Now let me just say: I totally understand when somebody gets a bunch of crappy apps, doesn't like any of them and decides to keep. And that it's their pet. That being said:

WHY say your pets are UFA if you're not going to /ACTUALLY/ put them UFA - and KEEP them UFA? What is the point of getting people SO excited and making/starting applications if you're just going to take them down or not adopt them out? Saturday night there were "PETS UFQA". The owner "just wanted them gone, deciding/sending tomorrow". I haven't heard from them since and all the pets are still on their accounts. WHY? Why even make the board and have people send in apps? Do they just like reading them or knowing their pets are wanted? WTF?? And other pets, highly highly wanted pets, where they get taken down UFA, again I ask WHY. One pet I was looking to apply for was taken down, for some "intellectual" reason and sorry but I call BS. If I don't get a pet, OK. I accept it, and I move on. But it's obnoxiously frustrating when people just take them down or give them to people with no reason other than some philosophical jargon (or because they're pissy). Especially with UC pets - it's not a matter of just saving up for the paintbrush with them.

I could go on, but I'm not going to, I'm not usually one to rant I just wanted to post somewhere and see if anyone had any input. I'm just sick of the whole situation and it's a huge turn off to applying for pets. I'm grateful to have the opportunity to apply for pets in the first place, but I'm sick of them of seeing people take them down. Don't get people excited in the first place! It's just cruel IMO. =/

Tl;dnr : Make sure you're actually going to go through with adopting your pets out and the process YOU set up if you're going to go advertising your pets UFA.

Some people just like the attention.

They should probably just go adopt a puppy.

what's the point of getting so upset over a pet that was never yours to begin with?

especially for pets that are just ufqa or only ufa for a short amount of time, it's not like you spent a lot of time on the pet.
some people like attn, some people find friends that want the pet, some people just realize there was more attached then they thought

I understand your point of view, and yes, it can be frustrating at times when pets are put up and taken down, but you have to think about the other person's point of view, as well.

Like Hearty Santa Claus said, some people put them up and then unexpected things happen that cause them to take the pet(s) down. At least most fosters are thoughtful enough to take them down shortly after putting them up - it's not like you had weeks, or even months, to work on that application just for the pet to be taken down after.

But honestly, there's no such thing as a wasted effort because you can always apply the character you made or the coding you wrote to another page if things don't work out. I know some people can't completely replace the first pet, but it doesn't mean you should abandon the idea. Maybe work it out from the beginning with a different pet...

Finally, on a more professional note, please watch your language on this forum. Vicats, our admin, doesn't set filters for most swear words because she thinks we're mature enough to handle the responsibilities, but at the same time, you have to remember that younger audiences do read these forums from time to time, and you don't want to appear too abrasive to them.

It is always disappointing when you don't get a pet that you want, regardless if it is because you weren't chosen or because they're taken down. However, that is the risk of applying for pets. (:

I wouldn't be too upset about pets being taken down after only a few days, because chances are it wasn't enough time for you to become really attached and develop a strong character.
