I highly doubt there's one person in this world who purely invented their art style and technique out of thin air. XD So this board is created because...Leslie is curious, desu. :B They can be other neopounders, neo players, deviantArtists, or anybody, really. |D
If possible, it would be great to have a link to their DA or art gallery, but not required. |D

Mine:
Miwa Shirow, manga-ka of DOGS
redjuice999, the artist who drew Re:Package Hatsune Miku art
Ryusuke Hamamoto
Uraya D{:>
To-fu
LAWNMOWERPANTS - basically the whole beginning of Ossenfelder AKA Bellyfish
Jinsei Kataoka, artist of Eureka SeveN and Deadman Wonderland
Katsura Hoshino, artist of D. Gray-Man
AKIRA AMANO, artist of Katekyo Hitman REBORN!
Kidchan, Toonikun, Kurot, and Dorset
Ageng
paper.fish
.......and a whole load. orz|||

LOOK AT THAT ARMY, AND THERE'S PROBABLY MORE I'VE FORGOTTEN.

A long time ago, my art used to be influenced by Bytail.

But apart from that, my current style has been developed by myself. D: And aside from a couple of tutorials I read for shading and lineart (many techniques which I later dumped), I just experimented. I experimented a lot until I got where I wanted to get.

I have friends with great art that I guess you could say I 'rivaled' with, but I took no techniques or styles from them.

Most of the people I watch on DA are the ones that inspired me, but for the most part, a lot of Aria's work has inspired me. n_n And Disney movies. I pretty much wanted to draw after watching so much of them during my childhood. xD

And then I kinda developed into my own style. 8D

I'd be surprised if I inspired anyone though. |D; *fail'd*

Dragon's blurry lines/some random gradient shading tutorial basically created the way I shade. As far as actual body shapes/influence for that... I have no idea. Everybody, and animals.

I think I used to look at photographs, since I began drawing earlier xP; So... dunno? I like attempting to steal the style of some neopounders as an experiment, but I never post those, and they've never really been... absorbed? Into my own style, soooooooo, no se, evidentamente?

Ohgosh... soooo many! But in roughly chronological order, I'll list some of the sources (artists or... artistic things) that most significantly influenced and inspired my art:

-Neopets. Seriously- the original Neopets on-site art.
-Various anime, but especially Yu-Gi-Oh... guess how Diane learned she could halfway draw human anatomy? |D

And as I became more interested in the Neo artist world...
-DragonFlares... I WORSHIPPED her on neo long ago, long before I was even old enough to communicate with people on Neo because I was under 13. She was a lot of what got me into actually /designing/ my characters.
-Artti- Once I was old enough and experienced enough to enter the BC, I discovered Artti and obsessed over her for a LONG time before I even got to know her and actually, y'know... /befriended/ her instead of just worshipping. XD (I'm pretty sure she's the reason I first became interested in drawing anthros.)

As time progressed, I began to actually directly involve myself in the artist world instead of just watching. At that point, I stopped really being able to pinpoint what I was influnced by, because EVERYONE I encountered influenced me in some way, because I spent so much time looking at art, talking about art, and exchanging critiques... So in a way, any art I've ever seen and any artist I've ever discussed art with has influenced my art. here are a few of the ones that really stuck out, though...
-Skatey has become pretty much a PART of my art, even though our styles are very different in a lot of ways. I talk to her SO much and we share tips and ideas and art with eachother so much that our styles, which are still SO different, have almost merged in a way that's kind of difficult to explain.
-Maria Tomasula is one of the first "fine" artists who REALLY influenced me. I didn't discover her until this year, when she came to do a lecture at my college and then I did a report and final project on her in my 2D Comp class (I got to pick an artist to study and do a picture in their style- I did this). She's... given me an interest in realistic art that I never thought I'd have. She does symbolic, surreal still life paintings. I cannot describe how much this lady has inspired me in the area of realistic "fine art" stuff. *o* And what more? I'm lucky enough to have one of her former students as my drawing/painting professor in my college! Ahfkjfhkjs. And he has a very similar technique and similar... philisophy on art (all with his own touch, of course). He's influenced me a LOT as well. But the darned bugger doesn't seem to have a collection of his own art posted anywhere on the internet. >.>

Golden wolfen for anatomy type stuff that is stretched from real life (like wolves with calves XD ). Henu for designing and some shading, though the stuff I do now is based on some stuff from the colorists that do Wonder Woman and that comic that some of you may know called Merridian.

To anyone who had my name on their list... stop looking at my art, and you'll improve ten fold e.e;;;

I have... no one. Honestly, there is no one artist I am influenced by. My style is just generic anime/manga. I ref stuff, but I ref from no one artist- I just yank out my manga, or google/DA search something to study for poses, and yeah...

As far as neopound goes, I do love...
-Uraya's & Leslie's pretty, skinny people style... you each have your own way of doing it, and I like both of them
-Icy's style, the way she does eyes/faces, and the cute clothes she does
-paper.fish's faces and hair
-Dragon's people, and how her "sketches" and crap art look like amazing stuff to me
-Yugi and how creative everything he does is
-Aya's over all style, and how he poses always look so natural
-Kalid's amazing ability to color, especially clothing folds
-Anyone who can do quad o3o

& as far as neopound goes, IDK... there are a lot of great neo artists, but the only ones that ever really stuck out for me is LilAngel, and Arttimo.
..woo, I'm boring (~o o)~

My influences are funny. They are rarely reflected in my art and don't have a similar style or point of similarity at ALL. And you would probably never realize what I've learned from them. But I love them, and I stalk them, and it's all good.

Yeah I know, I don't see what they have in common either. I mean Ted and Jamie yeah, but whatever.

Other than those three, there are about a bajillion other artists who influence me DAILY.

IDK, I've always admired a large amount of artist greatly and loved their works to death, but I don't know if my art style has really been impacted by them.

Basically if you look at a bunch of shoujo manga that I like and mix it with a bit of shounen manga and roll it in a ball and spew it out, that's how I draw... only I do it worse XD

As for artists that I love or helped me grow...

I would have to say a major one is Skye, -lulz she is so not active here- We've known eachother for around 5 years and she was like the first more seirious artist that had ever met in RL. She introduced me to the online world of art and got me onto things like oeakaki and digital art. Now she's a rival/friend in art, and we give eachother suggestions and stuff yeah.. I could probably write an essay on her but I shall refriain XDDD

Then it would be my first oekaki community, MHO: Mews Hangout Oekaki. It was my first online arty place, yeah. I was inspired by the many people there with their different styles and the way they went about things. Yeah, it was here that I learnt about.. shading.
Actually, come to think of it I really loved the people and community and art, and I could write another essay about this place but once more I shall refrain. Right, if anyone knows of arkouyo (sp?) I don't remember, she had this tutorial for soft shading and yeah I went by that for a while. I experimented there a lot.

Then there were all these artists on DA, I mean Leslie has already mentioned some... But umm, my first idols were like Lasaro, Renka, Jieyji and so on... -IDK I'm so dead on DA rite now, I can' be bothered linking to them but they were/are pretty popular so they're not too hard to find-
Mainly they encouraged me to draw guys, and have a less -animu sparkly- style. Yeah, I also have this alternate more realistic style that I don't use that often.

Yeah, there's still a bunch of artists that I haven't mentioned, but all in all, my style -whatever that is? I'm not even sure if I have a style persay- isn't really people influenced but rather, influenced by many styles and areas... yeah.

Edit:
ALSO LESLIE...
U LIEK DOGS? -swoons- I LIEK U MORE AND MORE EACH DAY

well of course YUGIOHFANART goes without saying. A lot of my weirder things look just like her stuff only minus all the awesome.

Also Sloth(and Joe and Raile and Ding.. I kind of lump them all together in my head) though that is more characters and species than actual art. xD

I do believe my style has come across purely by accident. I dont look at anyones style and think "Thats what i want to be like".

I mainly look at tutorials, and how everything turns out is the way i'll go with it (Presuming that i like it)

Ive been drawing for longer than i've known her, but a girl in my school (Hayley) probably made me who I was today.
Back when we used to be friends, she'd give me tips every now and then. Shes the one who made me get a DA.
She was the first person to actually befriend me too :x.
I've always wanted to be as good as her, buuuut i've always failed at doing so. I still do now. Her GCSE final piece is miles ahead of what I do now :x.
This is the only piece of digital artwork of hers that I can find. She quit DA and erased everything. Only a winning contest entry remains.

Edit- And actually looking at that picture... i can finally describe what I really want my colouring style to look like.

I go way back :3
Back in about... second/third grade? My Dad was dating (Kimberly), and she was awesome. She was the one who actually taught me to draw and helped me perfect some stuff.
I got into anime later, tried that stuff out. Then I started drawing chibis. I haven't stopped since 8D
But for current-days, a lot of stuff inspired me from DeviantArt. Mainly Holly, Nijuuni, and Katja 'cause I'm a Kingdom Hearts fiend :3
