Title: What Do You Do On Neo
Description: and how has it changed

Heartless - March 4, 2012 06:35 AM (GMT)
what do you spend your time on neo doing?
how has this changed over time?

i find that as people spend years on the site, their interests shift around. which makes sense, chances are that it's these changes that keep you on the site! if everything stayed the same forever you'd get bored and wander away

so yes
tell me about your neo journey
why you first joined, what your original interests were, how it has changed and what you spend most of your time on now

: )a

Guilds, guilds, guilds! Maybe not when I first joined -- I was 11 and thought the pets were great and my goal was to get rich, loooool -- but once I discovered guilds, that's where my focus has always been (and still is).

I also used to spend a lot of time on the boards back in the day (the FC, not the PC) because I really wanted to be one of the cool kids. Now that I've found my niche/some good friends, though, trying to introduce myself into the fold just seems like a bit more hassle than it's worth. C:

Creating petpages and all that sort of things. I always have done that but I work more actively on them now than in the past.

In the past... ffff. I cannot honestly remember. I used to play games much more and actually earn NP each day. Now I'm too lazy and just take my NPS from the odd art gallery entry.

The fundamental I've got from neopets is drawing my pets and it still is. x3

I've never been in a really active guild so I can't really say I've enjoyed being in one. I've applied to Revolution before but to little success. xD

Guild, trophies, pets, customising, and most importantly, characters.

I've given up on making nps, which was the only thing I did when I was younger. oDo

I think when everyone joins, they all want to be rich. Everyone was obsessed with restocking, though it was easier in the day since shops didn't restock at random. xP

Now... not so much. I make my nps through plots & special events, speaking of which, we need a full blown plot soon. ouo

When I first started, it was all avatars, avatar guilds, then guilds, then coding for guilds, then coding for applications while chatting in guilds, then coding for applications, then applications, then petpages, then more applications, then Neopound, then coding for applications and Neopound, then Neopound, and now I just kind of visit to do dailies and go on Neopound. :B

Prior to like '07 or something I was super into the guilds and the AC; I was a pretty avid avatar collector and just started getting into kads until I was frozen.

Then for the longest time I really got into digital art so I bought my tablet and went all out on doing petpages/pet lookups and applications + BCing.

That was one of the hugest phases until '10 ish when I got really discouraged by apps- occasionally did petpages and did one app per year.

Now I haven't applied or had much inspiration since Ceta~ kind of the lowest activity but that's been declining since the past two years or so.
Currently trying to trade for my last dreamie no matter how long I have to rot but I'm not very motivated to do that either. xD Occasionally drawing and responding to neomail/guild posts but really doing the bare minimum (like dailies).

petpages and beauty contest were my early neo life :3
and a little bit of avatars but mostly because I liked to play avi games on the AC xD
I was also one of those people trying to crack the chef bonju avi actually

then my guild happened, and apps.

Nowadays I'm really only on there for my guild, and for my petpages that I don't actually have the time ot make xD

I was nine when I started playing, and I really only joined because my big brother had... they were doing the create-a-pet contests and I voted for the Tigrin and the Shoyru, and had an account with two of each. I abandoned accounts pretty quickly, but finally settled when I got my purple shoyru and silver shoyru (which was my ULTIMATE DREAM PET, guys, no kidding!) I was a council member in a pretty popular guild called Giftfaeries' Wishlist, (Or was it WishFaeries' GiftList?) where members could ask for an item they wanted... the guild store was used to buy the wishes. I started roleplaying and following the BC around 2001 - I remember MewKiki and Violet_The_Shoyru were like... the most amazing things I had ever seen (Oh, 11 year old Vicats...) ... so I started aspiring to draw THAT WELL and started following petpages.
My old guild closed down, so I joined and became a member, (then a moderator and ultimately one of the council members) of ILTD, as well as being a fairly active foster with TNO. I found out about the Draik Clan, an exclusive roleplaying group, and started applying for Draiks to get in to those lauded halls... which brought me here...

These days, I run Habi (Locked out again, sigh.), tinker with petpages, make dozens of redundant adoptable sets, draw and BC my pets every once in awhile, and surf petpages mourning the days of dozens of amazing artists. (And then I look some of the old amazing artists up and realize that it's not that the petpages aren't as good, it's just that I'm not easily impressed any more.) I've been working on bringing more of my pets up to the quality I want them to. And of course I muddle around here.

Also I was in Revo but was kicked for inactivity because I barely touched Neo in November/December, and I'm kind of embarrassed about it. :c I really struggle with giving up my creative control of my characters, even when the only control I use is environment/culture, so the guild plot was really hard for me to get into, too.
