Meet Dakota - your local not so friendly witch. Once a musical prodigy, and in her adolescence a composer and classical pianist with a world circuit of concerts and performances, she fell off the radar at sixteen when her parents were killed in a car accident. She disappeared from the stage, committed suicide a few months later, but was revived at the hospital. She was institutionalized for several months before being released into her aunt's custody in New York. In the next year she fell into the Goth and new-age dark magic routine before being found by someone who recognized her true potential in magic and coached her down the path.

She has an addictive personality, having lived on uppers and downers, pain killers and mood managers off and on for years now, and is always searching for the next distraction, the next high, the next party, the next danger seeking moment and thrill... She believes she is damned for her sin of suicide, and intends on enjoying every moment that she can. On the off side, she has moments of total low, where she suffers musical frustration, guilt, and massive depression where she is sullen and reclusive, or aggressive and intentionally picking arguments and fights with others.

Powers; While Dakota is a powerful witch in her own right, she also has a couple of natural abilities that might come in handy for plot purposes ---

In most things wicca, Dakota would be classified as a level 3; in the healing and ‘purer’ aspects of magic she is not as learned. Innate Ability: Power absorption/ amplification; Dakota has the ability to absorb energy that then begins to increase – slowly at first, but exponentially faster the greater the input / longer the duration the external energy remains in her psyche – this can be channeled through telekinetic attacks, or channeled through spells, be it her own or someone else’s, or can be siphoned away to feed creatures that require psychic or magical essence to subsist. She can draw in energy freely given by a living / spiritual essence with no effort; for a non living power source she must perform a ritual that allows her to connect to the source – to draw essence from a living source that is not given freely is a contest of wills and power, and leaves her vulnerable to other forms of attack as such an exertion would require her entire focus.

She also has a particular knack for glamours, such as changing her appearance, or creating the temporary illusion that her apartment is wall-less, or creating moving images in the air or against the wall like a flat screen television projection. Things like making a piece of paper appear like a hundred dollar bill, and other generally non-invasive and not-combat oriented glamours are those she is most skilled at as she enjoys creating light shows and imagery to accompany her music when she plays.

• Fangtasia, Ragnorok, bars, nightclubs of any kind, particularly supernaturally inclined.
• Her high rise apartment in upper New York.
• WRH where she works on a case by case basis as advisor / battery.
• Zahir’s fight club, the Demon’s Run.
• Magic stores, supply shops, etc.
• Anywhere else – rules don’t apply to her (so she believes most times) so really, she could feel justified in being anywhere if it suits her mood / temperament.

Ways you might meet her:

• Magic – she is known as a buyer and seller of random / rare / black market magic items, and does spells for cash, for v, or as favors, she also casts glamours for personal use / decorative purposes (want your club to look good no matter how many times it gets smashed up? Etc) and is a walking talking power generator to those that are in the know and would need such a thing.
• V – She’s a dealer and a user, and is happy to make it a party, and tends to sleep with vampires (of either gender) more than humans for that sole purpose and her own fascination with them.
• Clubs/parties – She doesn’t use just V for recreational highs, and drinks and does ecstasy, etc. on a regular basis and is often out on the town.
• WRH – Not a frequent thing, but she occasionally works at WRH or helps out with a spell, etc.

People you might know her through / know about her from:

• Crowley – lover, business partner, she comes and goes from his place with random frequency.
• Zahir – a ‘mentor’ of sorts for her, she loiters at his fight club and has been by his house, etc.
• Eric – Dakota has a private VIP room at Fangtasia and secretly deals V for him, so it’s not a public relationship but there is still a tie –in here. .
• Cain – she works as an ‘advisor’ / case by case witch for WRH so it’s possible he could ‘name drop’ her or vice versa.
• Rhiannon – Rhi is a regular customer in the realm of Dakota’s magic business and may speak word of mouth to those she trusts of her secret.
  
• Iofiel – their relationship is volatile at best, so it’s unlikely that anything good would be said here.
• Luke Clayton – Another mentor and repeat lover, despite the fact that he killed her boyfriend during the Eve frenzy, there is an undercurrent of attachment between the two that has been used against her once already.
• Damon Salvatore – Despite his bad streak with witches, and her being irked at him for helping Alaric make her undergo some degree of rehab, there is a semi working relationship here.
• Bonnie Bennett – fellow witches, Bonnie is mostly unaware of Dakota’s nocturnal persuasions or what type of magic she delves into behind closed doors.

Things that have happened since she’s come onto the board:

• Encounters Luke Clayton, a ‘born again’ vampire that opens her eyes to a few key points she’d been missing over the last few years.
• Crafts a ring with a combination of glamour and blood magic that allows Rhiannon Castleton to appear in reflections and on camera.
• Meets her guardian angel, Iofiel, who she learns rescued her from hell and brought her back to life.
• Meets Crowley, learned who he was and of his menagerie, became sporadically involved with him.
• Meets Dean Winchester, whom she would learn was working for Crowley and whom she would remember, later, had tortured her during their mutual time in hell.
• Meets Eric Northman, struck a deal of business and pleasure to deal V for him for profit and ‘perks’.
• Was confronted by the demon Samael, possessing Alaric Saltzman, and forced to reveal her ties to Crowley and to recharge the ring that had been weakening.
• During her recovery, conspires with Crowley to coerce the angel Iofiel into giving her the runes to hide her from angelic / demonic forces and to keep her from being possessed.
• An encounter with Zahir provides further opportunities for learning.
• High on Rhiannon’s blood, Dakota enchants a bar and its occupants which ends up with her encountering Cain, and taking on a position loosely affiliated with WRH.
• The onset of the Eve epidemic leaves her giddy and on a blood and lust rampage, sleeping with Klaus, Luke Clayton, Sam Winchester and Damon Salvatore (amongst others), and incites Luke to kill her long time boyfriend, and sends her on a bad V-trip that makes her recall in perfect clarity her time spent in hell.
• Summons Lucifer, to regain her sanity and beg for release from her damnation, unaware that she is technically no longer damned; strikes a bargain and is forced to tell Lucifer what it is that Crowley is up to and where Iofiel can be found.
• Post-Eve blues leave her desperate for a high and end up with her seriously hurt, rescued by Alaric and kept in check by him and Damon until she can recover, forcing her to dry out somewhat.
• Meets Drusilla, and a mutual relationship of fascination is formed.
• Is found at her apartment by Bonnie Bennett, a local Wicca seeking others in the area that are practitioners of magic and a tentative alliance is struck.
• With use of Crowley’s hellhound, seeks out Iofiel to complete her vengeance, only to find that the angel has departed the building, and leaves a gruesome message for the angel when she should return.
  
• Agreeing to help Zahir with the rescue of his sister, she is forced to deal with Dean on a personal basis for the first time since her recollections, while making contact with an eclectic mix of personages also aiding Zahir.
• Is tricked by Samael in a new body to come to him, and is forced to find a way to emulate a certain magic in exchange for Luke’s life.
