PICTURE PERFECT :
Sookie is the type of girl who likes to be looked at as a lady. She likes to dress up for the occasion. Going to church? She will have a nice dress on. Going to the mall? A nice sun dress will do the work. Going out? Probably a dress again. This tiny blonde woman likes her dresses. But there is the odd day where you will find her in jeans. When she is not working she will let her hair flow down on her shoulders in their natural waves. But when she is at work, she will wear them in a high pony tail so they don’t get in the way.
She is not the type of girl who likes to bring too much attention to herself. Back in Bon Temps too many people knew who she was and it was not something positive. She would much rather just be another face in the crowd. And while she always does her best to keep her head high, but she also would rather do her thing and not draw attention to herself.

MY SKILLS: Sookie is the type of person who is quick to think of her feet when she is in trouble and needs to find a way out. She also has a way with words. She has a sharp tongue and is not afraid to say what is on her mind or talk back to someone. Lastly Sookie has a strong backbone. When she has something in her mind or wants something she won’t give up. Same thing for the things she believes in, she will not back down from her beliefs no matter how much people might try and get her to do so,
WEAKNESSES: Unfortunately for her Sookie tends to think too much with her heart and not enough with her mind. She cares deeply for people and has a tendency to get into trouble for them. When she loves someone she doesn’t really see anything else including the bad in them. And while one of her strong points is the fact that she has no trouble speaking her mind, it can also be part of her down fall. She will often not think before she speaks. Which can get her into trouble. She does not care who the person she is talking to is or how powerful they can be. Bill and Eric. Even though she told both of them she wanted nothing to do with them anymore, she still caries a torch of both vampires. Part of her hates both of them but she knows that if either were to be into trouble, she would run to them no questions asked.
LIKES: sunbathing, coffee, breakfast, dancing, long walked, late night chats, her brother, fairyland. DISLIKES : raining days, her gift, people who judge, feeling like a freak, spiders GOALS : short term would be to get her life back on track. Sookie feels like she had lost a lot of herself these past years. So much as happened to her that she kind of lost a sense of who she is. She wants to regain this.
She wants to find herself a real career. She does like her job, but she wants something more out of life. Right now she is even considering going back to school part time. Long term; she would like to be able to find someone to share her life with. Perhaps even start a family. But children are a long way from being a reality for Sookie.
SO, WHAT ARE YOU LIKE? : Most of the time she is the type of person who tries her best to see the positive in every situation. She the “when life gives you lemon make lemonade” type of girl. She is a bubbly person but when she is having a bad day it is better to say away from her. Because when she gets mad, there is not much stopping her. Sookie is really head strong and has strong beliefs. she think everyone should be treated equally whether they are vampires or humans. She has always felt different than the rest of the people and the main reason is because she can hear people’s thought. And while no one ever brings that up. They think she is a freak and some are afraid of her for it. It does makes her feel lonely which is why she mostly keep to herself unless she is around people she feels like she can trust.
When it goes to her friends and family, Sookie won’t stop at nothing to make them happy. When she cares about someone, she will go at the end of the world for them. No matter how many mistakes they may make, she will be there no matter what. There are not a lot of people that Sookie trusts and ever since all the events with Bill and Eric, she trusts people even less. She is afraid to let anyone she doesn’t know yet in. Right now she feels like the only person she can talk to is her brother. She feels like he is the only one who has been there through and through for her.
And even though she has been hurt by Bill, she still believes in love, she knows there is someone out there who is the right one for her. She just has to find him.

ANY FAMILY? : Both her parents are dead. They were called Michelle and Corbett Stackhouse. Her grand mother was Adele Stackhouse but she also passed away. The only living family she has is her brother Jason and her cousin Hadley but she has not seen her in so long. No one actually has seen her/ WHAT'S HAPPENED TO YOU SO FAR?: Sookie was born on on May 24 1982. At age 4 Sookie realised that she could hear people’s thoughts. She told her parents about it who were afraid. Her mother made her see different shrinks to try and solve the problem. Of course no one could find the cause of the trouble. When she was 7 years old her parents died in a flashflood. Sookie and Jason were sent to their Grand parents Adele and Earl.
Her uncle Bartlett started to abuse of her which lasted until Sookie told her grand mother who banned the man from their lives. In school. Sookie mostly had only one friend which was Tara. The girl became like a sister to her.
After high school, Sookie didn’t go to college instead she started to work at Merlottes. She had been there for a few years when she meet Bill, whom she felt in love for. Through him she also meet Eric.
Sookie dated Bill for a while but things didn’t go as smoothly as she wished. Recently she found out that the night where she was almost killed was because of him and the orders of the queen.
In the same year she meet Bill, Sookie also lost her grand mother. Rene was going around the town of Bon Temps to kill girls who fooled around with vampires. He had come to the house where Sookie lived with her Grand mother to attack Sookie, only to find the older woman there. A fight lead to the death of Gran
Sookie felt like it was her fault and she still does. Had she not gotten close to Bill none of this would have happened.
One night Bill finally told Sookie he knew what she was. A fairy which did not please Sookie. It was an answer to everything she could do, but she simply wanted to be normal.
She became able to visit the fairyland but was unaware of the time she would spend there. Whenever she would travel there she would feel better. She’d think she would have been gone only for a few minutes but in real time she had been gone for weeks.
She tried to get her grand father to come back with her from the land of faeries but only to watch him die. Sookie promised herself she would never go back there again as it was too dangerous.
After finding out about the lies, Sookie decided to cut both vampires out of her mind. She now lives in a small house by herself and works as a waitress yet again.

Just another day at work, Sookie thought as she picked up the lousy time she had been left. In what universe did people leave in that mad them believe that she could easily live on that. It was in those moments that Sookie almost missed her old life but it was never enough to make her want to go back there. She knew that she could never go back to Bon Temps and beside this was her life now. New York would have to be her new home. But there was no time for Sookie to dwell on what could have been when she heard her boss calling her name. “Yes Bob?” she asked him before she was told that the other waitress had called in sick again and could Sookie please stay longer and if possible for the entire shift. As she needed the money Sookie figured she might as well stay. Beside it was not as if she had a lot more to do anyway. Looking over her shoulder, Sookie noticed the couple who had just been sat down and walked over to them all smile. “Hello welcome to Bobby’s grill my name is Sookie and I will be your waitress for the night.” She said presenting herself. “Perhaps you would like to start with a beverage while you look over our menu?” she proposed. If there was one thing that Sookie was good at, it was getting the people to spend in the restaurant. It had made her one of the best waitress here. Of course it did help that she was able to hear people’s thoughts. After the couple had decided on a beer each, Sookie went over to the bar to place the order.
It was actually quite a busy night here and she would probably have ended up having to stay anyway to help the girls out. She looked at the cook as she waited for the beers to be ready and smiled. This place kind of reminded her of Merlottes but it didn’t feel as homey as Merlottes had been. It had been her home away from home for so long. And there she went again thinking about the past and what could have been. She knew nothing good could come out of those thoughts. It would make her want to escape again and fairyland was now off limits. “Thank you.” She told the barmaid who gave her the beer before walking back to the lovely couple. But when walking close to them she realised they were as lovely as they looked.
It was one of the downfalls of hearing thoughts. The girl was cheating on her boyfriend with a vampire and he knew, he had no idea what he was supposed to do about the whole thing. Vampires…ever since they had come out of the coffin so to speak it had only brought more trouble than anything else. Or so Sookie though. “Are y’all ready to order?” she asked in her thick southern accent. In the end the man decided to go for the burger while she decided to go with the salad because apparently her blood tasted better to her lover when she ate healthy. It took everything in her to not speak but no one here knew about her ability and there was no way she was going to change that. For one she ws no crazy Sookie. She was just the southern girl with the accent. And she was okay with that. It was one of the reasons why she had not gone to work with Sam when he had started to work here. She didn’t want to go back to her old life. .

Oh wonderful! You really have a good grasp of the character!
The only thing is that the sample doesn't really reflect the plot on this site. We've asked you to make a sample that would do that. So I'd suggest going back and reading the site plot for True Blood again - and rework the sample. Don't feel like you have to make a journal-ish entry either You can show her working tables and talking to people for instance, and we can get an idea of how her voice sounds like in your posts.
In the history, you also might want to include her discovering she was a fairy, and also the events that led to Gran's death, as those are very important to the character.

This is good. Just so you know, Sam Merlotte owns a bar called the Delta on this site that Sookie can work at - I'm not sure if you made her work at another grill purposefully or not (because that's totally fine to have her work somewhere else ). Anyway, I'm excited to have Sookie on board! Welcome
