865AD || Rigantona of Seisyllwg, twin of Myrddin of Seisyllwg, is born.
887AD || She falls sick and “dies”, only to come back and kill her entire family – her niece, Gratia, is the first to die.

923AD || Gwawl begins essentially stalking Rigantona, who is later tricked into turning him - he bites her and she retaliates particularly badly, not having realised beforehand that he'd managed to draw blood.
950AD || She meets Pwyll and finds herself quickly drawn to him. Gwawl kills Pwyll and nearly kills Pryderi. Rigantona puts Pryderi out of his misery in order to save him the agony of a slow death. Once Pryderi is dealt with, she turns on Gwawl, violently killing him, impressing the Old Ones, Mr. Snow in particular, officially recruiting her as an Old One.

1396 || Rigantona befriends and turns Mórrígan Masen in order to save her life, who convinces her to adjust her name in relation to the times – she becomes Rhiannon Castleton.

1465 || Rhiannon and Mórrígan are drawn into staying at the estate of Grayson Devereux, whom Rhiannon turns in order to save his life. This act of kindness is repaid by Grayson and Mórrígan walking out on her.

1514 || Rhiannon meets Henry Yorke, after being ordered to follow him by Mr. Snow, and helps him through the early, tentative months of being a vampire.
1582 || She meets Killian Brandt and spends several months tearing a path across Europe with him and Henry.

1607 || She parts ways with Killian, but remains in contact with him as much as she possibly can.
1665 || She loses track of Henry for a while during the chaos in Bristol and cuts many of her ties with the Old Ones.

1788 || She meets Eric Northman and joins him and Godric in their travels in Europe for a while.

It is actually pretty disgusting – the relationships that vampires have with humans nowadays – it is such a dangerously fine line between them being the cattle we lead to the slaughter and the next generation we create in order to continue to thrive. There should never be a cross over between food and sex, not in that way, at least. I do not know the idea just makes me cringe somewhat. Sure, food and sex is good for vampires all over the world, but seriously?

I mean I realise I have been guilty of manipulating that combination in the past, but I have matured a great deal since then. It is revolting to think of how we are shadows of the creatures we once were, representations of only a fraction of our true potential, lowering ourselves to cross breed with cattle in order to survive. Lowered to mere myths and legends to try and satisfy their futile little minds, we were forced to hide – the perfect escape – but now look at us!

We are running around like children, waving our hands in the air and screaming for attention, any attention – as long as it is focused on us, we do not seem to care. Sure, it was only a matter of time before any of the covers the humans created for us were blown, but for us to come out in the manner that we did? We blow all of those myths and legends out of the water in one catastrophic swoop – we are not exactly the fantastical creatures they, for the longest time, made us out to be, not any more, at least.

We can bide our time, sure – we have got a lot of practice at that now – but apparently we have forgotten how to make a proper entrance. All that time hiding and the best we can come up with is a mainstream television outing? That is absolutely ridiculous, a bloody joke. Now, we just seem like a bunch of sell outs - we have single handedly reduced ourselves to their level, even after they were the ones that built us up so high. The humans may have feared us, but they highly romanticised us and then this happens?

You would think it would be a great deal more anticlimactic for them, a lot more disappointing considering the ideals the humans placed on vampire kind, but a lot of them seem to be lapping it up. Of course, there are also those that are against the idea altogether, however, I think that's a whole different rant for a whole different day. There's so much to be said about those who are enjoying this, but there is a great deal more to be said about those who aren't.

I am honestly starting to believe that no one will ever love me. The only people that ever truly did are dead because of me. No one will ever love me – they just get used to me and that is fine. I do not love me, so why should anyone else? I have created nine progenies in total and not even one had I gotten right. Sure, I did not turn all of them to have someone in my life, but you would think at least one of them would still be around, but, no, even precious Grayson has disappeared.

I cannot even begin to imagine where I went wrong. I tried to be a good maker, but it would seem that was not good enough. I do not want some forced loyalty because they think they owe me, but it would appear that none of them do – if they did, I would expect at least one of them to still be around. That being said, I am so proud of my heart: it has been played, stabbed, cheated, burnt and broken, yet, somehow, it still works. Although, I think that could largely be down to the fact I have yet to be staked properly.

Being alone like this gives me far too much time to think – regardless of how people may believe I am not alone, but I am hardly surrounded by true allies. The last thing I need after being in this world for so long is to be left alone with my thoughts. I already have a thousands years of thoughts floating around this little head of mine. They may be easier to manage if they weren't mixed in with all the emotions and doubt. It is funny - everyone thinks they are each alone in this world. That is not exactly true.

Everyone is connected, more or less. One simple act can one day affect all. Considering how many non-simple acts I have been responsible for over the years, I cannot begin to imagine how that will shape my future...if I even make it that far. Most would probably comment on how if I have already made it as far as I have, what is there to stop me living a thousand more years? Well, here is my response to that previously unspoken question – what is there to keep me living a thousand more years?

It is my birthday today. I feel like I should be happier about it, but I am one thousand and fifty today and I do not exactly have anything to focus on. No one should ever live this long – that is what vampire hunters are supposed to be for, but when we live in hiding, I do not suppose it is so easy for them. It is just a slightly irritating chance that my survival instincts seem to strengthen around them too. However, the day comes when you have had enough, when your mind is spent even if your body is not.

As a vampire, your body is never fully spent, but the thing is we want to die, we need to die, even if we do not always admit it to ourselves. For a few to be immortal, many must die, many have died because of me – I can barely think of the numbers of innocent people who have lost their lives to immortals such as I. I am over a thousand years old – how many times do people honestly think I have thought about suicide? Hell, how many times do people honestly think I have actually tried?

I did not want this, I did not want to be a monster! I was dying, pretty quickly and horribly, but it was only recently that I worked out what I had had – stomach cancer and a pretty advanced strain at that. I mean the early stages are generally missed, even nowadays after so many advancements in medical practices, so they could hardly tell in the ninth century. At least, there was no telling that was anything actually wrong with me until I started to get really sick.

It was my father's idea. He had heard of the vampires, but did not know their label as such, he just knew that they could help his sick little girl and that is all he really cared about. Even then, I simply wanted to die – the pain was excruciating, I could not function and all of that blood...I suppose that is the irony of it really. I was dying in blood, I was reborn in blood and I will continue to live in blood. I spent days in the arms of death and I was the only one that came out of the other side. How is that right? How is that fair?
