WHAT? : Advertising editor with a hot shot magazine in Manhattan.

PICTURE PERFECT : Lexi prides herself on keeping fit and is always on the go. As someone always in the public eye, she dresses for success and can always be found wearing elegant, top line business wear while at work. Her long tawny locks are often worn in chic up dos and her piercing blue grey eyes seem to see right through you. Shes very no nonsense in that area and prides herself looking the part of a successful editor.
When at home though, another side of Lex emerges. In her personal life, she loves being able to wear worn jeans and t shirts and goes barefoot a lot. Her hair is often worn up in messy ponytails and running shoes replace her tall FM heels so that she can romp with her men or play a game of catch.

MY SKILLS: Lex is a charismatic person who excels in mingling and interacting in high stress areas. She thrives on challenges and is always looking for that next big high, so to speak. She is also very driven, goal focused and will do about anything to get her way so people tend to fall into following her as a natural leader. Everyone but her husband, that is.
WEAKNESSES: Deep down inside, there is still a part of that poor, scared girl whos afraid that if she lets go, everything will crumble around her. So she pretends that everything is peachy in her world even though its far from it. Her passionate nature has been gradually locked away since the day her husband returned to her because things had just.. changed. Jason had changed and Lex felt herself off balance and unable to put her finger on just what was wrong. For her son though, she put aside her misgivings and accepted him as he was because he was her soul mate, right? The only one who'd ever been able to touch her heart or understand her drive and passion. If he was a bit different, well, what could one expect after his experiences?
LIKES: Sports, chocolate, shopping, spending time with her son, social functions, Chinese food, traveling, museums DISLIKES :Spiders (really! who does like them right?), greek food, rain, spineless people, horror movies. GOALS : Really, Lex has achieved most of her goals that she always wanted. She worked her way up the ladder to advertising editor in chief at her magazine, put together an amazing portfolio of stocks and bonds, has a wonderful son and a handsome husband and seems to have it all. Looks can be deceiving though.
Her main goal right now is to make sure her son never has to worry about anything and to somehow span the distance she feels between her and her husband. In many ways, while she has grown to love this new, romantic side of Jason, she sometimes finds herself longing for the old Jason and the extreme passion they shared in their youth.
SO, WHAT ARE YOU LIKE? : Lexi is a complicated creature. She has a side that she shows the world in a public persona and a side she only shows at home where she feels completely comfortable. Or at least, she did before her husband changed ten years ago. Now days, the two seem to go pretty much hand in hand even as a part of her has been buried.
As one of the premier advertising editors in the country, Lex is a charming, vivacious woman who is driven by her desire for success. Coolly professional and always in control, very seldom to people see the truly passionate woman underneath the calm exterior. A consummate diplomat, shes focused all her energy on maintaining her social standing and becoming a force to be reckoned with. Her no nonsense air allows her a quick edge in business meetings but her charismatic nature draws people to her like flies.
On the flipside, at home, shes struggled to find a balance since her husband was returned to her. Changed in ways that she'd never imagined, her passionate, somewhat sadistic nature has been repressed into a mild, almost hesitantly gentle lady like quality. Something about this new side of her husband has made her quail her baser temperament and she tries very hard to be the mild mannered wife she thinks he wants. Whiles its not perfect, she has found herself strangely torn between loving this new side of his and wanting to be the woman he deserves and mourning the relationship they had before.

WHAT'S HAPPENED TO YOU SO FAR?: You know that girl who everyone picks on cause shes wearing hand me down clothes and braces on her teeth? Well, so does Lex. She used to be that girl.
Born the illegitimate daughter of Annabelle DeVoux, Lexi grew up making due on very little and hiding from the bullies who never ceased to torment her for her outdated clothing and tattered tennis shoes. Being unwed and considered "white trash", her mother had to work odd end jobs just to keep food on the table for both her daughter and herself so there was very precious little left over for frills. Annabelle did what she could but as a teenage mother who never had the chance to finish school? There just wasn't much chance for promotion, no matter how hard she worked.
It was an unfortunately consequence that this carried over into Lexi's early life and scarred her in ways that her mother could never dream.
Some of the young girls earliest memories where having her braids pulled by older boys and hearing the snide laughter of the upper class snots. She vowed right then and there she would make them eat all their unkind words someday and she never forgot that vow even when she started to bloom and catch attention in totally new ways.
As she grew older and her form started to change and her beauty became evident, Lexi had more than her fair share of interest but none of them matter to her. Driven by the need to leave that ratty old town, her school work enveloped her and her attention never wavered from the desire to obtain a decent scholarship. It was her ride outta that place and her last chance to have a life different than her tired, worn mothers. No boy was worth the risk of giving that up.
At least, not until the day she noticed Jason Tanner leaning over an old car of his. Tall, lean and entirely too good looking for her peace of mind, she couldn't help but notice how he seemed so different from the other boys. While the others seemed to run around flexing their muscles and acting like idiots, he worked as hard as she did and seemed to be a kindred spirit. Lured in by a forbidden interest, Lexi soon found herself falling head over heels for him when he told her of his own desires to kick the dust off his shoes of that little town. Together, they could take on the world it seemed and she was more than happy to follow where he lead.
From there, the pair landed themselves in college and shared a strange, if passionate, relationship. There was never anyone else in Lexi's eyes and even when she was threatening to show him the business side of her cast iron skillet, part of her was secretly excited by this male who dared to stand up to her hellion ways. It seemed to almost become a ritual thing between them just so they could have steamy make up sex. Never once did it occur to her that the relationship might be seen as unhealthy because it just worked for them.
Eventually, they were married, divorced, married, divorced and married again. Along that time, they conceived and had their precious baby boy who they both adored. In that tiny bundle of joy, Lexi found her purpose in life and someone to put before herself. From the day of his birth, she decided to become the mother he deserved and her work in advertising became a driving force as he grew.
Then, out of the blue, her life was rocked to the core. The husband who'd always been larger than life in her eyes was gone. Suddenly, she didn't know how to cope, function or even what to feel as she tried to understand what had happened. It was even worse when he was suddenly returned to her but strangely different. No longer did she know what to expect from this stranger who her husband had become and it took awhile to find a footpath that she could tread. Even when she did, their relationship was so changed that it felt almost as if she were having to get to know him all over again. But thats what you did when you loved someone right? Lexi never once considered leaving him because she couldn't contemplate life without him. Sure, they'd had their moments but on some level, they'd always known that it was only something to keep the magic alive.
Besides which, after the hell he'd been through with those supernaturals, Lexi couldn't dream of hurting him any worse. She couldn't begin to imagine what he'd suffered so she gradually came to the conclusion that all of that had changed her temperamental mate to the core and it was just something to be accepted. No matter how much she might long for the old Jason even as she fell in love with the romantic side of this new husband.
As time passed, Lexi eased into existing with Jason and it helped that they both had their own professional lives. Gradually, a new, different feeling began to emerge in her heart for Jason and things settled into a comfortable pace that seemed to suit his nature. Unwilling to push him to a relapse or cause him stress, the blond never let him see her temperamental nature even as she implemented a new control over her emotions.
These days, she believes she has it completely under control and has no idea how badly her life is about to explode as the past meets the present.

Another day at the office. Just what she needed.
Stalking through the front doors of Le'Clare magazine, Lexi Tanner was in a snit. A snit that had started when she'd found her husband engrossed in yet another of his books and totally oblivious to the world around him. So oblivious that he'd forgotten about the fact that they'd had an engagement to attend and had left her to fiend off the masses by herself even as his cell had gone dead in the pocket of his forgotten jacket.
It had taken all of Lexi's patience not to yank the damned laptop out from under his typing fingers and beam him with it. Ten years ago, she would have done that very thing. Oh how she longed for the freedom of the old days.
Since spousal abuse was frowned upon these days, she'd settled for putting salt in his coffee and "forgetting" to give him the urgent message from his editor about his deadline. He'd still been hovering over his work this morning when she'd showered and left for work so she'd felt the need to strike out a bit. Ok, so maybe it was childish but the bitch in Lexi inwardly cackled in glee. Ignore her in favor of a manuscript would he? She so didn't think so. At least, not and get away with it scott free. A girl just had to have SOME standards, right? RIGHT!
With that thought bringing a rueful smile to her lips, she took the elevator to her penthouse office and paused briefly to pick up her messages. Waving good morning to those who called out greetings, she flipped through the written notes before finding one that held only five words. "I'm sorry. I love you." And just like that.. Her anger was diffused and she instantly felt bad for her temper tantrums.
The jerk.
