I feel like my art's gone nowhere, and that's not true-
it's gone places, just not where I want it to go. orz

I go and find prompt type things to work on. Like the 100 themes challenge.

Or go find some tutorials and try to follow along.

Or listen to awesome inspiring music/movies. That can help.

It's really not that optional for me to be in an art rut since my grade depends on the art I'm doing. So I tend to just keep working until I get something I like.

Well, what are you trying to do with your art? :D

If it's anatomy that's bothering you, look up some anatomy tutorials or trace some stock images (don't hurt me) to get a feel of how long/short/big/small things are supposed to be.

If it's coloring, look up some tutorials of that-- or even check out *purplekecleon and her crazy coloring. :O

ORRR... if it's just not the kind of style you like, try something new! (muffins know how often my style changes, bahaha)

I generally change subject matters for awhile. I'm not a serious artist, but when I feel like things aren't going well I deviate from what I normally draw to try and practice skills I Don't normally focus on. I have still life drawings of objects in my room to practice shading and texture, drawings of unusually shaped animals (sloths, ant eaters, bats) to work On anatOmy and believable adaptations. Realism is pretty important to practice, even though I typically only finish more cartoony images. Studies really help. This is probably why my style is so inconsistent.

Work is not going to kill me slowly... it has run me down with a truck and I'm pretty sure I can hear it getting the tire iron out to finish me off right now...[/align]
