the taste of his lips, which gave him a chance to fully reign in his hormones. He looked a little confused, then licked his lips again before raising his hand to his face and pressing his lips to the back of it. He had to laugh when he saw the sheer, shiny print he’d left on the back of his hand. It wasn’t that the lip gloss was cheap, but, well. He hadn’t exactly just given her a peck on the lips. Any lipstick that would have stood up to the sort of kiss he’d given Phee would have been incredibly hard to get off at all, he imagined. He grabbed a tissue from the box on her nightstand and wiped the rest of the gloss off his lips.
”I wish -I- was taking me to prom."
“Too bad,” Jack replied automatically, tossing away the tissue. “You’re spoken for.” He smirked. “Looks like you’re stuck with me.”
"I get it, I clean up nice. So do you; you look pretty studly."
Jackson feigned bashfulness, running a hand through his hair and effectively undoing any of the work he’d done to style it. (Not that it’d been incredibly noticeable in the first place.) “Aww, shucks,” he responded in a mock southern accent, kicking at the ground with his shoe. “You know just what to say to a girl.” It took him a moment, but while he was watching Phoebe put on her corsage it dawned on him. “Uh… a guy? I’m a guy.” It sounded a bit unsure and he scratched the back of his neck. “You look really fucking hot.”
At Phee’s dramatic little moment, Jack laughed, playing along a bit – well, more like, he didn’t step back and pretend to let her fall when she leaned back against him all damsel in distress, instead, he stood there smirking and let her flail around on him.
She promised to help him study and he stuck his tongue out at her. “I’d rather build a fort out of the books, at this point.” He gave an annoyed little wave of the hand, indicating they drop the subject for the night. He leaned down, though, and kissed her cheek, obviously grateful for the offer of help. Studying was just the last thing he wanted to talk about at the moment.
“Thank you so much for doing this for me, I love you times infinity. PLUS one."
Jackson beamed. “Awwwww.” He hugged Phee, squeezing her obnoxiously tight again. “I love you, too.”

“Awwwww. I love you, too.”
Phee smiled brightly, until Jackson tried to squeeze the life out of her. She made a gasping noise, trying to break out of the hold. "Jet. Need. Air. Have. None!" He let her go and Phee coughed gracelessly for a few seconds before hitting Jackson in the arm. "Don't kill your prom date!" she said with a laugh, then frowned at his hair.
"Aww man, you messed it ALL up," she said, sighing a bit before grabbing up her wand. Jacksons hair was on the wavy side, so it only took a few flicks of her wand to style it. She was very tempted to give him pigtails, but refrained and actually made it look nice. "There, I Jackson-running his hand through his hair a lot- proofed it," the blonde replied with a smile, then proceeded to shove her wand in Jackson's coat. "MAN PURSE!" she said happily. "The best accessory any girl can have." With that, she grabbed Jackson's hand and kissed his cheek.
"Let's get going. Your arm candy wants to dance," she said with a smirk, then lead them out of her dorm to meet the carriages.
