People who make "seeking {insert unbelievably rare UC here} UFA!" boards.

Why? What do they hope to achieve by titling their board as such? Do they think that people roam the boards thinking "oh well I have this UC that I don't really want, if only I can find someone to take it away from me!"? And that such a UC would just magically appear in front of them?

What is the point? Why not work on an application (a prepared application is another discussion for another time), or go and do your homework? It's as if they think that the PC wouldn't know if a UC Royal or UC Plushie came UFA, and that by making a board like this, they'd persuade a user in putting their rare UC UFA.

I'm sorry, but I can't see any point to making these boards; they're just a waste of time, because all the OP ends up doing is single handed-ly bumping a board no one will post on, except BC spammers.

Also, I know people can do what they like with their time, but it's just- I genuinely can't see any logic behind this. In genuine and all honesty: what do they think their board will actually achieve?? T___T

NB: this is a discussion; I am not flaming these people for anything (well.. the boards they make could probably be classed as spam, really).

Last time I brought this up on the PC, people kept bashing me because it was "their choice to do what they want" and it shows "dedication for the pet they want," but I agree that it's a waste of time. To me, it just looks like the person is begging. :I In all honesty. No sarcasm. I wouldn't give my super rare pet to someone who doesn't spend their time more usefully.

I brought up how they could be working on their pets-- "They're already done."

I brought up how they could be saving to trade up for the pet-- "They play games/restock while bumping boards."

I told them I thought it was a waste of time-- "Nope because they're doing other things and bumping every once in a while."

I even said that these boards were spam had no point to them-- "It's in the PC board description to ask about pets UFA. It's not spam!!111!"

So... y'know. I thought I was the only one who thought that. P: But at least I know I'm not the only one. Can't get through to them, though, but I'm no debater. /can't think of good arguments on the spot

(That was just me going off, oops. I don't see the point in them either, but hey, it's their choice to waste their time. If I had a shiny pet I wanted to give away, I'd just put it UFA and let it be done. I wouldn't gift someone who doesn't have more to do than bump a pointless board.)

I also thought it was just me as well. o-o Nice not to be alone on this.

Did people really say it shows dedication? It doesn't show dedication, it just shows how much time you have and what a bad decision you made in wasting that time by doing something that has no constructive merit whatsoever. A foster doesn't want someone who bumps a board; anyone can do that.

And yea, I don't think they would listen even if you told them they were wasting their time; one OP was told so, and she said "well I'm just chatting to my friends" and "logic isn't for Neopians", or something ridiculous like that.

I get that it's their time to waste, but honestly, what they're doing is classed as spam.

I just genuinely don't understand what they think they'll achieve by bumping a board and looking for a pet that barely even exists. :/

I can see only one reason that this might be remotely useful:
You might miss one of those UFQA boards that are only there every few days, so there may be that pet UFA that isn't actually documented anywhere, particularly if they don't use the not listed board here. I mean, personally I would miss TONNES of these boards just because I'm in the UK.

It is pretty much a waste of time though
usually the people who remember forget the name, or they just dont remember at all OTL

not to mention, more often than not it's just veiled begging.

I guess it's jsut best not to feed the beggars? :D

I get really annoyed by these boards, they just seem like begging to me. They're just hoping that they will be one of those lucky people who just so happen to have pets handed to them by random people quitting and I guess I understand the mentality. But the odds of it happening are just so low that I can't justify all the spam.

So here's another vote for, gah, annoying.

Oh good it's more people as well; I always get flamed and/ or ignored if I ever say this to people who make these boards. o1o

Yes it's just begging, isn't it. And it seems that everyone who makes these boards are rather arrogant about themselves and their saint-like plight in finding a dumb pixel.

The only reason I actually tell people to stop wasting their time is because I see their board as spam. I don't want to see the PC clogged up with these boards. :/

I see it as begging. I have a couple of UC pets that are rotting. One I have plans for, but if I saw someone really wanted it I would give it to them. I wouldn't be looking to give away a pet on the PC. I would look to give it away on the BCC. I probably wouldn't even make a board for it. I check out all the contestants, their accounts, their pets. If they have a dream pet list, it is usually on their lookups. If there is something I can do to help a promising artist, I will do it.

Of course, not everyone is me. Even the worst beggars on the street still do it for a reason; they, on rare occasions, get a hand out.
