Mini-rants: What If I Did..., A place to think about autocorrect

Dorothy that happens to a lot of Chem majors that don't do well in Quant or P-Chem so don't feel bad! I will warn you though that organic chemistry and biochemistry are exceedingly difficult. I have almost no life to pull a B in ochem. Granted, my professor is very difficult so it may end up being different for you. Those classes are generally easier for pre-pharmacy and regular chem majors though dkjfhklsjd I want practical application, not just mechanisms, but that's not until next semester 8(

None of those biology classes are hard, although some people do have a hard time in genetics because of the different types (population genetics stinks. A lot of people hate Tetrad analysis too but I like that stuff. Molecular Genetics is easier because it is less broad.)

You're a freshman so you have plenty of time to switch! So don't worry. If you do need more help deciding on the Bio front, I can give you a bit more of a heads up on what to expect in genetics, I'm taking that right now fff.

I've heard horror stories of ochem, biochem, and p-chem. xD;

My biggest thing right now is that the classes I was going to take as electives are actually core for biochem, so I thought that it wouldn't really make a difference if I changed majors.

The only reason why I didn't major in biochem at first was because I thought I didn't have to take calculus 3 if I did... turns out, I still do, as a chem major. x_x;;

Bombed my last calc exam (last night), so... urg. :I I can only imagine what multivariable will be like.


Thank you for your offer though, Shanny! I'll definitely come to you for genetics help. :D I'll have to take it... sophomore year... I think. I need to check the prereqs. At UTD, we're required to take gen chem 1 and 2 before taking biology, so it might be a while, actually. :/
